Letter 💌, hi yes hello! So since i couldn’t finish “I like you so much, you’ll know it” because of my poor motivation i present you this short drabble!! P.S, slightly edited in the first part but the bonus part isn’t haha, tsukki again might be OOC because like- idk how to write Haikyuu characters (I PROMISE IM GETTING BETTER I SWEAR-) Also by the time this is uploaded I didn’t write the tsukishima fanfic song fic because I had to do missing assignments so I’m really sorry!! Pen/paper: Y/N means 'your name' L/N means 'last name' Blue is Y/N, Yellow is Tsukishima, Pink is waiter, Orange is Hinata.

Y/N L/N and Tsukishima Kei had been dating for a few months and now both were comfortable with handholding and small PDA, though tsukishima was a bit overwhelmed (if you can say that) he was still okay with it but if it was with Y/N, he was definitely okay, he loved them so much that he took them in a date in a small café by there house. It wasn’t a simple study date like the others instead it was an actual date- Tsukishima did want to take them out on a museum but he settled on this idea because it seemed nice and subtle. Both were simply talking about the menu items and what to order and settled on a strawberry shortcake cake, coffee cake, and a espresso con-panna. “You don’t want a drink tsukki?” Tsukishima looked up from his menu paper thing (SJHS IDK WHAT THERE CALLED-) “No it’s fine.” He said a bit blunt. ‘Was he awkward??’ they though as a small ‘uh’ was left from Y/N as they asked him again but Tsukishima reassured that it was fine as the waiter came to there table and asked what they wanted. Both had told the waiter want they wanted as the waiter wrote it down on the small notebook they had as they then nodded saying that there food will come shortly as the two continue to talk a bit more. “How’s practice? Is Hinata and Kageyama still causing you trouble?" Y/N giggled as Tsukishima gave a small sigh “Not really no, but they have been nagging me to help them study more." Another small laugh came from Y/N mouth as tsukishima cheeks were dusted with pink. “Haha you probably should so they stop bothering you" they smiled as tsukishima looked at the small window besides them as he put his chin at the edge of his palm. Looking bored, He then gave out a response “I should but they’re really annoying" "So? you help me study so why not them?" “Because you’re my S/O.” “And there your teammates!” Y/N gave another giggle " Be nice to them" they kept smiling. “I’m already nice enough to them.” “Hmmm...you got a point there at least your nice enough to actually help them study.” They let a small sigh as Tsukishima eyed Y/N the looking at the window again. “Fine, I’ll help them study more even though it’s there fault that all they think about is volleyball.” “Huh nno its fine if you don’t really want too tsukki! I don't wanna make you feel bad for not trying to help more-you already do so much for them!" Y/N tried to reason with Tsukishima even though Y/N kinda insisted. Before Tsukishima could say anything back the waiter had come back with the things that they ordered “Here is your strawberry cake” they set down the strawberry shortcake in front of Tsukishima as they also settled down the coffee cake and the espresso con-panna infront of Y/N. “And your coffee cake and aswell your drink!” The waiter smiled as Both had thanked the waiter as they left soon leaving the two alone. They were quite but soon Y/N was done with eating there desserts, putting the cup on top of the small plate where the coffee cake used to be as they looked at Tsukishima. “Do you want some?” He asked while he grabbed a small part of his strawberry shortcake with the fork. Y/N blushed as they refused it but tsukishima raised his fork to Y/N, offering a bit to them. Y/N eyes wided a bit as they moved closer to eat the cake from his fork. They pulled away as they chewed the food. A small ‘ahh’ was released from Y/N mouth

“ahh tsukki that was really good!" Y/N smiled as tsukishima gave off a small smile aswell.

Despite your love of parties, work gatherings were something you never looked forward to. At least you didn’t work in an office. You heard office parties were boring. Which is why, about an hour into the yearly work party, you sulked off unnoticed and went down to the bar that was two blocks away. 

Apart from the fact it was planted in the middle of Gotham, it was a nice place. There were old posters and postcards all along one wall, while the wall behind the bar itself was completely mirrored. There was a divider at the back that segregated the two pool tables, and off behind the bar were four smaller rooms for ‘meetings’. 

