Banks' very abstract description, ships that need to be adapted a little and the rock which is really a piece of a planet, impossible to give identifiable details as one could do on an asteroid… I worked on a slightly larger format: 90x60cm.  The color rendering of this jpeg is not extraordinary, digital devices still have difficulty reproducing certain ranges, but we have a good idea of ​​the original. The novel, translated by P. Dusoulier, is truly superb.
