Explaining Periods to The Sullys
synopsis: reader explains what a period is to the Sully kids (with the help of kiri)
pairings: neteyam x reader implied couple(aged up), reader x sully kids + spider
genre: idk, informative??/ comedy???
author's note: you guys didn't forget about dr. max patel, right? I barely see him in anyone's writing. proofread once
warnings: mention of female bodies(?), periods, blood, slight gun mention(nothing violent), maybe a few swear words, slight suggestive comment, slight stabbing threat(threat was made as a joke- calm down guys)
word count: 1.6k words
"OOF" you rubbed your forehead as your butt had just landed on the floor.
"I'm always forgetting that my avatar form is taller than my human body" you sighed as you got up.
"This is the third time this week that you've bumped into that doorpost" Norm snickered before hitting himself on the light bulb above him that was illuminating the lab.
"Crap" he murmured, rubbing the top of his head in pain.
"Ha!" you let out in retaliation.
Spider and Lo'ak laughed at the scene unfolding while Kiri and Neteyam rolled their eyes.
"Anyways, what was it that you kids wanted from the lab?" Norm squinted at the Sully kids, weary of their intentions.
"We just wanted to see where it is that y/n does all of her experiments" Lo'ak responded as he played around with the light fixtures, flipping through some different light colors illuminating a plant.
"Whatever, just don't break anything or the top scientist with have my head for any more expenses." Norm warned
"It's alright, Norm. I'm watching them. They won't break anything. And if they do, I won't take Lo'ak hunting again." You reassured him.
"Hey, what do I have to do with that! You know if you don't teach me how to use one of those rifle thingies then I'll have to wait for my dad. And you know how that is. The last time he taught me was months ago, he's been too busy teaching Neteyam." Lo'ak side eyed his older brother.
"Pff, it's not my fault that you're not responsible enough and that dad gets nervous every time you have a gun in your hands." Neteyam shot back.
"But-"
"Then you'll just have to stop touching everything you see in the lab, Lo'ak. You see? Easy peasy. Problem solved. Then you won't break anything and I can give you your next lesson tomorrow." You patted Lo'ak's back and gave Norm a reassuring smile. 'Don't worry,' you mouthed and turned around, focusing your attention on the Sully kids.
"So, what's the plan?" you tilted your head in question.
"Well, I've gotta get a new oxygen tank for my mask and-" Spider headed for the cabinets
"SPIDER, are you for real?"
"What?" he shook his shoulder in question.
"You're still using those crappy RDA masks that need a wire and oxygen tank and all of that. I thought Norm gave you the new ones, from my research company."
"You own a company?" Max teased as raised his eyebrows at you.
"No... you know what I mean. I mean the science department that I'm part of. The new scientists that came to Pandora after your disastrous RDA was kicked out." You shot a look at the doctor.
"Really, you didn't have to go that far..."
"Oh, lighten up Max." you patted his shoulders. "Anyways, where are those new masks? Spider needs one, he's still using those outdated ones."
"Really, those old masks shouldn't even work anymore." Max shook his head and handed Spider a mask, "Here you go, kid."
"I thought Norm gave him one." Max crossed his arms while conversing.
"Nah, I guess Norm's been too distracted with the Na'vi school he took over after Grace" You shrugged.
"Yea... well, see you later guys, I have some more research to work on." he waved before walking away.
"So, Spider, let's get this thing on. All you have to do is take off all of those wires and that old mask. Next, just put this one on like you did the old one and adjust it and it should start working immediately." You helped Spider with the process while Kiri visited her mother's avatar body.
"No tank or anything?" Spider questioned.
"Nope, this has a little filter thing that automatically filters out the carbon and nitrogen inside the mask. No more heavy tank for you to use." You threw the old air tank to the disposal pile and was headed towards one of your plants before being interrupted by Lo'ak.
"Hey y/n, what's this?" Lo'ak held up a packet of pills.
"Lo'ak, put that back." Neteyam scolded before snatching the pills from his hand and placing it back on your table.
"It says, birth-control," Lo'ak scrunched his eyebrows while reading the words on the wrapper.
"Take once a day to prevent pregnancy..."Spider read aloud before putting the pills back.
"Woah..." Lo'ak and Spider let out in unison before giving you and Neteyam looks.
"Are you guys...doing ummm...having errr" Lo'ak stumbled as tried to get the words out of his mouth.
"First of all, that's none of your business! Second, those pills aren't even for my avatar body. They're for my human body, and not for what you think it is."
"Then for what?" Spider raised his eyebrows at you.
"They're for my period. But only for my human body because my avatar doesn't get periods." You sighed in having to explain periods to fifteen-year-old boys.
"What's a period?" Lo'ak asked.
"Women things." Kiri responded as she rolled her eyes at her brother's nosiness.
"And how would you know? You're a na'vi." Spider interrogated.
"Because girls talk to girls about things they don't talk to boys about. Duh." Kiri shot back.
"So, what is it?" Lo'ak waved his hands in question.
"Yea, what's a, um- a period? Isn't that the little dot that goes at the end of a sentence? At least that's what Norm taught me..." Spider trailed off.
"Yea, you're partially correct, Spider," you gave a small nod as you thought about how you were going to explain things.
"But umm.. I'm talking about a different type of period called menstruation. It's when a female human bleeds for 5-7 days straight each month." you let out as you saw Spider's and Lo'ak's faces change from curiosity to shock.
"L M F A O- Is that how you spell it? FIVE TO SEVEN DAYS STRAIGHT?? You've got to be kidding me. You don't expect us to believe that, right? I mean, sometimes Spider and I do dumb things but you don't expect us to be stupid enough to fall for that, right?" Lo'ak simply stared at you, waiting for a response.
"No, she's right. You guys could definitely learn a thing or two about humans." Neteyam rolled his eyes at his younger brother's ignorance.
"Wait, wait, wait," Spider held his arms out in shock, "You actually bleed for up to a week and don't die? How the hell do you not die?"
"And why do you bleed for that long? And from where are you bleeding?" Lo'ak pitched in.
"She's bleeds from her pu-"
"Kiri." Neteyam warned.
"What? It's true. Might as well be blunt with these two skxawngs." Kiri rolled her eyes again.
"So basically, when a human female starts getting more physically mature, sorta like coming of age.. Her body starts preparing for pregnancy every month. It basically lines the uterus and gets ready for a baby. When the body sees that there is no baby, the uterus starts shedding it's lining for about 5-7 days until it's cleaned up. The shedding comes out in blood and that's what causes the bleeding."
"..."
"What?" You cocked your head in question.
"So basically, because you didn't get knocked up, your body bleeds?" Lo'ak squints his eyes, trying to understand the information he was just given.
"What's so hard about that?" Spider shrugged.
"WH- WHAT'S SO HARD ABOUT THAT?! Are you guys kidding me or what?" You mouth drops at the nonsense you hear coming from the younger boy's mouth.
"You bimbos, it's not just bleeding. It involves many symptoms such as heavy cramping, back pain, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, mood swings, headaches, appetite changes , and more." Kiri stated as she crossed her arms.
"So the symptoms of a cold, big deal." Spider spat out, trying to minimize the severity of everything.
"Oh I'm sorry, did you just say big deal? Maybe I should put a fucking knife in your stomach to see if that's a big deal or not because that's what the cramps feel like. Or maybe, better... I should kick you in the fucking balls, right?" You lashed out at the boy in front of you.
"Damn, chill, he didn't mean it, right, Spider?"Lo'ak tried to calm the situation, "Maybe she's on her period right now..." he whispered.
"Avatars don't have periods you dingbat" Neteyam let out.
"Well maybe her human form is experiencing cramps in the link pod and so the emotions are traveling through the conscious connection and that's why she's so cranky." Spider stepped back, not trying to get on your bad side.
"..."
You only blinked in response as Kiri and Neteyam bursted out laughing.
"What in the name of eywa..."
"I've never heard so much bullshit come out of someone's mouth before." Neteyam shook his head at the human boy's imagination. "You know, y/n told me that humans usually read a big guide book before joining the avatar program... well maybe you should read one on human biology. It's only fitting since you're ehh, you know..." Neteyam trailed off.
"Ha, I'm glad I wasn't the one to say something stupid this time" Lo'ak applauded himself.
"Nah, you too Lo'ak. How about you read it with Spider so you can both giggle at the pictures and whatever shit you two happen to read" you turned away from the boys as you went back to examining the plants you were experimenting on.