At this time of the day - seven-thirty - there were only a few people seated at the tables. 

You made quick work of ordering your drink, then took one of the pool tables as our own. You were always good at aiming, making bets on pool games easier, and also making your ‘other job’ easier too. 

By nine-thirty, two of the ‘meeting’ rooms were occupied, as with the other pool table - a group of giggling college kids. Most spots at the bar were taken too, along with more tables. Over the past two hours, three people - haughty men who didn’t know how to lose gracefully - had challenged you to games of pool. 

You became three-hundred dollars richer, and the night was still young. 

Another man approached, however this one wasn’t one you were unfamiliar with. Shining blue eyes, broad shoulders, wearing a dark suit and a smile you knew all-too-well. Well, you’d never met Bruce Wayne personally, but after the last week-worth of nights, you’d recognize that smile and those eyes anywhere. The question was, did he recognize you too?

“Fancy some company?” he asked, leaning on the side of the pool table as you shot, balls clacking together as you looked up at him. This was going to be fun.

“Fancy losing some money?” 

“Oh,” he said, quirking up an eyebrow, “Can afford to pay for your drinks?” 

“No,” you shook your head smiling, “You pay for the company.” 

“Funny, you don’t look like a prostitute.” he said, lips moving into a smug grin.

“Oh no, I’m not one of those.” You moved around the table, shooting a shot, putting three balls in one go. “If you wanna play this with me, you pay. You win, you get your money back and a free game after. You loose, you scram and I get the money.” You lent on your cue, smiling up at him innocently. He walked over to the cue rack, taking one of the larger ones, and pulled out a wad of hundreds. 

“Enough for you?” he said, a glint in his eyes that told you that, yes, maybe he did know who you were after all. You nodded, smiling wider. 

“I better get another drink.”  

By twelve, you’d beaten him at almost as many games as you’d lost. But at least you’d both loosened up. He’d ditched his suit jacket and tie, while you’d discarded your jacket and shoes. He did look good, all focused with his shirt sleeves rolled up and cheeks tinted pink from all the drinks. He had a permanent grin on his face, and you noted that right before he shot the balls, he’d bite his lip in the cutest way. 

You weren’t sure you looked that good playing pool, but the fact he was the fourth guy that joined you made you think you mustn’t look too bad. 

He shot again, missing any of the colored balls, and sinking the white one instead. You erupted in giggles from your perch on the stool you’d dragged over about an hour and a half ago, and he sent you a pout, fishing the white ball from under the table. 

“C’mon (y/n), cut me some slack. You’ve been pushing me all night.” he punctuated his last words, stepping closer until he was about a foot or so away. You looked up at him, tilting your head.

“What, can’t keep up?” 

“You’ve been saying that all night too,” he started, blinking slowly at you, “I know only one other person that says that to me.”

“They cool?” 

“She’s amazing.”

“Pretty?”

“Beautiful.”

“Smart?”

“Super, with a quick mouth to match.” 

“Sounds like a catch. If I didn’t like someone else so much right now I might even go for her myself.” He blinked slowly again, tilting his head much like how you did earlier, a cheeky smile reaching his lips.

“They cool?”

“He’s the best.”

“Handsome?”

“Breath-taking.”

“Strong?”

“I’m pretty sure he could take on Superman if he wanted to.” 

“If I were you, dear (y/n), I’d snatch him up before someone else could.” You sighed, dramatically laying a hand over your chest.

“Oh, but he’s so committed to his work. And he out of my league. And he’s so damn heroic. He’d never have the time for someone like me.” He stepped closer as you spoke, subtly moving between your legs with a quiet chuckle. 

“He might be able to make the time. For someone like you it shouldn’t be hard.” he said, nudging your nose with his as one of his hands came to rest on your waist, the other still holding his pool cue. 

“Hey hey.” You said, placing a hand on his chest to halfheartedly push him away, lips pulled up at one side. “What about that other ‘amazing’, ‘beautiful’, and ‘super-smart’ gal? Gonna ditch her for little me?” 

