•Frenchie's dad is an abusive drunk

•Butcher's and Lenny's dad is an abusive drunk that shows no remorse for what happened to Lenny

•Annie's dad went to get the milk

•M.M.'s father overworked himself as a result of grief and trauma

•Kimiko's and Kenji's parents were killed by Shining Light

•Hughie's dad dies after Hughie's mother injects him with Compound V which ends in him developing super dementia and killing a bunch of people on accident before Hughie puts him to rest

The supes

•Homelander didn't even know who his real father is up until season 3 and if you want to count Vogelbaum and Marty as his "adoptive fathers"... They humiliated and tortured him throughout his entire childhood, imprisoned him and never let him be a proper child

•Soldier Boy's dad called him a disappointment and belittled him for shooting up V which was still very unstable at the time and could've had awful consequences

•Victoria Neuman's parents died in an accident related to her powers

•Ryan hasn't had a father in the first eight years of his life and once Homelander finds him, he's constantly torn between trusting Homelander or putting his faith in Butcher since both of them are very unstable and say things to him that hurt him very deeply

•Mesmer lost custody of his daughter after unspecified events (but I also have absolutely no sympathy for this guy so)

Others

•Ashley only ever mentions her mom so I'm assuming something's wrong with her dad too

•Collin's parents (and the rest of his family) were killed by Frenchie when he was still working for Little Nina

•Zoe was raised by Victoria Neuman and Stan Edgar, and Stan ends up in prison after the crimes he committed as Vought's CEO were uncovered

after thinkin for a little while i'm not happy about the finale tbh !

and its not that i don't like it in the way that i don't like how it turned out, i think it leaves room for an excellent final season (i will wait 2 years for that, ong), i more so think that the characters in the episode acted,,, uncharacteristically?

from what we've seen of sage this season (so glad she lived btw), i don't think she would just, y'know, stroll into Homelander's room, gloating like that i thought it had been established that she didn't fw Homelander anymore, especially now she's been fired, and she's smart enough to know how much of a loose cannon Homelander could be, and that if she says the wrong thing she just gets lasered (i was shitting myself hoping that wouldn't happen)

and also how tf did she even get in Vought tower?? wouldn't the other members stop her??

and then there's butcher's reaction to grace's death, like damn, i don't think Billy fucking butcher is just gonna say nothing when one of the few people he trusts gets killed right in front of him (BY HIS SON TOO??), like how is he not shouting mad??

and then he just up and kills Neuman like bruh did Hughie's talk to him mean fuckin nothing or something like, he brings up Lenny for gods sake and butcher just,, says nothing?? it's been established over the season that he's not listening to monkey at all now he knows he's not real and on that, where the fuck is Becca in his head?? what's she doing?? speak tf up, stop him

and Ryan,, Ryan wouldn't just shove his basically adoptive grandma out of anger like that, at least i don't think he would.

and this is a little difficult to explain but i don't think annie would react like that towards Hughie engaging with the carbon-copy shapeshifted Annie. like he did not know it was not her. how would he know?? i feel like Annie would've been understand of that at least, if not annoyed, but not enough to go off on him like he did something wrong

this also brings up the point of Hughie just being Kripke's punching bag for the whole damn show,, like i thought he had a character progression of becoming more brave, but nah he's just getting fucked from all directions and its written for comedy most of the time (pretty sure Kripke said that Hughie's rape scene was written for comedy,,, ha ha funny)

i'm getting distracted now, might add more to this later if i feel like it

Seeing Double

It had started off normal. Everything was fine. Tommy and Lenny were by his side as Ryan picked off the criminals one by one, tying them up for the police to come get them.

Everything had been fine.

Until it wasn't.

One of the criminals was a supe. Butcher didn't know, so the team didn't know. It caught the three siblings off guard. Lenny got knocked out and injured, so Tommy had to teleport her away to The Boys HQ for medical treatment. Leaving Ryan alone with the unknown supe.

There was a flash of light....a loud crash...and then.

2024

He was all the way back in fucking 2024. John was on trial for murder, Victoria Neuman running for vice president, Aunt Grace was in hysterics, his fathers were either dating other people are were fucking dying, and his vampiric stepfather wasn't in the picture.

No Butcher. No James. No Hughie. No John. No Grace. No Lenny. No Tommy.

No. Way. Home.

He was so fucked.

Ryan was snooping around his father's apartment in Vought Tower; there had to be something here that could help him find the supe who sent him here. He could be alive during this time, and Ryan needed to go home before he changed too many things. He was rummaging through Homelander's drawers when he heard someone speak, entering the apartment.

