It's Done (I think): Monster Rancher Battle Card Restoration Project

All Monster and Skill cards have had their bevels re-done, and no text revisions have been spotted in the last month.

The only thing I think I can do at this point is re-do the card templates, but maybe that's a project for next year.

Also re-did the Phoenix card border. More clear with same textures.

So the Monster Rancher wikia site is now actually REALLY shitty. What the hell happened to it? You used to see the entire species/subspecies list and now you just see the purebreeds. Who the hell was put in charge of deciding who needs edit it? I want to see the entirety of what the species has to offer at a glance like you used to. And n o the disambiguation page is not it.

The site used to be good. What the fuck.

Edit: Holy shit this actually has me far more irritated and pissed off than I imagined. I’m a small ball of rage.

Phase 2: Monster Farm Battle Card Restoration Project

Now that the worst of the card scans and photos have been replaced, most images are between "acceptable" and "good" now. However, There's still room for improvement.

We are searching for Hologram versions of cards that are very elusive. Many are hard to find so we've had to resort to looking at Auction sites and such. Often these are captured at an angle with poor lighting so they have to me meticulously adjusted

Additionally going through and finding opportunities for Color Corrections... such as this one, to bring Pixie's palette more in line with the actual colors...

And revising Trim/border textures. This was my first attempt at texturing. The attempt on the left looks a little 8-Bit NES Mario brick-ish. Adjusting how textures are applied and tweaking the angle a little can really help with asymmetry .

Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher Background/Wallpapers

Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher has some really neat images during the game credits. Thankfully there is a few frames where there is no text overlaying the images.

Monster Rancher Battle Card -- This wasn't just a GameBoy or PSX game, this was a legitimate actual card game in Japan, but it never got a physical release outside of Japan. (There was a MR TCCG that was based on the anime but it was not remotely the same)

This was a card previewer I created using the cards from the now retired website mrbc.com which is archived on LegendCup as well.