"Does she really bleed from her va-" Lo'ak was cut off.
"And for a week straight..." Spider chimed in.
"Shut up!" Kiri's voice rang through your ears as you quietly giggled to yourself.

Hey! Can I ask a one shot where lo'ak goes hunting at night and finds a newborn abandoned babygirl about to be attacked by a creature, and he saves her and soothes her crying by rocking her gently on his chest? Then maybe he could bring her to his parents and the family would adopt her, and lo'ak could not leave her side (always holding/kissing/cuddling her) since the day he found her and they would become an adorable sibling duo?
Note: So... I'm writing it as a reader one shot.... which it isn't really a one shot that I'm used to, I feel like I'm suck at this, but oh well, hope it turned out okay and it's just me feeling it 😉
Note 2: And didn't know where to stop at this, so.... 😑
The Youngest Sully
Pairing: Sully family x Adopted!daughter!reader
Masterlist (requests are currently open for now)
On the day you were found out there, a baby screaming which attracted not only Jake Sully and his son, Lo'ak, to your location but also creatures, which one of them was a viperwolf.
That creature would have eaten you if Lo'ak and Jake didn't show up and got rid of it. You wouldn't stop crying until Lo'ak picked you up and held you against his chest.
On that day, his life and his family changed.
You seemed to have been only a few days old and with no one claiming you, Lo'ak's family took you in.
With Tuk been older than you by three years, you were the youngest Sully. You grew up to have a close bond with everyone in your adoptive family, especially with Lo'ak.
Despite Neytiri and Jake weren't your true parents, you were sharing Neytiri's gentle and nurturing spirit, and taking care of small animals and plants that you would come across. But you were also sharing Jake's adventurous spirit and love for exploration.
You had a mischievous streak, enjoying pushing boundaries and testing the limits, much to the dismay of your older siblings who often find themselves having to rescue you.
Neytiri was a nurturing and caring mother, she always made sure to spend as much time with you as much as possible, playing around, teaching you things, and taking you on adventures in the forest. She was overly protective of you, always making sure you stay safe and are not put in any unnecessary danger. Your bond with Neytiri was very strong, with you looking up to your mother as a hero.
Your relationship with Jake was of a father and daughter of course. Jake was always there to support you and encourage your curious nature. With you, he was patient and understanding, always taking the time to listen to your thoughts and concerns, just like with Kiri and Tuk. Despite his tough exterior, Jake had a soft spot for you and would do anything to make you happy.
Neteyam was a role model for you, setting a good example and always looking after you. He show a lot of patience towards you. You would enjoy spending time with Neteyam, following him around, and trying to imitate his actions sometimes. He would be like another dad to you.
Lo'ak, been the one who sometimes causes trouble, have always been cautious when you were around and since that day he and his father found you, he hardly really let you out of his sight. But when he wandered off, he made sure you weren't following him around to dangerous places.
But he couldn't always stop you, because just like Tuktirey, you were bubbly and energetic, and always eager to follow your siblings on their escapades on Pandora.
You and Lo'ak shared a very strong bond since that day he found you, at every cry he was there to calm you down; rocking you gently to his chest, holding your hand (especially on your first try on walking), cuddling you when you couldn't sleep.
Kiri was a constant companion, showing you Pandora and teaching you about the ways of the Na’vi. She was a nurturing and protective older sister, often helping to take care of you and looking out for your well-being. You were sharing her strong connection to nature and animals, always looking for new creatures to add to your collection of treasured trinkets and mementos.
Tuk, been older than you by three years, took her responsibility as a big sister seriously, which in your parents' eyes was very adorable. Since you learned how to walk (and ran) she followed you around to make sure you were safe. She, like your older siblings, was very protective over you.

// Imagine - Being one of the tallest Na’vi they’ve met Pt.1 //
> (Neteyam, Lo’ak, Kiri) < Part 2
> Metkayinan!Reader (Gn terms used, they/them) <
> What happens when they meet a Na’vi quite a bit taller than themselves. <
> Neteyam <
He’s a tall boy for his age, gets it from his father mainly
However, seeing you emerge from the water that first day almost had him stuck in place.
And it just kept going, watching you rise and rise.
Finally with your full frame in view his neck craned up once more, easily standing around a foot taller than him.
This was . . strange . . definitely. He was used to some others being taller, namely the elders. But one his age? Stunned immediately.
He could barely pay attention when you introduced yourself, one of the student animal caretakers in their clan.
Lo’ak seemed to notice as well, roughly shoving Neteyam’s shoulder. Dragging him out of the quickly spiraling train of thought.
You’d addressed him? When? The startled look shines on his face.
“Neteyam? I asked if you’ve ever taken care of water animals before?” Smiling down at him, you gently grabbed his arm.
As you led the group down towards the quarry, you gradually felt Neteyam tense under your hand. Assuming it was out of discomfort, you swiftly let go with a look of apology on your features.
Quickly, Neteyam turned to you, having noticed the lack of body heat.
“It was okay- Your hand I mean. But if you were uncomfortable it’s totally fine too. Yeah, alright.” Said arm leaned up awkwardly shifting his pelts.
Lo’ak’s cackling at this reaction could be heard from a ways behind him, he was definitely going to hear about this later at their home.
You turned to him, gently leaning up to swat the various bugs away from his ears.
“Okay, I’ll keep that in mind in bigger crowds,” The glint in your eyes screamed sincerity despite the sarcastic tone, “I wouldn’t want to lose you in one.”
His face burned at the light joke, because it must’ve been a joke
Wasn’t it?
> Lo’ak <
He’s lean, he knows that. Being on the average side for majority of everything was normal for him.
But being short compared to someone else, that was out of place to him.
Yes, his family had some height on him. But he wasn’t short in comparison, he was average.
Witnessing how your body kept expanding walking past him though.
He was definitely short in comparison to you.
His legs swiftly making their way over to his siblings, now he had a mission.
“Ey, bro!” The whisper shout alarming Neteyam of his presence. A look of confusion clouding Kiri’s face at the rough address. “Who’s that?” Lightly motioning over his shoulder, as to not draw direct attention.
“That’s (Y/n), they’re monitoring the animals right now, I think it’s a learning experience though.” Kiri’s eyes shifted to your long stature, awkwardly attempting to feed a school of fish.
That was, until they witnessed you drop the feeding bag into the water, assumingly on accident if your rushed gathering of the feed was anything to go by.
“Well,” Lo’ak turned to his brothers confident look, “are you going to play heroic savior or stand there?” Snarky tone aside, he was right.
Lo’ak quietly hyped himself up, pushing back his shoulders and taking his chance to meet this hopefully friendly giant.
“Need any help?” The new voice surprised you, momentarily pausing your frantic motions. Looking up from your crouch, the darker blue skin caught you off-guard.
“Uhm, yeah- if you don’t care too.” Uncertainty very clear in those words.
His body hunkered down, quickly grabbing as much feed as he can hold before dumping it back into the bag.
One thing he hadn’t accounted for, was the greedy mama fish aiming straight for his tail
A loud very manly shout rang out, easily echoing the beach front, as a startled Lo’ak scrambled his way out of the bank.
Thankfully, that had been the last of the lost feed, tying the bag and setting it down before crawling out yourself.
His eyes dragged up, finally meeting their target.
“Hey, I’m Lo’ak, your feeding assistance this morning.” Obnoxiously bowing his torso, as if among royalty.
“Yeah, that may be needed today,” Your hand slowly reaching into the water again, “If this mama has anything to say about it!” You lifted the avid fish out of the water briefly, holding her over Lo’ak’s head.
“NO!” His legs rapidly clearing towards the other end of the beach side.
He can handle being short to another person, he’ll slowly get used to it
Better to keep that person to only you for now
> Kiri <
Kiri tried not to focus on physical traits, with her being picked on much since arriving she saw focusing on these things as rude.
It’s kind of hard not to focus when you entered their circle though, being mostly leg and muscle.
Your face the strongest color of teal she had seen yet among these people, and it was fascinating, contrasting size even among your own people.
Her eyes showed this curiosity, watching you maneuver yourself as to not impose to much on their space, as she caught the smallest glimpse of insecurity in those moves.
Though she didn’t understand why. You were a beauty to her, even if she won’t tell you directly.
But, she definitely could indirectly, she thought as she adjusted he seating next to you.
“Hi, I’m Kiri” She stuck out her arm for greeting.
This was her first test, whether or not you were a kind person upon meeting.
