Was Krypto Jor-El's dog? Or did their family have another pet?
Because think about it. Thanks to Cujo, we KNOW animals with unfinished business or strong attachments stay behind. We ALSO know from nigh COUNTLESS videos on the internet that pets get REALLY attached to pregnant moms and by extention, the new pack members.
Krpton was an Alien planet. Just because SOME of the animals there looked similar to earth animals, doesn't mean ALL of them do. Nor does it mean they ONLY domesticated dog like creatures or cat like creatures. They could have anything from vaguely bear-like to fox-ish to small moose but with more teeth.
It was a completely different ecology.
And Jor-El? Him and his wife had a CHOICE to make. They had A pod. Singular. Tiny. Not a ship, not an escape pod, not even a refurbished shipping container. Just a pod with life support and all the information about Krypton they could fit. A guidance system that, gods willing, would see their son to a safe and sympathetic planet to be raised by kind people.
THEY couldn't even fit.
How in the gods name would a large pet? Even a mid sized pet. Let us assume, for this prompt, that being scientists of high position? Pays or allocates pretty well. They have the room. The resources. When they got married, Jor-El's wife REALLY wanted a cub or pup or what have you, of some large-ish animal breed.
The equivalent of an earth mastiff dog. Just an Absolute UNIT. Used to be gaurds and working beasts, now more athletic pets then anything. Known to be great protecters of Their People.
And well... Jor-El WAS already starting to notice some things that were making him Less Than Popular... probably nothing (he had naively hoped, at the time.) But better to have a Just In Case. Sure, honey. Let's get one!
And they LOVED Snookums.
Snookums ADORED them AND the baby! Kal-El basically NEVER left Snookums sight. He slept beneath Kal's crib. Followed them everywhere they went, when they were holding Kal. Planted himself like Kal's Sworn Protector as the baby drooled all over his fur. It was the cutest thing EVER.
But then?
No. Dear Gods No. Please... Please let him be wrong!
He's not. He never is. He is too careful with his calculations. To the point of near paranoia. Maybe they can stop it. If they DO something. Act IMMEDIATELY...
But...
Well, we all now how that story ends. Two people, standing on a launch pad, tears streaming down their smiling faces, trying to memorize the last moment they'll ever see their son. Praying this will be ENOUGH.
That they aren't trading one terrible death for another.
Watching their son disappear into the sky. Flying home as the ground groan as shakes, trees toppling and people screaming. Panicking. Dying pointless deaths that could have been stopped.
Walking into the home that should have been where they spent their whole live. Where, in a way, they WILL.
Knowing they won't grow old.
Sitting on the floor with their confused, frantic, pet as fire starts to light up the horizon. As the ground shakes violently on last, terrible time. Knowing the lethal heat will hit them before their ears ever register the sound.
It's Over.
But! Where is Snookum's Baby Kal!?
They are scared, confused, and everything is LOUD AND RUMBLY. Very Bad. Don't like that. Their ADULTS come back home. BUT NOT THEIR BABY. Where is Baby Kal?! Snookums is a GOOD Boy and a GREAT Protector. It is in his blood.
Something BAD is happening.
Has? Happened?
Everything is GREEN.
But that does not MATTER. Snookums can not REST. Can not stay here! They must Sniff and search and hunt! Look for Kal! Who is SMALL and needs to be protected! What if he is HURT? How will he SLEEP!? With no Snookums to cuddle for nap time!?
But the universe is large. And there is no smell in space. (Well, there ARE. But they are Stinky Gasses and those do not help Snookums.) So it takes lots and lots of time. Until! He meets a glowing blue dog!
A hopeful corgi? What is a corgi? Irrelevant! The hopeful one knows of Snookums' Kal! Oh, thank you small friend! You indeed DO give hope! We shall go at once and Kal shall be safe and with family once more!
Meanwhile? Danny? Wakes up to a sticky note on his forehead from Clockwork. "Bring Cujo with you to meet the Justic League"? What? WHY? He loves the pup, but Cujo has never behaved himself in a formal setting ONCE in his doggy LIFE. Danny is trying to make a good first impression!
But... Clockwork doesn't Post-It lightly...
Guess he's breaking out the doggy bow ties. Great. Wonder what THIS is about...
Four and a half hours later? Watching Cujo playfully wrestle with the ghost of what HAS to be a Kryptonian... gonna saaaaay.... Bear-fox? Which nearly TACKLED Superman, freaked the ENTIRE Justice League out, and nearly got him STABBED by Etrigon. Yeah. That was a good call.
Congratulations on your new ghost pet, Superman. No, he's not leaving. It just kinda happens sometimes. It's how Danny got Cujo. Wanna do pet playdates?

I need more of this, like yesterday. There are not enough ace the bathound stories.
Ideas:
Cujo (and danny) helps Ace master his ghost abilities. Ace teaches cujo (and danny) a bit of discipline (as much as a highly intelligent dog is able to teach a human, cujo at least measurably improves with obedience.)
I kind of want ace to have portal powers. Both cujo and wulf have portal powers, which is already two for two on canine similarities, and it kind of meshes with how dogs are treated by multiple cultures as ferries for the dead.
Also, instead of growing in size like cujo, he should turn into a massive eldritch shadow with teeth. His portal power can work like signal's shadow portals, but interdimensional.
