Yo i adore your writing so so so much! It's so nicely detailed and fun! If i could, i'd write myself, but i can only draw for now ://keep up the good work, and have the Leshy content flowing in for as long as you enjoy making it!! Could you maybe write about the reader giving him a warm, candle-lit bath after he returns to the cabin from a muddy stinky storm, exhausted and maybe even injured? ofc u don't have to, only if u find the prompt fun <33 happy holidays and have a good day ^^
I’ve been thinking about this prompt all day I drank an entire mug of hot coco to get in the right cozy mood for this one so here we go gamers.
~Rain Rain~
Leshy X GN!Reader, bathing fic
In which Leshy gets hydrated
Leshy sat in like an uncomfortable mutt in a wooden wash basin, warm water running just beneath his rib cadge, the small storage room was warm, mostly from the obnoxious amount of candles, and slight in thanks to it being the only room in the cabin without a hole in the ceiling.
Outside, a billowing rainstorm roared, giving the little cabin of blanks and logs quiet the beating.
Moments ago, the great scrybe of beasts was out there in this rain, helping to move young denizens of the forest away from the cliff side. He’d been just a tad too late, the strong winds and heavy rain turned the mountain side into soup, and a large mud slide buried Leshy along with the wolf pack he’d been moving.
They’d ended up fine, it wasn’t too deep, easy enough for he and the pack to dig themselves out of. Though apparently mud wasn’t quiet his look, as his current challenger had rushed him out of the main room and immediately drenched him in water.
He’d gone from cold and wet to warm and wet, which he wasn’t sure was an upgrade.
“Alright, I got more hot water.” Speaking of his challenger, they’d returned.
Leshy didn’t have running water in his cabin, he’d supposed he had no use for it, so getting hot water proved to be quiet the chore. His challanger, sweet as could be, went out in the rain to collect water from the well, then boiled it in the fireplace. He didn’t understand why they went though the trouble, but it was trouble none the less.
“Hold still, alright?” They walked up to Leshy sat in his basin and tilted his head forward, slowly pouring the freshly heated water over the nape of his neck. He may not appreciate the forceful cleaning, but he’d appreciate the effort to put into it, and the cool hand on the back of his head.
“May I get out now?”
Of course, one could only appreciate a gesture for so long.
His player’s hand ran down his neck to his spine, sending a slight shiver though Leshy’s body. He hoped it wasn’t too noticeable a movement.
“No. You’re still absolutely caked in mud.” The player shook their hand, flicks of dirty water going in every direction. Leshy huffed.
“Most of it was dirt before you shoved me in here.”
“Dirt. Caked on dirt.” The player looked down at him in a judgful manor, making Leshy shrink under his gaze. They rolled their eyes, “I get it, you live in the woods and play card games and live among the beasts, but that’s really no reason to be so filthy.”
Leshy rung his hands together, avoiding the challanger’s gaze, “The prospector is just as filthy and I don’t see you shoving HIM into a basin of boiling water.”
“It’s not boiling.” They snapped up the well bucket and lightly tapped it atop Leshy’s head, “And the Prospector showers when he goes home. You just always seem him fresh out of the mine.”
Leshy’s pout was probably much more obvious now as he twiddled his thumbs and shifted in place. The basin was uncomfortable, the water was getting cold, and truth be told he was bored of just sitting here.
The challenger gave a soft sigh and sat on the well bucket before him, “Just let me get it out of your hair at least, okay?”
He looked back up at them, then gave a soft nod, trying his best not to look too much like a kicked puppy.
His challanger’s hands gently ran though what stood for his hair, leaves and brush, deeper down a layer of moss and lichen. They combed though his hair, washing their hands off in the basin before returning, gently cleaning away any dirt and mud that’s escaped the dumping of water when he’d first been forced into the bath.
Slowly, Leshy’s eye closed, he relaxed into the gently touched of his challanger’s fingers over his scalp, and when they moved to give his beard the same treatment he all but leaned into them, a low rumble in his throat akin to a purr.
Leshy hadn’t even noticed how much he leaned to his challenger, how he’d put the weight of his entire head into their hands, how their cool touch soothed him so.
He hadn’t meant to fall asleep, honest. But the warmth of the room, the roar of the storm, and the comforting feeling of being groomed... it was all just too much.
When he’d awake, hours later, he’d be thoroughly water logged, and would need to spend the rest of the day outside, soaking in sunlight, and plucking off new branches that’d spring from the abundance of resources he’d collect.
At least he’d still have a challenger to play against, on such a nice, sunny day.
