Day 2: lockdown/quarantine

WIP: I was hoping to do a ton of writing for this Lapidot anniversary week, but I'm still not feeling super creative. Lazy photoshops I can do though! Hopefully I'll repost this later with a second image and maybe a drabble with it but I wanted to get it out now it's done. This is Peridot post-bodyswap, discovering that Lapis's body can shapeshift, which means she can switch to a much more familiar form:) But with wings!

Trapped

Well, this is a fine mess. Things were just feeling back to normal and this happens. It's not like this is the worst thing that could've happened but still... Here she was, trapped with no chance of getting away. She tried. Maybe it was her own fault, it's not like this is the first time something like this happened. This is why she kept her things within arm's reach. But here she was, without her tablet, with a snoring Lapis Lazuli laying on top of her.

It took a while for her to feel comfortable after that nightmare she had. Not that Peridot minded, they had talked about it and watched a few more human movies than usual to take her mind off it. Sleep was more of a hobby than truly part of the routine, she had just gotten so used to how it feels since there was less to do at night in Little Homeworld than there was back at the barn. Others tended to complain when she'd get an idea and had to build something at three in the morning. So these days her nights without sleep tended to become sessions browsing her tablet or writing in her digital journal. Lapis tended to sleep a lot more but there were nights the two of them stayed up and did nothing together. But on nights like this... Yep, Peridot was bored out of her mind. As brilliant as her mind is, even she had to admit that it got kind of boring after a few hours. It had gotten to the point where she was just counting random things in the room that she could see. Other than that, her mind felt worryingly quiet. Was she out of ideas? Would she ever have a real thought again? Why can't she just go to sleep? She huffed in frustration, causing Lazuli to give a deep sigh in her sleep. Peridot vaguely hoped this would be followed by her rolling off of her, but no such luck. It wasn't so much how heavy Lazuli was, she's gotten out of this situation before, it was the way she was draped over her. Lapis's body had Peridot's arm pinned down while her head was somehow balanced in the hair keeping her face pressed into the mattress. All she could do is kick her legs up and wave her free arm around. She considered vaguely about trying to bring the tablet to her, but she had left it in the other room. The last time she tried to levitate it from outside had led to some unfortunate events happening she had to deal with after getting up. Still though, it wasn't all bad. At least Lapis felt comfortable going to sleep again. Before she had rolled over onto her, Peri had noticed just how peaceful Lapis looked as she slept. She was doing so much better these days; but she had to hand it to the humans, sleep seemed to bring a peace that didn't exist otherwise. She could feel the slow rhythm of Lapis' breath as she lay under her, and noticed the free blue arm that had been just outside her range of vision until now. There wasn't anything else she could do, so she reached out and put her hand in the blue hand. Ever so slightly she felt its grip tighten. A soft smile on her face, Peridot had to admit something. She may be trapped right now; but really, there's no where else she'd rather be.

Lapidot Anniversary week Days 1 & 2: Fusion + Nightmare Lapidot

I didn’t get any good ideas for these prompts by themselves, but ever since In Dreams I’ve wanted to try doing my fusion but if she was Nightmare Lapis and Peridot!

I wanted her to have a “Glitchy” feel. It’s not the best thing I’ve drawn but it was fun!

Here's Lapidot day three - First Date. I'm kind of useless (honestly the most useless) at dates but I always figure something fun and not too serious would be a nice first date...such as Mini-golf followed by a good meal. So Lapis and Peri got all dressed up and are going to play, then not need to eat before watching a movie or something.

As I said, I don't know what would or wouldn't be a good date. I just hope it’s okay for @jenhedgehog and her Lapidot week.

I think I improved some since I last posted on here, and I really enjoyed doing the prompts this week.  However, I haven’t gotten the chance to play Animal Crossing at all yet, so Steven is K.K Slider.

Confession

Peridot was in a panic. Sitting upright in her bed, the gem was kind of fidgity and unable to sit still. She had rehearsed it so much in her head but that didn't make it any easier. She knew she had to say something before it drove her mad. Sitting around waiting for Lapis was the hardest part, the longer she waited the harder it was to keep herself from going to look herself. Thankfully Lapis came in after not too long, sketchbook in hands and obviously lost in her latest meepmorp idea. This added another layer of caution to what Peridot was about to do. Peri knew it was dangerous to interrupt Lapis when she was so deep in thought but it couldn't be helped, she had to say something before Lapis thought something was up. Hugging her legs Peridot spoke up, "Hey Lapis..." Lapis looked up from her pages, slightly shocked expression on her face like she had forgotten anyone was there. "Oh hey Peri, is something up?" she asked. Peridot shifted a little, trying to work out some of her tension, "Uh.. What are you drawing?" Lapis briefly looked down before looking back at Peri, "Uh, nothing. Just trying to think of things to draw." Lapis set her notebook on the bed and was about to get in when she took notice of Peridot's odd behavior. "Is everything ok Peri? You seem kind of odd.." Lapis trailed off. Peridot stiffened a little at being called out. She mentally pulled herself back together and started talking before her resolve wavered, "There's... something I've been needing to say for a bit, but..." It was Peridot's turn to trail off. This was a lot harder than she thought. Lapis was starting to get uncomfortable. There was clearly something weighing on Peridot's mind, but she couldn't tell what this was. This wasn't her typical mechanical frustration or when there's something going on with her CPH online friends. "Did I do something wrong?" Lapis asked. "No! No! This isn't anything you've done!" Peridot said quickly. She rubbed her hands on her face out of frustration. Slapping her hands down on the mattress, Peridot gave in and forced herself to to just say what she wanted. "Lapis," Peridot said looking her in the eye, "I ate all your ice cream." They stared at one another in a silent state of surprise and shock. Suddenly Lapis threw her arms up, "Is that what all this was about?" she cried. "You had me worried sick that something was wrong!" Lapis shook her head in disbelief at the absurdity of the situation. Then a thought hit her, "Wait.. When you say all the ice cream...?" Peridot's face flushed a dark green and she buried her face behind her legs. A new level of shock washed over Lapis, "That was a whole GALLON!" "I'm sorry!" Peridot's muffled voice cried out. "I'll make you some new ice cream!" Lapis grew increasingly exasperated at the absurdity of the situation, "That's not the point! I... I'm going out for a bit to make sense of what you just told me." With that, Lapis turned and left the room. Peridot looked up to where Lapis had just left. Silently looking around the room, she couldn't help but feel like that went over better than it possibly could have. She knew better than to go after her though, when Lapis needs to clear her head, she means she needs some time to think on her own. Lifting her tablet up to her face, she began to research what she'd need to make a new gallon of ice cream. @jenhedgehog
