Worm in the Apple (the Wormton AU fic) is at 120k words! Obviously the worm guy loves apples, fruit, and sugary stuff in general, though it holds no nutritional value for him. It's fitting, since most of the "worms" found in apples are actually just some form of insect, just like how Wormton himself isn't an actual worm. Being as contradicting as possible is his whole thing, I suppose.

Anyways, I've been struggling to write the depressing crap, so I often like to imagine the ending where they can all be happy together in Castle Town. I interpret Castle Town as a place where darkners are less bound to fate, since it doesn't seem to manifest from the real world, and is made of pure darkness, whatever that means. Wormton wouldn't have to hide anymore, but he would very much be, uh, neutralized if he tries to infect anything. He wouldn't get to have sixteen identical feral worm children that look like slightly smaller mirror images of him crawling all around the place, unfortunately; Castle Town could do without a highly invasive species that eats and destroys everything. I imagine that he'd keep the suit jacket so that he actually has some pockets, as well as to hide himself a little bit. Malworms naturally like to stay outside of the spotlight, so he's not very comfortable without his disguise. Not that being crammed inside his disguise was much more comfortable, but, hey, what other option did he have?

I like to imagine the addisons getting stuck with Wormton in Castle Town due to it having greater population density. I'm considering making it so that they don't even know he's there at first, like those criminal cases where some guy is living in a family's attic for months unnoticed. He'll have the opportunity to harass Swatch, interact with other characters like Lancer, and send "mild" death threats to Rouxls. I think he'd avoid Kris and the other lightners. He tries to kill Kris and absorb the SOUL from the get-go, and the two of them lack that puppet connection, since Wormton never picked up the phone. Still, he does pick up on their stilted movements that mimic his own when he's puppeteering his disguise, and does realize that the SOUL is a little more controlling than he would want, so they eventually reach a peaceful conclusion (This AU follows the pacifist normal route. This cold-blooded mf would probably just go into hibernation and do absolutely nothing if the player did a Weird Route). He's still pissed about them taking his shadow crystal, even if the starry night sky it once let him witness will never shine through its surface again. Kris is such a gremlin from what we know that I think it would he sweet if he valued the fact that, while they find his puppet-like disguise creepy, they're unfazed by his real appearance. Kris can go on his "people I don't fantasize about murdering and eating regularly" list, which might just be his "nestmates :^]" list if he'd actually admit it

Back to writing about him hating himself so much that he can't fathom someone healing him unless it was a transactional favor, hiding in a locked closet with no stimulation because he thinks he's trying to kill Blue whenever he's in an instict-driven half-asleep state (emphasis on thinks), believing the only reason that Blue is worried about him hiding so much is because they want him to leave faster, understanding so little of his actual species that he becomes stressed when he does anything that "isn't normal," Having fits of anger and mental breakdowns and feeling bad about it afterwards, using the worst coping mechanisms known to man, and devouring an entire 16 inch regular crust meat lover's pizza in one sitting

Even if we, the player, are controlling them in the dark world, they do seem to have some measure of control (see below) and as scary as being a puppet on strings for something completely unknown to you is, i can't imagine it being all bad for Kris.

hm... actually, considering they violently tear the soul out of their chest whenever they're alone and have a greater measure of control over their own body...

but then again, from what we can glimpse of their character throughout the current chapters from before we took control, they do see to be the kind of kid who would love to have a sword... I mean they already have a designated knife at home...

and if they (Kris and Susie) pull the same thing with Toriel as they did with Noelle (telling her the dark world adventure was a dream), Toriel might just say yes to a wooden toy sword or something. Or she might say no on account of Kris being a mischievous little gremlin and not wanting to weaponize them. Well, not more than they already are with the knife, but there are probably some rules around the knife, but even if not, i think a sword would be way more dangerous than a knife.

Now that i think about it... Toriel seems like a very safety-oriented parent, and Deltarune Toriel seems to be very similar to her Undertale counterpart, which has garden tools (?) with ends that are filed down to make them safer in her living room (as opposed to regular garden tools in the home that Asgore is living in). So if DR Toriel is anything like UT Toriel, would she really allow Kris to have a sharp knife? We know about the knife that it can cut through pie, but pie isn't very tough to cut through. It's possible the knife that Kris is allowed to have is very dull, which seems more like Toriels style of parenting, but would still be intimidating enough for Kris's apparent taste.

I can imagine Asgore being the one to intially give Kris the knife when they ask for it, because Asgore wanted to be a good father, even if that can sometimes lead to stupid decisions. (I can imagine those stupid decisions having something to do with Toriel divorcing and disliking Asgore now to the point of trashing the flowers he gives her) And because Kris was so little, they cut themselves with the knife. One way or another, Toriel finds out and dulls the knife to make it safe for Kris to handle.

Of course that would've been when Kris was a small child. But in the game, Kris appears to be a teenager of unspecified age, but several years younger than Asriel, who is old enough to be in college, and also older enough for Kris have referred to him as a "big kid" when Kris themselves was a child. My completely blind guess would be that Kris is somewhere around 4-6 years younger than Asriel, so with Asriel being college age, i would put Kris somewhere around maybe 15-16? Roughly speaking, that is.