“I think you know that the other ‘gal’ is still you. Don’t you, Valentine?” Bruce said, taking your hand from his chest to press a kiss to it. 

“Maybe.” you said, drawing out the start of the word with a hum, “But you might have to prove it.” 

In no more than a moment, his hand had released yours, weaving his fingers through the hair at the base of your head to pull you close and flush to his chest. His lips were slow against yours, warm and inviting and oh-so-delicious even with the taste of the bar’s whiskey tainting his tongue. 

He sure as hell had enough practice to kiss this good. 

You could feel his touch everywhere. Your lips, jaw, waist, back, arms, legs, stomach. It was intoxicating in a way that no alcohol could replicate. 

And his smell. Oh god, he smelled heavenly. If you were sentimental you might’ve thought he smelt like home. 

But like all good things, it ended too quickly. 

A wooden crash sounded, and your realized both his hands were on you, sacrificing holding up his pool cue to touch you more. 

“Hey, you two! You wanna get all frisky, you take it outside!” the bartender said, frowning at you both and your compromising position. You let out a snicker as Bruce smiled. 

“Look’s like your times up rich boy.” you said, pecking his lips one more time, pushing him away as you slid off your stool. 

“Don’t just up and leave, not again.” He caught your hand in his before you went too far.  

“But it’s my specialty.” He gave you a pointed look, stepping closer again.

“At least let me walk you home.”

“Do you not trust me to walk myself home?” you said, voice soft as you squeezed his hand and letting it go.

“I do,” he groaned, “But after tonight I don’t know if I want you away from me.” 

“Keep it in your pants Wayne.” You said, smiling cheekily as you backed towards the door to outside the bar, “At least until I see you next.” He was craving you, as you were him, but you much preferred to play around a little first. 

Most people had to pay to play, but now Bruce earned being able to play for free. And man, was this going to be fun.

like im neutral on them as a Couple and whatnot (also in part bc i do LIKE riker&troi, i do, but im not obsessed with them yet)  but omg idk... its like i said its been pretty unobtrusive does tht make sense. usually tht shit is crammed down ur throat in some manner, like- even if its just in terms of jealousy or whatveer but... on MULTIPLE occasions, it feels like, both troi and riker have like shown interest in the New Character of the Week. and i realised it with uhhhh the ep (runs to check) THE VENGEANCE FACTOR. bc its like him and troi were sat there eating together and the girlie of the week came over and she, like, got up and was like :3 i’ll leave you to it- AND I DONT KNOW? Obvi I like the anathema palette bc I put my hairs in that, but the saccharine (?) is really really good and there are tons of hairs in that. and the WMS palette is so so so good there are just too many swatches for me to do that palette tbh

little update from lin: 

what i’m planning to do is to first post all of my male idol drabbles, (i finished chris, jisung, and today hyuck. i still need to post yeonjun, baek, hoon, and yeosang) then i’ll be reposting my entire kinktober for your viewing pleasure! 

i think i’ll post kinktober next week? all my drabbles for kinktober are relatively short, ranging from 200-300 words rarely up to 600 so i think i’m good to go. it’s just that revising and editing them is way harder than expected and my format has changed since two years ago (since my kinktober was written in 2020 lol) so yeah idk we’ll see if uni kicks my ass next week :D

my kinktober list will be released in 5s! i’ll post 5 drabbles a day and that’ll leave me with 6 sets of drabbles. on saturday (5th of feb) i’ll post the halloween special as a solo since it’s pretty lengthy,, and it just so happens to line up correctly

after that i think i’ll take a break? since by then i’ll be posting consecutively ever since i opened my blog. ik i’ve been just reposting shit but i should take a break! besides i kinda started on a umm... valentine’s special and its like... filthy. so i’m working my ass off for that LMAO

but yeah! i think that’ll be my schedule for now,, things might change bc of uni (eugh hate it there) but we’ll never know let’s just hope everything goes as planned bc i do not wanna juggle school and my writing like last time!

