Luna Headcanons below!

-she’s actually still religious and does worship arceus, just in a different way than her father

-she secretly watched over taka even after leaving the sanctum and denouncing team meteor

-she plays piano and sings (very well, i might add)

-she was trained to shoot a gun and wield a knife by solaris himself. he thought she’d need it to protect taka

-as such, she’s an amazing marksman. when her and bennett reconcile, she takes him to a gun range, and he’s surprised by how good she is

-her and bennett actually become friends after the story ends. she was a bridesmaid at his and laura’s wedding! (because i think they should get married)

-she acts as a big sister to anna and noel. her and anna got along instantly, it took noel a while but he eventually warmed up to her too

-her and serra go to get their nails done together often

-she gets really into video games in the post-game. her favourites are call of duty and stardew valley (kind of matches the contrast i imagine in her personality haha)

-she’s bisexual! (mostly put that in there for our trans girlfriend who adores luna and is bi herself)

-she purposefully lets people forget that she’s essentially a trained bodyguard.

-that’s actually how she got her gym leader position, she was put through a strict training regimen by team meteor ever since she was a child

thanks for the ask! luna’s such an interesting character to think about, and i really enjoyed putting the stimboard and headcanons together. hope you liked it as much as i did!

One of the more interesting minor notes in the more recent Pokémon games is that different characters, such as the Team Star bosses, use different types of Pokéballs. It’s a neat characterization detail. So I thought I would apply to Reborn’s characters.

Also here’s some visual references:

Gym Leaders

Julia-Fast. Only her Voltorb and Electrode actually get the bonus from it. She uses it because it fits best with her pom-poms.

Florinia-Timer. Statistically the most effective ball.

Shelly-Friend. It’s cute and fits with her forest field.

Shade-Cherish. Mysterious and red.

Aya-Poke. It’s the cheapest.

Serra-Premier. A show of aesthetic and (somewhat former) status.

Noel-Poké. He’s basic.

Radomus-Master. Spent half the coffers on it. Also, because grand”master”.

Luna-Moon. Fits her vibes immaculately.

Samson-Heavy. The circus strongman should lift heavy things. That’s like, his job.

Charlotte-Premier. Both cool and easily available.

Terra-GS balls (or at least, standard pokéballs painted to look like GS balls). The ultimate troll.

Ciel-Wing. White and blue, and associated with flying types. Maybe she learned to make them back out in the country.

Adrienn-Luxury. Only the best for xyr Pokémon!

Titania-Net. Completely symbolic, with no practical use. She’s extra like that.

Amaria-Dive. One can surmise that she spends a lot of time underwater. She likely catches her mons there as well.

Hardy-Repeat. Just thinks it looks cool.

Saphira-Dusk. Very effective and also kinda edgy. Her gym emulates a cave.

Sandy-Luxury. Stolen from Craudberry’s collection.

Elite 4

Heather-Jet. A soaring pokéball for a fast-flyer.

Benett-Nest. He definitely raises his bug Pokémon from the first stage.

Laura-Heal. No explanation needed.

El-Legends Arceus normal Pokéballs. Took up crafting sometime after his sight was restored.

Anna-Dream. Due to the dreamsickness and such.

Ame-Safari. Fits symbolically.

Rivals

Victoria-Heal. Imitating Kiki.

Cain-Love. Flirt.

Fern-Great. Once superior, now outclassed.

Cal-Great. Wanted to show up Blake by using a less effective ball.

Meteors

Aster-Quick. The somewhat hasty one.

Eclipse-Timer. The level-headed one.

Ace-Glimmer. Uses a lot of seals.

Sirius-Ultra. No-nonsense kinda fellow.

Solaris-Gigaton. RVTERN to tradition man himself.

Taka-PLA regular pokéballs. Similar to Solaris but extremely half-assing it.

Lin-Cherish. Mysterious ass.

Zero-Ultra. Looks like Umbreon.

Eve-Quick. Statistically the most efficient ball. 

Lumi-Level. Had a very high level Glaceon and little other Pokémon, so she figured that level balls were best for their price. 

Sigmund-Ultra. For the intimidation factor.

Blake-Ultra. Try-hard.

Making a "Best of..." list for once!

Here's my 2024 in new discoveries:

VIDEO GAME: with all due respect to everyone else, I played Outer Wilds in spring so the others can pack it up and go home. I also started Riven but still haven't finished it on behalf of being busy making my own games so it doesn't really count and I don't have to choose

FILM: Gomes's stunning Grand Tour came close, but that'll be Laura Citarella's Trenque Lauquen, all two parts and 4 hours of it (double screening. We brought quiche for the interlude). Cahiers du Cinema's best of 2023, my best of 2024.

BOOK: All due respect to Solaris and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and The Master and Margarita and Hopscotch and even Capitalist Realism, but 50 Years of Text Games is an inspiration to anyone with even a passing interest in IF. I feel like I owe it a lot so it takes the crown

THEATRE: Bildung by Compagnia Malmadur, hands down. I have no words to describe how deeply moving it was to listen to a guy recite by heart 12 minutes of dictionary.

I ran into it as a Venice Biennale-adjacent pavillion and it turned up two days later on Mubi, v convenient (although I WAS willing and ready to haul my butt all the way back to Castello and sit there for a full screening, all 4.5h of it in a row, should it have come to that. Would've been worth it)

At long last, everyone in-universe is getting on the same page! We've known about the keys since…like, over twenty chapters ago? Solaris’ speech in the Grand Stairway wasn't exactly subtle, not that Xera was legally allowed to tell anyone about it still, but- better late than never.

