My oc storyline:

The Crystal caverns hold a curse within them

“The living perish, and the perished return with the breath of life”

These 3 characters managed to fuse with the curse so they are technically between life and death. The side effect for the curse is that crystals grow on your body.

They are part of an exploration group full of scientists that entered the cursed land. When they made contact with the curse, it had a different effect on them compared to how the others are affected.

Normally, the curse would have the living being (no matter animal or person) to be consumed in Crystal, replacing their entire fleshy body with these sparkling jewels.

Something else happened.. these three beings in particular managed to consume and fuse with the curse that they practically became immune, and the curse of the crystals do not spread across their entire body. Just on some places
