The walls seemed to moved themselves closer and closer, slowly shrinking the plastic blue painted box into a panic worthy size.

Y/n rushed from the cold, metal bench that fell from the concrete wall to the solid metal, dark blue paint chipping door. She let out a blood curdleing scream, the sound echoing through the miniscule gap at the bottom of the door and around the reception of the police station.

In the freezing cold room holding the reception desk, Gene stood awkwardly with a burley man checking him for substances, already having thrown his half empty cig packet onto the laminated top of the circular desk.

The blonde bobbed woman behind the computer swung her head around in the direction of the holding cells, a look of panic covering her face as a group of male and female officers ran to the second holding cell.

"She's claustrophobic."

Gene hadn't spoken since the group of four had been brought inside the deadly auraed building. Almost as soon as he'd said it, a decently loud 'oof' was heard from inside the cell, causing him to jolt in the direction of the arched doorway. Naturally, he was bungeed back into the spot by the officer next to him.

"S'all right lad, your girlfriend ain't in any trouble."

"Not my girlfriend."

The eighteen year old pratically growled at the taller and stronger man.

Soon y/n was brought kicking and screaming back into the reception. Her face was tear streaked, mouth parted and wailing. Two muscular woman carried her on either arm whilst she pulled herself down, forcing all her weight to the floor.

The three boys who where being patted down watched the younger girl launch herself backwards, a male officer running to the scene and stopping her from knocking herself out in the floor.

"Listen, you're only making this harder for yourself."

"Right so what are all the charges ?"

The woman behind the desk spoke up again, her essex accent filling the room. The man holding Sonny listing off offences that the group where being charged with.

"Right so,"

He pointed his eyes to Noah as if to tell him to state his name.

"Noah, Noah Ponte."

"He's charged with attempted shoplifting."

Noah went to interfere, telling his side of the story of how he was innocent, only to get cut off by the man who was at least six foot three.

After tapping on the keyboard, the blonde woman nodded her head in the direction of the intoxicated girl being held down, face first against the floor, by a women officer.

"And her ?"

"Underaged drinking and now resisting arrest."

The group turned to face the screaming girl, who had suddenly stopped screaming.

They saw her eyes closed and mouth drooped open. The woman holding her, now floppy, arm against her back lunged the girl up into a sitting position so they could all see her face.

Without warning of any kind, vile, yellow, acidic sick covered the officer's uniform and pooled on the floor. Y/n's y/e/c shaded eyes shot open and almost instantly drooped half shut again, vicious coughs overtaking her mouth's vomiting and her torso folding over itself. Tears watered her eyes again as she gagged, shaking as the aftermath of being sick over took her sences. After the dramatic episode which had gained everyone's attention, the seventeen year old gave a sniff and started crying.

"I wanna go home."

The group where eventually saved by a exhaused man entering the police's door at 00:34 in the morning.

"I ain't fuckin' thirty anymore Gene lad. Can't survive off of three hours sleep."

Liam gave a pointed look to his son, who was half asleep, resting his head on Y/n's shoulder whilst she sat upright which a metal bucket filled a quarter way up with sick.

"Right, what's the problem."

He hit his hands against the desk, tilting his head as the model his son was lent on started making a splashing sound. Gene slowly patted her thigh that his hand was rested on.

Y/n stumbled down the cobbled street the station was built on, Liam's car being parked with Debbie in down the street.

"A fuckin' punch up. Gene you go out and you fuckin' punch a tesco employee."

Sonny had had to be picked up by his mum, being seventeen as well, and seeing how Noah lived down the road from him he'd gone with them. Which left y/n and Gene with a very angry Liam.

"Liam I wanna go-"

Y/n interupted the singer's shouting before doubleing over and hurling up the crackers the receptionist at the police station had given her to eat. Apparently she'd been unintentionally peer pressured by her older male friends to drink, according to the lady. In reality,

"Y/n, how much did you actually drink ?"

Gene had situated the girl to the brick wall a side to them so she didn't throw up on her shoes on in the middle of the pavement.

The y/h/c girl popped her head up, now being manouvered to the back of the car with a concerned look from Debbie from the driver's seat.

