Do You Often Search For Laptop Rental Near Me? If Yes, We Might A Solution!
Tumblr media
Stop searching for laptop rental near me all the time because we are here for you now! As a business owner, you should always be on the lookout for opportunities to increase your profits, and we think that renting out computers could be a great place to start. We aren't suggesting you put off buying that new laptop you've had your eye on. We're only suggesting that it would be more cost-effective for you to rent a laptop than of buying one. In the early stages of a business or freelance job, it's important to give serious consideration to every option. In light of this, we decided to help you see the benefits of renting a laptop computer.
Low-cost for the budget
Sometimes it's tough to buy the laptop you want since you have your heart set on a high-end model that's out of your price range. Instead of settling for less, consider renting a laptop and paying it off over time with EMIs. You may always go for the high quality without breaking the bank, whether you're buying for yourself or the entire employees at your company.
Modernize to the most recent release
You'll buy a product, and then a few days later, a newer, better model will hit store shelves. You scold yourself for being impatient and swear at the company for releasing an updated model so quickly. This is especially painful when it involves a laptop, which you tend to maintain for a long time and for which you often pay a large sum all at once.
If you rent a laptop instead of buying it, you can always get the newest model as soon as it comes out, so you'll never have to be sorry you did. You may get your work done without any problem if you use modern software like Mac or Windows.
Tumblr media
There are no holdups
We aren't discussing the time it takes for consumers to get from hearing about a product to purchasing it. You should put aside money for at least a year if you want to buy a high-quality laptop, and for at least six months if you don't want to use credit. There may be a completely newer and more expensive model available by the time you decide to buy.
Getting a laptop on rent, however, can eliminate the need to save for so long, since the monthly rent may be much lower than the EMI you'd be paying or the money you'd be saving toward buying the laptop outright. The laptop can be ordered and delivered to your door on the day of your choosing.
Make the necessary adjustments to suit your needs
IT leasing companies may typically provide laptops in any desired configuration and any desired quantity. Despite best intentions, bulk purchases aren't always feasible. On top of that, you can always ask for better customization depending on the needs and processes. You can order any kind of laptop you like, from a high-end gaming machine to a regular MacBook or Windows laptop.
Tumblr media
Eliminate the need for costly repairs and upkeep
If you want a laptop, it's up to you to pay for it. Repairs and upkeep are entirely your responsibility. As long as it is a long-term investment for a stable company with a lot of customers coming and going, it is fine. But if you've just been in business for a few years or are just getting started, you should know that what you're doing currently isn't the best investment in terms of both buying and keeping laptops. As service is typically the duty of your IT rental company, renting a laptop can help you avoid this hassle. If you make your payments on time, fixing your laptops won't be a problem.
Conclusion
For the aforementioned causes, renting a laptop is a practical solution that will ensure your continued exposure to cutting-edge technology. Feel free to visit our website, if you have any interest in finding out more about us or reaching out to discuss our sound system hire.

The other day someone who I am pretty positive is well meaning (like they just have bad foot in mouth syndrome, I do too so I get it) lowkey implied I’m well off and spoiled and it really hurt.
Sometimes I feel like I’m stuck between a rock & a hard place. I’m in a lot, A LOT of money in debt rn with my personal bank account. I’m in overdraft that’s going to take at least 2 paychecks to pay it off & put me in the black in a way that allows me to simply eat.
Then another 2 paycheks to get rent and bills covered ---> back in the red.
A list of things of mine currently falling apart:
- All of my shoes, my backpack, my winter jacket, my purse & a good chunk of my jeans/bottoms.
I haven’t taken my birth control in months because I can’t afford it on top of my antidepressants & anxiety meds leaving me to struggle with dysphoria & bloody painful cramps.
I’ve been job hunting for MONTHS just to get something that isn’t minimum wage as a student in my LAST YEAR OF MY UNDERGRADUATE. Moving back in with my parents doesn’t simply mean a loss of freedom, but also a decline in my mental health. Moving in with them solves the issue of rent but not the issue of bills & the amount of money needed to cover CC debt and living expenses.
My family is still very low income & below the poverty line $$$ money wise.