When the bats finally meet up with phantom and bathound, damian has to revise his opinion somewhat. Danny DOES have dedicated training equipment and routines, and he knows about how to train ghost powers enough to have helped ace master his in the few days / week he was with danny. Danny proves to be a master at ghost powers, his weakness is lack of martial discipline and focus, which is why cujo is not always obedient. And danny has been visibly working on that too. (He also tends to jump in without planning ahead, but when he does plan, he's pretty good at strategy.) (Basically, danny is doing exceptionally well for someone who was thrown into the vigilante life head first and had to teach himself everything he knows.)
When danny basically confirms that ghost dogs can understand modern english and complex directions, its just about a dream come true for damian. He had been trying to convince the others that ace was smarter than a dog should be before he had gotten dognapped.
I want pictures of cujo and ace to go viral. GIW shut down for unethical experimentation? No, sweetheart, its because they attacked this dog, right here. Just look at this picture! Arent they just precious? Just two little puppers, so innocent. Shame on the GIW. Dont they know theres no such thing as a bad dog? And it wasnt even just any old dog! That's batman's dog! Gotham's favorite dog. Everyone knows that he's the goodest boy! (Get wrecked, krypto.)
Speaking of krypto, is he still alive? Like kryptonians live longer than earthlings, so he's still kicking around, right? Well, now that Ace has ghost powers, he's on a more even playing field with krypto. They can actually roughhouse now. Cujo is invited, too.
The tags mentioned good fenton parents. If that's the case, then cujo has become a family pet. It would be kind of hilarious if they changed their opinion on ghosts after discovering phantom playing fetch with and training cujo. They adopt ace too for the week or so that danny has him, and when the bats show up for their dog, the fentons give them all the gear, info and ecto they'll need to keep a happy, healthy ghost pet.
Damian wants more ghost pets. They give him a small herd of ghost blobs, and bruce only relents when danny explains that they're filter feeders and his family definitely needs them. Ace can only filter so much. Damian also tries to sneak out an ectopus and a three-eyed raven.
The dogs allow the fentons and the waynes portal back and forth to keep in contact with each other.
Ace the bat hound becomes a ghost dog because he's such a good boy and dedicated to justice. Inspired off of this post here.
But, instead of being found out by Danny, it's the batfam's usual mystic contacts, like Constantine, that discover and reunite Ace and the Bats. Constantine muttering about how annoyingly resilient the particular brand of ghost is. From the infinite realms, Ghosts from there are a headache and a half to get rid of but portals, information, and really anything about it is far and few between since no one's been able to get into contact since some fight a couple centuries ago (Dark being sealed away). Justice Leauge Dark promises to let the family know if they hear anything or find any relevant information about the Infinite Realms, but since literally nothing has been heard from them in so long, no one really knows anything off the top of their head about it.
While Ace is technically supposed to be hidden away at home, he ends up sneaking along one day to help deal with Joker after the clown kidnaps Nightwing and/or Robin (Damian). The photos and videos of the event are blurry and smudged, but word of mouth gets around, and soon, the entirety of Gotham is celebrating the return of Bat Hound the Ghost, the very good boy back from the grave.
Meanwhile, things are going great for the family, just having Ace back makes everyone feel just a bit better (because Ace is a full ghost with a core and is helping to filter the currupt ectoplasm called Lazarus Water with physical touch). Jason is over more often and enjoys flopping on the couch with Ace for a quick snooze, Dick is over the moon to fight with Ace by his side again, Damian makes sure Ace is properly introduced to the rest of the animals that live at the mansion, Tim actually falls asleep semi-regularly now after Ace starts bothering him about being awake, and everyone else is reaping the benefits of having a bat trained dog that seems to be able to sniff out when they need a dog to pet.
Then these guys in white show up.
Ace had seemingly been on edge all night and when it was time to turn in for the night and let Signal come out for the day, Ace follows along, not listening to any command to stay home. Some of the others stay ready in the cave but they let Signal and Ace go out with the promise to call the moment something big happens.
Now, up until then, Ace's powers had been tallied up to: intangibility, invisibility, and occasional hovering/heightened jump. Every other exercise responded out as normal dog (except for the whole being dead thing). Maybe slightly higher emotional intelligence, but some dogs are just Like That. Through some tests, they do find that Ace has a new found hatred of Lazarus Water, but they don't find any obvious weakness that isn't a banishment spell which is as worrying as it is a relief.
So when these white suits start shooting using guns that glow the same green as Ace in Signals' vision and the shoots hit? Ace yelps in pain before seemingly barking out some kind of energy ball? And barreling into a wall so hard it cracked from another shot? Every single alarm that Signal can think to trip gets set off.
But not before one of the suits (one of the many suits, they're terrible fighters but there's just so many of them and two of them) takes out something that looks like a thermos and points it at Ace.
Within a second, Ace is gone.
Signal is so shocked he almost gets hit himself by the dozens of shots of energy blasts now aimed at him. He can't get to the white van in time before it speeds off.
----
I'm going to end this part here. I'm going to continue this in the reblogs but I also want people to take a crack at this story themselves! If you're inspired by this please put your thoughts or stories in the reblogs or tags!

