Mostly cause that’s the song I use for the edit comp intros

But also cause the song is all about a desire to be seen and understood and the song ends with obtaining that happiness and feeling of being loved

Mostly just a Boothill idea but with a bit of Guns N’ Roses at the end.

So first, if you haven’t listened to Daemon/Doll yet, go do that. It’s awesome.

And second, R.I.P.’s Language of the Lost is literally a perfect song for Boothill. I’d go into detail, but in reality, I’d just be copy-pasting all the lyrics to it.

So here are just some stand out ones:

As I woke up from the dream, I had lost all self esteem.

The burning home had cowed me.

I thought that I was safe, now I’ll never be the same.

Tossed aside for making a scene.

Do I know who I pretend to be? Of whom am I a copy?

Yes, it made me who I am, but I’ll never understand why it had happen to me.

That feeling of being hollowed out and having lost everything that made one who they are fits Boothill scarily well. Combine that with both the constant imagery of a burning city representing the past lost and the imagery of becoming a machine as a lost identity, it’s basically perfect.

But then we get to the bridge and final chorus. For context, R.I.P. wrote those last parts after getting into a loving and happy relationship. They said themselves they kinda forgot what sadness was when they finished the song.

To which I’ll put a part of it here:

Not robot or a doll. I’m not anything at all.

I’m just an entity finding out the way to go.

But these fingers and these palms, full of love despite the scars.

They show indisputably I have so much more to grow.

Now, take that, but put it in the perspective of Boothill meeting Argenti. Someone who sees beauty in him despite no longer being the person he used to be. Someone who treats him like a person to be cherished no matter what. Telling him that the void inside him may never be filled, but he can grow around all that he lost and become someone outside his tragedy.