It’s not a secret many of the villagers did not like, or initially trust her family. Either for being hybrid, or from another clan, she wondered if you would shun away her hello for those reasons as well.
To her surprise, you met her arm with a solid grip.
“Hello, I’m (Y/n), I mainly take care of the wildlife here.” You smiled down at her, as she sat astonished at how you could possibly feel insecure about your being.
Yes you were tall, but kind to her and her siblings when many were not. And, set on learning with care rather than war.
Slowly she stood, having let go of your hand but motioning you to follow.
“Come, I have some questions of this place.”
As you made your way behind her it truly hit you how much larger you were, standing up only made her head reach your elbow joint.
Much about you height bothered you, always seeming to take up too much space without meaning too.
Not to mention the remarks from other villagers, deeming you too significant to only research. ‘You should be training to defend the people, you were built for such’.
You didn’t wish for war or fighting, as the wildlife was your dream responsibility.
So, the sudden light tap atop your shoulder definitely startled you, looking up and trying your hardest not to laugh at the scene before you.
It was Kiri, sitting top a lifted rock, gesturing to the ground bellow.
“Please sit, I’m very curious of your wildlife. It’s very beautiful.” She motions towards the distant water.
As you sit, Kiri looks towards you, her plan having worked as she was now eye to eye with you.
“Now,” You smiled, grateful for the new position she had managed.
“Where to begin...”

AVATAR : WAY OF WATER with a Moth from Sky Children of the light. Pt. One.1
Prologue - Part One.2
Inspired by @dizzythediasy
Characters included : The Sully Family.
Pronouns used : They / Them
Note(s) : Does anybody want a taglist?
I know nothing of what the player's characters are or how they act, please give me some tips cause I'm just guessing based on foggy memory. Na'vi is in bold.
"Hey, hey..." Kiri quietly spoke, remembering her mother's videos and seeing if English would work on the supposed human. She slowly held her hands out to show she isn't a threat, her steps were expertly gentle against the soft ground making little to no noise. The child before the Na'vi siblings seemed to have their eyes trained on her, only moving to snap their head towards her siblings whenever anybody moved too suddenly.
"Neteyam, where are you and your siblings?" Jake's voice rang from the intercom, said Na'vi boy jumped in shock. The child whimpered and Kiri snapped her head back to glare in annoyance at Neteyam, who slowly backed away. Once far enough away to see them but not be heard, he moved his hand to the device on his neck and answered his father.
"We found something weird, we think it's a sky person. They look young and scared, what should we do?" Even if they weren't visible, Neteyam knew his parents well enough to tell Neytiri and Jake were discussing what to do.
"Get to Hell's gate their oxygen mask might run out soon, how many of you are there and how far away are you from home?" Jake instructed, clearly suspicious but still compassionate enough to worry for the child's safety.
"Lo'ak, Kiri and Tuk are here, we're only a few minutes away from Hell's Gate, dad-." Neteyam sucked in a breath, nervousness overtaking him. "They don't have a mask on, well, they do? It's not what they usually look like." With the limited noise his siblings were making a silent conversation was evident.
"Be as fast as you can, me and your mother are on our way." Jake ordered.
"Yes sir." Neteyam nodded, looking back behind the tree to see Lo'ak in the place he previously was, having not moved and already heard everything from the intercom. Tuk now right behind Kiri who was right next to the child, holding out her hand as a sign of friendship and mutual trust.
"Come with us?" She whispered, putting her hands towards her, her siblings and then the forest. The child looked around at the Na'vi before them and held out their own small hand that was enveloped by Kiri's.
She slowly stood up, bringing the the child up with them and catching them when they seemed to be wobbly on their feet, stumbling and letting go of her hand to cling onto Kiri's leg like a lifeline. Tuk smiled showing her sharp fangs, her innocent eyes bore into the child's as she approached them, since English seemed to work, she tried her best to remember the few times she payed attention to any English her father or siblings taught her.
"Tuk I am!" She pointed to herself, then to the child. "You are?" The child looked confused, pointing to themself and making awkward cooing noises. "They can't talk?" Tuk look up at Kiri who shrugged, gently pulling the child along as they clung to her leg.
"We need to get to Hell's Gate, dad and mom are already on their way." Lo'ak whispered to Kiri who nodded, changing the direction of walking to go towards the desired location. The creature cooed and switched walking with them all, Tuk skipped happily along next to them and grabbed Lo'ak's hand on her right and Neteyam on her left, both of which rolled their eyes and laughed.
The child's eyes were wide in adoration for the flora around them, shuffled steps and a sharp gaze observed the bioluminescant forest. Childish giggles came from Tuk as she noticed the creature almost lagging behind to stare at everything, jumping around as her older brothers smiled at the adorable sight. The walk wasn't too far, but the inexperienced at living child was letting out heavy breaths as they tightened their hold on Kiri with a whine. All siblings shared worried glances.
"Are you okay?" She tilted her head in confusion as the child tip toed, holding their arms out and doing a grabby motion with their hands. She 'oh'd!' with understanding. Wrapping her arms around the child and lifting them so their head was gently resting on her shoulder, their legs wrapped around her waist so they wouldn't fall off.
Kiri began lightly jogging to catch up with her siblings that were now a few meters ahead. Once they reached Hell's each of them slowed their pace upon hearing an argument.
"What if they are a spy?! First that demon's child and now this? You are endangering our children." Neytiri harshly spoke, glaring holes into Jake as he gently squeezed her hand.
"You took a chance with me, I was human once but you taught me. Now we have this family and I have you." He gently whispered, moving his hands to her shoulders and putting his forehead gently against hers. Neytiri sucked in a breath, before she could properly respond Tuk yanked her older brothers hands and dragged them over. Both almost stumbling over and letting go of her hands in shock.
"Mama! Look! Look!" She excitedly pointed to the child Kiri held protectively in her arms that seemed to have fallen asleep, the motions of walking lulling them into a silent peaceful state. Neytiri snapped her eyes over to Jake who began walking towards the young one, confusion evident from his face to his body language.
This is rlly short cause I'll probably edit it anyway.

hey, i’m new to tumblr and this is my first ever ask so forgive me if this is confusing in any way or i broke a rule or something, but could i please request hcs for kiri and neteyam (separately) x a fem metkayina reader who thinks their small, fluffy tail is cute and is always touching it and playing with it (but respects if they don’t like it ofc)? thanks! ^_^ feel free to only write one character or change it so you’re more comfortable writing it if you want! also I am so glad for your blog, literally no one writes for kiri 😭
Neteyam and Kiri Tail HeadCannons!!
ღ PLAYING WITH THEIR TAILS + HOW THEY MESS WITH YOU WITH THEIR TAILS
❀ Quicknote: i saw your request and i stopped everything i was doing and started writing it 😭 LIKE IT WAS SUCH A CUTE IDEA I COULDNT HAVE IT SIT THERE so i wrote AND HERE YOU AREE ALSO i could be the blog that feeds you kiri content u need 💪💪
✰ Neteyam
When you noticed how different you and Neteyam’s tail were, you couldn’t not mess with it.
When Neteyam isn’t paying attention to his surroundings, you sneak up behind him, grab his tail and tickle his cheek with the fur at the end. Neteyam would always jump and his tail would literally go rigid. You poke it all the time whenever it goes still like that.
You tugged on his tail before. It was really uncalled for. It was curled up, it looked like a drooping flower and you were just curious about what would happen if you pulled it. So you did. Neteyam yelped, quickly turning to look behind him. His teeth were bared out and ears were drawn back. His expression fell when he noticed it was you. “Why did you pull on my tail?” His tail was tucked in between his legs. “It was calling out for me.” You say. He was so quick with it that you didn’t notice he was behind you until he pulled on your tail. You jumped forward, hands protectively coming to cover your tail. “Why did you pull my tail?” Now it was your turn to ask. Neteyam smiled at you, shrugging. “It was calling out for me.” He mocked.
His tail curls around you. You could be resting on Neteyam’s shoulder, seconds away from falling asleep, suddenly you feel something tickle your thigh. Looking down, it’s Neteyam’s tail curling around you. It occasionally moves too, maybe moving inwards or outwards. But it’s so cute to see and Neteyam doesn’t even notice his tail is doing that.
One thing that he does is wrapping his tail on your waist. You and Neteyam could be talking to someone together and randomly, you’ll feel his tail snake around your waist and tug you closer. You look over to him and Neteyam is smugly smiling at you.