I still owe my parents $500 for my laptop, part of it interest fees accumulated from CC bills and part of the laptop money I still need to pay off. I paid for my macbook completely by myself. The phone I have currently, they thankfully paid off half of it for me as a gift but that still leaves me approx. $600 to pay, which I am paying off monthly through my phone bill.
I’m paying for my insurance on my own because my parents don’t have insurance that covers me. I am, for all intents and purposes, a legal adult who is 100% and I do mean 100% because I’m the fucking COSIGNER OF MY OWN LEASE an independent paying my own way through life.
There is nothing about me that is spoiled. I will gladly shop at walmart when in need of clothing, I understand the value of money, I had my own savings account ffs which was all my money. Not money from family, but *mine*. I am nowhere near well off.
Anyway wow that was a long ass post but basically I’m so stressed but the reason I can afford nice things occasionally is because I grew up poor and have learned the second I was out of a diaper (not even pull-ups) how to maximize your money to the best of your abilities. Fuck I’m outta groceries and still going strong with what I have. Literally gonna have roasted tomatoes & potatoes w/ an egg for dinner because I’m eating everything I can rn out of a necessity even if it’s not meant to be consumed the way I do it. Food is food!
Shit doesn’t phase me externally because I can handle my poor. I understand some folks have rich parents and money and still struggle and on the outside it looks like I got my shit together but bruh ... I don’t. I’m just better at playing this game than you because this game has been my life for well, my entire life.

The 10X Investment Consumption Rule To Fix Bad Spending Habits
Once your housing expense is under control, the next thing to tame is your consumption habits. The most common waste of money today is buying an automobile. New cars are simply too expensive for the median household income. But because car manufacturers have created ways for consumers to stretch with financing and leasing deals, consumers succumb to marketing persuasion and buy cars they cannot comfortably afford.
If consumers follow my 1/10th rule for car buying, almost all of one’s financial problems, as it pertains to a car, will go away. If you spend only 10% of your gross income on the current value of a car, you won’t sweat paying insurance, paying tickets, or paying for maintenance or damages.  If you want a $30,000 car, you should find a way to make $300,000.
Now that we have a viable solution for automobile buying, the next bad consumption habit to slay is everything else you don’t need i.e. wants. From buying $3,000 Louis Vuitton handbags to spending $9,000 on a Panerai watch, there are a lot of wants that will prevent us from achieving financial freedom sooner, rather than later.
Therefore, to solve this problem of mindless consumption, I’ve come up with The 10X Investment Consumption Rule.
The 10X Investment Consumption Rule
Before I explain to you the rule, let me share a comment from a reader in my post, Here’s When You Know You’re Not Yet Rich Yet. The post talks about wasting 2.5 hours of my life because I was unwilling to spend an extra $100 to fix my cracked iPhone due to sunk cost fallacy. Nate’s comment inspired me to come up with this consumption solution.
Apple continues to be really, really good at social-engineering sheeple to buy their products and services. It has perfected marketing and social engineering. Its users are willing to buy overpriced phones that require overpriced dongles and overpriced support. And even when the users get kicked in the gut, they’ll continue buying Apple over and over again. It’s irrational; it’s also great social engineering that you fell for.
So yes, I am a sheeple for using Apple products. I fell for their marketing and social engineering because I realize their products are so much more expensive than generic PC products. But because their iPhone was so revolutionary when I first got one in 2008 and because Apple built an ecosystem of apps that made their software and hardware easy to use and integrate between a laptop and a mobile phone, I stuck with it.
Unfortunately over this time period, their products seem to be worsening in quality, and their customer support has declined as well. Going to an Apple Store is almost like going to the DMV, a nightmare place.
But after the comment, I realized one of the reasons why I keep buying Apple products is because I’ve owned Apple stock since 2008 and I love supporting companies I invest in.
Owned Apple stock since Aug 22, 2008
The first iPhone came out on June 29, 2007 and I was a skeptic. I had been a heavy Blackberry user since 1999 and couldn’t fathom a buttonless device being good enough for work correspondence. Some of the e-mails I had to write on my Blackberry were extremely lengthy due to the amount of research analysis I had to provide to my clients.