bc i should provide some commentary for each and every song on this amazing, iconic, legendary album

alrighty, let’s do this

youngblood - i fell in love with this song on the first listen back when it was released as a single. so fucking good. i all but scream the chorus every time i listen to this song (and am either home alone or driving alone in the car)

want you back - ahh, yes, our first glimpse into the brilliancy of this album. wasn’t thrilled with the song the first time around, but it’s come to grow on me. i’m weak for a good falsetto, and the guitar riffs are very nice. an excellent summer song. (this whole album is extremely summer-y, they really nailed it when it came to picking a release date!)

lie to me - a little reminiscent of old 5sos. i love it! also sounds a bit like a rejected later 1d song. i don’t know any of the songwriting credits just yet on the album, but it wouldn’t surprise me if liam or louis contributed to this one (or wrote the whole song and sold/gave it to the band).

valentine - [nick jonas voice] it’s about SEX. no, seriously, this is about eating out and i’m fucking hERE FOR IT. the ultimate summer sex bop. i can’t wait to listen to this song while i’m lounging by the pool and just let my imagination do its thing. also, hi michael!!!! it’s funny that now listening to him sing i’m like “it’s dalton 2.0!” when in reality it’s 5sos that i became a fan of first so dalton is really like michael 2.0, lol

talk fast - a fucking BOP. another chorus that can only be sung at the loudest volume ever. i just wanna get up and dance around to this song like i’m 12 again. it’s just so good.  (also maybe some 1d vibes???? i don’t know.  it’s very pop-y but like good pop.)

moving along - also reminiscent of old school 5sos. (that’s kinda it. i’m not a huge fan of this song??? it’s just alright to me.)

if these walls could talk - this is like,,,,,,,, club music. not like some big electronic dance number, but definitely a song to be blasted and danced to. i fucking love it. (this song is also about SEX)

better man - opening sounds like a shawn mendes song. buildup to chorus (is that called the hook?) sounds like bastille (straight from “campus”) and the chorus is vaguely magic!-like. very catchy summer-y song. also kinda makes me wanna get up and dance.

more - this is angry. so much anger and raw energy.... yes. this feels like the new 5sos we all wanted and deserve. perfect blend of the old & new sounds. so!!! fucking!!! good!!!

why won’t you love me - i feel like i’m talking too much about how this “sounds like old school 5sos” but, like,,,,,,, it’s been so long since i listened to and loved this band so i’m nostalgic okay???? luke’s vocals are fantastic. i’m weak for falsettos and the high notes in the chorus (particularly those computerized background ones) vaguely remind me of ajr. this song is so good (even if it’s pretty sad when you listen to the lyrics)!

woke up in japan - this + “lost in japan” makes me think that japan must be a really fun place to visit, lol. those harmonies make me melt. i love solid, strong harmonies. 

empty wallets - i hate that it’s 2018 and i still get ashton & calum’s voices confused sometimes. i can’t tell who’s opening this song but i like it. such a funky instrumental for the verse you just wanna bop your head to. such a badass-yet-chill summer song. also probably about sleeping with prostitutes, i think?????

ghost of you - this song is confusing bc it sounds so pretty instrumentally, almost like a sweet love song, but then you listen to the lyrics and it’s so not????? i bet that was done intentionally. dammit, boys! how dare you play me like this!!!! (seriously, if you ignore the lyrics it’s almost like a ‘first dance at a wedding’ song.... but then you listen to the lyrics and you’re like nope, nevermind.)

monster among men - verse also sounds very old school, but not like 5sos old school, more like ‘early 2000s rock’ kind of old school. i dig it. hi michael, again!!! i’m not a huge fan of songs where the instrumentals of the verses and chorus sound like two different songs but this one isn’t terrible. that damn chorus is just so infectious. 

meet you there - this song is like so confusing for me bc the verse is so funky and badass and amazing but the instrumental (i guess chorus???) part is like...... a mess????? there’s like a trend of songs with breakdowns, i guess you can call them, like that and idk what you call that subgenre but i’m not a huge fan???????? i dunno. the song might grow on me. we’ll see.

