Koh Hong, Krabi, Thailand: Koh Hong is a small and very popular island located halfway between Koh Yao Noi and Krabi, about 7 km from each and technically 30 km east of the closest port of Phuket Island. The island is superb and consists of two enclosed beaches and a bay that reminds a lot of the famous Maya Bay on Phi Phi island.

Discover the Best Haad Rin Hotel for an Unforgettable Holiday in Koh Phangan
When planning a trip to Thailand, Koh Phangan stands out as a must-visit destination, known for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and the world-famous Full Moon Party. Among its many attractions, Haad Rin Beach is particularly popular, offering a blend of natural beauty and festive atmosphere. To make the most of your holiday, finding the perfect Haad Rin hotel is essential. Here's a guide to help you plan an unforgettable stay in Koh Phangan.
Why Choose Haad Rin
Haad Rin is famous for its lively beach scene, which comes alive every month during the Full Moon Party. This event attracts thousands of visitors from around the globe, transforming the beach into a lively dance floor under the moonlight. But Haad Rin has more to offer beyond this iconic event. The area boasts beautiful sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a range of activities from snorkeling to kayaking.
Selecting the Ideal Haad Rin Hotel
Choosing the right Haad Rin hotel is crucial for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The area offers a variety of accommodations, from budget-friendly hostels to luxurious beachfront resorts. When selecting your hotel, consider factors such as proximity to the beach, amenities offered, and overall ambiance.
For travelers seeking a lively experience, staying close to the Full Moon Party action might be ideal. These hotels often provide easy access to the party while ensuring a comfortable retreat afterward. On the other hand, if you prefer a quieter stay, opt for hotels situated a bit further from the main beach, offering a peaceful environment and stunning views.
Top Activities During Your Holidays in Koh Phangan
Your holidays Koh Phangan should be filled with both relaxation and adventure. Start your day with a serene yoga session on the beach or explore the underwater world with a snorkeling tour. The island is also home to several breathtaking waterfalls, such as Than Sadet and Phaeng Waterfall, perfect for a refreshing dip or a scenic hike.
For a taste of local culture, visit the island's temples, such as Wat Phu Khao Noi, the oldest temple on the island. Don’t miss the vibrant night markets, where you can savor delicious Thai street food and shop for unique souvenirs.
Exploring Beyond Haad Rin
While Haad Rin offers plenty to see and do, exploring other parts of Koh Phangan is equally rewarding. The northern part of the island, with its secluded beaches and relaxed vibe, is a stark contrast to the bustling south. Consider taking a boat trip around the island to discover hidden gems and lesser-known beaches.
The west coast of Koh Phangan is known for its stunning sunsets, making it a perfect spot for a romantic evening or a quiet moment of reflection. Haad Yao and Haad Salad are popular beaches on this side, offering excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities.
Planning Your Visit
When planning your trip to Koh Phangan, consider the best time to visit. The island enjoys a tropical climate, with the most pleasant weather from December to March. However, if you are keen on experiencing the Full Moon Party, plan your visit around the lunar calendar to ensure you don’t miss this iconic event.
Booking your Haad Rin hotel in advance is advisable, especially during peak seasons and Full Moon Party dates, to secure the best accommodations.
Conclusion
A holiday in Koh Phangan promises an unforgettable experience filled with natural beauty, cultural richness, and vibrant nightlife. Choosing the perfect Haad Rin hotel will enhance your stay, providing a comfortable base to explore all that this stunning island has to offer. Whether you are here for the parties, the beaches, or the serene island life, Koh Phangan is sure to leave you with lasting memories.

Yesterday was mostly a travel day! We went for a jog to the pier, had our final perfect breakfast at the Hillhouse, and morning coffee on the porch of our bungalow with Santa, our Christmas cat that continues to visit in the morning and at night. We’re going to miss that guy!
We scootered into town for a final time to get a couple last minute things from the shops, and exchange a shirt for the correct size. I’m going to miss that scooter!
Then, we cleaned up our room and put our bags down in the check out area. The girl at the desk hand drew us some bookmarks, and we’re definitely going to frame them as art. We’re going to miss our Koh Yao Noi hillhouse family!
We walked down to the beach for 45 minutes of sunshine - and, I’ll say it: we’re going to miss that little beach!
Koh Yao Noi was just the absolute perfect place and i guarantee when we think back to this trip, our five days there will be what is most remembered.
We took the taxi to the boat, met a really nice couple from Philly waiting for a boat to Krabi, and gave them some recommendations. And we set off for Phuket. We got a taxi instantly, and the driver took a couple wrong turns on one way streets near our hotel. But, we made it! We’re at a boutique hotel that’s been opened by the same family for 103 years! Right in the middle of old town Phuket. A contrast to the beach life we’ve been living.
We went to dinner at the most reviewed place in town, then walked the streets looking at shops, and decided to get a massage. After the massage we found a night market for some late night bites, and then back to the hotel.
Excited to explore more tomorrow!