Honestly I was thinking “God I wish that were me” watching Lady Dimitrescu lick the blood from generic horror everyman #10000s palm but if you want to make it SC related have fun with that king
Lena presses her face into Kara’s palm, but her lips only ghost the edge of the cut, touching but not yet tasting. She inhales first, eyes fluttering shut as she savours the scent, and Kara finds herself biting her lip, shifting impatiently as she waits for Lena’s reaction – a smile, a nod of approval, her desire to please feeling as grotesque as it is immense.
Lena sighs.
“You smell divine,” she murmurs, and Kara trembles, dizzied. She doesn’t even try to bite back the hoarse moan that rises to her lips, and only hopes that the litany of please please please in her mind does not follow.
It doesn’t really matter.
“I’ve never had Kryptonian before,” Lena muses, glancing up at Kara through half-lidded eyes, her gaze entirely too innocent for that lazy, triumphant smirk that’s playing on her lips, letting her fangs peek through. Kara thinks she might actually pass out before she could let the vampire sink them into her.
“You can have all of me.”
The words come out half-grunted, shamelessly needy. Lena seems to beam with delight.
“Is that so?” she drawls, one hand slowly wrapping around Kara’s wrist with an firm grip. There’s a glint of something savage in her eyes. “Hold still then, pet.”

Rainy Day, No TTK (Supercorp + Superboy AU Short Comic)
This idea spawned from rereading the 1998 Young Justice comics and falling back in love with everything in it. I love the little details of Kon’s little mundane uses of Tactile Telekinesis. In the beginning of issue 19, the team crashes when it's raining and everyone else is soaking wet besides Greta, who is a ghost, and Kon, who is using his TTK to prevent getting himself and his beautiful hair all wet. It is such a small little detail that is so enjoyable because that totally is something he would end up finding out he could do with his projected forcefield. (I’ll put some in canon examples below)
I liked the idea of young Kon finding out he can do this with TTK and Lena and Kara both weren't prepared for some of the more creative uses of his non Kryptonian based ability. Kara was prepared to help with the Kryptonian abilities but TTK is definitely a surprise package of an ability. He’s still a bit oblivious to how they need to go about using their powers and where and when its appropriate. I really wanted to draw Kara and Lena being adorable and endearing young parents trying to navigate how to raise this half alien kid with a big personality and too much sass to go around (which he will gradually grow into over time after he gets used to living with them).
Kara has been a great help with teaching Kon how to handle small things with super strength and now that he can do so without hurting anything, the boy can’t stop trying to pet or hold almost every animal he sees. The world is just so new to him and he’s seeing every animal for the first time. Kara probably remembers being young and still gripping with not being able to go back to Krypton but the wildlife of earth was so new to her she probably appreciated it or at least found it fascinating. Especially if things got to overwhelming she could find somewhere away from people like in a forest to collect herself.
Kon is pretty good at keeping to the rules of not using his powers in public but he couldn’t help it when he saw a kitten in the rain. He had to use TTK to shield it so it didn’t get any colder.
[Info on this Supercorp + Kon-El/Superboy AU]
Here's a colored drawing so you can appreciate young Kon’s ducky raincoat in its full glory:
Clark, having a mental breakdown about this artificially made-by-Lex pseudo-clone-son (Clark’s mentality in the beginning of my AU): “We just don’t know how dangerous he could be. We don't know if we can have him around humans, especially my family.”
Lena, deadpanned and painfully sarcastic: “Yeah. Because nothing says dangerous bio weapon made for nefarious purposes like a child in a ducky raincoat and frog rain boots.”
Some examples of Kon-El using TTK as an invisible makeshift full-body umbrella (I miss this dork so much). I can’t get over how much personality you can tell this kid has from his body posture alone. This little trouble maker totally deserves parents and a home!!! I will die on this hill.

Chapter 1 3
Chapter 2
Word count : 2.4 k
From time to time their hangouts on Fridays become less frequent. Tim had already made meeting with Jason -a regular civilian- hard enough with his lifestyle. Back then, Jason would always seek Tim, just taking him out of that busyness for a chill night out. Or just because he misses Tim, and wanted to see his face.
Jason doesn’t do that anymore.
They used to meet once a week, that turned into once in a while, and it’s been two months since Jason saw him last. They would still text regularly though, because even though it’s hard to meet Tim face to face, Jason never wanted to cut Tim off, never. So texting and calling it is, and it’s so much easier than seeing the person physically.
Jason loves when Tim sends him pet pictures. Tim would send a picture Titus the great dane snuggling with Alfred the cat, and it was the cutest sight he’s ever seen.
Sometimes he would check on Tim, asking if things are well. They would call and chat about petty things at work or things they’re mildly annoyed with. Or sometimes just banter about politics. None of them know how they got into that, but they did.
Jason would ramble about novels and Tim about a newfound manga. Talking and chatting like that is easier than meeting Tim, but it gets less and less easy for Jason.
Sometimes their call will be interrupted by someone. Sometimes Tim sends a couple of pictures with Superboy. Sometimes Tim didn’t reply for a month because of a mission, and Jason can’t do anything but to pray to the void and the universe that he’s alive at least.
He hated those days without hearing from Tim. There are times that his hands will start to shake whenever he was reminded that he hadn’t heard about Tim. His mind just whirls into the worst possibility ever and it’s swirling down too fast for Jason to stop.