Still standing between the two, Maeve crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight onto her right leg, picking up on the sudden weirdness between the two younger supes. A confused frown slowly pulled at her features as she had caught wind of Ryan's little slip up, it sounded an awful lot like he was about to call Hughie "Dad", and Maeve was many things, but stupid wasn't one of them. So she knew there was something going on that she wasn't supposed to know about. But for now, she'd only brush it off. There were far more important things at play here rather that what the fuck that was just then.

"Okay..." She'd remark somewhat awkwardly before going onto answering the question Lenny asked before.

"Well, my plan was to go hunt down these idiots as soon as we found out who they were. I want to know what or who they were looking for, and who knows, I might just get a little payback for what they did to your brother too... Either that or I'll be on my way and MM and I will continue to follow up on some leads we've got on Neuman."

Maeve would have received an urgent message from Annie. Basically, a trio had broken into The Boys HQ.

Butcher and Hughie were currently dealing with it, and Annie claimed that she couldn't explain it over text.

When Maeve arrives, the trio in question are hanging around the main area. The twins were talking, the male plucking at an electric guitar.

The blonde male was talking to Butcher, while Hughie listened closely.

The blonde turns when Maeve walks in.

"Hey, Auntie Maggie," he greets calmly, holding up a hand in a wave.

Maeve was following up on a few leads with MM by the time Annie had sent her the oh so very ominous text, leaving Maeve feeling a little... uneasy?

Urgent or not, Annie was never one to be vague with Maeve, she always told her what was going on there and then. So, the fact that whatever it was couldn't be explained over text was a little odd.

Upon both her and MM's arrival into the team's office in the Flat Iron building, Maeve's attention was immediately on the triplet who called out to her.

Being a part of a family and being called "Auntie" was still something she was getting used to. She wasn't exactly brought up in a loving family, so the warmth of people was something she was still doing her best with processing. She had a lot of self doubt and it showed by how she interacted with the triplets, and although she didn't like how she acted with them, she couldn't manage to stop herself from being a little distant.

With her hands on her hips as she stood by Kimiko's desk, she'd reply with a soft "Hey." before looking at everyone else in the room and then looking back at the triplet, lifting her brows a little at the awkwardness. "Okay, anyone wanna tell me what's going on?"

Babysitting Butcher Chapter 44

Our first day back could be considered pretty boring by most standards.  I went through the files and mail that Anthony had handed me upon arrival, Billy dealt with emails and voicemails.  Nothing was too extreme, for the most part Congresswoman Neuman had kept the office running by keeping the chain of command the same, just without me or Billy in the loop.  Simple enough.  MM and Frenchie were unofficially official enough to contend with most issues, so they did.  

Paperwork and requisitions went through Joseph and his group, Anthony manned the entry point and the building didn’t go to shit without us. 

We went out to lunch and when we came back we were ready to get back in the true swing of things, with an after lunch mini dessert break, when we heard the type of ruckus that only occurred when a supe showed up unannounced.  One particular supe.  A massive asshole of a supe who wore a cape and chemically raped me to the point that I almost fucking died, type of supe.  

Billy looked like he wished he had the laser eyes that Ryan had been gifted with from birth at the cacophony coming from the direction of the front of the office.  And honestly, there was a part of me that kind of wished that I hadn’t been so damn insistent on them being light-handed with the Compound V in my own recovery.  Super strength or flaming breath would come in real handy when faced with a fucktwat who caused the need for my recovery.

“Ah, Dr. Taylor,” the blonde haired, crinkle eyed, grinning psychopathic superpowered fucker greeted me when I opened my office door to the noise of his adoring fans and found him standing just outside.  “I heard you were back at work and couldn’t help from wanting to come see that you were truly completely well again.”  He was holding a bouquet of- was that fucking cookies?!  “Here, I had Ashley check to be sure that you didn’t have any food allergies,” he held out the cookie bundle.  “She promised she did her due diligence, so I got you dessert.”  Fuck you, I wanted to say, but we had an avidly watching audience.  