But after a year passed, I decided to give it a shot. And after a couple months of giving it a shot, I bought $10,000 worth of Apple stock. Over the years I’ve ended up buying about $100,000 worth of Apple stock that has since provided a healthy return as the stock is near an all-time high. During this time period, my overall net worth increased as well.
I can basically frame my family’s Apple product consumption of iPhones, Macbooks, and iPads as free since 2009 + a profit thanks to my returns in Apple stock.
The 10X Investment Consumption Rule simply states that before you buy any product or service you don’t need, you must first make an investment return equal to at least 10X the cost of such product or service.
Example #1: Overpriced Mobile Phone
You want to own the absurdly priced iPhone X for $1,000. To do so, you must first make a $10,000 return on Apple stock. You could also make an investment in Apple’s downstream component suppliers as an alternative.
If you follow my rule, you’ll need to review your existing liquidity in order to determine how much you can afford to invest. You’ll have to do a deep dive net worth allocation overview to see where you are currently exposed. You might even run a cash flow analysis to see how long you need to save before you will come up with the investment capital.
If you can’t afford to invest, how can you afford to buy a $1,000 phone? If you’ve only got $10,000 to invest, you realize that you’ll need to return 100% to be able to afford a $1,000 phone. Such a time delay will make you think thrice before buying something you don’t need.
But if you have $100,000 to invest, it might be easier for you to make a 10% return to afford a $1,000 phone. And since you have $100,000 to invest in one stock, that must mean you have much more behind, which means you absolutely can afford to splurge.
The goal is to transform from a consumer mindset to an investor mindset.
Example #2: Basketball Sneakers For Show
You want to own the latest colorways of the Jordan 3, Jordan 4, Jordan 5, and Jordan 6 shoes. The total cost for this box set is $900. Before you waste money on basketball shoes you’ll use to just walk around in, you’ve got to return at least $9,000 in Nike stock.
I swear to goodness, every time I go to a Footlocker or Nike Store when a new Air Jordan retro drops, there are lines out the door filled with teenagers and 20-somethings, the poorest demographic in our country.
By spending hours researching the company that’s taking all their money, Air Jordan consumers will understand more about how a business is run. Sometimes, they’ll discover some products have a 90% gross profit margin, which makes them stop consuming for not wanting to feel stupid. Other times, they might be inspired to start their own business to capture such profit margin.
Standing in line for the latest retro Jordans
Example #3: European Vacation
Instead of driving an hour to the beach for just $10 of gas, you just have to fly to Santorini for $1,000. The trip will be fabulous for your Instagram and Facebook profile.
The 10X Investment Consumption rule means that you’ll have to make $10,000 in an airline stock like United Airlines (UAL). That’s no easy task, especially with oil prices moving higher, but that’s the whole point.
By the time you finish researching and investing in your favorite airline stock, you’ll understand how to measure available seat miles (ASM), revenue per available seat mile (RASM), cost per available seat mile (CASM), break-even load factor, and earnings sensitivity to a dollar in oil price change.
Or maybe you might want to do research on TripAdvisor (TRIP) to figure out when the slow season is to find the best Santorini deals. After all, you’ll also have to spend money on lodging, food, and entertainment.
Adopt The Investor Mindset
Having a savings + investing mindset will always ensure that you make enough money before spending. If you can do this, you will never go broke. Instead, you’ll likely grow rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Royal Prince William Proposed To Kate Along With Diana Ring On Hill.
LUKLA, Nepal/KATHMANDU (News Agency) - As saviors drop hope from locating much more survivors in Nepal's quake catastrophe area, a different dramatization has unravelled higher over them on Mount Everest where the chances from a handful of rich mountain climbers and also some of their sherpas have actually likewise disappeared. Pussy-cats maintain their claws retracted when walking along, with the exception of cheetahs.2 Where I live, I often view printings with claw proofs that are clearly a canine or coyote, although I have observed genuine mountain lion tracks on rare celebrations. With the incorporated length there is a tendency for these to move (slip) on your take care of clubs so keep in mind along with the included leaverage that this set provides you have to secure them up completely and examine all of them regularl, other than that I have located these to become a great addition to my mountain bike.