It gets dangerous when he would drop heavy things in the middle of work. A car engine, a box of tools, his phone, and as a bonus, sometimes they land on his feet. Or when he sees bad news from a villain on TV, the world would spin a little and it’s harder to breathe.
He wanted to check up. He just wanted to walk to Wayne manor and demanded to know where he is.
To calm himself, he reminds himself that Tim has superheroes friends on his side. A Kryptonian as a soulmate too. Tim will be fine.
But sometimes those train of thoughts backfires.
They really have grown up after all. Jason promised himself that he’ll never let Tim grows away from him, but knowing the path he takes, and the soul mark on his body, some things are inevitable. Even so, Tim will be fine. With or without him.
As ridiculous as it sounds, Jason is anxious because there’s nothing to be anxious about.
“Jason!”
The ground is so close to his face. When did he get down on his knees? No, not on his knees anymore, he’s sitting on the side of his hips. He sees his open hands on the grease-stained ground, and they started to double into four.
“Breathe, Jason. Come on, follow my lead.” It’s Mrs. Knope’s voice. Feeling her hand rubbing soothing circles on his back and following her commands to inhale and exhale.
Jason is getting his composure back, enough to look back to the TV hanged on the wall.
A swarm of robots attack in central Gotham. Red Robin is the first to respond. Tim’s bleeding, thrown to the ground, but he keeps getting back up. Jason wanted to run there, to help, to do something.
His friends came in. Superboy carries Red Robin away.
And Jason sighs at ease.
Tim is safe.
Tim will be fine.

++++++++
It struck like a bad feeling. Like a ghost going through your body, sending chills down your spine that can only mean nothing but bad. He’s started shaking like a scared rabbit. The ground under his feet feels like moving like a boat through a storm, he lost strength in his grip and his legs.
He lands himself on the side of the car he was working on, leaning there until he gets his ground again. From far away he can see Mrs. Knope coming over to him.
“Jason, it’s okay,” she turned the TV off, knowing it’s one of Jason’s trigger.
It’s not. Not this time, and the reason is something Jason couldn’t explain. He holds on to her, and regain his breath like the practice she taught him.
“Mrs... Mrs. Knope,” Jason said after finally catching his breath, “I have to go, right now, I’ll work on weekends in return.” Then Jason takes off without looking back.
“What- oh you better!” she scolded before she’s out of Jason’s hearing range.
Running aimlessly, Jason found himself in the depth of Crime alley, trying to look for Tim there and it is as crazy as that sounds, but his mind is awry from rational thoughts to think any differently. So, there he goes running like he’s a scared tourist. Then, after regaining some of his sanity, he calls and texts Tim even though his chat from two months ago hasn’t been read yet. Unsurprisingly, Tim didn’t pick up.
Bearing no fruit from running around, the only reasonable place he can look for Tim is the Wayne manor.
He has absolutely zero fucks at the moment that it’ll make Batman know that Jason knew about their identities. That’s a problem he’ll deal with after he calms his sudden anxiousness. It sounds like a petty reason but currently, Jason feels like dying.
There’s no public transport to the rich residential area, but there’s a stop near there so he takes it. Annoying the people on the bus with the tapping of his foot. He calms himself, thinking about good things, positive things. That maybe he’s just imagining things, that Tim is fine and maybe on a prolonged mission, and he’s making a fool of himself.
That must be it. He just needs to know that Tim is fine, even though going to his home is stalker-ish, it’s just something Jason needs to do. His embarrassment will have to wait.
Jason runs there as soon as the bus’ door open, powered with adrenaline and anxiousness. Soon, Wayne Manor came into view, and he spams the bell by the gate until someone finally speaks from the speaker in a British accent.
“Wayne Manor, state your business.”
“I need to see Tim,” Jason demanded.
“I’m sorry sir, but Master Timothy is still at work.” Oh, that’s good, now he just needs to go there.
“Where? Tell me the adress.”
“And what is your business with Master Timothy?”
“I just need to see him, he’s not returning my calls and texts the past two months. So, just tell me where he is!” Jason is getting impatient.
“Pardon me, but I don’t like your threatening tone, please contact Master Timothy himself if you’d like to meet.”
“No! Mr. Pennyworth I’m sorry just listen to me,” Jason called his name, and the static noise means the butler hasn’t disconnected yet.
Jason felt like his breathing is getting hard, but, oh god, not now...
“I need to see him,” Jason’s breath is getting shallower, he doesn’t want to do this, but Pennyworth is stalling, deflecting, now Jason knows something is wrong. “I know you know who I am, and I know...” Jason gulps, “I know.”
There’s a pause from the other end, and the gates open.
“Please come in Mr. Todd.” The speakers say before it’s off.
Jason runs through the pathway to the grand 4-meter tall door. A butler opens it before Jason has a chance to knock. Face stoic and head high. A balding drey hair, matching thick mustache, judging eyes and dressed in a pristine black suit and white shirt. The old butler moves away from the door and gestured Jason to come in.
The room inside is warm and cozy, but so big that it feels uneasy for Jason that used to tight spaces. Carpeted floor, a high ceiling with a chandelier in the middle of it and a massive family portrait at the end of the wall. Tim is in it, along with Bruce Wayne, the first adopted son Richard Grayson, the second adopted daughter Stephanie Brown, and the blood son Damian Wayne.