“Your tail is so cool,” You tell him, eyes following it’s every movement. “Thank you.” He gets shy under your praise and you can tell because his tail went still when you complimented him. He has never been told that his tail looked cool, but now since he’s had, he wants to hear more coming from you.
Needless to say, you love his tail and you find great joy messing with it and he loves messing with you with his tail.
✰ Kiri
The same way you're fascinated by her tail, she's fascinated with yours.
You love pretending to dust off your face with her tail. She always looks at you weirdly for it but you just love how it tickles your face.
Same thing with Neteyam, you pull on her tail. But instead of asking you why you pulled her tail, she declares war and grabs yours. You and her are caught running around the beach, trying to pull each other’s tails. It always ends up with you or her toppling each other down to the floor, the person who’s pinned to the floor wins because they have access to the other one's tail.
Huffing out, you look down to see Kiri smirking at you. Her hand is nowhere to be seen when suddenly, you feel your tail getting pulled. “I win!” She winks at you. You roll over and flop to the floor beside her, groaning in annoyance. “That’s not fair! You tackled me.” You whine. She laughs, tail cheekily moving behind her. “As if you don’t do the same thing!”
She playfully slaps you with her tail. You could be talking to her when suddenly all you see is a blue blur before feeling your face get tickled by something. Blinking, you take a step back before seeing Kiri giggling to herself. “Did you slap me with your tail?” She tries to play dumb. “No…I would never.”
Like Neteyam, she wraps her tail around you. But it’s not only on your waist, she coils it around your arms and legs. You never asked why she does that, but you take it as her hugging you but just with her tail.
When you and Kiri are cuddling, Kiri has her tail wrapped around you. Immediately after she has you in her arms, her tail is coming to encase you in her hold. You love it, you feel so protected whenever she does that. It’s like you and her are in your own little world.
“Your tail is so cute.” You comment, wrapping it loosely around your arm. “I love how I can mess with it.” Her tail twitches. “I wish I could do the same with yours.” You feel her hand grab your tail, a grunt leaving her lips. “It is very heavy.” She says. “Maybe it’s because you have no muscles.” You tease, pointing at her flabby arms. She rolls her eyes, scoffing playfully. “I can pick my own tail with ease.” You pick your tail up to demonstrate. “No need to brag.”
You love her tail just as much as you love her. That’s something you tell her all the time and she’s alway rolls her eyes. “Why do you love my tail so much?” That’s a question you hear everyday. Your response to that is; “It’s just so small and cute!”

a/n: THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for all the love shown on my other stories, i absolutely adore seeing how much you guys enjoy them. hugs and kisses for everyone 🫶🏽
part two here !!
̩͙✧ ₊˚. ೃ
y/n and her brother, ao’nung, were hanging out with his best friend, rotxo, when the sully family arrived out of the blue.
she walked behind her brother and spotted the dark blue skinned na’vi. she tried to look at them closer out of curiosity once they were on the beach with them but ao’nung slapped the back of head to stop her.
“ow!”
“don’t go near them.” he scolded. she mocked him and went to stand by his side.
she she looked toward them again, she spotted a pretty girl her age, studying the village persons while tugging a fishnet around her.
y/n smiled softly before kiri turned to spot her. her expression softened but she quickly looked away when a tsurak flew over the family.
they ducked in fear and looked over to see it was y/n’s father, chief tonowari.
he landed in the water and cautiously made his way toward the family while still walking with pride.
they talked for a while, ronal insulted the family, ao’nung made fun of them, but y/n was too distracted to pay attention.
she didn’t even pay attention when her mother started to insult the children, calling them demons and showing off their disfigurements.
well, she didn’t until she caught a glimpse of kiri’s face.
they calmed down and tonowari managed to convince ronal to let them stay.
and he later assigned his children to teaching the newcomers children how to swim and live in the water.
“this is ao’nung, tsireya, and my youngest, y/n.” he said proudly.
“thank you. thank you- uh, this is my son neteyam, kiri, our daughter..” jake sully pointed to kiri.
y/n smiled at her and kiri shyly returned it.
“my son lo’ak, and our youngest daughter tuk.” he patted tuk’s head gently and she smiled brightly.
tsireya offered to help take their things to their new home and y/n was about to go with her.
tonowari held her back for a moment though, with a stern look.
“i will only tell you this once. be nice and do not cause trouble.”
she sighed with irritation.
“i mean it.”
“you always assume the worst of me, father-“
“y/n.”
“okay! okay, fine. i promise.” she shrugged. he nods and sends her off to help the family.
the second y/n turned around, she rolled her eyes with the most annoyed face any teenager could make.
she made her way to kiri’s ikran, watching the creature with caution.
“hi.. uh, i’m y/n.” she said to kiri.
“i know. nice to meet you.” kiri nodded.
“here, i can help.” y/n took a heavy bag filled with kiri’s extra clothes and accessories from her hand.
kiri smiled softly. “thank you.”
“follow us. we’ll take you to your new home.” she nodded.
they walk across the woven bounds walkways to an empty marui. kiri hesitated while entering the marui, seeing how different it was to her old home.
“do you not like it?” y/n asked kiri.
“it’s okay. just very different:” kiri shrugged,
“you will get used to it soon. uh, where should i put this?” she asked kiri.
kiri shrugs and looks around the little corners in the marui. they settled on one and they put kiri’s stuff down.
“i should go. we’ll be in the reef later for your lessons. i’ll see you there, right?” y/n asked, trying to hide her excitement.
“yeah. sure.” kiri shrugs, not looking up.
y/n frowned a bit. she didn’t want kiri to be disappointed with her new home.
“i know you probably miss your old home but you’re going to love it here in the reef.” she said to her quietly.
kiri looks up at her. “i hope so.”
y/n smiled and left the marui after briefly greeting kiri’s parents. she followed her sister to the beach near the coral reefs.
her and her siblings and rotxo waited around on the beach for the children to arrive.
“i can’t believe we got stuck with the forest freaks.” ao’nung grumbled.
“shut up!” y/n snapped while sitting atop a boulder.
he glared at his sister. “how would you like if you moved to a whole new place and the kids there made fun of you?” she grumbled.
“well, it’s not me, so who cares.” ao’nung muttered.
“hey, she’s right.” tsireya scolded.
“whatever. this whole thing sucks.” he muttered to rotxo.
he laughed quietly when the silly kids arrived.
“hi!” tsireya greeted.
they all waved and mutter quiet greeting while tuk was so eager to say hi to them.
they told the kids about the reef and the animals that lived within it and the metkayina friends didn’t think twice about diving into the water.
the group swam into the open waters with animals and coral making their home shine with color and beauty.
as they swam deeper and deeper, closer to the ocean floor, they noticed the omaticaya kids kept floating near the surface.
y/n looked over at her friend, rotxo.
“what’s wrong with them?” he signed.
y/n simply shrugged and looked back up at them.
tsireya signed to them, “come swim with us.”
they held out theirs hands with confused faces and y/n couldn’t help but laugh.
as she stared up at them, she noticed that kiri wasn’t with the two older boys and her little sister.
the friends swam up to the surface to talk to them.
“what’s wrong? are you tired?” y/n asked them.
“you’re too fast. wait for us!” tuk whined, wiping her face and breathing heavily.
“aw!” y/n muttered.
ao’nung and rotxo caught up with his sisters.
“you are not good divers.” ao’nung said.
“maybe good at swimming through trees, but..”
tsireya slapped the back of his head before he could continue.
“you’re just not used to it. we’ll teach you how to swim like us.” y/n said to them.
“alright but what’s this.. finger talk? we don’t know what you’re saying.” neteyam asked, waving his fingers.
“sign language. we can teach you that too.” tsireya said to him.
“wait, guys, where’s kiri?” rotxo asked the group.
her brother started to look around them.
“kiri?”
“where’s kiri?”
y/n looked around the surface and kiri wasn’t anywhere there. she dived into the water and swam to the coral reefs near the village.
she found kiri swimming with an ilu and smiling while petting it.
y/n smiled at how pretty she looked and swam closer to her.
once she approached her, she waved her hand to grab her attention. she waved her hand, gesturing to kiri for her to follow her and the two girls swam back up to the surface.
