Grab a snack and settle down friend. We’ll be here for a while
CAUTION: incoming spoilers for ‘The Sunset and Moonlight Show’, there will be talk about some swaps and plot points
This means I thought this out a while ago. This means that it’s more recent, mostly today since I decided to think through the ScythLux thing more. This means I came up with it on the fly.
So it all started with a little joke I made to myself while I was walking outside, I dunno what I was thinking but I remembered the existence of the BloodLux fic collection and remembered my swap au and I was like ‘oh hey a rare pair replaced a rare pair, that’s neat, BloodLux Yuri for the win lol’, and then that got stuck in my head. BloodLux Yuri. BloodLux Yuri. Bouncing around in my brain for about a minute. I thought about it, about how they’d know one another, about how their relationship would develop. The first concept was ProjectBM meeting a Gemini that’s being kept in a tube and examined by Kill_Code for star related reasons. I’d imagine ProjectBM just glaring at the star being god thing cuz they are too bright and annoying, meanwhile Gemini is just sitting there unamused by everything the metallic mortals are doing. And then Gemini would get pissed at Lunar Eclipse bonding their souls together, cuz now they can’t just leave back to the other astrals cuz the little shit’s with them, so they have to stick around and deal with Lunar Eclipse possessing them once in a while and being generally a nuisance. And then LE gets the Star and all that happens, blah, blah. The treat comes at ProjectBM Scythe and Fang’s redemption arc. (Which actually happens before LE binds their soul to Gemini) They’d be struggling to reconcile what they’ve done with the way they think now that their bloodlust has been dulled, it was bad yeah but they didn’t have a choice, they were made like that, but they enjoyed it didn’t they? She taunted and tortured, she didn’t have to do that yet she did, she hadn’t even cared about being a bad person! All she wanted was fun, freedom! That’s what they had for a while and it was great! They had a father and a reluctant sibling figure who tried to understand them. But they didn’t anymore. Father was dead, LE said it never cared for them, and they refused to listen to that, but then the Morning Star went back on their word, attacked them, hurled insults at them, treated them as if they were some monster. And maybe they were. No, they were. Because only a monster would find joy amongst all the killing, would mercilessly slaughter children in a body that wasn’t their own, would be chained up and left to rot in the deepest end of someone’s mind, would be lied to just so they could do everyone else’s dirty work. They didn’t deserve what they had lost, and they didn’t deserve what they wanted. She truly was just a lost cause. She sat in a log in some forest at nighttime, curled up with Sun’s her knees up to her chest. And then there’s a sound like a wind chime, and Scythe and Fang look up and they see the star person who Father had been studying for some time. And presumably Gemini talks to her and they bond and stuff but I didn’t actually think that through, sorry. At this point I made a doodle of them both and came up with some names for the ship and decided that Scythe and Pollux would be the ones dating one another while Fang and Castor were just buddies. I also finally came up with dialogue and a way to go about Sunset’s death//sacrifice, but that’s not very relevant save for the fact that Scythe and Fang feel terribly guilty over it and have bowed to not let Sun’s death be in vain. And then I forgot about this silly ship.
As a side note, in part 2 of Lord Bloodmoon simulation I was just thinking ‘BloodLux toxic yaoi’ during that whole interaction between Castor and Lord BM. Dear Void, I spend too much time in this site. Anyways—
The next big wave of ScythLux thoughts came from the silly Hamilton crossover reference thing I made a few days ago. I was like, ‘cool! This is silly, I do not need to think about it more, sure is a shame Eclair won’t sing You’ll be back though, but I’d love to see Scythe perform First Burn! But who would it be directed to though? Oh right, Gemini. Oh shit Hamilton Gemini. Then who’s Burr, Gea? Oh shit Burr Gea. OH SHIT MARIA SAWBLADE—[insert more thinking about the thing I did not need to think about, I swear that whole scenario deserves its own post]’ and so, more ScythLux content was thought through. For this silly scenario in specific, Gemini would’ve dropped by to check on the funky metal mortals and Fang Scythe and discovered them discussing performing a so called musical, and they were curious so they asked about it and Eclair made them listen to the whole thing, and they were like looks fun! And they kept on watching everyone discuss it and come to the conclusion they had to have their own illegal performance of the show. Scythe (and Fang by extension) was casted as Eliza, though they didn’t have a Hamilton yet, and with her as Eliza the options were not many so she was given a choi— Gemini. They chose Gemini. So Gemini is Hamilton in that silly thing, which takes place in the ‘no one dies!’ Timeline. More things of note in this scenario are the fact Scythe and Fang were performing while mostly blind only ever being able to see when there wasn’t bright lights in the stage, so Satistied and Burn were mostly easier to perform. During Helpless Fang would separate from Scythe due to a really violent repulsion to romance (Fang grimaces through the whole song only participating cuz twin needs the physical support and is having fun), and Fang alongside their little Roderick plush would be near Scythe to help them move since they cannot move their legs very well. Gemini (Pollux specifically) would pick up Scythe right before the last chorus where Hamilton is giving his little speech//promise to Eliza and spin around a bit with her in their arms. And they wouldn’t kiss but they’d bonk their foreheads together.