“Master Tim had gone off-grid for an hour,” Pennyworth informed, “The others are trying to find him at this moment, we could wait together if you’d like, to calm yourself from having an attack.” The butler eyes him knowingly, eyes fond and understanding.
Jason grits his teeth, impatient, “No, where is the last point he’s offline.”
“If you have any intentions to find him, I’m afraid I can’t tell you.”
“You have to,” Jason stares down at the butler with fist clenched, “Depends on the area, he may not make it.”
“I assumed you knew about Master Timothy’s capabilities, I guess I assume wrong.” The butler shows his deprecating face towards Jason, and he’s not having that.
“Oh I know Tim can kick-ass, but I know these people even more, and their reputation underground. You don’t know how deep those villains connection runs. The people down there will do anything, only for a few bucks, or just something to eat. And you bet they would kill and conspire, and they won't care who they kill.”
Then, the butler’s expression is finally something else than calm stoic, but he stays silent.
“You don’t need to tell me anything else, just what his alias is, and the last time he’s visible. Please,” Jason begged, and it’s hard to control the croak threatening at the back of his throat.
“He’s last seen on Fulton street,” that’s near Crime alley, “his alias is Cal Corcoran.”
Jason sighs a relieved breath, “Thank you, and one more thing, don’t tell them that I’m looking for Tim.”
“Why is that.”
“Because he won't like my way, and I don’t want him to hold me back.”
Pennyworth’s face twisted in regret, but before the butler can say anything. Jason holds his arm in a firm grasp, eyes sharp the other’s pair of old wise eyes.
“I know you don’t trust me, but you have to believe in me. I’ll find him.” He’s filled with unshakable tenacity, newfound courage and an absolute determination to do anything. “Even with my life on the line.”
Pennyworth doesn’t move even a muscle on his face, then he holds the hand on his arm.
“Please bring him home,” the butler finally says.
Jason nods gratefully and runs towards the city. He knows exactly who to see first.
++++++
Jason had never been back here for years. When he left, he never looks back. How many years has it been? Yet everything is still the same. Still so easy to pick the door open. The room still smells foul, and the furniture is just as old and scarce.
An old man sprawled the couch, a beer on his hand and the tactical gear on his body means that he just returned from ‘work. He looks even older as if that’s even possible compared the state Jason last seen him.
“What are you doing here,” his dad slurred in his speech, not even bothered to stand up.
“You are going to tell me the list of your friends and where I can meet them.”
“And why do you think I would tell you?” He smirks, and he laughs, like a drunk. Then he throws the bottle of beer, aiming for Jason’s head, which he gives credit to his dad it was pretty close.
But he avoids it with ease, and the bottle breaks on the wall behind him.
“Get out! Get the fuck outta--” His dad finally shuts up, thanks to Jason’s knife against his throat.
His dad twists his face in outrage, “You don’t have the balls to--” Jason takes the knife away, leaving a red mark on the neck, and sink that knife on his dad’s right hand and through his thigh when Jason sees it grabbing into something in his pocket. The man only screamed for a millisecond before Jason shoved a bundle of cloth on his old man’s screaming mouth.
There are tears rolling down his sunken eyes. Jason never saw him cry before, not even when his mom died.
Jason left the knife there, and pulls another one and place it on a red line on his neck. His dad twitch away, he tried to, but Jason’s knife presses his neck hard against the couch. There’s no compassion left in him for his dad, not ever fear or guilt when looking at the man’s terrified and pained face.
“I will and can kill you if you’re not useful. I can get the names from anyone else, but I figure... You’d like a chance to do your son at least one favor, wouldn’t you?” Jason doesn’t frown, doesn’t show any expression. He doesn’t want to grace his dad with any expression. The knife sinks into the think fled on his neck, and Jason mercilessly drags it towards his Adam's apple like cutting a cake, leaving a trail of red that leaks blood.
“Wouldn’t you?” Jason says more firmly, pressing the knife even deeper.
His dad is shaking, eye blown wide in terror, and finally nods.
“Good, and along with the names, I’m going to need your guns and stash of drugs.”

Just Past The Finish Line Chapter 3-Finale + Legends
Barry has a couple other people he has to say good-bye to and the Speed Force thankfully allows it.
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
“Where is Barry?” Oliver demanded as he and Felicity stormed into STAR lab, before his heart sank when he sensed the sadness and tension in the cortex.
“What happened?” Felicity hurried to where Cisco was slumped over his desk. She rubbed his shoulders when she noticed them shaking minutely.
“We saw Barry, he saved us on Lian Yu but the way he talked and then disappeared into a breach…” Felicity spoke softly, wincing when Iris let out a half gasp, half sob as Wally gathered her into his arms looking pained.
“He’s gone.” Cisco whispered.
“What do you mean Cisco? He’s Barry, how can he be gone?” Felicity asked, heartbreak seeping into her voice while Oliver felt the need to slump against the nearby wall.
“Whoa! That’s a rush.” A female voice called out as a breach opened up in the middle of the cortex and Kara Danvers in her Supergirl outfit landed on the ground.
“Supergirl.” Cisco breathed out before his face fell when he spotted the desperate look on Kara’s face as she looked around.
