Alexis is her actual name, but she goes by Lexi. She was born to a fairly normal family, with fairly normal lives, but she possessed a very unusual gift. From a young age, she discovered that she loved to sing, not only that, but she was also very good at holding a tune.

Her father went out for 'a pack of smokes' one night when she was eight, and she never did see him again. Alexis was sad for a long time after he left, but she also very quickly began to take after her mom. Her mom never faltered in front of her, in fact, she got stronger than ever and even pushed for Alexis to continue to sing. She would work two jobs and doubles constantly to pay for her daughter's music lessons, and in return, Alexis did everything she needed to succeed. Her grades were nothing short of perfect, she was actually a very bright young lady, she didn't let herself get distracted when it came to her music, and she kept out of trouble as much as possible. She wasn't a saint, per say, but she was good at covering her tracks.

Alexis grew up a very social butterfly. She made friends anywhere she went, though she kept most of them at arm's length. The only person she truly trusted growing up was her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was the only one to know her secrets, her dreams of being a singer, saw her struggle between pretending to be okay with every day her father remained absent to the way she sometimes didn't sleep for days because of her busy schedule. And she was around when Lexi tried drugs for the first time, during a party she had snuck out for. Needless to say, Alexis has always had a spirit that craved more than what the world was trying to feed her. She knew she was meant for more, and she stopped at nothing to achieve it.

It was only when she landed a gig at a very fancy hotel, at the age of nineteen, that her big break finally came. This is what she did for a couple of years. Hang around the wealthy enough, so long as you've got something to offer, you're bound to get somewhere eventually. She was discovered during one of her shows, and the rest became history. Of course, her mother was there to make sure her daughter got the best deal during the negotiation process and Alexis found herself singing a five-album deal.

The moment she could, Alexis used her newfound money to help her mother. They moved to Los Angeles, and Alexis became Lexi Hartwood. She went on to work in some small projects, featuring her voice in songs by bigger artists, writing her own music, and putting in hours upon hours in the studio. As she began to grow in Hollywood, so did her circle of friends. She appreciated the fine things money could buy you and she didn't really care what other's thought because of that.

She's currently residing in NYC, has been for a little bit now, and working on her next upcoming album.

Lola is her ex-girlfriend. They were inseparable, until life took over. She cares deeply about Lola and she would absolutely come after anyone who even looked at her wrong. There is a lot of unfinished business there and it causes a lot headbutting these days whenever they are around each other a little too long.

She has an obsession with knives. If you ask, she will happily show you. From pretty ones with pink rhinestones, heart shaped gems, to ones that have the blades designed like butterflies. She has a nice collection, and often carries one on her at all times.

She can come off very brazen to people, but she honestly means well. There is a heart underneath all of the walls she puts up.

Sebastian and Vanja are some of her favorite people in the world. Seb does her nails, while Vanja styles her hair. She's obsessed with their little gossip sessions and always looks forward to her appointments at the shop. She will always bring a bottle for them to all enjoy while she fills them in on all the dirty secrets of her Hollywood friends.

She loves horror movies, and fantasy. She's obsessed with LOTR and Ghostface.

She's a party girl and is always looking to just have a good time.

