Batangas is easily accessible from Manila, making it a perfect weekend getaway destination. With various resorts, hotels, and homestays available, you can find accommodations that suit your needs and budget.
Here are some additional tips for planning your Batangas beach trip:
Consider the season: The dry season (November to April) is the best time to visit Batangas for sunny skies and calm seas.
Choose your beach based on your interests: If relaxation is your priority, Laiya Beach or Calatagan Island are ideal. For adventure seekers, Matabungkay Beach or Nasugbu's coves offer exciting activities.
Don't forget the essentials: Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a swimsuit. If you plan on venturing out to sea, bring along sea shoes for rocky areas.
Be mindful of the environment: Respect the local environment by properly disposing of your trash and avoiding damage to coral reefs.
With its stunning beaches, diverse activities, and proximity to Manila, Batangas is the perfect destination for your next beach adventure. So pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and get ready to experience paradise in Batangas!

A Nature Trip to Batangas: Exploring the Beauty of the Outdoors with My Boyfriend
Batangas, a province in the Philippines known for its stunning landscapes and natural wonders, became the perfect destination for a memorable nature trip with my boyfriend. We were both eager to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse ourselves in the tranquility and beauty of the great outdoors. Our journey to Batangas promised breathtaking views, exciting adventures, and cherished moments together.
Our first stop was Taal Volcano, a unique and picturesque destination that captivated our hearts from the moment we laid eyes on it. We embarked on a boat ride across Taal Lake, feeling the cool breeze against our faces as we marveled at the stunning view of the volcano rising majestically from the water. The hike up to the crater was an exhilarating experience, with each step revealing more of the breathtaking landscape. Standing at the edge of the crater, we were in awe of the panoramic view that stretched out before us. The sight of the emerald-green lake nestled within the volcanic crater was truly a sight to behold.
Next on our itinerary was a visit to the enchanting Laiya Beach. The powdery white sand and crystal-clear waters beckoned us to dive in and embrace the serenity of the ocean. We spent hours swimming, snorkeling, and simply basking in the warmth of the sun. As the day turned into evening, we sat on the beach, hand in hand, watching the vibrant colors of the sunset paint the sky. It was a moment of pure bliss, feeling the sand between our toes and the gentle waves lapping at our feet.
Our nature trip wouldn't have been complete without exploring the lush beauty of Mt. Maculot. We embarked on a challenging hike, navigating through dense forests and rocky terrains. As we ascended, the panoramic views of Batangas unfolded before us, rewarding our efforts. Reaching the summit, we were greeted by a breathtaking vista of rolling hills, verdant landscapes, and the sparkling waters of Taal Lake in the distance. It was a moment of triumph and awe, reminding us of the beauty and power of nature.
To further immerse ourselves in the natural wonders of Batangas, we ventured into the enchanting world of Anilao's underwater paradise. Equipped with snorkeling gear, we explored the vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life. Swimming alongside schools of fish and witnessing the intricate beauty of the coral formations left us in awe of the wonders that lie beneath the surface.
Throughout our nature trip in Batangas, we were not only surrounded by the beauty of nature but also by the warmth and hospitality of the locals. From the friendly boatmen who guided us to Taal Volcano to the locals who shared stories and recommendations, their genuine kindness added an extra layer of joy to our journey.
As our nature trip in Batangas came to an end, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the unforgettable experiences we shared. The beauty of the landscapes, the adventures we embarked on, and the moments of tranquility we found in nature will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Our trip to Batangas reminded us of the importance of taking a step back from our busy lives and reconnecting with the beauty and serenity of the natural world. It was a journey that not only strengthened our bond but also rejuvenated our spirits, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime.

TRAVELOGUE-
On February 10, 2024, we left and went to a beautiful place in Batangas for an outing. The journey was a bit of a hassle since we only had motorcycles and there were many of us in the family, but that day, we opted for motorcycles over cars. It was fun just traveling and seeing the sights along the way, and of course, feeling the breeze even though it was hot. When we arrived at MASASA BEACH BATANGAS, it greeted us a place home to beautiful and captivating views. Their place was very clean, and the people were friendly. They also showed us their pride, the well-maintained bathing area or beach.
After we finished exploring their beautiful place, they invited us to explore the towns of Batangas to witness its colorful history and culture. We toured the churches full of history, such as the Basilica ng Taal and San Jose Parish Church, showcasing the richness of religion and architecture in the region. Here, I also got to try local dishes like Batangas Lomi and Bulalo, which brought joy to my taste buds because they were incredibly delicious.
Over the next two days, we visited famous beaches in Batangas like Nasugbu and Laiya, where I was delighted by the white sand and clear water.
Finally, we went to resorts in Batangas to rest and relax. Here, I found the peace and tranquility I was looking for.
In our journey to Batangas, I didn't just explore beautiful sceneries and attractions, but I also got to learn about its history, culture, and people filled with humility. It was an experience full of wonder and appreciation for the richness of the Philippines.

