Tumblr media
This what Lebohang had to say…
Which artist inspired you to become a worship artist?
Israel Houghton, how his music embraces differences in people.
What is your current go-to worship song?
Come to the River - Housefires
What is your favourite verse from the Bible?
Psalm 139 which says, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.”
Do you prefer Movies or Reading?
Movies, they are more entertaining and it’s over sooner than a book.
Do you prefer Traveling or Staying at Home?
I enjoy travelling because it’s not something that I get to do much of.
Who inspires you?
My mom. Her heart and her patience embody the Proverbs 31 Woman. She is a hard worker and takes good care of her family.
Which international artist would you love to collaborate with?
Steffany Gretzinger former member of Bethel.
What church do you attend?
CRC, Midrand. I am a part of the worship team.
If you weren’t in worship and the music industry what would you be doing?
I would probably be in the media as a journalist.
Who is your favourite preacher?
Currently, it’s Cheryl Brady
If you had one message to give to your fans what would it be?
Everything that we do, let it be done out of love.
What kind of legacy do you hope your ministry leaves behind?
That my music should glorify God and that other worshippers should be edified to rise on also glorifying God.
See a more in-depth interview and a live performance of Lebohang Kgapola on Sunday 11 August @ 6:00 pm on TBN in Africa, DStv channel 343.

When you have worked with some of South Africa’s great and award winning artists like Khaya Mthethwa, Neville D, Ernie Smith, Loyiso Bala, Lira, Kelly Khumalo, Brian Temba, Musa Sukwene, Robbie Malinga and including internationally acclaimed Grammy award winning Israel Houghton, that is definitely an indication of how amazingly talented you are. Lebohang Kgapola ticks off all the boxes for working with these artists, and for her that is just the beginning. But who is Lebohang Kgapola? Well, born and bred in Mpumalanga, Lebohang is a middle child of three, raised in a Christian home where her burning passion for singing began in church at the tender age of 7. Her extraordinary unique hoarse alto tone came to light on Sunday mornings, belting out solo performances of classics such as “Amazing grace”, “Lamb of God” and “I surrender all”. These are counted her all-time favourite songs which carry sentimental value to this bubbly extrovert. Her musical journey began taking shape when she moved to Pretoria in 2011, to fully focus on performing and studying part time. Here she performed with various bands that included the likes of Just Friends, Apple Soul, Zuri-Afrika, Morning Dew, Den Wade, Paseka, Morayks and Dj Micks. Her blossoming music career continued to grow rapidly, aided by her ability to sing almost any music genre. This saw her excellently doing backup vocals for different artists whose music genres vary, from Afro pop, jazz, house, kwaito, RnB, hip pop to Afrikaans music. This also led to her being able to be cast or featured in various TV shows that included Afro Café, Gospel Alive, Gospel Classics, SA Idols (where she performed with Khaya), Stripped Down and the game show ‘I LOVE South Africa’. Her coverage by the media included being interviewed on Dumisa TV, SABC2 Morning Live and SABC3 Expresso. She also was featured on Sunday Sun and twice in a local Christian newspaper KRUSH in her hometown. #lebohang #kgapola #live #dvd #album #recording #launch #show #gospel #christian #music #song #ministration #power #joy #peace #happy #cute #lovely #beautiful #pic #holy #glory #photooftheday #picoftheday #instadaily #like4like #follow4follow #commentforco (at City Life Church - Johannesburg)

Lebohang Kgapola selected to showcase at SXSW2018
NelSeg Entertainment announced that Lebohang Kgapola will showcase at the Kingdom Experience in Austin, Texas, USA, from 15 to 18 March 2018.
Lebohang Kgapola
Kingdom Experience is the main Gospel showcase at the Annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Music festival. SXSW Music is the largest music festival of its kind in the world, with more than 2,000 acts as of 2014. The festival in 2017 attracted 70,696 SXSW conference attendees, 5,088 conference speakers, 4,122 media/press attendance and 95 countries represented by registrants. This was the event’s 32nd edition. The city of Austin, often called “The Live Music Capital of the World” because of its large number of live music venues, played host as in the other years.
Lebohang’s selection to showcase at SXSW followed a rigorous selection process that started early in the year. While many other artists have already performed at SXSW in previous years, Lebohang has become the first South African artist to be selected to feature on the Kingdom Experience stage. Notable artists that have been part of this stage in the past includes multiple Grammy award winning Kirk Franklin, The Walls Group, Da T.R.U.T.H and many others. For SXSW 2018 overall, she’s also only the second South African artist selected thus far, the other being AKA. More artists could be announced in the near future.
It’s been a great year for Lebohang, whose career included having worked as a backing vocalist for various award-winning artists like Khaya Mthethwa, Neville D, Ernie Smith, Loyiso Bala, Lira, Brian Temba, Musa Sukwene, Robbie Malinga and including internationally acclaimed Grammy award winning Israel Houghton. In August she won an Ingoma Award (Independent National Gospel Music Award) at the 4th Annual SA Ingoma Awards held at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg.
On 11 November 2017 she recorded her live DVD in Johannesburg. This is set to be released locally in 2018. The CD Launch is scheduled to take place at Yamaha Theatre on 24 February 2018. Pre-bookings to attend the launch can be done by emailing [email protected]. SXSW2018 will be used as a platform for the international release of the same album.
Lebohang continues to minister at various venues around the country. Her full schedule is available on her website. For bookings one can e-mail [email protected] or call 082 928 4305.

