Someone liked one of my old death note DS game posts and I was wondering if L gets any items for t new years/new years eve. There are no special sweets but you do get this message.
Run through google translate:
“It's New Year's Eve. Let's welcome the new year with peace of mind.” (Raw Japanese text in alt text)
I did check if he says anything for January 1st by changing the date but nothing happens. If you have any translation notes or anything feel free to drop it in my ask box.
Happy new years!

So in the death note game “L the ProLouge to Death Note, Spiraling Trap” for Valentine’s Day you get a special sweet. It’s called “Valentine’s Chocolate” and here is what it looks like as well as its description.
Tumblr media
An anon told me that if you give this to L, he reacts differently based on if you play as Male or Female. So this is how he reacts if you play as female:

And if you play as male, this is how he reacts...

(Original Japanese text and other translation junk is under the cut)
2. いただきます。
3. バレンタインのチョコですか。これは私の想定外です。なぜなら、あなたは…
4. あなたのお気持ちは、しっかりいただきました。
4. あなたのお気持ちは、しっかりいただきました。
4. あなたのお気持ちは、しっかりいただきました。
(Playing as a male orginal text below)
1. いただきます。
2. バレンタインのチョコですかこれは私の想定外です。なぜなら、あなたは…
3. 男性ですよね……ともかくチョコはいただきました。
I took these photos on a DS lite I recently bought instead of a 3DS XL, so the photos should be higher quality now. Since it’s the native software and all..
Edit, about the translation of the 3rd screenshot: @/lawlietmrs explained the 3rd screenshot “what he’s saying there is a ‘law’ behind giving chocolates, this is in the context of ‘there is a reason/norm behind giving the chocolate, and how the chocolate you give him for Valentine’s Day is different than other chocolate!” (Other chocolate as in chocolate not given on Valentine’s Day)
If you have any questions my ask box and anonymous asks are always on :) thanks for reading
