      “ so much for stealth, brother. ”    vex’s words were gently chiding as she spoke, though her gaze was soft, checking him over for any lingering injuries. the thought that the briarwoods had hurt him this badly was more than enough for her to want to make them pay, but it would seem, at least, that making them pay for anything would have to wait. house arrest was hardly ideal, but it was preferable to sitting in a cell.  as she mused on this, she paused at vax’s words, looking at him for a long moment. 

    “.. of course. ”   if she was surprised, she didn’t let it show, simply moving to sit by her twin’s side, wrapping her arms around him securely, curling against him in a way she would have when they were children, forehead pressing gently against the crook of his neck. she wished poor, dear trinket hadn’t been tied up outside.. he would be the perfect addition to this little hug, and vex breathed a soft sigh, tightening her hold.. just a little. 

  “ i’m glad you’re safe. ”