Every Girl has a Dream event comes to Pretoria
Criselda Dudumashe and Sthandiwe Kgoroge will be in Pretoria this weekend to share their life stories and impart wisdom to young women in the area.
They will be part of an event entitled “Every Girl has a Dream”. This is part of a series of events that have been taking place around Gauteng, helping empower young women and igniting their dreams.
According to Nonhlanhla Mdluli, who is the founder, their mission at Every Girl has a Dream is “to empower girls and young women to reach their dreams. “We encourage their ambition and empower their confidence, but most of all, the mentees and mentors in our program are shown the power of sisterhood, community and self-love. We provide them with the tools to help them along the journey, while giving them the opportunity to surround themselves with like-minded young women,” she concluded.
The two speakers for the event, Criselda and Sthandiwe, boast a lot of experience and are no strangers to the South African public. Criselda has spent a larger part of her career changing lives of millions through various Radio talk shows. She also owns a consultancy and talk service called Positive Talk Services, focusing amongst other services on workplace wellness programs and advocating for total well-being and this includes topics on: Self-development, growth, personal financial management, psychological well-being, nutrition, rest and recreation, love, life and relationships, health, and sexually transmitted disease management. Amongst her prominent engagements includes representing South Africa in New York during the United Nations General Assembly Special Meeting on communicable diseases in 2006.

Other television series she has acted in include Only Love, Pedro the Music Man, the Heartlines film Second Chances and the second season of Snitch.
To bring musical diversity to the event is an amazing up and coming musician, Lebohang Kgapola. Although not having recorded her full album yet, Lebohang is no stranger to the music industry. ReMade: A Night of Worship with Nombulelo Tshefu
Gospel Music lovers are expected to flock to Rhema this Saturday evening, where the multitalented Nombulelo Tshefu will be hosting a night of worship.
Having already worked with the likes of Ntokozo and Nqubeko Mbatha, Mahalia Buchanan, Khaya Mthethwa, Vincent Bones, Benjamin Dube and many others in the past, this amazing songstress from Alexandra Township, north of Johannesburg, is expected to raise the bar to levels not seen before.
Many may remember her from SABC’s popular gospel music talent show, “I want to sing Gospel”, where she made it all the way to the Top 5. That marked the beginning of her professional music career, and since then, she never looked back. Her sound and passion resonate from her own personal relationship and experience with God, and she best describes herself as a “Grace Ambassador” as she believes that “we all need a Saviour and Redeemer”, that being Jesus Christ.
She’s also Alex FM breakfast show co-host, a motivational speaker, a BA graduate and an entrepreneur of note. The worship night is one of Nombulelo’s many concerts, simply themed “ReMade”. ReMade is really about love, about surrender, about a life of relationship with God and definitely about grace. It’s a story of redemption told through music.
On the night, she will also be joined by two other amazingly talented worshippers, Khaya Sibanyoni and Lebohang Kgapola. Khaya is the founder of Young True Worshippers of God and also currently a member of Joyous Celebration. Lebohang is also no stranger to the music industry, she has been featured on Khaya’s award winning live DVD, The Dawn, Loyiso’s Kingdom Come studio album and Ernie Smith’s album called Closer. She also worked with other artists like Israel Houghton & New Breed, Brian Temba and Neville D.
If you are eager for an amazing evening of worship, then this is definitely a must attend event for you. It takes place at Rhema Bible Church in Randburg. Date is 29 April and the starting time is 18:00, with doors opening at 17:00. Tickets costs R150 and are available online at Quicket (https://www.quicket.co.za/events/27939-remade/#/). They will also be available for sale at the door.