Let The Flames Begin: Tune Tuesday

Alright y’all might have seen that this account’s been starting up for the first time in a while. We’re actually going around and doing stuff, cool. There’s one simple reason for that, and this is me, Lexi, the one behind this whole thing talking: I’ve decided to cut out all the toxic people in my life and extend my vetting for letting new people in. (queue this music because I’m allowed to have musical overlays on my textposts it’s tuesday! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_ohWuaNPWo ) If you’ve been reading my other posts you can probably piece it all together, but in the last 6 months I found myself a decent friend group at college... at least I thought I did. See, originally it was just me and this real chill guy who I won’t say the name of because internet, so I’ll just call him E. E and I met up near the start of the school year because E was just such an approachable person that even I could overcome my big NPC energy to talk to him. We got to talking, and decided it would be cool to start up a club for RPGs at the school, so that players and gamemasters could draw from a pool of people to make sure everyone got the experience they wanted. Then came D (again, not their name because privacy, but also y’know, I can’t resist calling him a D because he’s a d i c k), he was originally pretty chill, but almost immediately he ripped the club idea from my hands and decided all on his own without any input from me or E or anyone else that the club was going to include all tabletop games. Alright not at all what the club was supposed to be about, but okay. So a month rolls by, and D has determined that the club is going to do RPGs at most once a month. You know, the thing we were designed around in the first place, not ‘each campaign once a month’ which I could vaguely see to prevent burnout but nah, nah he means ‘one official club campaign session spread across all campaigns per month’. What. The. Fuck. Then it’s October, and I’ve got this cool idea, reverse trick-or-treating, you know that thing where you go door to door and give people candy? It was gonna be nice, and cool, and I told the whole friend-group about it at the start of October. Other shit happened in October regarding people I look up to and the discontinuation of my absolute favorite show, so there’s that. But the important thing to this post happened on Halloween, that day when they all said they’d join me going around giving people candy, and we’d all have a good time. I’d arranged it for six... six rolls around, no one’s there. I check the group discord, and I’m like ‘hey, where is everybody?’ only response is from E, saying that most people are at dinner and we should probably reschedule to later. I reply that it’s understandable and rearrange for 8. I get a message from B (only time she’s mentioned) saying she’ll be able to show up for sure. No one showed up. Only one person at 10 who came to console me because I kinda exploded in the discord server because I’d been planning this all month and no one fucking showed up. Yeah I cried myself to sleep that night, don’t judge. So now it’s November, and I finally put into action a plan I’d wanted to work on since the start of college: A larp league at the school, only problem is I’m going to have to craft the system from nothing. Alright, I’ve got inspiration from said favorite show ever that was cancelled in october, I’m going to base it around that. I then tell everyone in the friend group and they encourage me, I tell them I’ll be running a christmas event after thanksgiving break, they say that’s awesome. That’s when I realized I’m going to need to make over 1200 abilities because each of the 40 classes needs 33 abilities. I asked them for any suggestions, got a grand total of 0. So I worked my ass off, far more than is healthy, and got... absolutely nowhere because there was no chance in the first place. Right before thanksgiving break I tell them ‘hey, there’s no chance of me finishing the whole system in time, we’ll use a simplified edition i’ll come up with now’ they gave approval. I made a whole mini-system on 3 hours of sleep. I went home for thanksgiving break and caused my whole family extra stress during their move by needing to make swords for this event. So the day of the event rolls around, I’ve got everything set up, I’m out of the field, waiting. The event starts at 11, and that’s when i get there. No one’s there. ‘That’s okay’ I figure, ‘they’re not exactly punctual, they’ll be here in 15-20 minutes’. They are not. At 11:30, E shows up, I ask him where the fuck everyone is. Turns out B is still asleep despite giving me confirmation she’d be here last night, D and the rest of the group are at breakfast and have no intention of showing up despite being 25 seconds away, and E doesn’t see anything wrong with this. I waited until noon, still no one, so I gave up and headed back to my dorm, I’d informed them on the discord that if no one showed up by noon I’d cancel. And I fucking seethed. These people didn’t give a single fuck about me, or my time, or my effort. And after a few hours of calming down, past the tears, past the attempts at breaking things, I got onto the discord server, and I told them, in no indirect terms, that repeatedly encouraging people to devote time and effort to projects for the group, to get them excited for their events, to say that you’ll be there, and then all ghost without a word was absolutely abusive and I didn’t want that in my life. Instead of even a single attempt at an apology, or even a bullshit excuse, they all started yelling at me and kicked me from the server, the club, and the friendgroup. So that’s where I am. I don’t give a single fuck about people who disrespect my time. I don’t give a single fuck about people who think that just because someone has bigger problems than me my problems don’t exist. I don’t give a single fuck about people who bail on plans without a warning or remorse. And I feel so free. So I’m turning all the effort on projects I was making for those toxic assholes inward, I’m making the shit I love, and if you don’t enjoy it, you don’t have to be around me or use my stuff. Sure the first few apprentice games and such will be free, and the proof-of-concept for anything will be free, but if I’ve put in serious effort? If i’ve put in 150 hours already (like on a certain larp system...) and it’s not even a tenth of the way done? You bet your left buttock that I’m not giving that away for free. If I’m going to make something I want to get something out of it. So there’s that. And just because I know I need help here, I do have some open positions: Sabrina needs a pilot, and that’s the fancy lore way of saying I desperately need an artist, because my art is shit and while I have no idea how to make UI-interactive games, I’m going to try my best to learn. Elluwen needs a pilot, and that’s still a fancy way of saying I need playtesters. I’ve been relying on my friend groups too much for this, posting a message about this new game I’ve got that’s nearly done, and waiting 2 weeks to get a single person to even try to play it. Meanwhile I’m playing it repeatedly to try to find bugs and their version is almost completely replaced. and several more... honestly to just put it clearly: I need reliable people in my life, and if that means setting up a patreon for people to see sneak peaks and be playtesters through, wonderful! If I can find an artist willing to be on call for my projects, and of course still pursue their own endeavors, I can’t afford a full-time artist, that’s amazing.