babylon - so according to tumblr this song was written my calum and i’m with all of you when i say: LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!! this song is so fucking good. more lyrics you must scream when singing them. a fucking sick guitar riff. i swear this song needs a mosh pit or something. short story time: i listened to the album on my way to and from school today and i made it to this song on the way home and nearly got emotional picturing this song performed live--mostly bc the last and only time i saw them live was sooooooooo good and the absolute most fun i ever had at a concert and i miss it a lot and want to see them live again really badly now. i thought i was over this band but listening to this album just brought, like, a wave of love and admiration over me and i really can never be “over” them, i really can’t. this is supposed to be commentary on this one last song on the album but dammit man, it’s getting emotional and honest. this band was never at the top of my list back when i had a plethora of groups i was obsessed with, but that doesn’t mean i love them any less. honestly, they’re like all i have left since most of the groups i liked at one time are split up (the vamps are still a thing but until brad shares lead vocals on tracks with james and connor like 5sos does, i’m basically done with them) so i cling to that as much as i can. listening to their music, new and old, just brings me back to the good old days of high school, freshman year (and whenever i saw them live - it was over the summer so i forget which year it was!!!) and god, i’m actually getting teary-eyed typing all this, ugh-- this band disappeared for like 3 years but i still love them and i don’t think that’ll ever change.

that would be such a good place to end all this but this is supposed to be a review so um

overall thoughts: good!!!! very good overall. all the posts calling the album perfect and stuff are fun and nice but everyone definitely has songs they like more over others, as you can see here. no one song is bad, exactly, just not as good as some other ones, in my opinion. but as a whole package (*insert snickering here from immature 12 year old me*), it’s excellent. i was skeptical of 5sos’ new sound when “want you back” came out, but i’m now regretting ever feeling that way bc it’s great. shows a lot of growth and it’s not bad at all. different from their older stuff, but mature!!! i like it a lot!

i don’t think i’ve ever really given grades for album, but

9/10.

(not sure if it’s an accurate grade, looking at those songs i’m not as thrilled with, but the heart wants what it wants, and the heart wants to give this album a 9, so i’m going to, dammit!)

Wally didn’t lick him. He only had enough brain power right now to stare up at Dick. “Wally, are you asking me out on a date?” Dick teased.

I wrote half this at like 3 am and I barely edited it and I haven't written fic in years so like. Concrit is helpful? idk

“Rob”

Wally was draped over the couch in Mount Justice, pushing himself onto Robin’s lap as he whined. Robin stared straight ahead (or at least what Wally assumed was straight ahead, it’s always a little hard to tell with those glasses) at the TV.

Not the reaction Wally wanted. He wiggled himself farther into Rob’s lap, pushing his feet against the arm of the couch for leverage. When he was where he wanted, shoulders resting on the other boy’s thighs, he opened his mouth again.

“Rooo-oooob” He pitched his voice in a way that stretched one syllable into two.

This time Dick did actually look down, his bangs falling forward as he stared down at Wally. He did say anything at first, just raised an eyebrow, then after a moment a gently huffed “what?” that was most a puff of air on Wally’s cheeks.

Wally plastered on his most shit-eating grin. “Hi”

Ok so in Wally’s defense, he totally saw the hand coming. Totally.  He just didn’t wanna move ok? Dick’s palm smooshed over Wally’s face, with his nose poking between his fingers. Wally, of course, licked it.

Dick coiled back, nose scrunching. “Dude gross.” He wiped his palm on the shoulder of Wally’s flannel shirt, which Wally supposed was fair, but he still reached up to flick Dick’s nose in revenge. Rob made a gesture that indicated he was rolling his eyes under the glasses, and looked back to the TV.

Shit. He’d have to start over.

“Rob!”

It worked a little better this time. He thinks. Rob is kinda glaring at him now.

“Wally you better not lick me again.”

Wally held his hand above his face, equal parts defense and truce. “I’m not gonna, I’m not gonna. Geez, Rob, I’m not that big of a-”

“Don’t say it”

“-Dick” The shit-eating grin returns.

“Aaaaand you said it. You’re lucky everyone else is out right now” Dick pinched the bridge of his nose, but he grinned a little. Success. “Why are you like this?”

