Context: Kira had a very bad fight with his father, where his father almost killed him. Makoto saw the scene and stopped him, took his younger brother to the hospital and then gave him lodging at his house.

okay so murray gets like mad play in my head — that man bangs like a screen door in a hurricane, okay, he once disappeared to puerto rico for a long weekend in the mid-90s with some girl and when he came back and made an off-hand reference to a liseth joyce was like “wait i thought you were seeing that leon guy” and murray’s like “i am”.

there’s always some new honey that is being vaguely referenced, an off hand remark to a pedro when they thought he was seeing someone called deanna, and they’re like “honestly upon reflection were liseth and leon the same person??” (they aren’t; murray actually officiated their wedding years later — also in puerto rico. this raises more questions than answers, as far as joyce in concerned.)

he’s also still, obviously, kind of a recluse in “remarkable” ‘verse, keeps happily to his bunker, makes a nuisance of himself to the government — also he’s a published, best-selling queer romance novelist. (no one knows this; it’s under an elaborate pen name and also they are horrifically graphic. murray thinks they’re hilarious.) he’s just living his best life with his side hustles and government hush money and his bevy of extraordinarily beautiful lovers.

but to the question of his current relationship status: in ‘03, when murray was cleaning up on some very particular bets on some very particular usenet forums about a particular metal musician, he starts talking to someone called rosie (also called roosevelt). it’s more of an argument, really, and whatever it was originally about is lost to time. but they start talking, end up exchanging personal information, and yeah start knocking boots on and off for a few years.
