MISSION: Drowtown

The party returned to the Stromkuhldur ruins controlled by Azrok's Legion missing Kava. They did, however, meet Top. She's a persistent little rock gnome that promised she'd be handy in a tight spot if the party would vouch for her. After some debate, they agreed to keep an eye on her inside the town. She might have been annoyingly bubbly, but she did raise spirits a bit.

Debating whether to sneak through town quietly or face the music, the party decided to just own up to their unsatisfactory mission status. They approached Azrok's throne room, but Lurkana wasn't there. So, they had to carefully address the incompleteness of their mission to find Azrok's magic dagger. Disappointed, but not angry, he asks them to see if they can instead help identify the base that T'rissa Auvryndar is using to lead the Drow incursion from the other side of Stromkuhldur. Still wanting to help, the party agrees to head out the next day.

They do ask if anyone in the Legion's area has seen Kava, they have not. Tossa also notices that Azrok is wearing a withered finger with a ring from a necklace. A little asking around leads the party to believe that it might be the finger of one Kressando Rosznar for whom they were looking. It'll take a little more digging, but they want to confirm those suspicions before reporting back to Kressando's sister in Waterdeep.

The party heads back to Drowtown and investigates a few rooms and fights off a couple of groups of serious Drow forces.

The party finds an interesting room with a fish-in-the-stream sculpture that eventually reveals a magical crystalline fish that, when picked up, turns into a magic gem of some kind.

They also find the bedroom of some kind of magic Drow leader (they assume, T'rissa) which they promptly loot. Taking one spellbook and breaking the spell focus wand next to it. They also camp out in this room before making further efforts the next day, but that just pinned them into a room when another force attacked and nearly took them down.

Heading north, they found a chimera guarding a giant hoard of copper and silver. At this point, the party was at a loss for where to head next. Top, using her ability to locate a creature, believes that the giant spiders are somewhere north of their position, but they don't know how to get there.

They party wants to head back to Legion territory, but notices a green mist that they are convinced is the Oni waiting for them. So, they head back and camp in the chimera's cave. This leads to their next clue when they notice another Drow force marching south past the cave. At this point they know they need to head further north and finally decide to examine the angular hall connected to the old dwarven catacombs.

This proves fruitful as they encounter quaggoths guarding some kind of entrance that's heavily webbed. They also find a room with golden veins in the walls and busy rooms beyond.

As Sychor listens to the door, it's clear the party has found a center of some kind of activity and the prevalence of thick spiderwebs always suggests Drow. This might be what they're looking for. Will they be able to survive the heart of the Drow operation (if that's what this is)? Will they ever find Kava? Will they ever be able to complete a mission to their satisfaction?
