Plavic Narnia

A new Plavac Mali for me and oh boy is this a bruiser! Deep clear crimson in the glass, a hint of garnet at the edge of the clear rim. A more concentrated affectation of fruit and spirit in the nose would be hard to find–but not flabbily concentrated or thickly macerated–no: this is pure fruit. Granted, running a bit towards candied cherry but nowhere approaching maraschino. More a thick elixir…

Komarna 7 2016 Made of pure Plavac Mali from all 7 wineries of Komarna Region. Certified organic Eye: dark purple Nose: sour and black cherry, black currant, after a bit of aeration cloves. Palate, red and black cherry, cacao, good freshness, tannins still a bit sharp but softening, long finish with a persistent spicy sensation (cloves and black pepper) An excellent wine. Better to wait until the end of 2020.🇭🇷
