✉ FFXIV RP Letters / Postcards ✉

The concept is simple: Send IC letters/postcards to other characters (via Asks).

You don't have to handwrite them either. Why not pick a font that best represents your character's handwriting, and type it instead? Then just hand it to the Post Moogles (upload it to the recipient's Asks).

As with real life letters, there's no requirements on length, or frequency. You can write as much (or little) as you want, when you want.

If anyone sees this and wants to write any of my characters, please hit me up. I also highly encourage reaching out to others to see if they'd be interested in such a thing.

It could also be a fun to extend RP to characters that you've seen around, but never had a chance to interact with. Timezones and DC locations have no power here!!

Something you'll want to establish before you start writing though, is how your characters know each other. Could be they simply posted/read a notice on a board about penpals wanted. Or maybe they met previously? Maybe they grew-up together?

Why not choose parchment that suits your character? Maybe they like pretty patterned paper, and always have a ready supply of stationery to choose from.

Or maybe they travel a lot, and just use a page or two from an everyday notepad they keep with them.

Or could they be the type that frequently forgets to write, and maybe only has a napkin or back of a flyer to hand when they finally do remember?

You could write about anything you'd like. Whatever your OC gets up to, or thinks about, and is happy to share.

Cerise Cephinne is an apothecary of the Brume, stocking both beneficial and detrimental products. He was once part of a lowborn family that mistreated him to gain the appreciation of any noble that would look their way. One night, sick of the treatment, he slipped a vial of liquid into his parents’ coffee that had them perish as he fled, changing his identity along the way. The Brume became his home in the absence of one, and he quickly took an interest in brewing substances for various purposes. Eventually, he opened an apothecary business with a darker side focus, selling deadly products that allow the corrupt to be secretly picked off. Cerise enjoys other questionable activities, including document forging for his false identity and brewing his own hormones. He collects trinkets, sometimes for himself and other times to sell; his storefront displays an assortment of items he finds interesting. He isn’t picky in what fun he decides to have otherwise, and is used to low quality Brume goods. As for his personality, he frequently acts sweet, even when hired to pursue a target. Playful, doting, overbearing, what have you – Cerise loves to play on innocent appearances. He is very tall, towering above others with long Elezen proportions and a slightly soft figure. In a strong androgynous tone, his voice is projected with a distinct Brume accent.

Dreisseaux de Drelejon is a minor noble hailing from a strict family loyal to House Dzemael. They attended Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate in their youth after being expelled from gladiator training, their house’s traditional class. Dreisseaux has always been adept with animals, spending time late at night around the chocobo stables of Ishgard to unwind and finding themself drawn to the karakuls in Ishgardian paddocks and Coertha’s snowy fields. Some time after their graduation, Dreisseaux obtained a small home away from their traditional life, in which they would have room to raise a small number of animals for themself and tend to various projects. Dreisseaux enjoys singing, reading, gardening, dancing, and cooking in their free time. They are easily pleased by tea and pastries, and often sing when they are alone. They spend a significant amount of time gardening and gathering all types of plants. A pet karakul named Guimauve tends to follow them around. They can be timid in certain situations due to their noble religious upbringing, and generally possess a gentle, polite demeanour, alongside expressing a devout belief in Halone. Their family’s traditional practices had them speaking Old Elezen at home, and they retain a thick accent when speaking in Common. They have a slender build, and plenty of pink freckles everywhere.

When she disappeared, though, her normal contacts and clientele would find themselves coming up short for info on where she went. Her office and home were left abandoned with no explanation and no forwarding address. Rumors spread: perhaps she'd been arrested, maybe an aggravated Blade had finally killed her. No matter the reason, her name once again started circulating in recent moons. Was she back? Where was she this whole time? Where can she be found now?

A captain needs sailors. If your character's looking for a job, perhaps they would find her help wanted posters tacked up around the city.

Ignatia was known in some circles for her disastrous taste in partners - and for her propensity to chew them up and spit them out. Where one would expect a new partner draped over her arm upon her return, she seems to have sworn off romance and - shockingly - physical intimacy. Would your character feel so emboldened to try to sneak under her shell? Would they be successful? It would certainly be fun for her to see them try.

Having finished my move and fully returned from my hiatus, I now find myself in search of some RP. But I am looking for something fairly specific.