when you were done presenting the basics, you switched to explaining the details and the main idea of your project to your class

and how different things respond and react to paint

one of them was “what would happen if you pour paint over a human being?” honestly idk

you suddenly took out a bucket full of red paint and walked toward the window, while the students followed you

“this is what happens.”

then you open the window of the classroom, and just as you expected, hyunjin was standing right below it, looking as clueless as ever

before he could even grasp the situation, you already turned the whole bucket sideway, and the red paint slid down his face like a waterfall, with the class laughing

you even saw the small smile your teacher was trying to hide

hyunjin wasn’t pleased at all

for some reason, as soon as you caught eye contact with hyunjin, the look in his eyes made your stomach grumble in fear... just a little bit

when everybody left the classroom for lunch time, as you’ve planned, you ratted hyunjin out, that he didn’t do anything for the whole project

your teacher wasn’t very impressed with your plan of revenge, and the fact that you and hyunjin did not follow the rules 

but because you actually did something, he had to complied

he ended up taking some points off, and you ended up with a ‘C’, while hyunjin received nothing

and boy... he was NOT very happy about it

you hopped out the room, super satisfied that your plan worked perfectly

that was until you were suddenly snatched by a strong grip

hyunjin had brought you to the boys’ locker room, where he had just washed the paint off

when you saw the anger on his face, you couldn’t help but just chuckle a bit, because revenge felt sweet

“you think this is funny?” he asked you sternly

“well... i’m laughing, right?” 

he pulled you closer to him, and at this point, you could practically feel his breath on the tip of your skin

this was getting a little too close for your own liking

“let go, stupid.”

you pushed him off of you

fuck... you were actually getting kind of scared

he only continued to stay in the position you pushed him off to, giving you an unreadable expression

before he cracked into laughter

what the hell... you thought

you were confused and lost

“nice one.” he pat your shoulder

“oh...” was the only thing that escaped your mouth

you finally caught onto what was happening

he took out his hand for a handshake

its time for me to talk about these people. eevee has been on mastodon.social for awhile now and glip just joined awoo.space. i thought for awhile people were not aware of any sort of claims against eevee or who they were affiliated with, but ive begun to realize that in fact no. people are actually aware of the claims, theyre just only hearing eevee's side of it because of his place in the tech community. im fed up fediverse. ive lost countless friends and communities for this, so even though i hate having to be the one to do it, here it comes regardless.

this thread will compile verifiable evidence (aka "not screenshots"). i am not going to speak on the current legal allegations which may never be confirmed/denied, only actions which are archived and shouldnt be overlooked when considering their involvement in our community. i will not be speaking on the issue with marl. marl stayed behind the scenes, i suspect theres a reason for it but that can only be speculation on my part. marl is not on mastodon so im focusing on eevee and glip right now.

to preface this i feel the need to remind everyone that these people have following and support. this is probably self evident but im not just trying to throw anyone under the bus because i dont like them. eevee is a moderately well known programmer/website host and glip is a successful artist. both of them have been around online for a long time, so personally im not gonna hear that theyre the sole victims of 4chan smear campaign. this is the result of long term bad behaviour.

im not here to laugh at these people. i dont think theres anything funny about this situation. i am being as wordy as possible because i see these people being wordy as hell to cover it up too. if youre willing to read their paragraph long posts on patreon pleading for acceptance on behalf of their "poor cute oddball family," you can read this too.

im a completely uninvolved party, but i think they pose a real threat. the extent of my involvement is that i was a fan of glip when they were known as PK (okay bear with me i am bad at numbers/time but i think i was aged 14-15 or something probably), i was not involved in PMD-E and i didnt go to their servers. later i found their porn blog, by then i was around 18-19 at the time i think, so i just wrote it off as "gross," because while im not a fan of porn in the first place i especially think its uncomfortable to see it with childhood based characters. its one of those things i wouldnt have thought about as a minor but i began to realize as i aged. whatever, anyways.

it was only after i stopped following them that i discovered what was going on. so this isnt any kind of grudge, i assure you. i will refer the kiwifarms thread but i took no part in it. ive never met or talked to these people and i never will. also before you suggest it, no im really not going to try to talk to them. countless people have tried to talk to them. i have read many of their posts and claims. i do not trust them. i am staying the fuck away from them.