By:Jacquielyn Tuazon
I wanna Tour you, From Where I Left my heart in the sand. a Deepest blue i have ever seen, a Paradise Where I can Chase the waves. This is were it began A place that is peaceful in its own ways.
If you Ask me, what is a good place for me? It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever seen.
It is the place where I can sit and think the best. With their warm sand and gentle waves, beaches have a soothing ambiance that nothing can beat. There's simply no better place to let go of daily stress than on the beach.
They say salt water heals everything, And I agree. Watching waves reminds me Of strength from the wild air. And Ive learned that You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.
We also tried Kayak, at first I was scared because of the waves that, but after I've tried it, I knew it is fun to tried kayaking.  I cannot believe myself on how do I get through the waves in Kayak. After that incredible adventure of mine I felt good. Near water is incredibly beneficial for my mental health. Kayaking eases my anxiety, reduces depression, and believe me or not It increases my self esteem.
If only I can turn back time I would want to stay and feel the moment when I was in calayo.
Batangas first came to be known as Bonbon. It was named after the mystical and fascinating Taal Lake, which was also originally called Bonbon. Calayo beach is knowned beach and one of the most beautiful beaches in Batangas, thanks to its white sand and clear waters. Similar to Boracay's Puka Beach, parts of Laiya Beach also feature bits of crushed shells.

We went to Laiya Coco Grove Beach Resort in Batangas last April 2016. I was actually thinking to come back there again with my husband this summer. Unfortunately, they closed for redevelopment last July 2018 as per their Facebook page. Until now, there’s still no advice if when they will open again. Although the beach resort is not in operation as of the moment, I still decided to blog about it for memories’ sake.
We actually had a great time in that place. It was kind of a long trip though. We stayed there overnight and enjoyed their buffet. It’s actually the food that we enjoyed there the most.
HOW TO GET THERE FROM MANILA:
From Cubao, you are going to ride a bus to San Juan, Batangas.  Take the ALPS Bus. The fare costs more or less 200php per person.
From San Juan, right in front of the Municipal Hall, either you ride a Laiya or Hugom-bound jeepney, or a tricycle bound to Laiya. We chose to ride a tricycle and we spent 150php because it was really a long trip. The trike directly brought us to the entrance of Laiya Coco Grove. Riding a jeep is cheaper.
ROOM RATES: I already forgot the room rates but the photo below shows all the details of our booking.
Tumblr media
I booked for a couple cabin online which was ₱2, 164.50/night.  Here are the inclusions:
Air-conditioned rooms with own Toilet and Bath (Cabin Room Accommodation and SHARED bath)
Towels and toiletries
Managed buffet dinner, breakfast, and lunch upon check out
Free use of WiFi
Free use of the beach, swimming pool, and cabanas
Use of White Beach facility
Use of playground and volleyball area
Board games like Scrabble, chess, monopoly, etc.
TERMS AND POLICIES:
Tumblr media
BEACH: They have two beaches. The first one is in the area and the so-called “White Beach” is like a few blocks away. You can hardly enjoy swimming at their beach because it is stony. That is why the management suggests going to White Beach instead. They offer free van-ride to their guests so you don’t have to worry about traveling back and forth.
Laiya Coco Grove Beach
Laiya White Beach
POOL: They also have a swimming pool which is available until the evening. At some time during the day, it is closed for cleaning.
Laiya Coco Grove Swimming Pool
FOOD: We availed their lunch and dinner buffet so we don’t have to worry about what and where to eat. They served a variety of Filipino food and fruit juice. I can say that eating at their buffet was what we enjoyed the most. We just bought some food for the snack like the halo-halo and potato chips.
STAFFS: The staffs were accommodating. We were welcomed warmly and escorted to our room by the attendant. The van driver who brought us to White Beach and fetched as after was nice and friendly, We were accommodated accordingly. 🙂
OTHER OPTIONS: Staying in Laiya Coco Grove Beach Resort was really an awesome experience. We would always want to go back. It actually saddened me when I found out that they closed for redevelopment. On the other hand, it led me to search for other beach resorts in Laiya. So if you are planning to spend your summer in Laiya, Batangas here are some suggestions for you.
Acuatico Beach Resort & Hotel
Sabangan Beach Resort
Virgin Beach Resort
Blue Coral Beach Resort
Estrellas de Mendoza Playa Resort
Palm Beach Resort
Acuaverde Beach Resort
Kabayan Beach Resort
Laiya White Cove Beach Resort
Buracai de Laiya Hotel and Resort