Tumblr media
Mountain cycling is an interest for those who adore enjoying that. It needs nerves from steel and also is undoubtedly certainly not recommended for the weak hearted. This is so attractive that Gary Crill, Mountain range Meadow top dog, notifies me that both dealers and also people are actually acquiring these origins certainly not just as a work device, however, for guns feature in properties, shops, or even at gun programs. Riders from mountain bikes ought to actually understand that when out on their bikes that things can easily occasionally make a mistake. Cougar additionally offers Power Snooze, an ingenious brand-new feature that keeps your MacBook Pro along with RetinaTM display as well as MacBook Air (second and also 3rd generation) around time while it sleeps. The Reddish Bull Rampage is actually renowned as one from the greatest combination exams of toughness, bold, as well as ability in professional hill cycling Coming from 2001 to 2004, the competition was held off the Kolob Balcony Roadway near the western end of Zion National forest.
The volume of false-starts, hurdles, and barriers I, and also my other half Oksana, faced just before reaching the bottom from the mountain was actually Beprettywomen.Info simply overcome by subterfuge, luck, and a good reputation. Iron Mountain range was actually offered because of the method, as well as other are actually slated for the leave door. Or ride along Arkansas's outstanding Ozark Mountain range paths, halting to fish the rivers as well as check out Dogpatch, UNITED STATE, and also Silver Buck City. As of the end of Q3-17, Iron Hill had actually decreased its own lease adjusted take advantage of ratio to 5.5 x off 5.8 x in Q2 and also improved the ability readily available on the center structure continuing to be.
Tumblr media
You have all the ingredients for the best evening in one area; really good music, Italian dishes (the hands-down epitome of romantic food; believe, Woman and the Tramp!), candlelight, cool, mountain range air, fantastic red or white wines or even some privacy. OS X Server demands Cougar and also are going to be actually accessible in July from the Macintosh Application Store for $19.99 (United States). Problem, exhaustion, poor cravings, nausea or vomiting, puking, light-headedness and rest disturbances that build six to 12 hours after ascension all could be symptoms of hill sickness, the article warns. Thus merely merely selecting a mountain bicycle trip, or even going for a swim, or getting into doing yoga class, or even one thing as basic as selecting a walk, or maybe even carrying out jumping jacks when no one is actually appearing are going to produce a drug store of knowledge within your mind which will definitely impact your psychology, your neurobiology, and also your internal life, makings you only believe a whole lot better. Re-vegetation is difficult as plants almost always cannot develop leaving mountain range tops that have actually been hydro-seeded. Day opportunity fundamentals still apply during a night time mtb experience, featuring water, high electricity foods items and also a cut kit.

Hackers Dissect ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 4 Episode 5: ‘Method Not Allowed’
Episode 5 of Mr. Robot’s final season was riveting. We discussed [SPOILERS, obvs] burning evidence, fake ideas, physical security, social engineering, firmware updates, lockpicking, 3D fingerprints, and more. (The chat transcript has been edited for brevity, clarity, and chronology.)
This week’s team of experts includes:
Emma Best: a former hacker and current journalist and transparency advocate with a specialty in counterintelligence and national security.
Bill Budington: a long-time activist, security trainer, and a Senior Staff Technologist at the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Jason Hernandez: Solutions Architect for Bishop Fox, an offensive security firm. He also does research into surveillance technology and has presented work on aerial surveillance.
Harlo Holmes: Director of Digital Security at Freedom of the Press Foundation.
Trammell Hudson: a security researcher who likes to take things apart.
Trammell: That episode was so [AESTHETIC]. I loved that it started with "We don't have to talk," then had ZERO dialogue, and ended with "It's time we talked". It felt like the bold stylistic decisions the show was making back in the earlier seasons.
Emma: Agreed, the aesthetics were very good. It's one of those episodes I'll enjoy watching a breakdown of by film buffs on YouTube. I know there was a lot I didn't get.
Trammell: So many film references and tropes… also looking forward to the film buff analysis.
Burning evidence
Yael: I like how they played “Ode to Joy” right when Darlene found Elliot. I also like how it started out with Elliot trying to "burn the evidence" but, like, burning doesn't always destroy forensic evidence.