Forcing my lips to cooperate and arch into a semblance of a smile, I took the cookie arrangement from him, careful to not touch his glove covered hands.  “Thank you, Homelander, how kind of you.”  Sick fuck, bringing a fucking gift to your victim.�� Jesus, the amount of shit wrong with you could fill a fucking entire goddamn book.  “You probably have a strict schedule so-”

“No, I cleared my day,” he announced and I wanted to be able to maim him so badly that I felt certain that it was telegraphed on my face, my thoughts had to be so loud that beings in space could hear them.  “As the head of this very important office, your wellbeing is paramount, Dr. Taylor, Veronica, if I may?”  I stared at him, wondering how it was possible for one body to hold so many fucking behavioral and mental issues.  “If you’d step aside,” his voice had lowered, and I felt my hackles raise automatically at the intimacy of it.  “I won’t have to continue this farce where the entire fucking building can watch.”

“Please come in,” I stepped back, feeling Billy’s body head close to my back and the tension that had built throughout my interaction with Homelander start to untwist.  Once inside, the door snapped shut behind him and I allowed the false smile to drop.  “What the literal hell do you think you’re doing here?”  

“We all have parts to play,” Homelander offered, moving further into the office and looking around with interest.  I watched as his eyes landed on the spot where I’d nearly bled out and I nearly threw the fucking cookies at his head, but his shoulders drooped and I stopped myself.  “I didn’t know that the mix would have that effect.”  His tone was quiet again, less intimate, I wasn’t even sure I was supposed to hear him.

“Might not have known it, but it did.” Billy snapped, taking the cookies from me and sitting them on the desk so my hands were free.  “Nearly killed her, right here.”  He pulled me behind the desks, and sat in his chair, pulling me to sit next to him.  “If you came to apologize, we don’t accept.”

Homelander turned, and for a moment I thought he looked almost shocked that we were even in the room.  “Apologize?  For what?”  The ego was firmly back in place, spine ramrod straight, tone condescending.  “I told you not to be so quick to rush to decision making.  You chose to rid yourself of my parasite,” he was staring at me, to him Billy seemed invisible.  “It nearly killed you, that was your choice, not mine.”  

“My choice,” I stared up at him, listening to what he was saying through a filter of who he was, how he’d come to be who he was.  “I made my choice after you chose to chemically rape me.  After you chose to take away my choice in having your parasite injected into me and then, as if that wasn’t nearly enough, you had me chemically modified with a contagion that was in the reject pile at the lab that created you.”  I shook my head.  “Get out.”  

“Get out?”  He was smirking and I could feel the tension that I’d felt at the door building in Billy with every moment that he lingered.  “Now, Veronica, is that anyway to treat someone who brought you a welcome back gift?”  

“Get the fuck out,” I corrected, not raising my voice, not showing him a moment of fear or hesitation.  “Now.”

“Fine.”  He agreed, eyes finally sliding to Billy.  “I’ll go, but I do have to ask one last thing.”  I reached out and took Billy’s hand in mine, linking our fingers to keep him calm.  “How does it feel to know that even if you decide you want kids, you can’t have them with her?”  

I’m not entirely sure how I managed to keep Billy from attacking him.  Perhaps it was because the question wasn’t one that triggered him, not like one Homelander might have landed had he physically raped me like he had Becca.  Billy wasn’t interested in having kids, I knew that, he knew that, hell I think even Homelander knew it.  I also know, and I think that the caped Asshole was banking on it, that when you’re definitely NOT going to be able to have something that’s when you REALLY want it.  

He left, more loud announcements, more confirmations of how happy he was to see the ‘fearless’ head of the Office of Supe Affairs in her rightful place, more vomit worthy bullshit and then he was gone.  

Billy was a ball of tension that I feared would take me days to unwind, but then another knock came to the door and in walked Hughie and for a moment I saw what my report mentioned.  Hughie and Lennie, the way Billy connected the two of them, and even after how Billy had tortured the younger man with Annie’s former superhero boyfriend, they still had that sibling-like relationship.  

I was typing up the rest of the week’s schedule, thinking that getting back in the true swing of things would do a body good, so their banter didn’t fully register until Billy’s hand touched the back of my neck.  Looking up at his smiling, dimpled face I knew I missed something I was expected to catch.

“I was telling Hughie that I think we should have a party at the house,” I raised an eyebrow.  Billy wasn’t the most social of creatures.  “Our new house, Ronnie, since the boys helped get it safe and orderly, why not?”

“Mom and Dad should be included,” I reminded him, and his smile grew, now that my parents had managed to get their matching sticks removed from their asses they were much more fun to hang out with.  “When?”

When was two weekends out, so we could plan and get enough food and everyone could be sure to be able to come.  Hughie made Billy promise that he WOULDN’T invite Soldier Boy for shits and giggles and I swore that I’d make him keep it.  When the smiling boy left, I turned to the love of my life and asked the one question that popped to mind.