“I dunno, but you love me for it” Wally wiggled his shoulders in Dick’s lap in a weird little dance.

Wally almost missed it, but he could swear he saw Dick’s face get slightly pink at that. But it was gone just as fast, so he brushed it off as a trick of the light from the TV. Dick rapped the back of his knuckles against Wally’s forehead.

“You shut up, you smart ass”

Wally wanted to say ‘but you love this ass’, but he bit it back. He had a mission. Focus, West.

“Fine, but I was gonna ask you something, but I guess you’ll never know now” Wally stuck out his tongue for good measure, pouting a little.

Dick just looked down at him and raised an eyebrow.

Um. When did he stop looking like a little shit when he did that and more like he was maybe attractive? Look, Wally wasn’t blind, he could tell Dick was kinda maybe hot. There’s a reason girls and maybe some guys tended to swoon over him, but shit. Ok so maybe, just maybe, Wally noticed a bit more than he’d like to admit. It’s not like he was opposed to dudes, hell he was bi, but Dick was his bro. Bros don’t kiss bros.

Wally mentally slapped himself. Focus. Mission.

Wally’s throat was suddenly a little dry. “Um.”

Dick hiked his eyebrow up a little higher - if that was even possible - and the beginnings of a smirk pulled at his lips.

Wally squirmed for a moment. “Ok fine” He was a little nervous, especially when Dick has his face like that, but decided to bite the bullet “Um so Singles Awareness Day also known as Valentine’s Day is coming up and like. I don’t know if you noticed, dude, but we’re both painfully single right now, especially me since Arty and I just broke up like a couple months ago, so the thing I had planned with her is obviously not gonna happen, and like I dunno, I got nothing to do that day and -”

“I was only kidding Wally” Dick managed to get out in a hiccupy breath between laughs.

Wally pouted a little, rolling over to face the TV with a huff. “You’re meaaaannnn” He whined.

Dick slowly came down from his giggle fit, and reached over to lightly tap Wally’s forehead. Wally ignored him. Mostly.

Dick huffed, in the way the made Wally think he was rolling his eyes. “Yes, we can hang out on Valentine’s Day. How about some popcorn and Pacific Rim?”

Wally rolled over again to look at Dick. His smile was a lot less smirky and a lot more smiley now, gentler around the edges.

“I don’t know, you were mean to me, maybe I don’t want to go on a date with you anymore”

“I’ll get you bad chocolates and those conversation hearts you like for some ungodly reason.”

Fuck. He’s pinned.

Riley just announced on screen that Gypsy Danger runs on analog when Wally crams the last handful of popcorn in his mouth, emptying the bowl. He chewed and screwed up his face as he almost got a kernel stuck between his teeth again.

His feet rested in Dick’s lap, with the other boy’s arms over his calves, in the loveseat they shared. He wiggles his feet a little.

“Dude the best part is coming up, time to break out the candy!”

Dick leaned over the arm, grabbing the plastic bag filled with Wally’s desired sugary goodness from where it sat on the floor, and Wally bounced his legs a little, partly excited for the candy, but mostly just releasing energy.

“Don’t eat all the candy, I want some too” Dick said, handing over the bag.

“I won’t, I won’t, jeez cut me some slack” Wally went straight for the chocolate, deciding to leave his favorite, the conversation hearts for last.

He popped open the bag and passes Hershey’s kisses over to Dick, but never tearing his eyes from the screen as Gypsy Danger fought the Kaiju. It didn’t escape his notice though that Dick fingers lingered on his own whenever they passed more kisses between them.

And when the action on screen was less urgent, Wally spared peeks over to the other side of the loveseat, split second looks, and it definitely didn’t escape his notice that Dick’s eyes seemed to linger on him more than the movie. Weird.

As the movie drew on Wally slowly (for him at least) made his way through the candy stash. Hershey’s kisses, cinnamon hearts, those little foil wrapped chocolate hearts, Reese’s cups. Until finally, right around the time that the big battle started, he got to the conversation hearts.

They were his favourite, and not just for their good (read: cheesy) pickup lines. He oddly enough liked the texture and the taste.