Emma: Under the circumstances, it was nearly the best they could do. I would've tried to keep the doors secured shut but broken any side and rear windows (leaving the front windshield intact if possible). That guarantees airflow and maximizes convection, raising the temperature. We're dealing with digital data, and physical damage to the medium helps, but the data can be reconstructed out of heavily damaged materials in ways that it couldn't a few years ago.
Yael: They zoomed in on an automated license plate reader (ALPR), though. ALPRs don't just take license plate images, they also capture photos of drivers and passengers, too.
The Crime Scene
Trammell: Did Dom do anything on the scene, or was it all implied that she handled it by her being there?
Emma: I think she was just looking around and trying to get info.
Yael: Yeah, Janice tells Dom to use her FBI credentials to intercept intel and ID the body… but can you do that? I thought the FBI only had jurisdiction to investigate state crimes if it involved interstate travelers, serial killers, etc.
Trammell: "You give me any of that 'juris-my-dick-tion' crap…"
Emma: She said in a Signal message that she didn't get access on the scene, and that was why she went the other route.
Yael: Her donut phone hack was pretty clever. But I was wondering, why is Dom writing down the license plate numbers of Dark Army vans near the end of the episode? Isn’t it a bit late for that?
Emma: I'm also not sure why the FUOU markings were crossed out on the document Dom looked at. That's something you'd see if it were downgraded or approved for public release, but that wasn't the impression I got with it, especially since there was a color picture attached. You don't usually get that in FOIA releases or leaked documents, lol.
Trammell: Yeah, that clearly wasn't a real FOIA since it didn't █████████ █████(b)(4) and hadn't been photocopied at least ██████ (c)(1) times.
Meeting Location
Yael: Price getting a “bill” that’s a note and then getting the dry cleaner address from a trombone player and then another address in his dry cleaning was pretty clever. I’ve seen people set up two meeting locations (you meet at the first to get the address for the second) but I’ve never seen something like that IRL.
Emma: Pierce chasing the meeting info was a fairly realistic example of when people (or their trusted minions) have to put in the legwork of setting something like that up.
Trammell: Although what's the point of sending Price on an item quest?
Yael: I think to avoid someone else finding out where they're meeting.
Emma: It's also counter-surveillance. Making numerous stops makes it easy to compare anyone showing up at multiple points, and the travel distance provides more opportunities to watch for them. "Running errands" can be a great way to ID a tail. Do it long enough and you can even ID a team working in tandem.
Getting Creds
Yael: I like how Darlene used an AlphaCard Pilot ID card printer for her fake ID, and that Elliot was scouting Virtual Realty’s security, which was conveniently described on its website.
Bill: But…. just because she printed the ID doesn't mean it's valid. By the way, Darlene's fake ID is for "Dolores Haze", who is a character in the novel Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov.
Trammell: Darlene has been using the Dolores Haze moniker since season 1, and it’s how she is listed in Eliott's Signal contacts.
Yael: Darlene’s socially engineered costume was pretty effective, as well as “dropping her purse.”
Bill: Then Elliot comes in with his mad dash to the access control station.
Yael: …and then Darlene "forgetting" her phone was a nice touch.
Trammell: The guard watching Die Hard is more evidence that Diehard is a Christmas movie.
Harlo: The guard at Virtual Realty did all he could do, but they still got pwned. For a Common Access Card, it's recommended to have a photo printed (for the human to verify) and a chip (for machines). Darlene's fake ID was definitely going to fail on the machine-readable side, thus it falls down to the human to verify. But, what can you do when someone inserts the matching photo ID into the employee database?
The Building
Harlo: It’s interesting to think about co-tenancy as a vulnerability.
Trammell: That’s a good point. At many colocation centers that I have visited there is a guard to let people into the server room, but all of the tenants have private cages with locks that the guards explicitly do not have access to.
Harlo: My question about tenancy has to do with the unique ability for attackers to pivot from one point of access to another [eg. gain entry to the gym but wind up in the server room]. That is sooooo 2010s—actually, not uniquely 2010s, even though we have coworking spaces that make that simpler.