And then we get to today. Oh boy, today. Not only did you get me to draw for about four hours but you got me investigating too! I didn’t have a design for Swap!Gemini in the morning, but now I do.
Tumblr media
Greek inspired Gemini, their hair is like the nebulas the JWST has photographed, clouds of protostars and gasses, the cloth over their body being inspired by a toga I think, long sleeves cuz they looked cool and gave them an airy feel like the sign, star like jewels around their body organized in a really smart way that I’m incredibly proud of, they oversee others traveling and often send winds and messages of good luck to them, they’re an observer by nature, rather curious and often impulsive, out of the both of them Castor is the physically weaker twin but brains of them both, Pollux is the fighter built to withstand harsher damages, being made of a stable yellow-orange star gives her more strength than the combination of blue giants and red dwarves Castor is comprised of, these aspects have also been included due to the Castor and Pollux of Greek mythology, one mortal son of a king another immortal son of Zeus. I think they appear like this cuz it’s an amalgamation of the most known aspects of them in Earth (dw, the peacocks and goat thing are also referenced but in their individual designs) and being a godly being they kinda have to assume a form a mortal could comprehend.
Tumblr media
Then we have the Bloodmoon twins whose appearances vary between the physical and mental realms. Physically stuck in Sun, the most they can change their appearance is in their clothes, with some rays sticking out more than others and a pupil change to signify who’s fronting, fangs are also common but I forgot to draw them with them. In the mental realm they look like themselves, a more demonic looking bot, with cat like legs and mostly black and red clothes. Just out of frame is their own body which I will not show yet but is actually kinda really funny and cool and stuff.
Tumblr media
As for their new dynamic, things would start off differently. Gemini is just overseeing Earth, watching the metallic mortals try to comprehend Star Power and stuff, it’s a bit annoying, they prefer to study Earthling culture more, but there’s one mortal that does tend to catch their attention, that Bloodmoon one. They’re amusing, running around, making a deal to have their family, and so. And they’re two people, just like them! How cool is that? Anyways they watch the idiots a bit more and decide that maybe they should investigate more closely, so they start talking to ProjectBM, and freak them out, of course. But they interact more and more, and Pollux gets attached to them! And ProjectBM also starts liking them! And then the Lunar stuff and blah blah. But after that stuff is over with and the BM twins have had their redemption arc, Gemini still hangs out around them, they watch as she goes around doing odd jobs, trying to make up for what she’s done or something, she tries to get them to fight her since she’s good at that and Castor made a comment about Pollux liking it too, so Pollux and the twins start having friendly boxing matches once in a while. And it’s all fun. And at some point Scythe realizes that she kinda probably accidentally fell in love with Pollux, and once the feelings of crushes and love are explained to her Pollux might realize that she too might’ve fallen in love. And so they start dating. And it’s cute, and Pollux often turns into her animal form, a yellow and orange peacock, and stands in BM’s shoulder as they go about their day (Castor being there too, as a kinda blue kinda cream goat), and they’re cute together, and they hug, and they cuddle, and it’s very fluffy.
Tumblr media
And that’s it, I think.
Oh, right, should probably clarify who’s who. The ScythLux ship would be the swap version of the FlareCode ship. Bloodmoon and KillCode have swapped places, Gemini and SolarFlare have swapped places too.
Thoughts are welcome :3
Tumblr media
Is that confusion over the ship’s existence or confusion over my statement about my au?
Oh no, no no no, I’m just actually interested in the swap au even more (I actually think the ship is cute)

"If artists' works keep alive and feed our brains, why would not they keep our bodies alive and nourish our bodies? A work today must be accessible to everyone, not just a few. It must be repeated indefinitely so that it only represents the price of what it carries in its universal message. "