"Urm well I only actually bought one strongbow, which i had with my chips, completely legal."

"Y/n, you blew 102, you clear have had more than just one strongbow."

Liam gave her a look of disbelief. It was a good thing they hadn't started driving because Debbie lurch backwards in shock.

"102 !"

"I may have finished off a few of the lads drinks."

"a few ?"

"five. I finished off five of the lads drinks... and two jagerbombs. But I only bought one !"

The inside of the car was pratically silent when they started driving back to Liam's, seeing how y/n's parents locked the doors after 11:30 and if she wasn't home by then, tough luck.

"Can I go to sleep now ?"

The girl gave an incidental yawn, Gene pulling her over to rest on his shoulder whilst answering softly,

"Yeah, i'll carry you in later. Just don't throw up again."

She had a tendancy to throw up whilst she was asleep if she was drunk, but by now with the amounts she'd brought up, Gene was suprised she hadn't sobered herself up, maybe it was mainly tiredness.

"Thanks, thanks Liam."

The situation at the rendezvous had escalated way too quick for you to handle.

A sentinel attack had occurred near the transfer point; and you received a call from an informant that the transfer had been compromised.

You zigzag against the hordes of people running away from site of the attacks; the utter chaos of the district was unprecedented.

And as you clutch the cool metal suitcase close to your body, you feel an unusually heavy dust of concrete and rubble falling from above.

You pick up on a slow, violently growling treble, as your eyes follow the sound to the top of the building. Your eyes narrow onto the sentinel – the building next to it dwarfed by its sheer size – as its claw-like hands tear the building into half; calculatingly pulling the top half of concrete office spaces apart – like it was just in another days’ work.

You hear shrieks coming from the now dissembled building – electrical wires zipping wildly, plumbing pipes bent and hanging precariously from both halves. The sentinels’ glowing red eyes surveys the top half of (what once was) the building, then scans over the bottom half. From your position, it looked like its head was just peaking over the jagged edges of the halved-building.

 It takes you a while, but you realise the sentinel had shifted its sights onto you. You feel the tension in the air; a look of sudden interest in the Sentinel – before its’ eyes flash a dangerous glinting crimson.

Your heart picks up – a deep huff of air – and you’re sprinting down the slippery alleyway.

 You have to get the suitcase away at all costs

the adrenaline screams in your ears – as you swerve into alley after alley, thankfully unsullied by the chaos and humans surrounding the busy streets just inches away.

You put on your comms device, fumbling with the earpiece in one hand before getting it onto your ear.

‘’Extraction needed NOW. I have hold of Essex-1. A sentinel is on my tail.’’ You huff, struggling to hang onto the words.

A buzzing filters through the earpiece, before a gruff, radioed voice – ‘’On the way. Keep Essex-1 safe. At. All. Costs.’’

You shut off the comms.

Tight ass

 You flick open your navigation device, pulling up the nearest helipad onto the screen.

Great. It’s 8 blocks away.

You fasten all loose articles of clothes, sling pack and tech onto yourself – handcuffing the suitcase onto your being – because which self-respecting spyssassin doesn’t carry handcuffs with them?

Your ears catch the booming destruction of the sentinel chasing behind you, but you were much too preoccupied with getting away from that certain phenomenon. (Though, you felt bad for all the collateral damage happening en route to your destination)

 You pace yourself for the next 5 blocks, making sure not to be seen by the sentinels, before sprinting full speed as you hear the chopper in the sky – giving you 3 quick loud beeps as a signal.

It was just your luck that a sentinel was smack dab in the middle of the junction that you needed to cross to get to the building that held the helipad.

 There was no time to lose. With a sentinel on your pursuit, you had a decision to make. You look back to where you last saw the sentinel – its robotic head swiveling, scanning the area for, undoubtedly, you.  

If I run out into plain sight, I’ll be dead-meat. Who knows how many other sentinels are nearby where I can’t see.

Your brain starts to buzz with an annoying kind of pain. You look back to the sentinel again, making sure that it hasn’t caught onto you.

C’mon, think... think…

Its’ head stops swiveling, eyes dead set in your direction.

Shit.