Trammell: To update that for 2019 you could probably pull off a coworking space attack against someone with a Macbook and an Apple Watch. Wait for them to go to the restroom or get another coffee and you can probably unlock their machine with the watch’s Bluetooth while they are still close enough.
Harlo: I guess the main problem here is that the company that manages the building has complete access to everything its tenants are leasing. I wouldn't think it super wise for building management to have access to the server floor, but they did, and that's how Elliot and Darlene got in!
Jason: Yeah, I think the physical security would fail most audits.
Harlo: IT ALWAYS DOES.
Jason: The physical access controls at Virtual Realty are just not up to what I'd expect for even a cutrate colocation provider.
Yael: 20/20 hindsight, but I feel like the guard had bad peripheral vision, and he was super slow.
Trammell: He moved at the speed of the plot.
Darlene’s Disguise
Jason: The guard didn't ask why she was there on Christmas day.
Harlo: True. He wanted to be nice. Also, they took advantage of the partner's smoke break or whatever. That's why you have a buddy system, to help you double-check your judgement.
Jason: She's not dressed like anybody who is coming in to work on a server on Christmas day.
Yael: What would her costume have to be?
Jason: More casual. Or some kind of work uniform, if one exists.
Trammell: Seems like a random server maintainer costume for a visit on Christmas day would be whatever she happens to be wearing when she got the call to deal with maintaining the server.
Yael: I feel like women can't always get away with the jeans and hoodie look, though. There are double standards about what people give you shade for wearing.
Jason: Agreed that there are double standards, but there should be some kind of a consistent narrative about why she's coming into the building on Christmas day, ideally designed to exploit the security staff's likely expectations. I think she would have been better off coming into the building in the yoga outfit, saying she's on call and she got paged out of yoga. She could say a hard drive died on a production server and she's new so she got stuck with being on-call over the holidays.
Trammell: I'm not sure I've ever had the ground floor desk ever ask me why I'm coming into the office on a Sunday or after midnight or anything. That's really not their job.
Yael: Would she bring her badge to yoga?
Jason: If she's on call, she better.
Harlo: Darlene's first look provides excellent contrast with her second look: basic Barbie yoga gear. Pretty lucky, if you ask me.
Yael: Well, she also was able to think quickly, too. She’s so good at social engineering.
The Heist
Yael: Elliot got through that combo lock wirelessly with his laptop pretty quickly.
Trammell: That seemed unrealistic. There are hacks against some electronic locks, but most require some sort of connection, and likely some detailed recon to know what models are in use. The camera maintenance panel login was admin/admin. That is 100% realistic.
Yael: So, Elliot updated the firmware, which somehow made the elevator cam turn off… Does it just turn off when the firmware is upgrading? And there’s really no way for anybody to cancel it?
Jason: Firmware updates often overwrite really critical components of memory and disruptions to the process can leave devices in an unusable state, i.e. making it a brick. Software to update firmware usually tries to protect users from this, so there's typically not an easy or safe way to stop an update. Seemed clever to black out cameras with a firmware update.
Trammell: The firmware update running serially (0/152) and taking down the entire system is 100% realistic.
Yael: What does running serially mean?
Trammell: One at a time. So rather than saying "All cameras! Update your firmware!" it says "Camera 1! Update!" and waits for it to finish, then says "Camera 2! Your turn!"
Yael: I guess they should just prevent getting pwned by keeping their firmware updated.
Harlo: Or maybe it explains why they never update.
Emma: Darlene staring at the elevator camera like a total goober was painful to watch.
Yael: Maybe she assumed they'd erase the tape.
Emma: You can't count on wiping the footage, and staring at the camera waiting for it to go out is a dead giveaway that you were involved, while giving them a direct look at your face.
Trammell: It certainly made the break-in easier to have the Kraftwerks makerspace and chemlab in the same building. (And their slogan "Do. Make. Live." is similar to NYC Resistor's "Learn. Share. Make.")
Bill: Regarding the 3D printed fingerprint mold, a 3D printed fingerprint got past Samsung’s Galaxy S10 fingerprint sensor earlier this year. We see the fingerprint is crafted into a .gcode file. "A GCODE file contains commands in G-Code, which is a language used to describe how a 3D printer should print a job."