Simon and Tara also weren't exactly subtle about what Team Meteor wanted with those ruins, but- eh, still, we're making progress, baby steps.

Honestly? I don't have really have any?

When it comes to heights I just have a general idea of "Okay so these characters are the tallest, this character is the shortest of this group, ect ect"

Examples:

I imagine out of the rivals that Fern is the shortest. (Although when Cain takes of his platforms he's almost the same height, still taller though)

I headcanon that the Alcantara's are just naturally very tall, towering over most of the rest of the cast. (Tauben being the tallest, Solaris and Taka being around the same height)

Samson is the tallest of the cast and Heather the shortest.

Cal and Blake are pretty much the same height.

Saphira is taller than Charlotte but shorter than Laura.

Bennett is taller than Laura, Hardy is shorter than Aya.

For the Onyx group Titania is the tallest, then Rini and Julia (p much the same height), then Amaria is the shortest.

I don't have exact heights though.

As for voices I got nothing. The characters just sound a certain way in my head.

Plus most of the voices actors/voice claims I would pick would most likely be from the digimon animes (eng dubs), su or the persona series since those are the only ones I actually know the va's of properly.

I tried to think of some voice headcanons but I change it too often to give you an answer now.

I guess if I had to pick I'd say Radomus could sound like Wizardmon from Digimon Adventure 1999 (Eng dub), that seems like a good fit maybe?

I had Quinton Flynn in my head for Cal, but only pre-apophyll academy. After that his voice usually becomes deeper in my mind.

it's just one of those things that if a character doesn't have voice acting it's just my voice but altered or I just pick a voice from a character I know in my head at random, it changes everytime though so no character sounds the same.

Sorry I couldn't give you proper/concrete headcanons for any of the characters :(

EDIT: After posting this I felt like Quinton would fit Fern more, actually. See what I mean? Lol.

🍒 What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)

Idiots in love who don't know it! More specifically, I love antagonistic relationships with an undercurrent of something more. A key example of this was Amy/Dan when Veep was good (so...not the last few seasons). I wish I could've written a line as good as "Amy, the gates of hell have opened and you are my plus one!" because that is ultimately the dynamic I strive for 90% of the time. The enemies to lovers trope is a classic for a reason! (The enemies to enemies who-are-boning to enemies-with-feelings to enemies-who-were-maybe-never-really-enemies trope is obviously the greatest sub-genre of said trope). Another key dynamic is awesome ladies and the himbos they feel begrudging affection towards! Sad sack dudes fighting injustice while being sad! (Basically, The X-Files?!??!?) I love it all! One dynamic that I love so much that I don't think I have enough perspective to write it is the dead girl haunting a narrative trope. (Jackie Taylor, you will always be my number one! Like Lilly Kane and Laura Palmer before you! The Solaris of it all!) I keep toying with the idea of it in different things but the legwork needed to translate what's in my head to something halfway decent feels like too much!

🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?

I probably conflate a lot of humor with banter because like...no one's telling knock knock jokes here so it's more like the dynamic of the thing is funny or it's not. That said, the end bit in that's what narcissists do cracks me up if for no other reason than because you could throw the line "It's called operant conditioning, dickhead" into Top Gun: Maverick without feeling out of place. (I also think that the Batman/Vampire references re: Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne are hilarious every time I write or read them but I'm dumb like that.)

When did we start calling them blorbos? That has to be a tumblr specific thing, right? Or I'm just An Old? Didn't they used to be referred to as Flavors of the Week/Month/Year/Embarrassingly-Extended-Period-of-Time? Apparently all I write anymore is TGM fic (let me stopppppppp) so I guess it would be Hangman? Although I almost never write in his perspective - stay tuned! maybe! this new thing might not see the light of day - so maybe it's Phoenix? I don't know, I think Hangman is a handsome idiot who deflects that he is a marshmallow encased in spectacular abs by being a jackass. And Phoenix has had to grind for every rung she has climbed and applies that well-earned weariness/caution to her relationships outside of the Navy so the only thing she can easily commit to is her lack of commitment.

I think it's almost MORE interesting to have a "blorbo" and have no canon for them. After all, fic is excuse to let your favorite characters be chameleons. If you frame something right, you can get away with a lot of differing ideas so I find that I am more flexible with "headcanons" for characters I love (re: backgrounds; not necessarily the fundamentals of what I think make the character who they are) and can't stop writing than I am for drive-by peripheral characters, to be honest. For instance, I decided while writing we're busy still saying please that Halo was a new age weirdo who was super into burning sage and healing crystals (cue Breaking Bad Hank's "it's not a rock, it's a mineral") and that tiny bit of characterization has popped up here and there ever since.

Chiudere le finestre durante il giorno e aprirle durante le ore più fresche della giornata (la sera e la notte). Fare bagni e docce frequenti e con acqua tiepida. Assumere almeno 1,5-3 litri di acqua durante la giornata. Evitare alcolici e preferire cibi che contengono molta acqua, come frutta e verdura. Quando si esce di casa, proteggere gli occhi con occhiali da sole e prevenire scottature con creme solari ad alto fattore protettivo. Indossare abiti in fibre naturali (lino o cotone) e indumenti traspiranti, meglio se di colore chiaro; evitare l'attività sportiva all'aperto nelle ore più calde».