 Before you could move or think about your escape plan – you hear the rushing thunder of a jet over where the junction was.

And it doesn’t take long for the heroes to show themselves.

 The X-Force had the sentinel wrangling against them in minutes – leaving the junction wide and clear for you. You pull up your mask, before bolting across the street, not caring if you were seen or not.

 ***

 Cable notices a figure dashing out from an alleyway, and his TO eye glows with recognition and renewed interest.

‘’I have eyes on our mystery woman. Keep the sentinels busy.’’ He instructs into his comms, as he tracks behind you, swiftly catching up to you.

 I really don’t have time for this.

 Your brain moves faster than your legs, mapping out an escape route with adrenaline as its marker. Taking the elevator would put you in a vulnerable position – but you knew one other way up, though you’ve never had to test it before.

You slow down to a jog as you near the base of the building, hurriedly swinging your sling pack to the front, unzipping and pulling out your grappling hook.

Let’s see if a 50 storey building is any match for this baby.

You extend your arms straight over your head, and aim at the sky, angled slightly towards the top of the building.

‘’You’ve got nowhere else to run, sweetheart.’’ You hear a familiar voice prod at your predicament, but it was only when he heard the blasting zipline of the hook that he realized how wrong he was.

‘’Fucking slippery –‘’

Before he could finish pulling out his gun – and his sentence – you had the line secured onto the middle of your belt buckle – waving a fluid goodbye to the man before being whisked straight up towards the top floor of the building.

Cable takes aim at the rapidly ascending zipline, unsuccessfully shooting at the glass windows, just merely missing you in his wake.

His techno-organic eye glints with anticipation as he pulls forward his sub-machine gun – dialing the knob to the highest measure: 11

You could see him, receding away as fast as the ground beneath you, and watch as he fiddles with a bigger gun.

Imagine your surprise when he aims it to the ground, pulling the trigger with a booming crackle of the road around him.

 The force of the gun propels his dense body away from the concrete road – leaving it in a mess of rubble and wreckage in the process.

Cable reaches you almost instantly, grabbing you into a headlock, as the zipline gets stuck from the sudden force of Cable’s weight plunging it down.

You hawk and gag – struggling to breathe– much less get a few words out.

‘’Are you – hckhck – You’ll kill us both!’’ You labour at the words, clawing at his hand. He had no intention of letting you go, gripping you tighter when you fought and twisted, almost revealing your face as the mask inched down.

You push at the side of the building window with the heel of your foot, harder and faster – building enough momentum – before crashing through the glass and into the 49th level of the office building. You made sure to move out of the way of the window before contact, letting most of the impact fall on the man instead.

You skid across the one area of carpeted floor – the rain of scattered shards of glass piercing through the skin on your forearm, as you fall further away from the window than the man with the glinting eye.

You scan the area from your position on the floor, groaning as you roll around to push yourself off the ground. You prop yourself up on one knee, when the suitcase detaches from you, releasing its singular content on the ground.

  The vial of glowing purple solution clinks onto the laminate floor – but before you could stretch to retrieve it, you see someone moving in the corner of your eye.

You dodge his jabs left and right, fighting off the man with the bionic arm, as you get up onto your feet, straining to keep your eye on the vial.

In a fraction of a second, you catch the man recoiling a solid punch with his human hand, and everything slows down. His arm crosses half the distance between the two of you,

Now

you meet his hard fist with your palm, firm and sharp, as the pain rings through your skin, biting into it – masked only by the adrenaline and your smirk.

The man frowns, but before he could move, you kick him square in the balls – eliciting a pained grunt from him – but not before he catches your leg with his techno-organic hand, grasping it between his fingers. The mechanical parts whirr as his robotic fingers twist, slow and tight, into an almost inhuman form.

Then it starts glowing a bright and dangerous blue.

The burns come fast onto you, his metal hand like fire on your skin, mere seconds after scorching through the fabric of your denims.

‘’Got you now sweetcheeks.’’ He sneers with a gruff confidence.

You let out a scream, hands drawing out your buzzer cane from your holster with precision, clicking at the sensor as it whips a warning shot of electricity into the air. You jab it at his metal, effectively electrocuting him enough to get some leeway to escape.