Canyon Cove is located in Nasugbu, Batangas. This was my second time to visit the place. I normally don't go anywhere twice but we were looking for a great beach in Batangas. Caliraya, Laiya and Nasugbu came into mind but I want a shore that's not rocky or at least swim without the need for a boat to take them somewhere to do so. So I thought of why not here? Taste of their food is not bad, almost white fine sand, great beach cove, relaxing pool. Belgian colleagues aporoved. 👍✔😉 (at Canyon Cove) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5JMiB6HzRf/?igshid=vjs3vhatqb5q

Nature Hopping On Summer Days
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't be stranger in your very own land. The Philippines which is a peninsula is composed of 7, 641 islands and islets. Let's start exploring. The three major islands are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Explore Mindanao and see for yourself it's natural beauty of the following Dakak Beach Resort, Dapitan City, ZaNorte, Samal Island, Davao del Norte and Sta. Cruz Island, Zamboanga City. In Visayas visit the following destinations Limasawa Island, Limasawa, Southern Leyte, Sumilon Island, Oslob, Cebu and Boracay Island, Aklan and lastly here in Luzon explore the beaches of Laiya Beach, Batangas, Fortune Island, Batangas and Masasa Beach, Tingloy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the most suggested tourist spot here in Luzon is found in Tingloy, Batangas known as Masasa Beach. Only three to four hours of travel from Manila, Masasa is one of the most accessible beach. Masasa Beach is found in the southern portion of Tingloy Island, a fifth class municipality in the province of Batangas. Tingloy is consisting of the radish shaped Maricaban Island, Caban Island and so many minor islets. It is located south of the Calumpang Peninsula in between mainland Batangas and the island of Mindoro.
Masasa Beach is considered the jewel of Tingloy, Batangas. Though located in the fift class municipality of Batangas. Masasa is so precious because of what it can offer to the visitors. The truth is, the sand here isn’t as pearly white as what you would expect in Boracay or Palawan, but what Masasa Beach lacks in the brightness of its sand it makes up for in the vibrance of waves. Its crystal clear, shallow waters give off a beautiful turquoise shimmer, something that will catch your attention even from a great distance. You can do the following activities such as Beach bum and swim, Snorkelling, Go island hopping and Trek to Mag-asawang Bato. See for yourself the real wonder of Masasa Beach go island hopping and visit Oscar Beach, Tawil Point, Sepoc Point, Lagoon and Sombrero Island.  The natural beauty of Masasa can be found on the marine life itself. Since, it is an unexploited island you can still found the most uncommon marine creatures and the beach itself.

Laiya is one of Manila’s closest beach. Just hop on a bus from any major terminals in the metro, and then within 3 to 4 hours, you will find yourself photo bombing the picture-perfect ivory strip of Batangas province. Laiya is also close the Batangas’ tastiest lomihan and gotohan, so don’t forget to drop by during your visit.
Just another jump shot fail
How to get to Laiya
Via San Juan
The fastest way to Laiya is via San Juan. Take ALPS Bus from either EDSA Nepa Q-Mart, Araneta Center Cubao, or Alabang Grand Terminal to San Juan, Batangas. The earliest trip leaves at 3:00AM and the last trip departs at 5:00PM. ALPS Bus has 12 total departures per day. The fare is ₱190.
In San Juan, right in front of the Municipal Hall, board a Laiya- or Hugom-bound jeepney. Take note that the last departing jeepney to Laiya leaves at 5:00PM. There are also tricycles that are willing to take you to Laiya but you just need to shell out more.
Via Lipa
From Pasay Buendia, EDSA Kamuning, or Araneta Center Cubao, take Ceres Tours, DLTB, JAM, Batangas Star Express, RRCG, etc to Lipa City, Batangas. Travel Time is about two hours and the fare ranges from ₱135 to ₱150.
From Lipa bus terminal, take a jeepney or van to San Juan, Batangas. The van is faster but will cost you much higher.
And then from San Juan, take a jeepney or tricycle to Laiya.
It would’ve been cooler if someone tosses a volleyball
Things to do in Laiya
First in the list, of course, is beach bumming. You can also try other beach activities like volleyball and building sand castles. Banana boat is also available for ₱1,500 per group of 10 for 15 minutes. You can also try boating which you can rent for ₱1,500 for three hours. Snorkeling gears are also available for rent if don’t have one.