Wally doesn’t know why he did what he did next. Couldn’t really say other than maybe it was the naturally teasing relationship he and Dick had, or his weird sense of humor, or maybe just because it was Valentine’s day. But hey, Wally was known to make bad decisions.

He picked out one of the little heart candies, one that said “kiss me” in soft pastel, and placed it on his tongue. The final scene where Riley and Mako embrace plays out on screen. He turned to Dick and stared at him for a moment, almost surprised but not really to find the other boy’s eyes already on him. Dick just looked at the heart on his tongue for a moment and raised his eyebrow. Wally wiggled his eyebrows in a jokingly suggestive way, and then popped his tongue back in his mouth.

And the next thing he knows, the room is dark as the credits starts to run and there’s lips on his own. His motion stutters for a moment. Dick was kissing him. He froze. Shit. A hot guy is kissing you. Kiss back now. So what if he’s your bro, kiss him.

His hands moved before his brain fully caught up, clutching Dick’s shoulder, and his lips move to reciprocate. He kisses back, a bit tentative, with thoughts of this is Dick I’m kissing floating around the back of his mind still. Dick didn’t hold back though, tongue on his lips, gently licking and nibbling until Wally opened up a bit. Dick’s tongue was in his mouth and it felt good. Why was he holding back before again?

Dick’s tongue moved against his for a few moments and all too soon it left his mouth and Dick pulled away, already back in his seat, leaving Wally to flounder for a moment. When Wally finally got his bearings back he looked over at Dick again, puzzled look on his face to silently say “dude what the fuck?”

Dick merely quirks his eyebrow up. Then sticks out his tongue. The conversation heart Wally had before sat there, a little smaller from how long it had been between their mouth, but there nonetheless. Wally’s throat suddenly felt a little dry again as Dick popped his tongue back in his mouth with a snicker and even in the dim light he could definitely see the pink that dusted along Dick’s nose this time. He could feel the heat in his own face.

Ok so maybe bros could kiss bros.

Shadowhunters Season 2, Episode 4 Review- Day of Wrath

Another week has gone by and another episode of Shadowhunters has been released. If you remember from last week I enjoyed the episode much more than the first two so here’s hoping the streak continues! Spoiler alert for those who haven’t seen the episode yet.

Things I Liked:

-  I probably said this during the first season reviews but I will say it again: the Silent Brothers are PERFECT!! Genuinely just really impressed with how they pulled that look off

- “Thank you for not dying on me” should really be the motto for this franchise AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT

- I love seeing Alec smile. He doesn’t do it enough. I love the shyness between Alec and Magnus like it’s a good representation of two people who clearly have feelings for each other and are trying to figure out how to act like it’s just too cute.

- “Or we can portal to Marrakesh” MAGNUS WHY YOU GOTTA KILL ME LIKE THIS NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO EXCITED FOR A FIRST DATE

- I know he isn’t saying it in an endearing way but I love that Alec calls Clary Fray and not Clary. One issue I always had in the books is that Alec and Isabelle seemed to basically warm up to Clary by the end of book one which is fine but like realistically that’s really fast. I like that in the show they’re taking time with Alec and Clary’s relationship.

- There is a reason I love Magnus taking care of Raphael. I don’t know how many of you have read the Bane Chronicles (if you haven’t I recommend it it’s like ten short stories about Magnus and it’s great) but one of the stories is about how Magnus and Raphael became “friends” and helped each other and I like seeing that hinted in here.

- @lindafellowminion you asked on my last review where Lydia was WELL HERE SHE IS! I like Lydia she wasn’t as prominent in the books I think she was Aline Penhallow’s love interest if I’m not mistaken so it’s nice to see her here with a more prominent place.

- REFERENCES TO THE INFERNAL DEVICES!! MAGNUS IN LONDON, BLACK FRIARS BRIDGE! OBSESSED!

- love the holy sword scene it’s a good scene (other than the incesty stuff)

- I will give Camille this: she brings up an incredibly important point about Magnus: he doesn’t do well with loneliness and I love that they’re addressing that

Things I Didn’t Like:

- Torturing Raphael. Not a fan. I mean Aldertree is crazy in the books anyway so it kinda fits but that’s just... not okay that made me icky.