Yael: Elliot is really good at picking locks. I thought they did a good job of showing how when Darlene and Elliot had some access they could use it to get more access. So, uh, smart move of Elliot to cut the power when the guard goes in to investigate but I think he should’ve shown Darlene the clock much sooner. Also, in my 20/20 hindsight backseat hacking, I think they should've disabled all the security guards’ elevator access.
Trammell: PLC hacking was a nice touch. Although as with many things in the show, Eliott's ability to break into every system without any recon is a bit unrealistic. Why doesn't Darlene just say hi to the guard? She works for the company in server maintenance. That seems like she should be the one in the cage. Eliott could hide somewhere.
The Escape
Yael: I liked how Elliot and Darlene ended up having two wildly different escape strategies. Elliot bought some time with the zip line on the one door but then had to attack and run into traffic, while Darlene just posed as a gym-goer.
Emma: Darlene hiding and then changing her coat and walking out was a good move, but she should've been stopped. Regardless of chasing Elliot out, the police should have kept the building sealed and questioned anyone coming out—or at least checked their ID. But at least she changed her coat. If Elliot had had enough sense, he would do that instead of plowing into civilians and making a scene after he was out of the cops' line of sight.
Yael: Yeah, I think Elliot should take off his hoodie when running from the cops. Not that there was time or that it would've helped.
Trammell: After he ran through the couple and tripped over the pram, did anyone else expect Eliott to run through a pane of glass that two workers are carrying across the sidewalk?
Harlo: Yes.
Emma: I noticed tipping over the carriage full of cans. Definitely a moment of panic before it became clear that it wasn't a baby in there. (Yes, I know it's not real….)
Trammell: It was full of cans!
youtube
Trammell: A question I asked last week: if this operation is going down TONIGHT, why are they being so careful to cover all their tracks? It seems like they need to be burning the bridges at both ends at this point.
Emma: Because they still need it to take some time to find them.

KIA makes great cars. They have one of the best warranties in the business – 10 year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warrant, 5 year/60,000 mile limited basic warranty and 5 year/60,000 roadside assistance. They come with almost every available option. And they aren’t very expensive, all things considered. I had the 2015 KIA Sedona minivan and absolutely loved it. I’m trying to convince my brother to buy one. I would have bought one, but I just traded my old minivan in for the Roadfly Black Bear Jeep. So when the 2017 Kia Sorento SXL AWD showed up in my driveway dressed in a stunning Platinum Graphite exterior with a coordinating Black Metallic Nappa Leather clad interior, I knew I would love it. And not just because I knew it would be great, because all KIA’s are great. And not just because my neighbor has one. But because I talked my wife into leasing a gorgeous Snow White Pearl one with an Ivory Nappa Leather clad interior about three months ago. She loves it so much that I don’t get to drive it. Which is fine; I don’t let her drive the Roadfly Black Bear Jeep either (of course she doesn’t like it and won’t ride in it let alone drive it, but anyway . . . ). So we had a black KIA Sorento SXL AWD and a white KIA Sorento SXL AWD in the driveway at the same time (I instantly thought of Spy v.s. Spy from Mad Magazine – most of you won’t get that reference). I took my Platinum Graphite Sorrento, leaving my wife’s behind, and got to know it a little better.
KIA prices its cars by trim package, so if you want every option they offer in the Sorento, you get the SXL AWD. You don’t have to choose any options, because it has all of them, and at a sticker price of $45,700, it’s a very loaded SUV. The Sorento is a mid-sized crossover SUV with a small third row that seats two children relatively comfortably (if they aren’t huge teenagers). You can squeeze an adult back there for short trips; I’ve ridden back there and its nice to be away from the kids and not to have to drive, but for long trips an adult would be pretty uncomfortable with two adults being really tight. The middle row seats three on a bench seat so total seating is seven. My wife preferred the Sorento over some of the other SUV’s we looked at because it’s a little bit smaller and feels and drives a little more like a car then a truck. Its smaller in size then the Toyota Highlander, Ford Explorer, and the Nissan Murano, but still has plenty of space inside for people and cargo (with more maximum cargo space inside then the Murano).
