Besides Volo, I think it was Laventon who figured out what Akari had become before everyone else. As soon as Kamado had let him go into the field to do survey work with Rei again he went, actually venturing into the Fieldlands besides his aid to look for her. They used a couple pokemon to try and locate Akari but they only found a couple of her items and her satchel, scattered amongst pokemon and across the territory. It wasn't hard to determine she was dead from that.
But Akari, and a couple other survey members (i... may be making OCs for other survey members), had run into Zorua and Zoroarks before. Rei, with his limited team, kept clear of the ice caverns in the Alabaster Icelands but those who were confident enough (or overconfident) would explore cautiously and had run into the fox pokemon a handful of times. Akari had even caught a Zorua, though it had appeared so miserable that she set it free after a couple days. Laventon, therefore, had documentation that Zorua and Zoroarks were less 'mindlessly aggressive' and more 'highly territorial' and incredibly familial. They were staunch protectors of their companions and family. Their markings would differ amongst the eyes, there were slight differences in the shade of red and the size of their mane (believed to be a signifying factor of leadership in some way), and their gems were not a universal development except in that they were always in the same general area- which were arms and legs.
And he knew, having been in Hisui for a few years at this point, that infrequently there would appear a Zoroark that was... different from the rest. Their color scheme would be a far cry from the usual red (or even from the infrequent purple of the shiny coat pattern), they were almost never found in the Alabaster Icelands, they seemed to have a higher hunting instinct, and they had gems in the oddest places. One Zoroark had them on it's ears, another had dozens of tiny ones scattered across its face like freckles. Frequently they would have an odd marking somewhere on their body. The most odd, and concerning, aspect of these Zoroark was that they couldn't be caught. Pokéballs would bounce right off of them, no matter the type, and set their hunting instinct on the person who had tried to catch them. These Zoroark had to be knocked out to get away safely, and frequently needed to be put down for the safety of travelers.
So Laventon had this knowledge. He knows what normal Zoroarks are like, and he's seen the odd ones as well. So when Volo starts talking about a Zoroark frequently found in the Fieldlands that seems to be hunting him... Laventon makes note of it. There hasn't been a sighting of a wandering Zoroark since before Akari's descent from the sky, and he wishes she were around to examine it for him. She took detailed notes that were helpful, even providing little sketches, and he missed her additions to his research. He takes Rei out to the Fieldlands instead and they look for the Zoroark because Laventon still wants to see it, to document it. They don't find it on the first trip, or the second, and Kamado - returned from his attempt to fight the frenzied Sinnoh, injured and unable to walk - orders Laventon to stop using Rei for "walk in the park" survey missions, they need to figure out how to fight what's in the rift and quickly! Laventon reluctantly, having no choice, dismisses Rei from his immediate duties as Laventon's direct assistant. He continues going out into the Fieldlands, examining and exploring with one or two other people around. New survey members, young adults who immigrated recently.
It's while they're descending the mountain towards the spot where they can find Magikarp - someone had just reported a new Magikarp pattern besides the shiny variant that Laventon wanted to see - that Laventon finally spots the new Zoroark anomaly. He stops at first because he's excited- it's been a long time since an anomaly appeared, and even longer since he saw one in person! Oh, the notes he can take as long as they keep quiet! He's got his notebook pulled out, already jotting things down, when he takes a look at what he has written and takes another look at the Zoroark.
Even from where they're standing he can tell it appears young- perhaps freshly evolved? It's a little awkward on it's feet, having stumbled a couple times. He notices it seems to favor one leg, that it's fur color is a dark steel color instead of the usual red, and instead of a ruff of fur around its neck appears to be-
A scarf.
He stops writing and takes a closer look at it. It's walking away from them, at an angle since it's across the shore, and he doesn't like what he sees. The hair is not as voluminous as a standard Zoroark's, and he can see what appears to be singular strands hanging down before it's ears. It walks favoring it's right leg, much like Akari did when she exerted herself too much- the alpha Octillery attack had taken its toll on her. The gems did not sit in an uncommon position, but it was the scarf that made it all click. The red scarf that matched the color of the one Akari had been given as part of her survey corps outfit, that she had taken with her into her exile. He couldn't see it's eyes from where they were, especially when it turned and all they could see was its back, but he now has the sinking suspicion that those anomaly Zoroarks were not simply different types. He had heard the stories of the Pearl and Diamond clans, about how those who died full of malice returned as a Zorua or Zoroark, but it had never clicked before that they might not return as a normal Zoroark. Of course there were those anomalies- now that he thought about it, they matched up with exiled members of Jubilife or people who had gone missing.
