i mentioned koga -> kinjou (yowapeda) in the tags but to be super duper duper honest. while I did have like, soft sweet lovesick songs that reminded me of them, the iconic ones are SUPER edgy?

Koga was mi stress toy, I was SO MUCH LESS KIND to him than I am to Toshiro, even though I deffinitely love him about as much.

Why? Mainly vibes I think, it's a. it's a sports manga set in highschool LOL but I just can't picture Koga NOT letting Kinjou get away with absolutely anything and everything. He gives him too much grace, he assumes the best intentions in everything he does.

And, admittedly, I do think Kinjou never is/was ill-intentioned towards Koga. They were just, teens.

Interesting how age changes your perception on dynamics. I was close to their age when I started reading YWPD so I always took their uh, not conflict, just, problem? very seriously. But now that I'm 10 years our of highschool I'm like. Babygirl (Koga)? You reaaaally didn't need to do all that over a highshcooler.

This one was AU-specific to be fair. Koga, Kinjour and Arakita (with whom Kinjou would eventually be an item) went to the same college. Koga never stops pinning for Kinjou, although there's some canon-established unaddressed baggage between them, that both fuels his self-deprecation and keeps him from making a move.

Kinjou is aware of, to put it shortly and unkindly, how weird Koga is about how he regards their relationship/Kinjou/himself since that canon event, so although he remains polite he never gives him false hopes. But, he also never addresses anything directly with him. They were both very conflict avoidant with the particular event that changed their dynamic, which I loved so much lol oghh. the tension lol.

In any case, that song was meant to inspire Koga's mindset after he learns that Kinjou and Arakita get together. It's fucked dudes! Freshly 20 something or so, a health-nut with a supressed masochistic streak, he goes off the fucking rocker.

ANYWAY!

The other songs that to this day remind me of Kin<-Koga are the most disgusting lovesick songs sang by Mon Laferte. The latinx girlies will see them an understand, just how HOOOOOWWW serious it was for me when I said "it's a doomed love and Koga took nothing but damage from it towards the end".

These are just, the heavy artillery, serious business unrequited love songs for us.

Idk why picturing Koga listening to this ^^^ song and having a break down was like a drug to me. Why did I take it so seriously? lmfao

Mon Laferte was to me during college what Mitski is to me nowadays, in case it wasn't obvious lol.

Post 2nd interhigh thoughts

Listen, I’ve been pondering about where the current third years will go or what they will do after this inter-high and when they graduate. 

Please be aware this is based on their relationships with other characters, what has happened so far and where I personally want them to think they will go.

Under cut for length

Sohoku

- For Teshima, I feel he’ll either go straight into work and quit cycling, or he will go to Yonan. We’ve seen him on and off consider quitting, and, depending on how this inter-high turns out, he might quit for good. On the other hand, he might follow Kinjou and head to Yonan, as I think to see them interacting with each other as former captains will be really interesting, as well as him interacting with Arakita and Machimiya, although the latter has quit cycling as we know.

- Aoyagi, I highly doubt he’ll quit cycling no matter what happens this inter-high, especially after improving so much. I feel very strongly he might either get invited to a strong college or will aim to go to one. And sadly. I honestly think Aoyagi and Teshima will separate after high school, to strengthen themselves individually and become rivals. Although if he and Teshima stay together then I’m not complaining. Please Watanabe

- Koga is also most likely going to a high-ranking school, or even abroad. He has the skills for it and would be quite happy to become rivals to his old teammates. Although where in the world he would go, I have no idea.

Hakone

- Ashikiba, while I would love him to go to Yonan because we’ve been starved of him and Arakita interaction, think he would either go to Meisou or somewhere else. I would say that Shinkai and Fukutomi where his favourite senpai’s, and I think he feels indebted to them and wants to ride with them as he wasn’t able to as a second year. However, he could also branch out on his own and possibly want to become more self-dependent. I also like the Idea of him, Kuroda and Izumida going to three different places and becoming rivals. 

- I think Kuroda is most definitely going to Yonan, we’ve seen how he acts with Arakita, and I think he wants to be with him again and someday overtake him. Also, Teshima and Kuroda being best buds sound great, like imagine the shit they would get up to.

- For Izumida, I think Meisou??? Is the only option for him??? I really can’t see him going anywhere else. He would follow Shinkai to the ends of the earth honestly and I think, along with Ashikiba the parallel of captain and ace sprinter, goes to Meisou would be really cool. On the other hand, he might decide to follow his own path rather than keep following Shinkai’s shadow.

KyoFushi

- Yamaguchi and Mizuta are probably, either gonna quit and go straight into work or follow Ishigaki to wherever he went. They are both rather fond of him as we’ve seen from before lizard man arrived. I think Yamaguchi is gonna lean more towards quitting, but I still think he’ll go to the same college as Ishigaki. Mizuta may continue cycling, but he may not go to college and go to a local club or something.

Hiroshima

- Errr, Urakubo and Niwazuma may go to Yonan??? And Higashimura may go somewhere else. The other two, Shinon and Satozaki I have no clue since they get barely any screentime. 

So yeah, I’m interested to hear your thoughs on this as well so please send me asks about this cuz I’m curious.