Batangas
Looking for water parks and beach resort near Metro Manila? Here is the list of the best Batangas Beach resorts, hotels, and water parks for your 2019 summer vacation. We included new affordable Batangas beach resorts and old favorite places you will continue to love. Batangas is one of the most visited provinces in the country because of its nice beaches and its accessibility from Manila (just 2 hours from Manila)
1.Calayo Beach Resort-  If you can’t be contained in one place then go to this beach resort because aside from their pool, beach and other amenities they offer trekking tours to Mt. Palay-Palay and Pico de Loro. They’re located in a secluded area where you can stay quiet for as long as you want to.
2.CML Beach Resort and Waterpark-  This beach resort has a more serious ambiance so it would be fitting if you’re a businessman who’s vacationing with your family. They have function halls and conference rooms for your team outings. There are pool slides where your kids can enjoy as well as water toys and an infinity pool. Definitely one of the best affordable beach resorts in Batangas with swimming pool and other top-notch amenities.
3.Soler Sea Seaside Resort Balayan-  Celebrity couple Robin Da Roza and Maffy Soler are the proud owners of this serene get away. It’s a 3-4 hour drive from Manila where you can enjoy water activities. There’s a kitchen which you can use under staff’s supervision and you can order alcoholic drinks while you’re there.
4.Virgin Beach Resort-  This is one of the nicer beach resorts that Laiya has to offer. It’s open for weddings and team outing due to its huge beach space. They also offer activities like a fly board, flying fish, bandwagon and speedboat. They serve their meals buffet style so you’ll never go hungry.
5.Laiya White Cove Beach Resort-  The vicinity is quiet and the waves calm so it’s perfect for couples. They have picnic grounds and activity area. There’s an option for you to dine outdoor and try water sports activities. The beauty of the place makes up for the lack of posted rates on their website.
6.Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort-  Try staying in a stilt cottage this summer. It’s a unique adventure to stay at a floating cottage where you get a more realistic experience of the gentle waves crashing the poles. The sound of the water will be more intense in this part of the resort too.
That’s my top six most Beautiful Beach resorts in Batangas.

Make Batangas Your Perfect Summer Getaway This Year
Batangas is maybe one of the most accessible weekend destinations near Metro Manila. It is a popular getaway for work-torn city dwellers who sometimes want to seek solace from the chaotic urban lifestyle and pack their bags for a restful weekend vacation somewhere not too far from the city. So, yeah, Batangas may be your next  best destination.
Spend summer fun time at Laiya and Calatagan
Tumblr media
Batangas showcases a wide range of beaches: white, black, deep, shallow, and what-not. But the most family-friendly beaches are mostly found in Calatagan and Laiya in San Juan.
Relive the past at the Taal Heritage Town
Tumblr media
Be teleported and travel back through time as you venture this quaint town located at the poblacion of Taal. Their Main attractions are the well-preserved old buildings that were constructed during the Spanish colonial period that were transformed and reused as museums.
Visit the magical albeit nearly abandoned Fantasy World
Tumblr media
While on your way to and from Taal, just along the Diokno highway, you will definitely notice the palaces, castles, and towers of the Fantasy World. It was meant to be an amusement park along with residential and hotel complexes originally planned to be the local version of Disneyworld, until investment prospects went bad.
Visit Batangas Provincial Capitol Complex
Tumblr media
The complex is nonetheless worth navigating and exploring because it’s maybe  one of the largest in the country. When you’re done with that, try checking the city to see how the people of Batangas spend their  ordinary day.
Tips to Travelers
Taking the Tagaytay route is a bit longer by almost three hours, but there’s a more picture perfect view as you would pass through Diokno highway*, where the Fantasy World, Canyon Woods, and Pacific Height.