And most of them had been ordered to be put down, due to their dangerous habit of hunting humans out of their territory, by Kamado. Kamado who had already ordered Akari's exile once, when she had done nothing but what he asked, ordered, required to stay in Jubilife.
One of the newbies asked if they should try to catch the Zoroark, as they'd never seen one before, but Laventon quickly put a mic on it. He guided them around the Geodude, had them clear away the Buizel, and then set them to work on fishing in the Magikarp so they could check them. And if his notebook fell into the water while he wrestled one to show them how it was done? If a page that he'd started writing went missing inside a Magikarp's mouth? Well, no one else would know.
And the knowledge haunted him. Knowing the truth of the new Zoroark, the one that hunted Volo. That was /hunting Volo./ If he had more proof he would have brought it up, but at the same time- she had been exiled. He would have to prove Volo had killed Akari, and then try to encourage people about why they should care when she had been a sky-falling stranger who destroyed the sky later and was exiled. Instead, he did his best to dismiss Volo's claims. Quietly, saying that Zoroark didn't hunt humans, only protected their territory. Reminding the village of Kamado's injuries and what was more important, a single stray pokemon or their commander? He kept the truth hidden, uncertain of who to tell, because who would believe him? Cyllene was busy, so busy, as she was now essentially in charge with Kamado incapacitated. Zisu had her hands full with the guards. Marie was defiantly holding onto the pokemon that Akari had brought them, insisting that they weren't on orders to attack. Rei was struggling and suffering with the weight of his new duties falling solely onto his shoulders without a little sister figure to share them, to lighten the load.
It wasn't until Volo's death that Laventon figured out who he could tell. When the merchant's body was brought back for the Ginkgo Guild to claim, with Warden Ingo following in not long after for supplies, Laventon knew. Akari had spoken fondly of the amnesiac, had found a kinship with him, and he knew that Ingo had kept an eye out for her since the news of her banishment. Laventon didn't have much time- outsiders were hardly let in now, everyone in high alert between the sky and the attack. He approached Ingo with a random object he'd grabbed.
"Warden Ingo! So glad to see you again! Here, I have a gift for you since it's been so long." Laventon quickly put the item into Ingo's hands, taking advantage of the proximity to lean in just a bit further and lower his voice. "You need to find the Zoroark, Warden, before anyone from Jubilife does. It's not a normal one, it's-"
He couldn't say anything else as an uproar came from Volo's body. People yelling about dangerous pokemon, about the sky causing them to go mad, about Volo warning them, they needed to track this thing and put it out down before it killed someone else! Laventon swallowed in dread. Would the Warden believe him if he said it was Akari?
"Please, capture it if you can. It is not a normal Zoroark." He implored. Ingo nodded, cautious and confused but nodded all the same. Laventon knew that he was an honorable man, that he would catch the pokemon if he could. He worried, though, about what it might mean if she was caught. They hadn't been able to catch what must have been human-souled Zoroarks in the past. Because they were human, still, somehow? Or something else? If Akari could be caught, was it truly going to be Akari, or had Laventon ignored Volo's warnings because he thought he saw a familiar face where there truly wasn't one?

Can you do romantic yandere!Professor Laventon headcanons please?
Ironically I see him more as platonic, while Turo I got as platonic despite me leaning more towards romantic with him. I just thought that was really funny, lol. Sure! I'll see what I got :)
Yandere! Professor Laventon Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Guilt tripping, Manipulation, Paranoia, Clingy behavior, Isolation mention, Oh wow the relationship is mutual.
Laventon has a very welcoming personality, coming off as friendly and hardworking.
Perhaps your fate is similar to the main characters of Legends: Arceus?
Except this time you're an adut given the task of seeing every Pokemon or something.
You go through the typical Legends: Arceus story, Laventon taking you in to the village and being nothing but kind to you.
He's such a caring man to you, along with the two young teens Akari and Rei.
Ever since he took you into the village he's spent time with you.
You help him piece together the Pokedex with him using info you obtained along with info from Akari and Rei.
Laventon slowly starts to see you as something more than a friend he introduced to the village.
You only solidify such feelings when you made a comment one time.
You watched as Laventon tended to Akari/Rei after being hurt in the field.
He's taking care of them and reassuring them it's okay.
He only stops when you speak to him.