“i found her. she’s okay.” y/n breathed out once they were with the rest of the group.
the kids ended up spending the days together, teaching them to hold their breath, teaching them sign language, and about the animals and how to ride them.
y/n’s crush on kiri grew larger by the day, and so did kiri’s.
one day, kiri wanted to be on her own. not in a lonely, depressing, no-one-likes-me way.
in a cute aesthetic alone girly way. she laid in the shallow waters by the beach, facing down and watching the crabs hide under the sand.
when ao’nung and some of his friends were wandering around the beach, they found kiri in her position.
kiri was entranced by the animals until the bullies came to ruin it. she heard them say something and lifted her head up to see who was saying things.
“hm? did you say something?” she asked kindly, standing up to look at them properly.
ao’nung’s smirk grew. “are you some kind of.. freak?” he asked.
his other friend continued teasing. “he asked if you were a freak.”
the others laughed under their breaths.
kiri scoffs. “no..”
she tried walking past them but they surrounded her.
“are you sure? i mean, you’re not even real na’vi.” ao’nung chuckled.
“just look at your hands.” he pointed to kiri’s hand.
kiri tried ignoring them but they wouldn’t get out of her way.
ao’nung then got a hold of her hand. “i mean, look at them!” he laughed tauntingly.
kiri glared at the boy and snatched her hand back. they started making fun of her other attributes before her brother come up to the beach to tell them to back up.
y/n had just finished hunting and was making her way down the beach, from the far side of the village.
then she saw her brother and his friends pulling lo’ak’s tail and pushing him around, calling the siblings names. she grew incredibly furious.
she dropped her things on the sand and rushed over.
she pushed her brother off of lo’ak.
“what’s wrong with you?” she scolded.
“y/n, go home. we’re just having some fun.” he said, rolling his eyes.
“it doesn’t look like they’re having fun.” she responded.
she turned to look at kiri. “are you okay? are you?” she asked lo’ak.
lo’ak scoffs and steps away from the friends to stand by kiri.
“we’re fine.” kiri said.
“listen to your big brother, little girl.” one of ao’nung’s friends said. he shoved her shoulder and she glared at him.
“don’t touch me.” she hissed
“what are you going to do? cry?” he teased, pushing her once more.
“you’re friends with these freaks now?” another asked y/n.
ao’nung stepped in. “alright that’s enough.” he shoved them away from his sister.
he looks down at her. “just go home. you’ll probably make things worse for us anyways.”
she rolls her eyes. she looks at the siblings who were now joined by neteyam, who was out swimming and heard all the yelling before coming to see them.
“come on. let’s get you home.” y/n sighed out,
they started to walk off the beach with y/n behind them and the friends started taunting the siblings as they walked away.
y/n heard all the hurtful things coming out of ao’nung’s mouth and was disappointed. she had looked up to him her whole life and then she finds out that this is the kind of boy he wants to be.
“she’s a freak just like that one.”
y/n sighs and turned around. the one who most annoyed her was the friend that looked like rotxo. but was uglier.
“what’d you say?” she slowly made her way to the boy.
“i said you’re. a. fre-“
before he could finish, y/n threw her fist into the boy’s jaw, making him stumble backward, and then another time. this time and uppercut to the chin, making him fall over.
she shook her hand a bit, feeling her knuckles pulse from hitting him so hard. she looked down and her knuckles were bright red.
“y/n!” a stern voice called out. y/n paused in fear and glanced over to see her father charging over to the group.
they all tried shuffling to get out of tonowari’s way before he looked at the scene in front of him.
the boy’s nose was bleeding and was being held by his friend and the siblings were watching in fear, amusement, and admiration.
in that order. neteyam was scared for y/n, lo’ak thought she was the coolest person ever, and kiri didn’t know whether she wanted to be her or be with her.
“we’re going home.” he said quietly. he stepped aside and y/n started walking down the beach while holding her fist in her other hand.
as y/n walked past kiri, she smiled softly at her before continuing.
once the father and daughter were in their marui, he didn’t waste any time in scolding her.
“what did i tell you? hm?” he asked.
she sighed. “do not cause trouble.”
“but you go ahead and cause trouble anyway.” he grumbled.
she kept her eyes down at her feet, still holding her fist in her other hand.
“you are constantly disobeying my orders. what am i going to do with you?” he sighed angrily.
“father, ao’nung and his friends were making fun of kiri and her family. i was defending them. i didn’t-”
“that doesn’t mean you can hit people. ” he said angrily.
she sighed and looks down.
“you will be punished. no riding your ilu for a month, do you understand?”he said, pointing his finger at her.
y/n looks down at her fist before up at her father again.
“yes, sir.”
tonowari nods leaves the marui for her to be on her own and y/n tries her best to scream quietly.
she didn’t want to be alone at home, so she left and went back to the beach to patch up her fist.
she was struggling the wrap the bandages around her hand and kept cleaning up blood so it would spill everywhere.
“need some help?” someone asked. y/n looks up and sees kiri’s head peeking out through large plants growing out of the sand.
“oh.. kiri, hi.” y/n smiled.
kiri walks over and sits with her legs crossed in front of y/n.
she helped clean the wound before slowly wrapping it.
“you punched that boy.. because of you? right?” kiri started.
“what?”
“you punched him because he called you a freak.” kiri repeated.
“no, i punched him because he called you a freak.” y/n said.
“you didn’t have to do that, you know.” kiri sighs.
“why?” y/n muttered.
“he’s right. i am a freak. you shouldn’t punch people because they’re right.” she said softly.
“kiri, he was not right. you are not a freak because you’re different.” y/n said.
kiri stays looking down at her hand.
“but i’m still different.”
“so? it’s good to be different. do you know how boring it would be if we were all the same?” y/n said, laughing slightly.
kiri laughs along too. she finished up with the bandages and turns y/n’s hand over so her palm is facing up.
“i think your hands are cool.” y/n said.
kiri looks at her with an amusing look. “what? really?”
y/n nods. kiri smiled and looked back down at their hands.
“and i also think it’s cute how you have small fangs.” y/n chuckled.
“that’s a weird compliment.” kiri said looking up.
“i mean what i say.” y/n shrugged.
kiri laughs slightly. “no one’s really said that to me before. my brothers usually make fun of my fangs.”
“why? you’re so cute.” y/n smiled.
kiri’s heart was pounding outside her chest. she never thought of herself as cute until y/n said something.
“you know you don’t have to say.. these things right? i know i’m weird,-“
“kiri, you are not weird. and you are not a freak.” y/n grumbled.
kiri’s eyes widened at her sudden change of tone, making y/n laugh softly.
“i know you think that because you’re born from a human that you’re weird and different and a freak but honestly?.. you’re really cool!”
“huh? how am i cool?” she laughed.
“well, first this hair. it’s so silky and thin.” her hand rose to kiri’s short hair and she fluffed it up and down.
“you don’t have to sit for hours having your hair braided, do you?” she asked kiri, taking her hand back.
“i guess not, but-“
“and your hands! come on, compared to yours, mine are more weird. look.” she put her hand up to kiri’s and they put their palms against each others.
kiri’s hand was slightly bigger with her pinky finger sticking out.
“and what are these? you have hair on your face.” y/n put her fingers up to kiri’s eyesbrows and she traced them with her thumbs on each hand.
“uh- okay, y/n-“ kiri sputtered, pulling her head back slightly.
“so cool! you’re like a super na’vi.” y/n muttered in admiration.
kiri laughs and takes her wrist, taking her hand away from her face. her grip softened and she held y/n’s hand in hers.
“you’re my friend now.” y/n said.
“and it’s important that my friends are comfortable with themselves. and know how to care for themselves.” she continued.
it seemed almost impossible for kiri to look y/n in the eye. she felt that if she would, she’d kiss her and wouldn’t be able to stop.
“it’s important you know who you are. you are not a freak. not a weirdo.” y/n said. every word that poured out of her mouth was true.
kiri breathed out and finally replied. “i’ve been told things like that my entire life.. but i don’t think i have believed it until you said it.” she said, sounding almost surprised.
“why is that, kiri?” y/n asked. she was genuinely curious as to why kiri was just now believing this.
y/n’s face was now just an inch away from kiri’s. she wanted to kiss her but wasn’t sure if she actually should.
neither of them were sure. but they knew they very much wanted to.
kiri’s head mixed with how she should answer y/n and whether she should just kiss her.
they still held each other’s hands and y/n was beginning to lean into her.
