They were always eager to fold someone new into their dances, especially when their nunh C'kyho would be celebrating the birth of a new child soon.
And Ris joined with such enthusiasm, she earned the Honorary Kyho title immediately.
Even the twins were of one mind about it, something they rarely did. (Largely as a matter of principle. Just because they were twins didn't mean they were the same person!)
They did like her though!
{ Featuring @this-is-ris, who graciously let me borrow Ris to dance with a flock of Kyhos!}

C'ara & C'ava Kyho. Twins, but honestly, no one is happy about it, least of all the two of them.
#The Kyhos#Kyho Tribe#FFXIV#Screenshots#I'm just slowly trying to piece the entire damn tribe together because the people I RP with always end up RPing with multiple Kyhos!

Do your characters have any kind of interesting bodily anatomy? This CAN include things that are atypical for their species but also things like being double jointed, extra flexibility, birthmarks, etc.? If not, has there ever been a time where they have looked at people with these traits and wished they had them?
A higher-than-average number of Kyhos boast extreme flexibility, as well as being double jointed. (C'allie and Esti are both able to boast it, which leads a few members of the tribe to speculate that it's C'kyho's side of the family that carries the capabilities.) And for a couple of those Kyhos, the flexibility moves into the "this isn't exactly GOOD" territory.
Which the craftsmen amongst the Kyhos take as a challenge, making braces and splints that are comfortable to wear as well as attractive. Of course the Kyhos dress well, have you seen them?
Perhaps odd for a Seeker tribe is the lack of heterochromia. Not many members of the family have them, and it's considered lucky when a kit's eyes eventually change into two separate shades. C'allie, her father, and her great-grandam C'alli all have the same heterochromia--green and blue--which is just one more reason C'allie is her father's favorite.

ok but does the Kyho actually surf because I think a surfer clan is VERY fun!!
...well, now they do...
Not all of them do it well, however.
C'kyho's really just there to encourage his children. (And laugh his ass off when they eat sand.)
Neither C'allie nor C'ilo have surfed before, and so they had a few milliseconds before hitting the water to realize "good at many things" doesn't mean good at everything.
C'ivvi, on the other hand, took to it like a duck, not a desert catte.
Her twin sister C'elli opted to just sunbathe and watch with their father, but she found her siblings failure to balance on a stable board hilarious.

Joining a Seeker tribe certainly wasn't his initial goal when he struck out from home, but it's certainly served him well. So well that when he chose a name to represent his new life, he opted to take the Kyho surname.

C'ilo Tia, first in line to take up the role of nunh when his father decides to retire. C'allie's oldest brother has seen his fair share of action, but he's still very, very much a Kyho.

betrayal: Has your OC ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust? Has your OC ever betrayed someone who trusted them?
monster: Is your OC monstrous in any way? Is there something that makes them monstrous? Are they aware of their own monstrosity? Do they accept it or reject it?
For any :)
[REDACTED] sold four of the Kyho children to the Empire, shortly after C'kyho assumed his position as nunh. It took very little time for the family to a) realize the children were missing, b) notice who else was missing, c) get a posse together, and d) head out after their kits.
After losing one of the kits and two fighters in the struggle to get the children back, C'kyho packed up the tribe and moved them out of season to a different site. He then sent his eldest son after [REDACTED].
None of the Kyho tribe saw C'ilo for two years, as [REDACTED] recognized him on sight and betrayed him into an Imperial prison. C'ilo managed to escape, and for fifteen years, C'kyho paid time, effort, and gil to various merchants and mercenaries to hunt [REDACTED] down. He wouldn't send any of his family after them, not after nearly losing his eldest son.
Three years ago, C'allie brought a heavy jar to her father and opened it, pulling a head out of the preservative wine and oil filling the jar. He identified it as [REDACTED] and thanked his daughter with a tent fit for a princess. The name C'kyho struck from the family registry, the head burned, and the scorched skull now rests in a chest at the foot of C'kyho's bed.
It'd never occur to Summer to describe herself as monstrous, nor would she understand why someone called her that. After all, she's so much like the rest of her family! They're all so high-spirited and whimsical, ready to drop everything on a moment's notice just to play! They love to laugh, to be merry, to eat sweets and discover something new!
How could anyone ever describe her pixie relatives as monstrous? Or her? Every leafman in Il Mheg is so meticulously cared for! They know the names and stories of each one!
And if they let the fuath have the occasional ill-mannered visitor, what of it? The fuath need their fun, too. It isn't as if they don't contribute to Il Mheg, they're just as vital to the safety of the Dream as the nu mou or the pixies.
Only someone afraid of joy would call Summer and her family monstrous. Or someone with something to hide... Perhaps someone... with ill intent, hmm?
{Summer absolutely doesn't consider herself monstrous, but she has the same callous disregard for personal autonomy, property, space, and ... life that her pixie family does. She really can't be trusted.}