"You'd be such a great father with how you take care of those two."
You laugh at the end of the affectionate comment, not catching how much his face heated up at that.
Oh the poor man is ruined after that.
That one comment only encouraged his obsession.
Mostly because he feels you both take care of the two young teens well...
The mannerisims between the four of you scream family.
He secretly adores the idea of you two being parental figures to Akari and Rei.
When you're away, Laventon is busy in his lab.
He knows he should be putting together the newest research... but he's so invested in updating this journal he has of you instead.
He uses the excuse that he's so scatterbrained he has trouble putting the research together.
When in reality he's writing down your favorite flowers, favorite Pokemon, and everything you like.
He loves to see the smile on your face when he gives you something you like.
Sometimes you stick around the lab to help him actually work on the Pokedex.
You have no idea why he's having so mucn trouble working alone lately?
Or why he can't keep his eyes off you while you help him.
Laventon seems to be the type who's hesitant to start a relationship at first.
If you really were from a diiferent dimension, it'll only make things harder.
However... when he feels brave enough to ask you to be his, he'll make it perfect.
He's doing research into what will really make your heart flutter.
He even asks Akari/Rei about what you like.
Based on how he acts when questioning them, it's clear he has strong feelings for you.
It's up to you if him giving you your favorite Pokemon, flowers, and food on the day he asks you to be his is endearing or creepy.
How'd he know all this so fast?
Laventon is not a yandere to be jealous to the point of harm.
In fact, he's rather calm.
The more toxic traits of his are his clingy/needy behavior and him being protective.
For example, he doesn't like you on expeditions due to how dangerous Pokemon are.
He's scared he'll lose you in a world as wild as Hisui-
Other than him trying to keep you in the village... he's really sweet.
He does his best to be the best boyfriend for you.
He loves to hold you... to kiss you...
He also encourages you to help him take care of the two young teens.
Laventon probably has fantasies of starting a family with you.
Even if you can't have kids, Akari and Rei are enough aren't they?
There's not a hint of possession in this man, making him rather tame.
The biggest issue is just his paranoia over your safety.
Even with Pokemon partners, the world is still dangerous.
He'd rather you stay in the lab with him...
That way you both can work on the Pokedex without the danger!
He seems too gentle and friendly to be a very intense yandere-
He wants the best for you and to keep you safe.
It may cause fights if you refuse to stay with him and run into danger, maybe?
If you got hurt... then he locks things down.
He tries to guilt/force you into staying in the village with him.
You got hurt out there.
What if he never found you!?
Overall, Laventon is a yandere who cares for your safety and happiness above all else.
He'd defend and protect you no matter what...
Even if it includes stalking and isolation.

Kelp kelp kelp, you can not post 5+1 father adopted daughter prompts bc I see those and then I start thinking about all of your wonderful aus and how they need them! Just! They are all so good! For god fragment akarei! Little rituals are so important! They choose their dad, having to explain that! Is! Just! Angst! Fluff! Perfection! Photos! Ingo already likes physical memories! Akarei deserves so many, and ingo deserves to have a stuffed wallet! And so much of that is also true for jtr, ao, and fatw!
AND! You have so many good aus that these are perfect for because now I am also imagining phm!akari building little rituals with her train dads! And plac! Ingo and akari with their little hard won family, it also needs so many photos, rituals and good good family feels!
Also the Wild West au! That found family post! Code names! I bet akari comes up with some wild ones! (I’m also sure ingo will be disappointed and will break out the soap at some point) Hovering when akari gets injured by dawns people! Just! Found family in the Wild West tonight!!!
I just I love all of your aus and I love found families and I am having so many emotions 💜
YES YES YES YES YES RIGHT!!!!
I am honestly in the same boat every time I go looking up adoption prompts or parent prompts. My grubby little hands rub all over my aus!!!
God fragment Akarei likes physical things- before their face-off against Arceus it is because they came to with nothing but the clothes on their back. They attach memories to objects- their partner's first pokéball breaks but instead of throwing it out, they keep it because it is their first pokéball, their first partner, the first thing that was Theirs. They ask Laventon for a camera so they can take pictures as well if the things they see that are all so new for them! After they confront Arceus their items are a reminder that Akarei is their own person! They exist! They are not simply a piece of something else waiting to return to their 'rightful place'!! Akarei keeps photos on them, Just In Case, and gives plenty to Ingo as well. Ingo gets a stuffed wallet both because Akarei demands it (because what happens if he returns to his time without warning??? What if he forgets them???) and because he likes the reminder of the memories. There's one of Cyllene standing over Laventon, who fell asleep on his desk. There are several pictures of Akarei and Akari and Rei, doing silly childish things. Akarei gathers up their family and gets a whole picture, humans and pokemon both. They touch each item before going to sleep, no matter how tired they are. Physical gifts are important to them not because of their price but because of their meaning and who gave them the gift.
