I walked the full size promenade of Krynica Zdrój, Poland, and Lloyd walked the miniature promenade :)
I literally spotted this and told my mom wait a sec, and she was like: "you didn't bring your legos with you did you," and I just casually took a sack of lego people out of my bag because of course I did.
(Yes I know the second one is overexposed, just don't think about it too much 🙈 I'll fix it in post later, maybe.)
Irl Krynica Zdrój for comparison because it's pretty:
so Nikifor was a Lemko painter who lived in poverty in Krynica-Zdrój
he was self-taught, painted on any sheet of paper he could find, mostly panoramas of Krynica
probably had some kind of intellectual disability
he had difficulties writing; the captions he wrote on his paintings are full of spelling errors
considered one of the most prominent representants of naive art
so anywayyy there is a gallery of his art in Krynica and i absolutely adore it, not only this one but all of them. the lines, the colours, the perspective! just lovely. and Nikifor himself was such an interesting figure in art history
Pogrzeb huculski:
painted in 1882
it's one of Axentowicz's many paintings depicting Hutsul culture
the landscape! the beautiful greek catholic church!
i do love funeral scenes and i do love snowy landscapes
the little kid on the right is probably my favourite detail here tho. if you zoom in she's looking right at you. creepy baby
there is something really precious to me about a funeral being such a colourful scene against the empty winter landscape

I went on a weekend trip to Krynica Morska with a friend of mine. WE were riding a bike through the town, and sightseeing. As I have not been riding a bike in a while, it was a bit of a challange.
Russian Red Cross Fails Ukrainians. Belarusian Deportations from Sweden and Arrests in Belarus.
You are watching the news from the weekly rally at the Russian Embassy in Lisbon. Today is September 7, 2:30 PM.
Ukrainian military intelligence has provided CNN with reports of 15 incidents over the last 10 months where surrendering Ukrainian soldiers were executed by Russian forces instead of being taken captive. A UN source told CNN, “These killings, while individual acts, are war crimes… and taken together, they may amount to crimes against humanity.”

In July 2022, Verstka reported that the Russian Red Cross distributed mugs with Putin's face to Ukrainian refugees instead of offering real aid. The International Committee of the Red Cross had allocated approximately 900,000 Swiss francs to support Ukrainian refugees.

In February, Meduza shared the testimony of Ukrainian soldier Orest Gritsyuk, who was held in Russian captivity. He recounted how representatives of the Russian Red Cross observed the torture of Ukrainian prisoners, mocked them, and hurled insults. Over the next three years, the Russian Red Cross will receive around 2 billion rubles from the Russian state budget.

And now, for some surprising news: Christmas is coming early this year—at least in Venezuela. In an effort to divert attention from ongoing protests, dictator Maduro, who lost the election by a wide margin, has announced Christmas celebrations will begin three months ahead of schedule. CNN also reports that Maduro has ordered the construction of two new prisons to detain opposition supporters involved in the protests.
