Sebastian telling Anders-mancing Hawke that Anders is selfish and will screw them over vibes. Or people being pissy that Cairn cattily and unapologetically ended their friendship with Phos vibes.

Not that some people aren't terminally self-interested and need to pay more attention to the feelings and needs of the people around them, but the blanket idea that selfish=bad, and it's corollary that a selfish decision cannot be a good one, needs to fucking die.

Idk, Leah, was anyone else going to end your unhappy relationship and pursue your dream career for you? Was anyone else in Kirkwall going to take Anders having been tortured and gaslit by the Circle seriously, or take seriously his concerns about the impending annulment? Was Phos going to be the one to address the times they unwittingly benefited from Cairn's sense of obligation and deep unhappiness?

Frankly, sometimes you've got to be selfish, even if it makes trouble for the people around you. If you can't count on yourself to be on your own side, you definitely can't count on anyone else to be. And nobody but you is a position to rightly assert what would make you happy.

When Leah in Stardew Valley asks if she was selfish breaking up with her partner and moving to the countryside to pursue her art and she gets mad at you for saying, "Yes, but you should be selfish and put yourself first."

Like, I get that what she wants/needs emotionally at that moment is just someone to absolve her. And, yeah, this might not be the best moment to challenge that. But it is the only chance you get in the whole game and the idea that people need absolution for prioritising their own needs and wellbeing drives me insane.

I was randomly reminiscing about using Kandyse McClure as a faceclaim for a character and was like, “I wonder what she’s up to?” and I went to IMDB and ended up down a rabbit hole.

I’ve seen Katee Sackoff’s awesome role in The Mandalorian. I know Michael Trucco is manifesting sexy Ned Flanders in Midnight Mass. What I did not know is that Kandyse McClure and Aaron Douglas have recurring roles in the final season of Motherland: Fort Salem. Grace Park is in a DRAMA and she’s not carrying a gun, it’s called A Million Little Things. James Callis is in what looks to be a campy romp of a show called Blood & Treasure. Edward James Olmos is still (of course) in Mayans M.C. which I haven’t caught up with in a while. I never actually watched Lucifer with Tricia Helfer (and a bunch of other hot humans) so I need to fix that. Mary McDonnell and Michael Trucco are going to be in a show based on and titled “The Fall of the House of Usher” on Netflix next year. Jamie Bamber looks to be doing British things and I don’t have access to them (legally.) Michael Hogan and Tricia Helfer did voices in Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Tamoh Penikett is in Netflix’s Devil in Ohio (note: I originally wasn’t going to watch it because that title is a Captain Obvious one, but now.)  Alessandro Juliani is voice acting and also was in one episode of Devil in Ohio. Nicki Clyne was recently in a micro-budget sci-fi movie called Lunamancer and I just need her to be around more. Rekha Sharma is in the third season of Transplant that came out this year. Leah Cairns was in the Netflix horror series Brand New Cherry Flavor that came out last year. Donnelly Rhodes has sadly passed away but he made a couple appearances in Arrowverse in 2016. And everyone loves Hot Dog, right? Well, unfortunately, Bodie Olmos doesn’t have anything on his IMDB since BSG but there is an unreleased short from 2018 called Dead Drop.

Anyway. That’s my Battlestar Galatica rabbit hole. Would Have kept going but I made myself stop with the cast on the front page of the show’s IMDB.

(Hopefully by this point you’ve finished all three seasons of 'Travelers' , the kind of person who isn’t bothered by spoilers, or are just deciding if you still want to keep watching.)

This is probably one of the shows that has garnered a 7/10 but really blew it during the pilot. I thought it was not compelling because I was convinced that it wasn't the show for me. But then I attempted to rewatch it...

....and...looks like if it was not for me latching on to those last few minutes (I'm going to say that it probably came down to Patrick Gilmore's performance)...I would have not continued on.

Because if I walked away, I would have missed how this show is exactly what I was looking for: character driven drama mixed in with the goal of saving the world. There's a surprise too! The humour (though it's probably maybe 10% of an episode...and sometimes not even there...it just sits right in my own blueprint).

It wasn't only until I rewatched the scene between Grant and Kat that it occurred to me...that Grant's time period wasn't about choosing vegetables over meat....it was....there was no choice at all. I thought it was quite interesting that us viewers are given the impression that the time travellers only ate plant based food....which would explain Grant's fascination for fresh vegetables...but it's not towards the end (was it during the last couple of episodes of Season 3?)

PS: So...yes....if you're looking to start the series...start in Episode 2...then return to the pilot whenever you feel like it.

(I think I feel similarly to the pilot as I do with the first season of 'Homeland...but maybe it's the struggle to fit everything in that episode? But then...the show managed to dole out information in the right doses without it feeling like there's a hole there...)

INT. THE MACLAREN HOME (KITCHEN) - DAY

KAT is preparing her husband's first cup of coffee for the day. GRANT walks in from the lounge room.

KAT

Tough night?

GRANT

Uh...a long night.

KAT pours milk as the Traveller observes her closely. Time slows as she dips a spoon and gives it a stir.

KAT

There you go.

He takes the mug and gives her a small smile.

GRANT

Thanks.

After a gulp he gags.

KAT

Oh, no. Is the milk off?

She takes the mug from him.

KAT

You know, the power was out almost all night.

She studies the contents for a moment and gasps.

KAT

I am going to the fabric store later today. Do you want me to pick up that linen for your mother?

GRANT squints at her.

GRANT

My mother?

She takes a swig of the coffee and hands back the mug to him.

KAT

That milk is fine.

He considers the liquid again and the penny drops.

GRANT

(to himself)

This is cow's milk.

KAT scoffs.

KAT

What animal were you expecting?