Now, I've been a teenager, and when I was a teen, i 100% thought i was super mature (i was not), and Kris would absolutely be thinking themselves to be mature enough to have a sword. They already get one when they're in the dark world, after all, it can't be that different in the light world, right?

My review of Double or Nothing 2024

Overall PPV Rating- 8.5/10 stars

In-Depth look under the cut.

I'll start with the pre-show matches.

Deonna vs Rosa- 8/10 stars. Really solid match for a pre-show bout. Both Deonna and Rosa got some good spots in. I was sure that Rosa was going to win, but Deonna pulled one out from under her. I'm expecting the fued to continue until maybe a street fight of some sort between them. It was a good opener to a night of action.

The Acclaimed vs Cage of Agony- 7/10 stars. Max Caster my beloved. Loved the rap and the shenanigans as always. Action was chaotic in a good way. Brian Cage never fails to amaze me with his insane build. Dude is a monster. Very entertaining match to watch.

Now onto the Main Card

Roddy vs Will- 9/10 stars. Almost a perfect match! William Ospreay you are allergic to having a bad match. The actions was entertaining and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I got to see Matt Taven be sexy which is always a bonus. (Mr. Taven please call me) I can't wait to see what kind bangers Will is going to put on now that he's champion.

Post-Roddy/Will shenanigans- ADAM COLE BAY BAY. So happy to see my sinster short king back and ready to cause problems. also. MJF YOU SEXY BITCH. Love the new tattoo pookie!! I can't wait to see the post breakup between these two get MESSY.

Bang Bang Gang vs Death Triangle- 8/10 stars. Jay and Pac aka my two fav greasy little bastard men going at it! Great to see Penta and Fenix back in action again! Death Triangle is so cool. The Gunn bros were chaotic lil weasels as well. They are learning from mother Jay White. and JUICE ROBINSON MY GREMLIN MAN!!! WELCOME BACK POOKIE!!

Orange Cassidy v Trent Baretta- 8/10 stars. Emo Orange you are so special to me. My heart hurts seeing them be mean to one another and I might have cried a little bit. Great match between two men that used to be so close! Emotional for everyone.

Toni Storm vs Serena Deeb- 6/10 stars. I didn't pay that much attention to this match tbh. Serena Deeb is boring to watch if you ask me. Girl had no chemistry with Toni. I did enjoy Nigel being a simp on comms though. And seeing Mariah and Toni be gay is always a plus! Most boring match of the night but still a solid one.

Jericho vs HOOK vs Shibata- 5/10 stars. The action in the ring was good. However, TONY KHAN YOU WILL PAY FOR NOT ONLY LETTING CHRIS FUCKING JERICHO KEEP THAT BELT. BUT ALSO MAKING FUCKING SHIBATA TAKE THE PIN AND RUINING BRYAN KEITH FOR ME.

Adam Copeland vs Malakai Black- 9/10 stars. It would have been a perfect match but Malakai lost so. This was a match for the sickos and i ATE IT UP. Blood! Violence! Religious Symbolism!! It had IT ALL. RIP to Adam's knees after jumping off the cage. Also welcome back Grangrel you funky vampire man! The fake-out apot with Brody and Buddy was dope. I got swerved hard with that one. Second best match of the night if you ask me.

Willow vs Mercedes- 7/10 stars. I'm pressed as fuck that Willow lost. The action was solid. You know these girls dont play in the ring. I get that Mercedes is supposed to be a huge star. But my girl Willow got ROBBED. And you take away Kris and Stoke from her??? We can't have nice things in this house.

Swerve vs Christian- 7/10 stars. This was also a solid match. Swerve ddin't get to be nearly as unhinged as i'd of liked. But thats fine. It was fun seeing the shenanigans with Mama Wayne, Nick, and Luchasaurus! Match had me second guessing Swerve winning a couple of times I'll admit.

Anarchy in the Arena- 10/10 stars. BEST MATCH OF THE NIGHT. Oh my god this whole match was INSANE. It baffles me that Darby Allin is even walking after everything that he's gone through then he comes out and does insane shit like this?? Getting hit by a bus? Hanged??? Sir, please seek help. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!! I'm looking forward to seeing this Bucks gimmick end. I hate it. Cringe. All the spots were great! Had me engaged the whole time.