“You’re here about Barry too aren’t you?”
“He was acting really weird when he visited me, like really weird.” Kara waved her hands as she spoke. “Then he just disappeared into a breach and said something about a finish line?”
“He mentioned a finish line to us as well.” Oliver spoke quietly.
Iris let out a loud sob and fled from the room, her engagement ring flashing in the light of the cortex, Wally gave a pained look at the others before hurrying after her.
“A lot happened, you guys know about Savitar right?” Cisco spoke quietly, wrapping his comfortable warm sweater tighter around himself.
“Evil unknown speedster from the future, yeah.” Felicity nodded and Kara hummed her agreement.
“Turns out Savitar was actually a time remnant of Barry, future Barry. His face was so burned and he wanted to become a God, he did all of this to get power.” Cisco started to wring his fingers together as he spoke, not making eye contact at all.
“Oh my god.” Kara’s hands flew to her mouth while Oliver paled and Felicity sank into a nearby chair in shock.
“He came back with a mission to kill Iris, we trapped him in the speed force. In the future we created a sort of jail cell in the speed force to keep him trapped, but he escaped and trapped Wally there instead… To get Wally out, Jay Garrick from Earth 2 took his place. We tried so hard to change the future, so hard… But it wasn’t enough.” Cisco explained quietly, but the cortex was so loud his words were extremely loud.
“What happened?” Felicity whispered, rubbing Cisco’s shoulders sensing he needed comfort.
“It all kind of merged together from then on, Caitlin almost died and she fully became Killer Frost, she joined Savitar and almost killed me. We tried everything, including erasing Barry’s memory which admittedly didn’t go as planned… In the end Savitar still killed Iris… But it wasn’t Iris… It was HR using some of his tech from his Earth… He died in Barry’s arms and Savitar kidnapped me, forcing me to refit a bazooka that we had built to trap him in the first place…I did change it, but instead it freed Jay and all our Speedster’s teamed up and in the end Iris got the last shot with Savitar, literally in this case.” Cisco rambled on, fiddling with his fingers feeling the heat of their eyes on him and he sank deeper into himself.
“Oh Cisco.” Felicity drew Cisco into a tight hug, petting his hair in the most soothing way she could.
“Everything was going so well, relatively speaking at least. Killer Frost and Caitlin are still duking it out for control and HR is gone, but Harry and Jay are back… However the speed force jail… It needed a Speedster to keep it balanced… Central was hit with earthquakes and lightning, it was going to destroy everything and Central would have just been the start… Barry, he understood, he accepted it. He willingly went with the Speed force to live in his worst memories for eternity, he did this for us.” Cisco couldn’t help the tears that silently fell from his eyes, sliding down his cheeks and he couldn’t speak anymore so he buried his face into Felicity’s blonde hair. Felicity’s eye makeup was running down her cheeks, mingling with her tears as she joined Cisco in his mourning.
“Oh Barry, no, no, no.” Kara sank to the floor, her cape pooling around her as she buried her face into her hands as her body shook with sobs as it sank in that she had lost two of the most important men in her life within days of each other.
Oliver grit his teeth together and tightened his hands into fists from where he had crossed his arms tightly over his chest. He felt like he was going to throw up, he closed his eyes as he tried to breath evenly.
“What can we do?” Kara asked looking up at Oliver, her eyes full of tears and the Green Arrow looked back. He stepped so he was kneeling in front of the Kryptonian he held his hand out. Kara swallowed as she grasped his offered hand allowing Oliver to pull her to her feet.
“We will be strong, we will remember him and let his legacy live on. We will watch over his city and his loved ones and we will help train Wally and anyone else who wants to help carry on Barry’s mission.” Oliver said, voice strong and firm and it filled Kara with confidence and hope, she now understood why Barry always gushed about Oliver Queen and how he was his hero.
“You’re right, we will carry on his memory and his legacy.” Kara agreed and she will always treasure the time they spent together and their duet in that weird musical world they had been zapped into.
“Damn right.” Felicity sniffed from her place still embracing Cisco. “Team Flash and Team Arrow and err Team DEO? Will make sure Central is protected and everyone here get’s the support they deserve.”
“Thank you, thank you. I promise Barry I would keep everyone together and in one piece and I really need all the help I can get.” Cisco wiped his eyes before he glanced at where his glasses were laying in wait.
“And you will get it.” Oliver swore and Cisco gave a smile, the first genuine one he had given in a while.
~~Time jump~~
“Glad you guys could make it.” Oliver nodded at the assembled Legends team.
“Of course, any Earth ending event is always worth coming home.” Sara nodded at Oliver with a playful smile on his face.
“Where’s Scarlet at?” Mick crossed his arms looking around for his favorite Speedster, knowing Len would find a way to come back as a ghost to annoy him if he didn’t at least ask about Len’s favorite rival.
“Sorry I’m late.” A voice blurred as a red and yellow lightning bolt appeared and a man in an evenly mixed red and yellow suit appeared, a mix between Barry’s Flash suit and Wally’s Kid Flash Suit.
“Barry?” Ray asked curious at the costume change.
“No… I’m the Flash now.” Wally said as he tugged the cowl down to expose his face.
“What happened?” Ray asked quietly, shock on his face. Even Mick looked taken aback.