As I pointed out earlier, options abound in the 2017 KIA Sorento SXL. New for 2017 is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the Advanced Touring Package and the Advanced Technology Package as well as Autonomous Emergency Braking and Dynamic Bending Lights. My wife has an iPhone, an iPad, and a MacBook Air – so of course she wanted Apple CarPlay. So she waited a few extra weeks to get the 2017. The Surround View Monitor was a must for her and not available on a few other SUV’s she looked at, which immediately took those out of the running. Surround View if you haven’t used it is pretty neat. Half of the UVO 8-inch infotainment screen shows the rear of the vehicle and the other half of the screen shows what appears to be a 360 degree aerial view of the car, which is generated by four cameras, one located under each side mirror and one each on the front and rear of the vehicle. Of course the backup camera combined with the Surround View Monitor didn’t prevent my wife from almost backing into me when backing out of the garage – the horn on my Platinum Graphite KIA Sorento did. I asked her if she knew I was behind her. She said theoretically she did. I wasn’t sure what that meant so I left it at that. What I did know was that pointing out to her that no matter how awesome KIA’s Surround View Monitor is, you still have to look at it for it to work, wasn’t going to be a good idea.
The KIA Sorento comes in 5 trim packages ranging from a base price of $ 25,400 for the L to $45,7100 for the SXL AWD . The breakdown is as follows with each successor trim package building off of its predecessor:
KIA Sorento L FWD- $25,400
2.4L GDi I4 engine with 190 hp
6-speed automatic transmission
FWD only
6 speaker AM/FM/Sat radio with single cd
Cloth seats
Bluetooth
Keyless entry
KIA Sorento V6 LX – $28,990 FWD $30,790 AWD
3L Lambda V6 engine with 290 hp (or 2.4L GDi I4 engine with 190 hp)
6-speed automatic transmission
FWD or AWD
3-inch Color Touch-Screen Audio Display
Rear Camera Display
Heated front seats
Sunroof
Front fog lamps
KIA Sorento V6 EX – $33,100 FWD $34,900 AWD
3L Lambda V6 engine with 290 hp (or 2.0L turbocharged I4 with 240 hp)
Leather seats
Third –row seating available
EX Premium Package ($1,200) adds:
Infinity sound system
Nav
HD radio
Smart power liftgate
Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert
7 inch infotainment screen
110-volt power inverter
EX Advanced Touring Package ($2,500) adds:
Panoramic Sunroof w/ Power Sunshade
Autonomous Emergency Braking
Forward Collision Warning System
Lane Departure Warning System
Advanced Smart Cruise Control
Electronic Parking Brake with Auto-Hold
KIA Sorento V6 SX – $38,600 FWD $40,400 AWD
3L Lambda V6 engine with 290 hp
Navigation
UVO eServices w/8-inch Touch-Screen, SiriusXM Traffic and HD Radio
Infinity 10 Speaker audio system
KIA Sorento V6 SXL $43,900 FWD $45,700 AWD
3L Lambda V6 engine with 290 hp
Heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats
Surround View Monitor
Nappa leather
Heated Steering Wheel
14-way power adjusted driver’s seat
Safety tech for the 2017 KIA Sorento SXL AWD includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Dynamic Bending Lights.
I found the KIA Sorento to be one of, if not the best, mid-sized crossover SUV’s with an available third row seat in the market. Which of course is why a Snow White Pearl one lives in my garage. KIA really understands what a crossover SUV should be by combining the best parts of a car with the best parts of an SUV. The size is perfect. The interior layout and space is near perfect (the third row is a bit cramped for two people, but I would suggest it is impossible to size a third row correctly if you want to keep the overall size of the vehicle small). The options packages are perfect with every feature you could ever want available at the right trim level. And the exterior styling is attractive. If you are looking for the perfect mid-sized crossover SUV, take the 2017 KIA Sorento SXL AWD for a drive. Let me know if you find something better at the same price point. We couldn’t. And we spent a lot of time looking.
2017 KIA Sorento SXL AWD Review & Road Test KIA makes great cars. They have one of the best warranties in the business – 10 year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warrant, 5 year/60,000 mile limited basic warranty and 5 year/60,000 roadside assistance.