“i think it’s because.. i like you. more than i’ve ever liked anyone.” kiri said softly. she grew lost in y/n’s bright blue eyes that shined like aquamarine.
y/n’s heart picked up the pace, hearing kiri’s words. she smiled softly before leaning in closer and kissing kiri.
all their problems disappeared in an instance. kiri’s hand went up to y:n’s head where she held it.
they pull away for a moment to look at each other before smiling into another kiss.
y/n’s bandaged hand went to the back of kiri’s neck as she kissed her, feeling ecstatic now that she knew kiri felt the same way.
after years of believing it was bad for kiri to be different, it wasn’t until she met her that she realized that being a freak is not who she truly is.
and it’s time she stopped believing it.

Being Kiri's closest sibling and your family helping with your mental health struggles and the war:
An/ Am sorry if I spell any character names wrong! Please let me know if I do!
Loved this film when I saw it back in early Jan much more than I thought I would, and I'm very glad it struck a chord with me! Was such a good time.
Sorry to ramble.
Kiri is a sweet angel and a comfort for sure. I hope you guys enjoy <3
Tw// some discussion of suicidal thoughts and self-destruction, anxiety. Other than this, just normal avatar violence.
While you're a child of Jake and Neytiri, it doesn't matter, Jake could've sworn you and Kiri came from the same cloth personality wise.
You both just clicked.
He was joyous, as while you got along with Neteyam, there is a friction - he's a fighter, and you're not.
He wants to be the best, you're fine in your own little world.
And Kiri gets that.
She invites you out for walks in the forest. The two of you just exploring and taking in the area around you.
Sometimes though, your thoughts get to you. You feel self conscious. You feel an other. You feel like what you're doing is 'wrong'.
Kiri is always there to help soothe those thoughts.
"There is nothing wrong with it, Y/N. Nothing. You are you, and I love that. Always."
When the humans attack, you are away from each other.
"Kiri! Kiri!!!" You cry out.
"Y/N!" You hear your father call out.
"DAD!"
"Hey, hey, hey. I'm here, baby. I'm here. I've got you. I've got you, buddy. I've got you," he assures you as he holds you, pulling you away from the destruction.
"I'm sorry."
"You have nothing to be sorry for, baby, ok? You scared me is all," you miss when he used to say that before he became hardened by it. Before he became a commander rather than a father.
When you and Kiri reunite, she just holds you, tight. She pulls away and checks you multiple times; but you're out of it. You can't get out a single word.
As Jake becomes more protective and treats you all more like soldiers, Kiri is your rock.
"I'm still here, Y/N. We are," she reminds you, squeezing your hand to try to bring you back to where you are.
Spider is good with you as well. He's a good brother (no matter what your mother says.)
Kiri hates that you lose that explorer part of you. You shut in.
You do your upmost to become a fighter like your brothers.
It doesn't go well.
"Y/N!" Kiri cries out, running to your side when you come back, injured just like Lo'ak.
"Kiri, go help your grandmother," Jake orders.
"But my siblings," she argues.
"Go. Please," he softens his voice a bit, but he also knows the connection you hold with Kiri, and he knows he can't separate the two of you - no matter how life seems to think so; he's glad for it, to have something to ground you. His life as a marine and having brothers in arms fall around him coming back to him. It's why he's so hard on you all; he doesn't want you to face that.
"You need to be more careful, Y/N," Kiri says as she helps you heal. She knows everyone says it - more your mother, your father says it more so through action, but it counts - but she knows her words will get to you.
"I need you to be ok, Kiri," you answer back - always the default answer.
"And I need you to be ok. I need my sibling," as she speaks, she goes from one side of you to the other, knowing it keeps your attention on her because you are doing something - you're active, albeit just a head swinging, it keeps you at the moment, "I want my best friend who would walk with me through the woods --"
"That died when those woods burned," it hits her, hard, and it pains her to hear the coldness of your voice. How you seem to have shut yourself out even from her.
"You don't have to hide," she says, softly.
You look at her - unbeknown to anyone, it was a similarly crushed look that Jake held earlier - "I don't know who I am anymore, Ki."
If your first words hit her heart, those words shattered her soul.
She hugs you, tight.
She makes sure to keep you close as you listen in on your parents arguing.
The whole thing was a blur to you, almost being killed once again, this time by someone who had a vendetta against your family; and Spider being taken in the chaos.
As you all leave your home, Kiri rides with you. She wants to keep you present with everyone. She doesn't want you to get lost to the war going on inside of you.
Jake looks back once or twice; but while you are focused on what is ahead, and keeping your sister secure, Kiri looks at him with worry; he always looks away, feeling guilty for what you have seemingly become.
You've lost yourself.
You arrive at your new home and go with your siblings to explore it.
Kiri, however, sees that part of your old safe wake up once again when you both go underwater.
There's a whole life under here. A whole way to live.
But, she then sees you gasp for air. You can't hold it as long as her.
You go back to the surface, gasping for breath. The rest of your siblings approach you, as does tsireya in concern.
"I'm fine. I'm fine," you assure them, despite your efforts to breathe saying otherwise.
You go to shore first, going back to the hut you are living at. Neytiri is there.
"Y/N!" Tuk says, hugging you as you bend down to catch her.
"Are you well, my child?" She asks, as you enter.
You nod, on instinct; but her maternal instinct knows otherwise, "what has happened?"
"Nothing, mother. I am ok."
She knows this can be a make-or-break moment for you both; she loves you dearly, but you have been distant as of late, so she knows this is a choice of pushing or pulling way more.
"Did you have a good day of learning?" she says, pushing.
"I held my breath longer than I thought I would."
She beams, "that is good," she says.
Your lips twitch a bit, "but not as long as Kiri's did."
Her smile wobbles a little, but it ultimately stays.
"It does not matter," she assures, approaching you, "what matters is, you did it; did it help you at all?"
You pause, actually; and your mother sees the gears turning in your head, she finally sees you for all you are - eyes flickering between thoughts, what your body and face do as you decide on an answer.
She knows she is biased, she is a mother, but she finds it beautiful.
"It felt peaceful," you finally decide on. Her beaming smile returns.
"You're happy again!" Tuk celebrates. You smile at your baby sister.
"Always have been, Tuk," you assure her. Giving her a genuine smile you seem to only reserve for her.
Your mother is always at ease when she sees it, you're not fully gone.
The family regroups, and they are all pleased to see you have a moment of happiness with Tuk.
Neteyam knows the life you have led - not by anyone's choice - has damaged you particularly, but he still feels guilty for seemingly forcing you into that role of a fighter as well. One with commitment, but one without preservation for yourself.
You have the same amount of fingers as Lo'ak, meaning you pack the same punch in the fight.
Despite Kiri's disinterest in her siblings, she stays for a bit longer, until she can pull you away.
"Hey. Hey! Stop. Stop! I'm ok, Y/N. I'm ok. I'm safe, see?" She grabs your face in her hands, making you look at her.
Your eyes soften, knowing she's ok.
"We should go for a walk," she says. When the fight escalates again, she pulls your face to look at her, instead of the fight. She wants you to not be the violent, self-destructive person you have become.
You both do go on that walk, then both go to the water where you both have tried to find a home - moreso her - as you can't stay as long under as she does.
You leave her after a moment - both having gotten better at sign - but she then gets worried when she can't find you.
She closes her eyes when she resurfaces, seemingly hours later, and can't find you. She even goes to the hut, and sees you aren't there, your parents ask of your whereabouts. With her eyes shut, she thinks back, praying to Eywa to help her remember and find you. She feels the wind on her, and they push her to dive in from a certain place, then she feels a pull to a certain part of the water. And there you are, floating, not moving.
She swims, with more strength and quicker than she ever has before. She grabs you, and pulls you to the surface.
"MOM! DAD!" She calls out. And despite being seemingly miles away, your parents seem to hear like it's right next to them. The two of them dive in, and help bring you to shore.
"Oh, no. Oh, Y/N. Oh, my child. Oh, no!" Neytiri cries out, trying to make you wake up.
"Let me try," Jake says, gently pushing her aside and starting CPR on your chest. He counts, being used to both doing this and having this done to him, in another life - but it comes back like it's nothing.
Kiri holds your hand, tightly, silently begging for you to come back.
"Come on, baby. Breathe. Breathe," your father says as he continues his compressions.
"Please, great mother! Please!" your mother pleads, holding you close.
Water then comes out of your mouth, coughs leave your lips.
Your mother hugs you like she never has before. It's tight.
Instinctively, you wrap your arm that isn't held down by Kiri around your mother.
You look to Kiri after opening your eyes, seeing her have tears running down her cheeks, but she wipes them away with her spare hand.