“Barry is… He’s gone; he’s keeping something back. If he left without a replacement the world would be thrown into chaos again.” Wally explained, still keeping up his confident posture something he had learned from Kara on one of her visits.
“I’m sorry.” Sara offered up, wincing at the obvious pain that Wally and Cisco were feeling, she also knew that his was hurting Oliver, Felicity and Supergirl.
“We are honoring his legacy and memory, now we better save the planet before he get’s back.” Wally smirked as he zipped around gathering what they would need to deal with their newest threat to Earth.
“He’s confident.” Sara approached Oliver when they were all milling around while their scout team was out getting more information.
“He should be, he was trained by me and Supergirl.” Oliver smirked before chuckling when Sara let out a sympathetic whine of pain knowing how much of a slave driver Oliver could be and she didn’t even want to think about what Kara with her super strength and DEO training would make him endure.
“Yeah, he’ll be just fine.” Oliver said with pride in his voice, one she had only heard when he talked about Barry.
“Yeah, I think we all will be.” Sara smiled, patting his arm as the two watched their teams work together with Wally, no the Flash in the centre of it. Sara patted Oliver’s arm once more before moving over to talk with Mick who was grumbling about something to his heat gun while throwing Wally glances every so often.
Oliver flinched forward suddenly as he felt a gush of wind rush by him, but Wally was over with the others while Jessie was out with the scouting party. Oliver twisted his head to the side and he swore, he swore he saw the remainders of painfully familiar red lightning.
“Oliver, I think I just saw…” Kara floated over to him, confusion and hope on her face.
“I saw it too… Even trapped he still is watching out for us.” Oliver chuckled fondly, this wasn’t the first time he had seen the red lightning around and he knew that Barry was too stubborn to just sit back and rest.
“Once a hero, always a hero.” Kara smiled as she touched down next to Oliver in the spot Sara just vacated and the two watched the others feeling content that their third was watching as well.

lenadanversandkaraluthor liked your post “//like for a starter? ”
He had done it. Somehow, Lex’s long game had come to fruition. Supergirl was dead. The United States was his. He had a clone of Supergirl who was totally obedient.
And, worst of all, Lena had watched Lex’s pet Kryptonian toss Kara’s body onto the floor of the Oval Office, exposing her secret, tearing everything Lena thought was real into shreds. Kara was Supergirl. Kara had been lying to her since the day they met. Kara was Supergirl and Supergirl was dead.
After that, things went hazy. Suddenly, Lena was all alone in the world. All of her friends were Kara’s friends except for Sam but Lena honestly had no idea if Sam was even still alive and she was so terrified that she might risk Ruby’s safety if she tried to reach out to her in any way that she never even considered reaching out to her. Lena was alone and her constant, the one person in the entire world who she could trust with everything she was, had lied to her for their entire relationship.
Lex had known, of course. He had Lena seated on the couch, his hands resting on her shoulders, leaning over to speak into her ear as though comforting her. This is what you replaced me with, Lena. They’ve done it to you before--that Daxamite who used you, who kept you all for herself, who kidnapped you, who forced you to agree to marry her son.
This is what happens when you stray, Lena. I never lied to you, Lena. You don’t believe in my cause but I have never lied to you. Never once did I claim that you weren’t my real sister. Never once did I do anything but make you the best version of yourself you could be. I’m the only one who loves you, Lena. I’m the only one who cares about you. I’m the only one who wants you. I’ve always been there even when you betrayed me, even when you sold me out to the feds.
No one else can ever love you the way I love you, Lena. I want you. I love you. I know we’re going to do great things together. I know you’re going to change the world.
Lex took over the country and Lena was locked up in the White House. The bedroom was beautiful and elaborate and locked down so tightly that there was nothing Lena could do to even begin to find an escape. Lex knew her far too well to allow her the ability to get out of his trap; he was always five steps ahead of him no matter how hard she tried.
His people brought her the finest clothes, most of them from her own closet. She had, for a few days, considered shredding everything and refusing to be presentable, but she knew that she had very limited options and Lena had always felt stronger when dressed in eye-catching dresses or sharp suits and heels high enough to allow her to tower over others. It was a trick she had learned from her mother, really, although Lillian never needed the added heels to boost her impressive height. She still wore them, of course, because being a towering six feet and five inches was more than enough to make most people feel tiny and insignificant in her presence.
Lena might not command the same height as her mother but she certainly could channel the same ferocity that her mother was capable of. Coupled with everything Lena had learned about using her femininity as a weapon, she felt stronger and more in control when she took the time and energy to dress herself instead of refusing.
Nightly dinners, often with company, became routine after the first few weeks. Lex wined and dined the best the planet had to offer. All Human, of course, because, as of the beginning of his reign, he had every alien apprehended and locked up. He even had plans to take them to Slaver’s Moon to sell them off to others for profit. It was disgusting but every time Lena tried to interject, to tell him he was a pathetic excuse for a man, his henchpeople stopped her. Sometimes it was a heavy hand on her shoulder, sometimes it was a meaty palm over her mouth. Sometimes it was locking her in a dark closet and left to scream herself hoarse.
