Aside from the obvious answer to this one *eyebrow wiggle*; Ashley reads, often aloud to Vance as he lies next to her. On particularly restless nights, Vance makes them both tea. It’s always loose-leaf green tea, Vance has a vendetta against tea bags.

14. Who’s prone to road rage?

VANCE. It’s not like Ashley has never road-raged herself, but on top of being an angry driver, Vance is also a ridiculously bad one. To the point that he’s banned from driving the mako. If you’re wondering who does drive it, it’s his brother Damien, who banned Vance in the first place after they flew over one-too-many cliff sides.

Both Vance and Ash like to carry their own weight, so it’s usually 50/50. Unless it’s shared document of some kind, then Ashley handles that honor, as Vance is prone to stuffing up the little details on forms.

Definitely Ashley, especially in the mornings when Vance is half-awake. She likes to lure him in under the guise of kissing him then sticks her freezing hands up his shirt. Vance falls for it every time.

Kaidan. Miranda’s a busy woman, her priorities always have to be in order, so she usually gets out of bed first. Or tries to. Miranda. She thinks it’s foolish to let her emotions to get the better of her like that, but she allows herself the indulgence. After all, the first time she met Kaidan he was tightly wound, very upset and angry, so she enjoys seeing him at peace

They’re both fairly diligent with this, though sometimes one of them will conveniently “forget” to put it on, leaving the other to apply it for them.

Initially, there’s a fair amount of tension between them about Miranda’s previous affiliation with Cerberus, but that’s all pre-relationship and it disappears pretty quickly after they start getting to know one another. Post getting together, it’s omnitool preferences. Miranda’s all about expensive, experimental models that won’t be on the market for years, whereas Kaidan’s decided the Logic Arrest is the hill he’s going to die on and refuses to upgrade. Most of the time it’s just light-hearted teasing on Miranda’s part, they don’t out-and-out argue very often.

Like every part of her is engineered to be perfect, and so she should be good at everything, but none of those skills ever really feel like *hers*

So when she tries like....oil painting and its just terrible. Never how she wants it to turn out just cant get the hang out it, and she just adores every single terrible painting that she makes because this is 100% hers. Nobody programmed her to be good at oil painting, and she isnt. It doesnt come naturally to her, like most things do.

Eventually her entire apartment is filled with just garbage paintings, but shes still so proud of them because it's something that she truly knows belongs to her.

Caraga transport sector pleads for gov't assistance

BUTUAN CITY, April 23 (PIA) -- After a month of being under the imposed enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the threat posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the transport sector who were greatly affected by the suspension of operations has asked the help and assistance from the government.  

They said that no matter how hard they try to survive daily, they still feel how difficult it is without having any livelihood to sustain their needs.

Jose Evagelous Lawenko, chairperson of Diamond Transport Service Cooperative (DATSCO) in Butuan City was one of those being affected in the transport sector. He called on the concerned government agencies to help address the issues and concerns, as well as financial assistance to support the needs of their respective family.

“I am really saddened on the current crisis that we all experience this time especially that our drivers no longer have job due to the ECQ, that’s why I am appealing to all the government agencies concerned to help the transport sector cope with life by provision of any available assistance,” said Lawenko.

He added that with the meager savings they have in their cooperative, they have decided to utilize it to buy the basic commodities and distributed to their driver-workers. However, they stressed it would not be enough to sustain each of their family’s needs.

The DATSCO and the rest of the transport sector also hope that they could also receive aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Meanwhile, Dir. Maria Kristina Cassion of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Caraga, revealed that they are constantly coordinating with their head office, along with the DSWD and other concerned government agencies for any available assistance they could give for the transport sector.

In the conduct of “Libreng Sakay” or free ride for the health workers and other frontliners, Dir. Cassion also appealed to the stakeholders for help through gasoline support for the said operation and food for the drivers who operate the shuttle services.

“We are calling on all our partner stakeholders in the region to help us, as we try our best to reach out to the transport sector that is also greatly affected by this COVID-19 pandemic. We also recognized those who have already extended their support not only for the sector but also for the frontliners,” Cassion underscored.

Okay, ngl it took a few shuffles for my brain to start warming up the hamster wheel. 