You then look to your father, who just looks relieved.
After you have eaten, with your whole family making sure you do so, it is Kiri, Jake, and Neytiri who find you on your own, sat outside, feet in the water.
"Can I ask what was going through your head when you thought of that?" Kiri asks, softly, sitting on one side of you, while Jake sits on the other, and Neytiri sits behind you.
"I just wanted it to be over," you answer, honest.
"What do you mean by that, buddy?" Jake asks, slowly. He knows those thoughts too well.
You lean into him, sensing this.
"Things like this," you say.
"Feelings?"
"I feel too much," you say, pushing away.
"Hey, no," he says, pulling you back to his side. Kiri shuffles up a bit, still holding your hand, "they aren't something to hide from, Y/N."
"You do," his heart skips a bit. Is that how you thought of him?
"I'm sorry I gave that impression."
Neytiri starts playing with your hair, trying to calm herself down as much as yourself.
"It's bad, dad."
"I'm sorry, baby," he says, kissing your head. You feel a tear slip onto your head, or it may just be the water.
"Ki," you say, turing to your sister. She tilts her head, tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry I pushed you away. I'm sorry I was a bad sibling."
"No. No, Y/N --" you cut her off before you can finish.
"I thought if everything just stopped. I thought it would maybe make it all better," it hurts her to hear, but she thinks this is what she needs to do, to hear it; you need to let it out to maybe start making your back somewhat - not all the way, she knows that now - to who you were, "if I wasn't here."
You feel your mother pull back on your hair seemingly on purpose. She tilts your head up, making you look up at her, "you are never a burden on us. Never, my child. You are a Sully. You are a fighter, in all ways. But. most importantly, you are yourself. You are perfect as that. The pain we will work through, all of us will."
"We all will," Kiri promises, squeezing your hand and making you look at her, "I'm not going anywhere, ever. Whatever the future holds, I'm here with you."
You squeeze her hand too, "I'm here with you too."
Jake and Neytiri share a look of relief. Your struggle isn't over, but there - as Jake would later tell Neytiri, momentarily - breakthrough. A cloud of light amongst the darkness of your brain.
You all continue, with Kiri confiding in you her connection with Eywa, and so you follow her to try find where her origins lied, but she then has her attack.
Now it is your turn who calls out for your parents.
You stay by Kiri's side as your father's friends come to help. You pace, before you find your breath picking up to a point of --
"Y/N? Buddy? Hey. Hey, look at me, look at dad. Hey! I'm here, kid!"
You do, but your breaths aren't slowing, "oh, kid," he puts himself in front of you, "follow my breaths," he is slow with his breaths, and you try to follow; but you go to look at Kiri, only for your father to pull your view to his.
"I'm right here. I'm right here," says, "I've got you. Just try to follow my breaths, ok?"
"Dad --" you try to say, only for the rest of your words to get stuck behind your worry for Kiri and inability to keep up with everything; it's all too quick.
"I know, bubba, I know," he says, "I know. I'm here. I'm here. Dad's here. He's not leaving. I'm not leaving. Kiri will be ok, I promise. But, right now, I need you to be ok. Please, buddy, try follow me. Please, baby."
You do, after what seems like hours, but your father is patient.
"I'm sorry," is all you say.
"Oh, buddy," he says,as he hugs you, "you don't need to be sorry. I've gone through similar things."
"You have?" You ask him, holding him tightly now in concern. His heard melts at it.
"I did," he admits, allowing himself to be vulnerable, "in the army. In the army."
"Army?"
"I'll tell you another time, kid. Promise," he says, kissing you on the head and focusing on you.
As time goes on, Jake can't run away from the fact that the war is catching up to you all even in your new place of residence.
Jake can see it all starting to get to you again; but this time he really notices. He sees your shakey hands, your stone face.
Everyone does.
As Lo'ak goes to save his new brother, Kiri has you with herself and Tuk; but as soon as you see Lo'ak go, you go after him without a second thought, Kiri following at the same instant. She won't let you go alone, not again.
You all save his friend only to then see the RDA.
Despite your efforts, you, Tuk, Lo'ak and tsireya are captured.
You try to fight back and are shot in the side. Your siblings and new friend cry out to you.
"Jake Sully," you hear your father's enemy call out on the radio, "you've already got one kid here bleeding out, and while I do not want a kid to die, trust me, I'll do what I have to. You know what I want. Come here, and you can get them, all of them."
He starts to, but then Lo'ak's friend appears, and you already feel fainter than you did before. As Neyteyam saves you all, and Lo'ak goes to fight, he pushes you back, "go, get out of here, Y/N!"
You go with tsireya and Tuk, but your younger sister wants you to go back.
"Y/N," tsireya starts to say, but you find yourself going with Tuk.
"Sully's stick together," you argue.
They're your family. They matter to you. The war did before. Them being ok did. But you hid that love, not anymore.
"Y/N!" Kiri cries out, seeing you. You cut her binds. She immediately goes to your wounds. Instead of pushing her away, you let her look at them - despite the situation you're in.
You're apart of the family too.
Despite your best efforts, you're caught again, and tsireya is pushed off.
"Y/N. Y/N! Open your eyes! I need you, Y/N!" Kiri's cries keep your eyes open. Tuk even joins, kicking you in the leg. It keeps you going. This is your family. Your fortress in times of darkness, they rallied around you in their own ways. Neyteyam with his check-ins or looks, Lo'al out on the water and banter, Tuk with her hugs and happiness at seeing you, and Kiri keeping you grounded and here.
You'd fight for them, instead of the idea of family you had in your mind. You had your idea of your home, of your family, and what you were fighting for. But this, the people calling out for your survival, this was what you were fighting for.
You're taken instead of Kiri, and she pleaded the whole time for it to be here, but you end up going.
Your father saves your sisters and then sees the damage done to you by the bullet. How you're still standing, he doesn't know, but he is sure as shit grateful. You're barely hanging on, however.
"I'll do it, Sully! Back off!" the man holding you put the blade to your neck to keep you here, and going.
Part of you wants to ask him to just do it.
But there's a part to you that's louder now. A part that's asking you to fight. To try.
You do.
You slam your head back into the guy, using his moment of unsureness with Spider - who you are grateful to know is alive - and then running to your family. Jake puts you behind him, and Kiri holds you close, with you both putting Tuk behind you and then Spider as well.
You all back away to the water, but then your father goes to fight his fight, and your mother goes after Tuk.
That destructive part of you says to go after your mother. But you stay. Kiri and Spider need you. You know your mother has Tuk. You'll get them out.
So, on nothing but instincts alone, you begin to lead your two other siblings out of the boat to the top, catching each other when one falls.
You reach the top, but it's sinking fast. You all hold hands, "Stay together!" Spider calls out.
"Together," you and Kiri call out.
You then all go under.
And Kiri finally finds her connection with the ocean, helping it light both of your ways.
She sends some light your way, but you also find they follow you as well.
"You're you" your sister's words ring through your mind.
You use it to help your way up. You find Kiri.
Despite your mind screaming at you, despite all the thoughts telling you that you are alone, you hold your hand to your sister. She holds it, as you both go under, to find your family. You know what the hand hold means; the other isn't going anywhere.
You find them, helping them all get to the surface.
Then you grieve Neteyam. You hug your mother, and she hugs you just as tightly.
As you do, you look at Kiri, who crouches down and hugs you both.
You know it'll be a fight; both your internal one, and the external one you all face, but you'll do it together.
Kiri won't leave you. The others won't.
You're you, wars and all going on inside. They won't leave.
Because Sully's stick together.

A New Sun: Chapter 4 - Scars
Note: Thank you all so much for the love and support!!! I wish you all a Happy New Year!
Series Masterlist
Chapter 3, Chapter 5
Pairing: Lo'ak x female reader
Please comment, like and share
Isabella was never the girl to curse or wished for something bad to happen to others... but at this moment, she cursed the Na'vies in her heart while been kept inside a tent.
Her hands were tied together and she would glare at any Na'vi that came to the tent. And she did so with Lo'ak when he approached later on, and sat inside the tent with a bowl.
"Thought you would be hungry," he said, and for the first time she could hear in his voice that he was a little nervous.
Isabella glared at him and when he placed the bowl near her, she turned her body completely away from him, clearly showing her anger and annoyance by facing away from him.
She was giving him the silent treatment.
Lo'ak sighed, nodding, it wasn't like he expected her to be happy to see him like she did earlier.