PHM!Akari's first ritual was the one that got her train dads, after all! Waving to them whenever they passed by! It remains a ritual even after they move to town, so they know she's still awake and alive. Friday nights become nights that they scoop her away from the farm, grab Elesa, and go out to eat. They all eat too much, the adults get a little drunk, and after Akari repairs her home she herds them back and they all crash in varying places in the living room. The boys take time off during harvest time so they can help Akari, and at the end of each day of harvest they take a food item and use it for dinner. Akari asks Elesa for a new outfit for each town festival, even once Anthe joins the town and works with Elesa; the outfit is always something verging on uncomfortably flashy (the girl's out of her overalls, anything is too flashy) and that puts her in small heels.
PLAC Ingo and Akari figuring out how to live together. Ingo now has a child to look after that is also an incredibly powerful piece of technology but is also a child, first and foremost. He had to get her to brush her teeth by brushing his with her. It becomes habit. He checks under her bed for templars each night, even and especially after her recapture (Emmet helps). He takes her to work after his return and he and Emmet get her a little coat to match theirs, so people know who to return her to if she wanders off in a piece of Eden daze. Some nights she wakes up from nightmares that leave her shaking, leave her with memories of Before she was Akari, and she always needs outside time. Emmet or Ingo typically wake up because something in the house Isn't Right (keen assassin senses, despite their living in a home filled with their literal family and friends- no nuclear family here, there's like ten people in their home) and they'll see her outside, make her either hot chocolate or coffee (whatever's on hand), and give her space to come to terms with what happened. Sometimes she drinks what she's given, sometimes she doesn't, but it's a reminder of where she is and who she's with and that's what's important. The scars will fade, the memories will stay, but she won't be alone. She won't be a tool, she will be a girl.
THE WILD WEST AU!!! Rituals, Akari dropping a curse word to see how quickly Ingo notices and loses his temper. She always asks Cam for help with her outfit on dance nights. No matter how old she gets she holds onto someone's hand for comfort as they approach the stage. Jackie brought up code names, after she was recovered from Dawn, to cheer her up. It is very much like Parks & Rec codenames, but Ingo is much more irritated than relieved at being "Eagle Two". He's got the soap on hand whenever he sees Jackie & Akari giggling, just in case. Everyone makes it a game to see how close they can badger Ingo's sensibilities around Akari, as the baby, before he uses it.
And when she gets back from being taken by Dawn, when she's still weak and fighting off starvation and being shot, when she's barely conscious for minutes at a time, they all take turns reading to her or talking to her. Telling her about the ranch, and about her pony, and what's happened in town. They don't stop working, but someone is always with her. Holding her hand. Brushing her hair back. Ensuring she's not alone, that when she wakes up there will be some part of her family with her. When she gets sick, after, years later, they do the same thing.
Cam and Akari developing a secret handshake, always done behind the backs of the others and ending in giggles. Jackie and Akari being playfully antagonistic but incredibly defensive of each other. Cloud teaching Akari about books and boys, and the best ways to break both, a mother and aunt and grandmother all in one. Ramses taking Akari out, showing her how to track, how to get by on wild plants, ensuring her survival and always being the first to ask her to dance once music starts up. Isadore and Akari sitting in silence together, doing their own things in the comfortable company of someone who doesn't need to speak. Ingo and Akari being dramatic together, teaching tricks to the horses and doing some dangerous stunts while riding, playfully acting out book scenes and plays. Emmet and Akari going out to shoot, to race the horses even while they work, checking to make sure none of the animals need doctoring before going absolutely fucking ham on messing around. Elesa teaching Akari how to run a business and let people make assumptions before rending them asunder, throwing fashion shows between the two of them.
Akari in every universe finding a family that will cherish her and love her as she is, not for who she could be or what they think she should be 💚
#Kelp tracks#Asked and answered#Plac#Pokemon harvest moon#GOD don't get me started on FaW rituals#The ones Akari and Ingo get into after AO finishes#The ones that change over JtR....#SO MANY.#Arceus fragment au