“What the hell got into you?”

He pulled my chair closer to his, and leaned forward so our foreheads could touch.  “I love you.  I love our house and our new life.”  I nodded, smiling as he rubbed his nose against mine.  “I wanna share it with them, our people.”  

“Our family?”  He smiled and I felt my heart catch.  “What about Terror?”  His grin grew and I added in his aunt.  Then pushing my luck a little further, I asked for something that I knew might be a bridge too far, but it was something I wanted.  “Can I meet Ryan?”

Pennsylvania’s Historic Delaware County

Joe Cosgrove began his career in the pharmaceuticals industry in 1989 as a general sales consultant for Neuman Health Services, Inc. He has also held senior roles at such firms as DuPont Pharmaceuticals and Cardinal Health, Inc. Since 2008, Joe Cosgrove has served as president, CEO, and director of Pentec Health, Inc., in Boothwyn, Pennsylvania. A census-designated place in the southernmost portion of Pennsylvania’s Delaware County, Boothwyn sits in the state’s southeast corner. The county, which is about 190 square miles and home to about 560,000 residents, borders Philadelphia on its northeast side and the state of Delaware to the southwest. To the southeast, the Delaware River forms the border with New Jersey. With 3,039 people per square mile, it is one of the most densely populated counties in the country, and the second most densely populated county in Pennsylvania, behind only Philadelphia. The original inhabitants of eastern Pennsylvania were the Lenni-Lenape American Indian tribe. Henry Hudson was likely the first European to encounter and explore the land, and at various times since Europeans arrived it has been claimed by the Swedes, Dutch, and English. Though it was the first part of the colony of Pennsylvania to be settled, due to its easy access to the Delaware River, the main settlement wound up to the north, in Philadelphia. In 1789, the eastern portion of Chester County was separated from the rest and, for its position on the river, renamed Delaware County. Among many historical treasures, Delaware County is home to the oldest public building in the U.S., the Old Chester Courthouse, built in 1724. The City of Chester, the county’s largest, was the capital of the colony in 1682, and was the site of the General Assembly’s adoption of William Penn’s “Great Law of Pennsylvania,” which granted citizenship, voting rights, freedom of religion, and trial by jury to all who settled in Pennsylvania. Other major historical sites in Delaware County include the Brandywine battlefield in Chadd’s Ford, the William Penn landing site in Chester, and the William Brinton 1704 House near West Chester.

@fuckyeahtheboys No yeah I totally agree with you that they are purposefully staging the scenes with Becca and Hughie. Now, like @mrsaquaman187 said whether that’s leading to a romantic or platonic thing, we can’t know yet, but I definitely feel like the writers used those few interactions to highlight that Becca and Hughie are similar and that Becca wholeheartedly approves of Hughie. Now, whether that approval stems from the fact that Becca is just happy to have someone be there for Billy or as a potential romantic partner to Billy remains to be seen. Even in the comics like @mrsaquaman187 suggested, Billy always had a soft smile for Hughie, and he always looked out for the man. That translates here, definitely.

Even the scene with the Lenny background story, Hughie looks uncomfortable with being compared to Lenny. That could be either because he wants to be seen as more, or that he’s uncomfortable meaning that much to Billy (which doesn’t quite sit right after everything they’ve been through at that point).

But yeah, I myself am a big fan of Butchie and I want to see this as a sign that Hughie and Billy have Becca’a approval. I think we’ll definitely see more of their relationship and how it evolves in season 3 though after they’ve had some time apart and Hughie ends up in whatever mess Neuman is gonna guide him towards.

hey so I may have asked this before but do y’all have any thoughts on the Hughie and Becca thing in the last couple episodes of season 2?

Like I did not go into season 2 shipping Billy/Hughie but when Becca and Hughie were each talking about each other to Butcher, it really seemed like the writers were trying to set up something? idk it seemed out of place for some reason - like they were trying to maximize the minimal time those two had around each other to really stress that they were alike or something.

Maybe they’re just setting up Hughie and Butcher to have a deep bond that isn’t necessarily romantic? or Hughie is going to fill the emotional gap that Becca’s death left in Butcher? or maybe they were in fact trying to show that Hughie like has Becca’s “blessing.”

I just can’t imagine the writers going that far from the source material and actually having a gay™ relationship between two mains. Unless it’s just one sided on Hughie’s part or something?

I don’t know - am I reading to much into this or did the Hughie and Becca stuff seem like it was setting up something?
