💀 At first I had a more negative stance on Claudine from cry or better yet beg, I couldn’t see why some people liked her since even though she sees and treats Layla like a bug (although that one scene in the beginning where the elites are having fun and mocking the yellow bird made me hate them all especially since Matthias and Claudine know who this bird is referencing)

I saw a spoiler where Claudine AND Kyle witness their respective partners cheating on them at laylas house ….Uhhhmmm….. LITERALLY WHAT.

That made me rethink my whole opinion on her. While I cant see her a good person per say (she still treats Layla like a toy), she is definitely a noblewoman of her time and just trying to be happy with her position when she’s basically forced to be with this dude who uses his position as Duke to force his servant to sleep with him…. What is she supposed to do?? Also even though there is no love in their relationship it’s sad that there isn’t even respect. I think a lot of people are forgetting SHE IS LITERALLY HIS FIANCÉ she has a right to be annoyed that he is so enamored with Layla.

My posts relating to Claudine probably are not specific enough on this but I do agree that Claudine is definitely not a nice person. When I say she deserves better I mostly mean in writing and how she would be loved if she were the female lead.

Is she a good person? No, but to say she's worse than a rapist is just flat out wrong.

Taking away the classism, she has every right to be upset that she's being cheated on, even if she didn't want the Duchess title it wouldn't matter because women back then didn't have a say when they were married off. It's frankly disgusting that cry or better yet beg acts like it cares about class disparity when the male lead is abusing his power to force a commoner girl to sleep with him.

Cry or better yet beg is officially going to be an 18+ manhwa on webtoon, essentially meaning that minors will be blocked from reading it on webtoon.

While I still will not change my mind that the story is disgusting I will give it to the artist adapting the work, Van Ji, for making an effort to keep it away from vulnerable children and minors. What made COBYB truly awful was how webtoon was promoting it to minors when it's a plot that insists a rapist can be the perfect lover as long as he says sowwy.

Yes, raze Cry Or Better Yet Beg to the ground. I read the web novel. It is deplorable. I hate it. I hate that I gave it my time, even more so than TRE.

TRE may also have 🍇 in it BUT at the very least they arent romantizing it (sexual harassment is brushed under the rug though) and the fans aren't THAT brain dead. (Like when you actually explain for example that what Alan did to Rashta was SA or the whole Krista thing that I misunderstood a few months ago, they get it through their skulls in quick time that it's wrong.)

Talking to a cry or better yet beg stan who swears up and down that it isn't rape is like listening to a 12 year old Andrew Tate fan explain why Andrew actually does respect women. There is so much evidence proving otherwise right in front of their face but they still gaalight themselves into believing whatever they wanna see.

Thing is, I have been convinced to read the novel by some of those stans claiming it's better and I thought "okay, maybe it is meant to be a tragic story and the manhwa is the equivalent of the movie adaptation of Lolita" which no! It was not! The whole scene where Matthias SA'S Layla is even more graphic than it already was and I haven't even finished reading that garbage yet because of yonders stupid daily pass policy (might have to switch to something else at this rate)

Like sure, Kyle may not be the most perfect either but he's better than a rapist obsessed with emotionally torturing a child since she was 12.