Team Blue's Clues:

Propaganda for the combined team; Church would probably hate it; just another group of people to annoy him. Kris and L would probably be neutral/indifferent, and Sonia would definitely be happy about it, encouraging them all to do their best to achieve victory together~! She also knows a little more about serial killers than any of them expected, except for maybe L who knows that was probably one of the reasons why they were paired up together as friends. Kris would think that's kinda neat, Church is still just there but also at least this group is semi-intelligent. Unlike SOME other people back at Blood Gulch (and then he gets a little sad about missing his boys, but shh don't tell) Maybe this is what Church was doing for the year between five and six…

Bill and Kokichi:

So here me out; both characters are known for being massive liars, while also having plenty more layers to them if you manage to break past all the lies. I might not think about Kokichi as much as Bill, but the concept of guys who hide themselves behind layers and layers of lies is SO fascinating. Sure they would be friends because they're both horrid little gremlins who love to act as the big man in control, but that's really all it is; an act. How many of those layers would be rendered useless when placed up against someone who has also mastered the act of building a wall of lies to hide behind? How many more walls of lies would they try to put up to out-lie the other? Or would they actually start tearing them down when confronted with someone exactly like them? Who's to say, but a friendship between two people like that is certainly an interesting one. Plus they're two little gremlins who would absolutely use the fact that everyone sees them as nothing but horrid little liars to really have fun messing with people. They'd just be conversing about absolute bullshit and anyone nearby would just be listening like "What are you two FUCKING TALKING about???🤨" IDK I just think they're silly and neat and their dynamic would be very fun :3

Nemona (Pokémon S/V): She has so much passion and energy for battling!!! She genuinely just wants to connect with someone even though she's so misunderstood!!! Also, she can't handle exercise. I feel you, girl.

Hanamaru Kunikida (Love Live! Sunshine!!): I'm not much of a Love Live fan anymore, but I still love Hanamaru so so much. She is sunshine and light and sweetness and a bookworm and she gets so much joy out of enjoying food and spending time with her friends. A comfort character of mine.

Personal ships!

Hop/Gloria/Marnie (Pokémon SW/SH): Hop/Gloria is my main focus, just because I think their high energy (in my headcanons, anyways) play off of each other really well. I also like Gloria/Marnie for sunshine/serious. I also like Hop/Victor. I think about the Sw/Sh characters a lot.

Nemona/Juliana (Pokémon S/V): After 君と雨上がりを and Biri-Biri, they're canon. But also, you can't just ask someone to be your best rival like that!!!

ahh ty!!!!! i went digging through my sketchpads and files to see if i had any other references planned out but i found nothing, really sorry about that! this au is still very much in the very early concept stage, and im not great at character design, so i might go looking to see if some of my friends or mutuals would like to help me in making it if i end up making it into a big project!

i do have a fair description of some of the characters though, just no visuals. hope thats ok! ill stop this lil rant now and get on to describing the characters lmao

some character descs under the cut!

now that i think of it, i haven't really fleshed out ralsei! he fills in as the kris of the au, though i haven't decided yet if he would be possessed yet, as the code is kinda fucked up and i dunno if that would even be possible. he lives in castletown (where he is NOT the prince, castletown has a mayor (lancer's dad) and functions as this au's hometown. hometown is the au's castletown) with his two adoptive parents, seam and jevil (SORRY IM A SEAMVIL SHIPPER HH). He has an older sibling (currently unnamed, but is agender and goes by he/she/they pronouns) who is currently in college. Ralsei's personality is similar to his canon one, hes just a sweet lil boy, but he is quieter. he has a slight feeling that there's something wrong, but he isn't quite sure WHAT is.

so, along with ralsei having the sort of 'kris role' in this au, lancer will be filling in susie's role! by no means does he act like susie, however, he does act tough, but i basically just canon lancer. he is a good bit younger than ralsei, being only 10, and was actually born after the whole world 'flipped'. he doesn't really have the most interesting story so far, he mainly just follows ralsei around because he thinks he's really cool, and they end up bonding before the actual story takes place. he, like most people, isn't aware of the 'flip' that happened in the timeline.

the character that is kind of in the 'ralsei role' is currently unnamed (they don't technically HAVE a name, im just trying to think of a nickname that lancer would call them), but they couldn't be more different to ralsei. they in courage fighting over acting because they are a little gremlin full of spite (though generally ralsei refuses). they also don't want to help darkners as they feel it isn't their job, but they go along with lancer and ralsei because they decided that those two would probably die if they didn't. they aren't really the ruler of hometown? they're just the only resident. also, they're the only person who knows to an extent what the fuck is going on with the timeline (and might have some links with the code?) but they have no clue who THEY were before the flip, if they even existed, as they are aware some didn't. they just can't remember. they disguise their face with some kind of magic

ALSO SPAMTON!! hes not really an all that important character, but back in his day he was on top; he was married to jevil, he was the ceo of the biggest company in the world, run by the addisons, and had personal links with the president (though, she liked to call herself 'queen') of the country he lived in. but, after he divorced jevil (this was before ralsei was adopted), he lost his job and is now confined to a little used car shop at the edge of castletown. he's doing alright, but he looks fondly back at his days of being a big shot. he doesn't like seam or jevil very much though

as i said, still very much a work in progress, but i have a lot of other ideas for this au, and really hope i can do something cool with it!!! tysm for the ask anon!!!

Very quiet, but mainly due to them being selectively mute. Gotten worse recently though, due to certain recent events.

Very mischievous though, a little gremlin, even. Loves playing pranks, especially on Berdly.

Actually really bad at hiding their feelings, unless something is stopping them. Prone to outbursts if something is bottled down to long.

Tired all of the time.

Thinks they're irredeemable but is really just 16.
