Das Ergebnis aus der Verkreisung des Quadrats ist der Protein Cookie! Ein knuspriger Keks mit weißer Schokolade, Mandeln oder Karamell, der aber feinste Sportlernahrung darstellt, kalorienreduziert und mit extra viel Protein. Ist das nicht herrlich: Diese Kekse kann man naschen und dabei abnehmen und man tut auch noch was gutes für die Gesundheit – ein Traum wird wahr!

Kein Wunder, dass viele Hersteller da mitmachen wollen und selbst bei Lidl und Aldi jetzt Protein Cookies von Weider in den Schütten für die Sonderposten auftauchen: in den trendigen, typisch amerikanischen Geschmacksrichtungen Double Choc Chips, Caramel Chocolate Fudge und American Cookie Dough. Ja, richtig, ein Keks mit Keksteig-Füllung, irre!

Andere Hersteller haben bereits Proteinriegel oder Proteinpulver auf dem Markt und ergänzen ihre Portfolios um die Kekse, so zum Beispiel Body Attack, Iron Maxx oder nu3 aus Berlin. Alle drei Kekse sind interessanterweise auch in der Sorte “White Chocolate Almond” – diese Sorte scheint unter den Kunden des Functional Foods besonders beliebt zu sein.

Die Protein-Kekse wiegen zwischen 40 und 113 Gramm, sind fast immer einzeln verpackt und werden einzeln oder in Kartons mit 12 oder 18 Stück verkauft. Mir gefallen die Verpackungen gut, die besonders originell oder comicmäßig aufgemacht sind, wie zum Beispiel der Cookie von Lenny & Larry’s mit der witzigen Zeichnung darauf oder die Cookie-Verpackungen von Body Attack oder All Stars mit den unregelmäßigen Schrifttypen.