But when it fell on Winds of Change by Vance Joy it reminded me of Axel in my current (M!Shenko pairing) one shot-fic that I started writing. He’s one of my few  Shepards who actually retire post-war (John’s aiming his M-98 Widow at me right now lol, he has not retired *snorts*) and he’s alone at home while Kaidan is off on duty. Axel, feeling a bit lonely, is waiting for him to come home, and it just reminded me of that.

I have several in mind. 

1. Modern Police AU for Shepley most likely (mentioned in the BBB server with Chimerarts actually, will eventually be doing this - I just need to experience the cadet training first hand… relatively soon...I believe?) 

In my head John would already be a police officer, providing for his wife and two kids. Becoming a police officer is also Ashley’s dream but she put that dream on hold to raise their two children up until they start school. When the children are both in school, that’s when she goes for training and starts her career. (Ashley in his case would be me (minus the children because I don’t have any- but I did put my dream on hold of an ex who could have been considered a child because it sure felt I was raising him at times). 

It would be a spin on the post-war family I’ve made for them. 

So they still would have Alexandra as their daughter and Kaidan as their son (Kaidan would be named after John’s work partner that died in the line of fire… maybe protecting a family?) 

Well this got developed further in the last 2 mins than it did last week or the week before when I talked to Chimerarts about this lol.

2. Maybe a Van Helsing AU (Like the show on Netflix - have you seen it? It’s amazing!) 

And seriously, being back on the Fallout 4 binge again, that could be really cool as well.

BUTUAN CITY, April 12 (PIA) -- Due to tight implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the entire Caraga region, operation of the public utility vehicles was temporarily suspended.

Kristina Cassion, OIC reguonal director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Caraga, bared that effective April 8, the agency implemented the suspension of operation of the public transportation in the region.

However, several private establishments including government agencies in the region are still operating in order to cater and accommodate the locals on their basic necessities and services, and other essentials. Hence, their workers are also affected particularly those who are far from their workplaces.

She then asked other government agencies and private establishments still operating to also provide assistance to their personnel, which include shuttle services for them as they continue to do their functions or may also provide a temporary shelter so it would not be hard enough for them to travel to and from their houses to their respective workplaces.

The LTFRB also provides free shuttle services intended for the frontliners and health workers. “Prior to the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, we have prepared a contingency plan to ensure that the health workers in Butuan City and parts of Agusan del Norte would be able to work in the health facilities, hence, we provided shuttle buses with corresponding routes in a day,” she cited.

She expressed hope that the “Libreng Sakay” Program to support the transportation of the health personnel will be operational by next week because it entails big resources like the need of fuel, meals and personal protective equipment (PPEs) of the drivers and conductors. She said they are planning to field 17 routes with 40 total number of units.

She also asked the management of the health facilities as partner to help and provide meals to the conductors and drivers, as well as the provision of a personal protective gears for them.

Cassion also ensured the transport sector that they will be given assistance amid this crisis situation on coronavirus disease (COVID-19). "We are hoping that by next week, they will start receiving the cash assistance for them once needed requirements and documents will be completed. We are also closely coordinating with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and cooperatives for any possible help that they could provide," she said.

On this crisis situation on COVID-19, Dir. Cassion further emphasized the need to unite with all the stakeholders in addressing the needs of the vulnerable sectors in the region. She further asked the government officials to allocate a portion of their salary to help others.

Meanwhile, Jose Evalegous Lawenko, chairperson of Diamond Transport Service Cooperative (DATSCO) also expressed his concern with the affected drivers and conductors who are currently jobless due to the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the region.

“We are calling on the concerned government agencies and private stakeholders to include the transport sector in the assistance that they provide, which could be in kind or in cash to help them cope with this crisis,” underscored Lawenko. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)

BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 11 (PIA) - The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) are stepping up its preparation for the implementation of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) in Caraga region.

Several units of the electronic and solar modernized PUVs have been delivered recently in Butuan City and will start operating at the designated routes including in other provinces of Caraga this month of October.

During the PUV Caravan held in Butuan, which was participated by the transport cooperatives in the region, the operators and drivers interacted with the manufacturers from various companies and have clarified their concerns on how to operate the modernized PUVs.

The representatives from LandBank and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) were also present to discuss further with the transport sector the mechanism on the availment of the financial assistance.

Jose Evagelous Lawenko, chairperson of Diamond Transport Service Cooperative (DATSCO) stressed that thru the help of the LTFRB, their loan application in the bank was fast-tracked. He also explained the advantages they could get from PUVMP.