i know people are invariably going to say to me "well kiwifarms dug this up so you cant trust it!" and to a degree i get it. i do not support kiwifarms for their harassment and mob mentality in general. they are hugely homophobic/transphobic and if it were not for the "funny drama" i think they would have ignored the fact that glip drew child porn as well because they dont give a fuck about lolicon/shotacon.

but i am not going to throw information under the bus just because of where it came from, these people are riding on the hope that people wont be willing to dig through tons of information from kiwifarms to uncover what theyve done. people NEED to pay attention to this if theyre going to have these people in their circles. the admins of awoo.space and mastodon.social are to be held responsible for giving these people platform. these people cannot undo the harm which they've willfully perpetuated, no amount of apologies can ever make up for this. get them out of our spaces.

this thread will not be a complete example of their behaviours by any means and i do believe the kiwifarms thread has a lot of it which should be looked at and accounted for when judging this. i believe they have been a danger to children on the internet for a long time in more ways than one. i think it started as smug/dramatic deviantArt personalities and grew into something hideous. there are accounts of them harassing and making fun of other artists and children (and i still see them doing it), but i am focusing on the more immediately harmful stuff.

finally i would like to remind people that this entire group of people has stuck together through these allegations, for that reason i feel we shouldnt overlook eevee’s actions for glip’s, or glip’s actions for marl’s. theyre all aware of whats going on and this is only going to give them more leeway when being faced with these serious problems. they’re going to rely on each other for as long as they can slide by doing that.

This makes for an interesting upcoming week, as Aaron is a Karen is almost guaranteed a win against the destitute Tasty McGibblets, and either Jake or Steven must walk away a victor, given their matchup with each other this week. If Aaron is a Karen continues to have tight end problems (teehee)... if Cooper Kupp continues to dominate... if Jake decides to actually play a defense... PERHAPS we will see Aaron is a Karen finally fighting to keep 1st place.

Jerry had a Little Lamb- After starting the season in a measly 5th place, Jerry had a Little Lamb continues to climb and impress. Raiding LaMar-a-Lago- Another team on the up-and-up, ALSO going undefeated for the last 3 games! After an absolute ass-whooping by his wife in the season opener, manager Jake collected his shattered ego and got his act together. He put on his thinking cap and benched a Rams receiver that, let's be honest, only got to start for Raiding LaMar-a-Lago because the manager is a Rams fan (it's okay Jake, we all do it). Going into week 5, Raiding LaMar-a-Lago faces their toughest opponent since Aaron is a Karen, so we'll see if this rising team can stand up to an actual challenge. Lord knows if Lamar Jackson has another one of *those* weeks where he connects with his tight end Mark Andrews, JHALL will have an upHill battle to overcome (See what I did there, Steven?).

Baby Dropped Dal- We have to give credit where credit is due, and manager Niki has at least managed to squeak out another win since her season-opening matchup, which is more than the latter 2 teams in the rankings can say. The season opener against JHALL was promising - BDD scored over 100 points with just their QB, WRs, and defense. TL;DR: My persona Lexi and Senpai met because Lexi was trying to eat him due to her alien/demon instincts kicking in. Rather than run away, he was interested and tried to befriend her. Me (irl) and Senpai met because I found a rom of his game online and downloaded it. I realized he was self aware and trapped so I extracted his character data onto a memory card and found a way to project him into the real world (it's contrived I knowww but shhhh)

So Senpai was walking home from school with Monika (He joined one of her literature club meetings just for fun and I see them as siblings (Monika is older heeehee) but while they were walking home, they noticed something green was glowing in the darkness of the night. This was Lexi (she has gems tied to her horns that glow)

Um anyways so she started hypnotizing Senpai because again, she's an alien demon thing and she feeds off of the life force from the people she hypnotizes (think of vampires from the sims 4). Senpai isn't really effected by her hypnotizing, and Monika was like "We should go" but Senpai felt bad for her? She was just hiding in the darkness and when she realized her powers didn't work, she just silently went back to go lurk again. So despite how odd he thought she was, and the fact that she tried to eat his soul he approached her and tried to talk. She didn't speak, but she seemed interested in him... To the point where after Monika and Senpai left to continue their journey home, she started following him like a lost puppy, so they decided to let her stay at their home for one night.

Well, one night became several nights.

Senpai just couldn't help but try and befriend this girl. The two were becoming closer, and he may or may not have developed a little crush... All the girls (and boys) at his school seemed to like him for artificial reasons... But Lexi was different. She always seemed interested in everything he was doing, even if It was boring stuff like homework or chores. He's never had someone show genuine interest in him... Even if it was the weird fascinationation she had with him.