But he was always kind with her. He was always soft. Always offering her that tiny spark of interest, the smallest scrap of affection, the cruel tease of love. He touched her now, too. His hand resting at the small of her back, his hand taking hers as he looked at her in earnest, his unwavering gaze making her skin crawl in a confusing and awful mixture of desperate need and horrified disgust. He never reprimanded her for crying, not even at her weakest moments the way he would have done when they were children. Instead, the first time he found her crying silently in the doorway of the Oval Office where Supergirl’s body had laid motionless for the whole world to see, he held her in his arms and let her cry. She had fought against him at first but he was gentle and firm and solid and he was the only one she had left now. She had no one else. No one else would ever love her.
Weeks stretched into months and Lena--she fell back into the same patterns she had lived as a child. She spent every day with Lex on her mind. His approval. What he was doing right then. What he would think of her. It felt like every step she had taken away from the little girl who had been so desperate to please her family, to prove that she was worthy of their love and attention, had all been erased. She felt herself growing desperate again. Affection starved. Touch starved. She hadn’t realized how much Kara had given her until it was yanked away from her. Now, every single time Lex so much as rested his hand on her shoulder, she found herself desperate for more.
He knew, of course. He always knew. He knew every single thought she had ever had and he used it against her. It was his weapon and Lena would never be free of him. And, even if she was, where would she go? What would she do? She was nothing without him. He had been the one to make her into this. She was as accomplished as she was because of him. Every single good thing she was was because he had made her that way. He had molded and guided her so that she could be the best person she could be.
Without him--she was just an unloved little girl.
Lena worked on the Harun-El for hours on end, trying to isolate the components to allow Lex to create super soldiers. To help further Humanity. To help save their future. To put everyone on a level playing field. She did it with great reluctance, of course, but... she did it. She did it because he had asked her to do it and she had never been able to say no to Lex. She had never been strong enough and now was no different.
She worked far too late one night after falling asleep in the lab and she groggily made her way back to her room. She had no escort--she hadn’t since her third week with Lex once he had decided that she no longer had the urge to fight him on things since locking her in closets and manipulating her emotions broke her down--and all the interior security was electronic with sentries posted on entries and exits as well as others walking the perimeter. But the White House itself was almost silent at three in the morning and Lena was so out of it that she quite literally walked into something solid.
No. Not something--someone.
She smelled different. She didn’t smell like soft, floral laundry detergent or that dry shampoo Lena had bought for her after one too many late dinners where she had lost track of time washing her hair. She didn’t smell like coffee or new books or even like doughnuts. She smelled wrong but she looked so right.
Kara Danvers. Not quite her but her. The same eyes. The same face. That same hair. And Lena couldn’t breathe because she was seeing a ghost and she gripped her shirt instinctively, keeping her close, and dropping her head onto her shoulder because Kara was here!
It hit her only a half second after her forehead rested on a strong shoulder: this wasn’t Kara. Kara was dead. This--this was Lex’s Kryptonian. Lena had seen her before, of course, but never up close. She had made a point of avoiding her, of keeping as much distance between them as possible because it was just too painful. But, now, Lena was tired and it was dark and Lex’s Red Daughter looked just like Kara and Lena was so desperate for someone to love her that she had forgotten about Red Daughter’s existence just long enough to lose herself in the fantasy of having Kara back.
She took a shaky step back, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked up at the stranger who wore her best friend’s face. She blinked hard against the threat of tears but that faint glimmer of hope being crushed so violently made her lose the battle. Which was exactly why Lena reached up to ever so carefully traced the line of Red Daughter’s jaw, half convinced that she was seeing a ghost.
Maybe she was. Maybe Lena had finally lost her mind and was seeing things. Did it even matter anymore? Did she care that she had lost her sanity? Honestly, she couldn’t care less. She didn’t even feel real anymore so why did anything else matter?
“I miss you so much,” she choked and she fell forward against the person who was definitely not Kara’s chest. It didn’t matter anymore. It didn’t matter that she was pathetic because nothing mattered. Let Lex mock her for this; her entire existence was a joke so this would be no different.

Bear-fox? How about a badger-bear-skunk.

I haven’t drawn the giant form yet, but here is Snookums as a cub. He turns into this when he was told he is too big to be on the couch. It is unfortunately super effective.

:O it's THE BABY! Who was (and it's important we all remember this) at LEAST the size of a mastiff in life. And now, like cujo, in death can get BIGGER.
It's also important to remember he has delightfully squishy cheeks and no braincells, except when protecting things or Mischief was involved. You can absolutely just *lightly poke him, he flops over for belly rubs* and dump random children on his back for rides. But only the GODS can save your yard now.
There WILL be ten billion holes.
He must DIG. __n(o.o_n_)n____ *proceeds to tear up your garden looking for small animals and tubers of any kind*
But also? That boy STURDY af. Because his species was BUILT to wear pretty heavy armor and protect Their People from Krypton's Larger and frankly fucked up predatory species. Think Boar/bear hunting dogs. If said boar or bear was covered in spikey rhino skin and the size if an elephant.
(The grooming was a nightmaaaaare. Omg did Snookums breed have THICK fur. Great for protecting them, horrific to groom)
Was Krypto Jor-El's dog? Or did their family have another pet?

Congratulations on your new ghost pet, Superman. No, he's not leaving. It just kinda happens sometimes. It's how Danny got Cujo. Wanna do pet playdates?