-  In regard to Hodge in the City of Bones: ummmmm no. i recognize they’ve changed the Idris plot so we won’t be seeing him pretend to be Samuel talking to Simon in jail as he “atones for his sins” but I don’t think the Clave caught Hodge I think he turned himself in in the books idk it’s just weird seeing him interact with Jace again.

- What training makes Clary skilled enough to use a seraph blade. She doesn’t even hold the thing right until like book 3 and use it correctly until book 5. She’s been a shadowhunter for a month she shouldn’t know how to work this stuff ESPECIALLY because she’s learning it at a much older age. It’s like learning a new language you’re gonna suck for a while but Clary seems to have skipped that part and it just bothers me for whatever reason.

- K LET’S GET ONE THING CLEAR: MY MEMORY MIGHT BE SHAKY BUT I’M ALMOST CERTAIN DEMONS CAN’T ENTER THE INSTITUTE SO ONE COMING OUT OF A DEAD CORPSE IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE AND I DO NOT APPROVE. AND I’M SORRY NO CLOAKING ABILITY SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET PAST THE INSTITUTE JUST RIDICULOUS.

- this is more personal taste than anything but I don’t like how prominent they’re trying to make Camille. She’s really prominent in The Infernal Devices (or more memorable I guess) she doesn’t really show up in TMI until book 4 and I think book 5. Maybe a little in book 6 and that’s it. I don’t know she just doesn’t serve that much to the plot currently so not a fan.

- Incest questions ARE SO CREEPY I DONT LIKE IT

- Okay so the death of Jocelyn. I’m going to stay calm for this one even though I’d like to not be. Keep in mind I didn’t like Jocelyn but there are reasons I don’t like that they’ve killed her.

a) Clary is going to be forever scarred and we’re probably going to have endure an emo Clary/ super into killing demons Clary phase until she deals with her feelings

b) Alec is going to feel guilty/scarred and he feels enough of that already

c) this is going to screw up Clary and Alec’s relationship so not a fan

d) Poor Luke will be crushed

e) No Jocelyn/Luke wedding

f) Jocelyn will never get to say goodbye to her son now which was a really touching scene in the books

Nitpicks/Neutrals (figured this was a better name for the new category):

-  Okay, I want to preface this before I say anything else: I love Kat Mcnamara. I think she is a sweet girl and I love her as Clary. However, and I do not mean this is an insulting way I don’t really think this is her fault, her performance can be a little weak. Sometimes when she’s saying dialogue it just doesn’t feel real? Has anyone else felt this it’s not that often but there are times where I’m just like “ooooo that... could have been better/more powerful delivery” but seriously this isn’t too major it’s why it’s under nitpicks and not things I didn’t like

- interesting how in the books Clary is the one who’s all “we can’t have a future” but they switched it to Jace in the show. Nothing wrong with that just interesting- fits the way they’re going with the show

- Book fan coming out here: I will once again reiterate Jocelyn left the Clave. She can’t be “reassigned to Idris” she isn’t a shadowhunter anymore. There’s really no need to keep Jocelyn a shadowhunter it doesn’t add anything. 

- Luke wanting to go to Idris with Jocelyn. Luke hates Idris for multiple reasons: it’s where he got turned into a werewolf, where Valentine tried to kill him, his sister shunned him, not a great place he didn’t even really wanna stay long in the books so I don’t really think he’d just be like “OOO JOCELYN’S GOING LET ME PACK MY BAGS” it’s not the worst it’s just inconsistent

- did... did they change actresses for Camille? she looks different

In summary:

Another good episode. Were there problems? Yes. SOme problems are really gonna screw up dynamics among the characters but i’m just trying to go with the flow and not point out every little issue. The episodes are becoming a lot more enjoyable to watch which I think is great. I do think it’ll be interesting to see how Clary acts with Jocelyn gone because it really will be like the book where she’s on her own except her mom won’t be back. And Jace is back so I’m excited. All in all content, ready for more. Let me know what you think of the episode and I hope you come back and read next week’s review!
