Land Rover  Bell Aurens Longnose 

The Land Rover Bell Aurens Longnose comes neither from England nor from the desert, but from Germany. It is a special conversion based on a 1967 Land Rover Series II. This mixture of 1930s sports car, desert racing boat and brute off-road monster is the creation of German Landi-lovers Thomas Bell and Holger Kalvelage. The aluminium body was handmade at Lorenz + Knorr-Held in Erlangen. Everything about this "offroadster" is special. The two seats have been moved southwards just in front of the rear axle, the rest is the bonnet. Under the longnose works a performance-optimised 4.6 litre V8 from a Range Rover, which was upgraded to 5.0 litres by JE-Engineering/Coventry. Beautiful details such as the gear knob in the shape of a cricket ball or the sidepipes, leather straps for the bonnet or the laced steering wheel complete the extravagance of this prototype of which only two were produced. Originally, the production of a small series with different motorisations up to the aircraft engine was planned. However, in the course of completing the second prototype, production had to be discontinued for lack of liquid funds and in view of the very high development and manufacturing costs.