Lexi, meanwhile was so intrigued by this boy. She's been on earth for a while but Senpai was the first person she's tried to eat that looked at her differently. He didn't run or insult her, and he didn't try to attack or ridicule her either. Along with this, she's never had a real relationship with someone before. Senpai would talk to her like... A friend. He would give her gifts, snacks, and on the rare occasion that he went out somewhere, he would take her with him. She also developed a little crush, but she didn't understand it much...

Anyways, one day Senpai was drawing something and Lexi was watching... He drew the two of them together and Lexi said her first words wtf (Lexi isn't a baby, and its not like she doesn't know how to speak or anything. She just speaks very little because she's never spoken to people before.) She just pointed at his pencil and said "Can I draw something too...?" And of course Senpai was like "WTF" because its been like a month and this is the first time shes ever spoken but he was also like "Yeah :D" so they just took turns drawing stuff for a bit and talking...

Operation: Dwarves is a strategy game where you take control of a small keep of dwarves, numbering at most 50, it is your goal to beat back the endless horde of monsters trying to get past your keep and into the dwarven homeland. There is no winning, only high scores, but you can get a good ending, so that’s a thing. It is heavily inspired, if not downright a text-based copy of, DVZ, a game made by Robert Moran on minecraft, that people loved. I hope you guys enjoy it, because I took 8 days making it, and if I can make something playable and good in that time period, I’m more skilled than I thought, which in turn means more good content for you guys! The game is free, and I’m not accepting donations currently (as I don’t have enough content for it to make sense, and I also don’t have enough skill to even think of charging for my stuff, even as a suggestion).

The Complexity of Maintaining a Global FOSS Community

One thing I realized earlier in the week was that whether we like it or not, we’ve all been part of a Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) community at least twenty times (or more depending on the number of apps you have on your devices). The Climbing Contributor Mountain, which I will refer to as the CCM, describes this fact well. It’s basically a stage-by-stage process where any individual can start out as a simple user of some software and gradually progresses to a seeker, collaborator, and finally a contributor of a FOSS project.

Based on the article, I think I can possibly place myself in the second category- seeker. Tachiyomi recently became one of my favorite FOSS apps for reading Japanese, Korean, and Chinese manga, manhwa, and manhua respectively (I know, that’s a bit of a mouthful ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ). Basically, I started off as an avid user (still am) of the app, that it became my go-to application for any comic (you can even find the old DC and Marvel comics on it). The idea behind the platform was that the user picks several comic servers, add them to the library, and can search the contents of the library for any comic of their choice. However, I noticed one fault with the app – some servers ran rather slow, and unexpectedly glitch. This unknowingly advanced me to the Seeker stage of the CCM as I started searching for answers online as to why I have such an error and how I could fix it.

Now that I have your undivided attention, let’s discuss some complexities of maintaining a global FOSS project community. By global, I simply mean that the CCM stage members span across different countries worldwide. Instantly, we see a problem with this – communication! In particular, “Time & Distance”, “Ego”, and “Language.” The Lay of the Land briefly summarizes these points, but I will describe these complexities using an analogy:

Let’s assume twins Larry and Luna want to create a FOSS project that tracks the release times of certain popular games. The twins know that they may need some help, so they advertise their project idea online. To their amazement, they receive over 200 replies with about 60% of the interested contributors outside of their time zone. This presents the first problem: How would they communicate if the twins want to arrange face to face meetings with each other? In addition, there are about 107 contributors whose first language is not English, and 12 don’t know English very well. To make things even worse, of the remaining native English speakers, there were variations in the grammar, syntax, and lexis of the language; Some contributors from the UK had different ways of spelling and organizing information. Likewise, some contributors from Nigeria found certain documentation practices much different from how they would have done it. Thus, another complexity: a language barrier within another language barrier (O(n^2) perhaps… :)).  Finally, Larry and Luna are met with a few contributors who want to basically take over the whole project, claim to have “solely” developed some part of the project, and even go as far as to copy the twin’s idea and make their own project (so basically a troll :0). This is the ego complexity of FOSS communities.

I guess Larry and Luna weren’t expecting all those complexities. Just like them, there are so many aspiring FOSS developers that do not consider the difficulties that are likely to occur with their projects, and this usually leads to parts of the project being terminated or “forked.”

So, as implicit FOSS community members, let’s remember that the next time we use a FOSS application, we should take a minute to appreciate all the work the main contributors did to ensure the software runs successfully, especially with how the complexities were handled.