While I have had no problem finding regency-themed and upscale venues and RP communities for Mercer's brother, Sebastian, I am finding it difficult to locate the opposite for Mercer within Ishgard. While I am happy to hear about dive bars and gambling dens outside of Ishgard, I am really looking to find a few corners of the Ishgard RP community that are centered around the experiences of common folk and Brume rats. Summary:

The only son of a prominent pureblooded Garlean family and now a defector. Though at first glance, she passes for viera, she's actually half miqo'te. Luki is far shorter than what you'd expect of a female viera. She's also somewhat scruffy, and has a little (bunny-like) tail. Her miqo'te side shines through via her highly expressive ears too.

She collects a lot of crystals, and enjoys spending time in nature (as long as it's not too cold), especially near water.

Happy Hour - Bards & Bands Wanted

Hello, folks! It's been a while, so we wanted to give everyone a quick update about our Happy Hour events on the last Thursday of each month. We have decided to move away from the macro performance portion of the Happy Hour events for the time being, either permanently or until more new macro performers enter the community and our past performers become more available in their schedules. Rest assured, Happy Hour is here to stay. The events will continue and will be resuming soon! However, we are going to shift the focus away from the performance and musical aspect, and more toward casual, social RP tavern night events with a classy speakeasy vibe. Summary:

An exiled Rava from Golmore, his forest name was Ari Djt-Dvre. He lived the typical male lifestyle for more than a century, excelling under his Wood-Warder master's tutelage until he achieved mastery and struck out on his own. He was a devout follower of the Green Word and sired several daughters by the same woman from his birth village. He would often watch them from a distance and leave small gifts for his lover and children. His birth village, being small and near the edge of Golmore territory, was ransacked and torched by a Garlean force. Ari's only obtainable vengeance was to track a straggling Garlean survivor over the course of days, where he strung the man up, skinned him alive and left him to the jungle's mercy. Exiling himself afterwards, he adopted a city name, Lidell, and travelled to Dalmasca where he joined the resistance. His hair-trigger temper and bloodthirst eventually had him forcibly discharged from resistance forces. Now he roams, taking on mercenary work as he tries and fails to find some peace from the unrelenting grief and anger.

Hooks:

Dalmasca: If you have a history with Dalmasca or were even in the resistance, you might just know him - or rumors of him. Lidell spent some time backing the resistance before being forcibly discharged for his unquenchable bloodthirst and inhumane, even torturous treatment of the Garlean opposition.

Self-assured in her abilities, it can sometimes be hard for her to back down from a challenge - and the stubborn streak certainly doesn't help matters. Though often rather down to earth and with a colorful sense of humor, one would think that a switch was flipped with how quickly she can become serious should a given situation call for it.

Surgical Precision: A skilled Doctor and surgeon with a degree, Verena has treated many patients over the years in hospitals and even out on the field of battle. Anyone currently or previously involved with the military, civilians, monks, or Black Talons could have been treated by her at one point or another.

Black Talons: A current Blacktalon assassin and agent, V has traveled all over Azeroth and beyond to gather, seek and locate various bits of information ranging from a simple overheard conversation to a relic or two. Those of a similar occupation, drakes or Dracthyr of the Black Dragonflight could easily recognize her for this.

Isn't it odd, though, that she's just a Blacktalon agent? One does not simply become an agent; Wrathion hires talent. Maybe there's more to this.

White Tiger, Jade Serpent: At every given opportunity, Verena will speak of her time in Pandaria - working, training, fighting, the whole package. Monks, or those who lived, worked, trained or fought on the Isle could certainly recognize her from there; she spent a number of years training under a pair of Pandaren monk masters.

Woven in the Mists: Perhaps it's just a rumor, or maybe there's more to it. Though a skilled combatant and combat medic in her own right, whispers constantly swirl around a more unique style that she employs; one that can be used to harm instead of heal. Maybe due to the ramifications of using this method of mistweaving, or something else entirely, there will occasionally be lightning-like teal patterns up and down her arms. This results from an excess of chi use.

Sting like a Killer Bee: Despite her calm disposition and training as a mistweaver, Verena is known for a rather aggressive and punishing fighting style. It would be best described as orthodox Muay Thai combined with Wing Chun and Taekwondo.

Neutral Party: Verena does not identify with the Alliance or the Horde, and simply chooses to remain neutral. Though once a firm and unwavering member of the Alliance, her time and training as a monk seems to have changed her perspective on the faction war.