“The modernization would really give convenience to the commuters. These PUVs are equipped with CCTV and could also enjoy the free wi-fi and charging station for their cellphones,” said Lawenko.

Drivers in Butuan have also expressed their take on the PUVMP. “This should not be implemented too soon as drivers like us would no longer have a job. If this would really push through, we also asked the government to provide alternative jobs for the affected drivers to support their respective family,” said Nicasio Sabellano, pedicab driver.

“Modernization is good. However, what I do not like is that all are required to be a member of a cooperative to be qualified to avail the program. It gives us agony,” said Celedonio Goyocan, a driver.

According to OIC-regional director Maria Kristina Cassion of LTFRB-Caraga, the PUVMP is the largest non-infrastructure flagship program of the Duterte administration. She said, it is high time that commuters could experience a comfortable, convenient and safer travel. And transport cooperatives have been very supportive of this effort.

The official assured that by year 2020, no old PUVs will be allowed to operate.

“Starting July 1, 2020, no old public utility vehicles will be allowed to operate. We all know how serious we are in the implementation of the program. Even before, we already have apprehended several violators,” Cassion underscored. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)

LUNGSOD NG BUTUAN, Oktubre 9 (PIA) - Puspusan na ang paghahanda ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa implementasyon ng Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) sa rehiyon ng Caraga.

Sa katunayan, may ilang units ng electronic at solar modernized PUVs ang dumating sa Butuan City at magsisimula nang bumiyahe sa mga nakatalagang rota sa lungsod, maging sa ibang probinsya ngayong buwan ng Oktubre.

Sa isinagawang PUV Caravan sa lungsod ng Butuan na dinaluhan ng transport cooperatives sa Caraga, nakasama ng operators at drivers ang manufacturers mula sa ibat-ibang kompanya kung saan mas nabigyang-linaw ang concerns sa pag-operate sa modernized PUVs.

Dumalo rin ang mga kinatawan ng LandBank at Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) upang mas maintindihan ng transport sector kung papaano makakuha ng financial assistance.

Ibinahagi ni Jose Evagelous Lawenko, chairperson ng Diamond Transport Service Cooperative (DATSCO) na sa tulong ng LTFRB, naging mabilis din ang kanilang pagproseso ng loan sa bangko. pinaliwanag din niya ang magandang benepisyo sa PUVMP.

“Sa ibang hindi kasali sa coop, ang iniisip nila na mahal nga ang unit. Paano ba daw ang pagbayad o downpayment. Wala namang down yan, hindi naman sila magbibigay ng down payment. Tapos hindi naman sila magbabayad kahit piso, dahil base na rin sa automatic per collection system, automatic din yung amortization doon sa bank kaya wala silang babayaran. So ganyan kaganda ang modernization, kasi hindi sila magbabayad pero kasama sila sa sharing ng kita,” paliwanag ni Lawenko.

Nagpahayag din ng reaksyon ang ilang mga drivers. “Dapat sana hindi ito madaliin dahil mawawalan ng trabaho ang mga drivers. Kung matuloy na ito, kailangang mabigyan din ng trabaho ang mga drivers para may pangsuporta rin sila sa kani-kanilang pamilya,” pahayag ni Nicasio Sabellano.

“Okay lang naman ang modernization, wala namang problema doon kasi tama din naman 'yun. Ang hindi ko lang nagustuhan yung kailangang maging miyembro ng kooperatiba ang lahat. Dagdag perwesyo na aksi yun,” sabi ni Celedonio Goyocan, isa ring driver.

Ayon naman kay OIC-regional director Maria Kristina Cassion ng LTFRB-Caraga, ang PUVMP ang pinakamalaking non-infrastructure flagship program ng administrasyong Duterte. Napapanahon na rin na maranasan ng publiko ang mas komportable at ligtas na biyahe. Suportado naman ito ng mga transport cooperatives sa rehiyon.

Pagtitiyak naman ng opisyal na sa taong 2020, wala nang matitirang lumang pampublikong sasakyan.

“Matapos ang taong 2020, wala na talaga sila. Kasi sa July 1, 2020, wala nang lumang na mga public utility vehicles ang papayagan. Alam naman nila kung gaano tayo kahigpit.
