Caregiver Larry Daley Headcanons (Night at the Museum)

He’s developed a love of history, and he frequently takes you to the library so he can pick up new books. He’s also happy to look over whatever books you’re interested in, so he can talk about them with you.

He still works on inventing things, and he comes up with a few things for you; two of his personal favorites are the Hummer (a flashlight that turns on when you hum a specific song) and the Burrito Blanket (a huge loop of comfy fabric that you can crawl inside).

Obviously, you’re able to visit the museum as often as you’d like. It’s a fascinating place, and he’s happy to tell you all about the various exhibits…

But the real excitement comes after sundown. He takes you all over the museum and you get to talk to all the figures who live there, which is fantastically cool.

(Larry filmed you the first night you saw things come to life, and he frequently pulls out the recording to chuckle at your reaction.)

He lets you make “announcements” over the museum PA, which is pretty fun. Whether you’re singing or telling jokes or just saying hi, the museum inhabitants think it’s cute.

He teaches you some magic tricks so you can show off for Attila. Even though he knows it’s a trick, he and the other Huns make a big show of being surprised.

The museum has a lot of wild animals, so the odds are good that one of your favorites is there. Whichever one that may be, it will be excited to play with you. (And if it’s a large or predatory animal, it’ll be super careful not to hurt you.) 

Rexy adores anyone who will play fetch with him, so you can bet he loves you. If you get too tired to play, he’ll curl up next to you and accept head pats instead.

The museum is incredible at night - but it can get REALLY loud. If it becomes overwhelming, Larry will take you into the staff room so you can have a break.