🖊 do a couple, so help me
C'kyho Nunh established a tradition for his tribe called 'a finishing tour' that involves sending the 'now of age' miqo'te out to travel through the main three city-states. He undertook this 'tour' himself as a very young man and met C'allie's mother, his first mate C'anmho, in Gridania.
The 'finishing tour' is considered something of a final coming of age for the young Kyhos as they're provided a small allowance to fund their trip, but must either rely on scattered relatives or their own wits if they overspend that allowance. It's also considered a first chance to meet a mate--one does need outside blood, after all--or to make a final decision on a profession. Quite a few young Kyhos initially settle away from the tribal territory, sowing their 'wild oats' away from the watchful eyes of the tribal elders.
And the majority of them inevitably drift back home, bringing new skills, ideas, technologies, and even mates back to enrich the tribe's culture.
Chance Brooks doesn't know what life is like outside of academia. Her parents, natives of Old Sharlayan, both worked in the Studium as instructors from long before her birth. (She is, in fact, something of a 'change of life' baby, surprising the hells out of her adventurous archeologist mother by being born on a dig near the ruins of Sil'dih.) And Chance grew up being babysat by grad students, running through the massive library under the watchful eye of a mammet or two, accompanying her parents on lecture tours and developing quite the taste for knowledge early on.
She disappointed both parents by opting for studies in botany and agriculture--her father is a professor of applied mathematics--rather than the fields they'd already established the Brooks name within. Chance not only wanted to establish herself under her own abilities, but also just... loves digging around in the dirt.
It turned out to be an especially significant field when she became a graduate student and learned of the Forum's collaboration with their "colleagues on the moon." Suddenly, Chance's field of study--specializing in altering acidity levels and nutrient content of soil to improve crop growth--had entirely new levels of importance.
She's not unhappy that the "Plan" isn't needed--who would be unhappy that the world isn't ending???--but... Well, she did get several grants when the situation was edging towards dire... And she did get an office all her own when some of her experiments in soil manipulation proved useful.
It does kind of suck that now she's relegated to testing soil samples from Garlemald to look for hearty bacteria in extreme temperatures.

👎 = Is there anyone in your muse’s family they dislike, why?
As big of a problem as Esti's mother is, C'kyho is the one that Esti can't forgive.
He won't simply back away and let contact between them fall to the bare minimum. He banks on his brother-in-law, Arban, to keep Esti returning to the Kyho lands to visit and comes to Sharlayan when his duties allow him the chance.
And he keeps... trying to be a father to Esti.
Which is about twenty or so years too late.
Ellia--or C'ellia as she insists on calling herself--wasn't one of his mates and when she came to C'kyho and told him she bore his child, he couldn't convince his mates to accept her into the family. And so he acknowledged the baby as his, provided a place for Ellia at the edge of the camp, and did... nothing else.
Occasional visits. Dutiful checks. No actual parenting beyond introducing Esti to the herd of children that ran rampant through the Kyho camp and allowing her the name C'esti Kyho. He acknowledged her, but never fathered her.
And now that he keeps insisting on trying while still proudly calling Zale his son-in-law...
Esti would just as soon never see any Kyho again, even her uncle Arban, if it meant she could just live in peace and let her complicated parental connections fade.

👎 = Is there anyone in your muse’s family they dislike, why?
The ever-changing interpersonal politics of the Kyho tribe could take...numerous volumes to track. With so, so many members of a single, massively extended family, there's always someone new to have a spat with.
C'allie and her older half-sister C'ava have... a very long-standing feud. Mainly because C'ava is an insufferable bitch who shows the bare minimum respect for C'kyho. And as C'allie is her father's favorite child, well... She doesn't take her sister blowing their father off very well.
And despite the fact that they share Thrav, C'allie's husband, as a mate--indeed, C'ava's born him a son--they still just... do not get along. C'allie always sides with C'ava's twin sister, C'ara, in family arguments and they've gotten into physical fights on numerous occasions.
C'ava, for her part, finds C'allie's gilded path through life to be an offense against nature. She can't understand how her younger half-sister gets away with everything and suffers no consequences at all. Having made numerous missteps in her life, C'ava is of the mind that everyone should suffer the way she has.
C'allie not only doesn't, but she seems to go out of her way to just... not suffer. And then comes to the Kyho camp with spouse after spouse in tow, showing off wonderful relationships and beautiful children...! It's downright infuriating to C'ava.
And her twin sister C'ara is no help, always thanking C'allie for her help, taking care of their shared mate Thrav, tending the children that he's sired. One day, C'ava plans to get back at C'allie for her charmed life somehow.
She's just not sure it won't blow up in her face, the way everything else seems to do.

👩👧👧 = Does your muse have any siblings? Do they wish they had more/any?
Once C'allie calmed down from laughing herself right off the planter's edge, she wiped her eyes and resumed her perch on the sun-warmed stone.
"I mean I probably got at least one more on the way 'cause Dad sure as fuck never keeps it in his pants. Not that I blame him, my mom's hot as fuck. Okay all of us are, it's a Kyho thing. But last count, I've got twenty full blood or half blood siblings. Might be twenty-one now, I don't know if Momma Veli really is knocked up again or just gettin' old."
Her ears flattened a fraction. "Don't tell her I said that, I hate it when she twists my ear."
{C'allie is C'kyho's ninth child, out of twenty. She has... a lot of siblings and really, if she has any more, even C'allie might need a notepad to keep track of them.}
