Hi!! How you've been doing at work??

My question is: how do you come up with designs?? I love your designs a lot (whether it's from the DSMP lore, your own AU's, etc) and I was thinking maybe you have some tips for coming up with consistent designs?? Anyways good luck at work :D!!

Uuhhmm. Pinterest. I’ve spent hours scrolling through there and saving art for design inspo purposes. Then when I need something specific, I’ll go through the list and take little pieces of designs I like, and change them a bit to fit together in a new way. Well- in theory. These days, my designs are pretty simple, which is usually what you want when you plan on using said designs in quick succession, such as for comics. I learned that the hard way after giving an oc a full set of detailed armor and then having to redraw it 15 times for a fight scene. :’)

As for keeping things consistent; I remember where I was when I learned that a manga artist knows the exact number of visible hair spikes their character has. (Depending on the style) Take the time to decide these things. How long are the bangs compared to the ears or the eyes? If they have long eyelashes, then decide how many distinct lines will always be there. Make an expression sheet, stuff like that. For comics, I have a color guide that I bring into every new page.

Same goes for clothes. If they’re wearing boots, know how far it extends past the ankle, compared to the distance from the knee. Everything has a measurement that can be based around something else to keep things consistent.

The siren head dolls were those little dolls with a bunch of dialogues in them kids would play them a bunch but once the kids are left unsupervised with them the siren head doll will tell them to play games outside which essentially just tricks them to go and find the real siren head and then they get murdered which then leads to siren head recording the kids screams and voices which then it uses those voices to lure adults....

I would do better than this but this is the best i got ._.