"Look, I... I'm sorry that this is happening. My father will let you out of here in a few hours."
Isabella scoffed but didn't turn to him.
Lo'ak looked down and took the bowl before leaving her alone. Isabella turned to watch him leave with a glare and turned her attention to her tied hands.
I definitely prefer been grounded for life than come back here, Isabella thought in anger, I can't believe I followed him, what the hell was I thinking?!
She thought of her mother already out there searching for her with Daniel and others. Isabella knew she would search the entire forest if she had to. She had to get out of there and go back before it was getting dark.
Isabella looked to the entrance of the tent.
Jake Sully watched Lo'ak approaching with a frown. "What is it?" Neytiri asked.
"That wasn't a necessary call," Lo'ak said.
"Lo'ak--" his mother started.
"No, that was not what I expected to happen," Lo'ak said, "I didn't tell you about her just so you can tie her up and keep her as a hostage. She's not like them."
"We'll let her go soon," Jake assured him.
"When is soon?" Lo'ak asked, "Because she has a mother, and she is the leader of the Sky People." He looked between his parents and they avoided his look. Lo'ak let out a breath. "You know already?"
"When she said her last name," Jake said.
"So you now using her to get to her mother," Lo'ak said with a nod, anger clearly on his face, "You most likely going to get her killed."
"Lo'ak, enough," Neytiri warned.
"Look, I don't like this anymore than you do," Jake told his son, "No harm will come to her, alright? She is safe here than out there. We'll give her back after we'll send her mother the message."
"They won't leave," Lo'ak said, "It won't work." With that said, he walked past them with disappointment.
-------
The day soon turned to night.
Lo'ak was looking now and then to the tent Isabella was in, and his siblings had noticed. "Has she eaten anything?" Kiri asked.
"No," Lo'ak answered as he shook his head, "I mean, I tried to give her but she turns her back on me."
"Maybe let me try," Spider told them, "I mean hey I'm a human. I could try to talk to her and get her to eat."
"I think Spider should have a go," Neteyam agreed.
Lo'ak let out a breath and nodded. They watched Spider walking toward the tent, and nodded to the two Na'vies that were watching in the front before stepping in.
But then a few seconds after he quickly got out and looked at the siblings, "She's not here!"
Jake quickly rushed into the tent with Spider to see the tent was empty. Jake let out a sigh of annoyance before stepping outside, "Find the Sky girl, bring her back alive!" he called to his people.
The men all started to ran into the forest, and Kiri noticed Lo'ak had disappeared to look for the girl before she could get hurt. "Lo'ak!"
Isabella was running with her hands still tied, panting, "Fuck, fuck, fuck," she muttered under her breath.
Isabella slowed to a stop and tired to control her breathing. She looked around, where the hell do I go now?! she thought to herself, Fuck!
Isabella stepped closer to one of the trees and started to rub the rope to get it off. "Come on, come on," she muttered.
A twig snapped, making Isabella startle and look around quickly before she turned back to get the rope off of her hands. She slowed down when she heard growling, and they were familiar to her.
The noise came behind her and she slowly turned around to see two animals of the same species approaching her.
The same specie that tried to attack her until Lo'ak saved her.
Isabella looked around for something to defend herself but with her hands still tied--
Another one of them jumped from behind her and scratched her on the back, making her cry in pain as she fell on the ground. An arrow flew by and hit one of them.
The two of them ran away as some of the Na'vies ran closer, shouting.
Isabella groaned in pain as she tried to reach and touch her back but she couldn't. Lo'ak ran closer and kneeled in front of her, "Isabella."
Isabella's teary eyes turned to Lo'ak as he quickly cut the rope off of her hands. He looked at her back, "Norm!"
Isabella breathed heavily and cried in pain as he back was touched. "Don't touch her back, wait!" someone called and Isabella could see a Na'vi running closer and kneeling beside him, "You hurting her more."
He pulled his large vest off of him and placed it gently on her back as Isabella closed her eyes, fading into darkness.
-------
Isabella slowly opened her eyes, her vision was blurry for a moment so she closed her eyes for a few seconds and then opened them.
Slowly, her vision regained and she faced a man's back sitting in front of her, on a computer. Isabella frowned, realizing she was lying on her front. She pushed herself up, hissing in pain and looked down at herself to see she had a huge t-shirt on instead of her tank top.
Her hissing got the man's attention, and he turned to her. "Oh, hey," he said kindly and got up, "Easy, easy." He helped her turn to her back and sit up. He moved the pillow up so she could rest her back on it.
Isabella looked at him in suspicion, recognizing his voice, and let him help her sit comfortably. "Where am I?" she asked quietly.
"Uh, you're at the High Camp," he said, "I'm Dr. Norm Spellman. Me and my colleague treated your Viperwolf scratch on your back."
"The what?" she asked quietly.
"It's those thing that attacked you," Norm explained, "It's call Viperwolf. You should feel better soon."
"How long was I out?" Isabella asked as she looked at him.
"Three days," Norm answered hesitantly.
"Three days?" Isabella repeated.
Norm nodded, "Uh, the scratch will leave a scar... but other than that, you will be able to go back to do... whatever you want in a little more time."
Isabella looked over his shoulder to see Jake walking in with Lo'ak, and she immediately moved to leave, but hissed in pain. Norm turned to see what startled her to move and quickly stopped him and his son from stepping into the room, and looked up at him, "Uh, wow, Jake, now is really not a good time."
"I just came to see how she is," Jake said.
"A little in pain but other than that, she will survive," Norm said, "Unless you planning on tying her up again and torture her this time."
Jake looked at him with a frown, "Come on, man, you know I'll never do that."
Norm shrugged a little, "I don't know, you're the chief now... people can change. She needs to stay here, in this bed for a few more days. Then you can talk to her. But talk, not tying her up."
Jake gave a small nod and Norm closed the glass door. He looked down at his son who stared at Isabella.
Norm turned to the girl and walked closer, giving her a small smile, "Bought you some time for peace and quiet."
"Thanks," Isabella mumbled. "Why?"
Norm sighed, "Look, Jake is my friend, but sometimes he can be a pain in the ass. At least to me." Isabella scoffed, smirking a little. "But he also has a lot on his shoulders."
"My mother won't take our people and leave," Isabella said suddenly, "We can't go back to Earth."
Norm nodded a little and let out a breath, "Nothing will happen to you here. But, with your mother and the rest of the Sky People... I don't think the Na'vies will let all of them live."
"I figured that much," she muttered.
Norm tilted his head and turned to the computer before looking back at her, "Here's something I am dying to figure out, and I just can't... How can you breath without an oxygen mask?"
Isabella blinked and let out a breath, "You going to have to get me something to eat first."
Norm gave her a small smile but nodded a little, "Fair enough, I suppose." He turned to the computer, typing some keys. Isabella looked at the glass door to see Lo'ak was looking at her.
Her mother wanted war against the Na'vies, Isabella knew it since the moment they stepped on Pandora for the very first time. They lost people since the second day, and the Na'vies lost some too.
Isabella didn't want more death in her life.
She wanted to stop this.

— headcanon : types of kisses
ft. neteyam, ao’nung, lo’ak, kiri, tsireya, roxto, spider
neteyam : one hand on the nape of your neck, the other holding your waist close to him making sure your skin are pressing against each other. likes to use a lot of tongue when he gives you kisses because you taste like heaven to him.
ao'nung : super needy with many breathless moans in between. kisses you like he hasn’t seen you in months. his hands are cupping your face or behind your neck so you don't break away. doesn't care if you need to breathe and would whine if you broke away even if it's for a second.
lo'ak : soft bitten lips and breaks away from the kiss often just to admire your face. finds kissing very intimate but can't help but smile in between because he finds you adorable. tells you he loves you every now and then and asks if you know that before continuing to give you more.
kiri : both of your hands are in each other's hair making sure all of your fingers are tangling every single strand. lots of heavy breathing and fighting for dominance. someone always ends up on the other’s lap and you both never cared who it was. likes to initiate the kiss and enjoys off guard pecks.
tsireya : loves to give what feels like never ending pecks around your face and neck while she’s straddling your lap. enjoys kissing all your sweet spots because it makes your body squirm from the contact. giggles in between kisses because she knows you’re weak for her.
roxto : lips swollen from barely breaking contact. initiates kisses by grabbing your hand and placing it on his shoulders. but he’s not handsy towards you and prefers it when you’re the one holding onto him. he likes it that way because you end up getting needy.
spider : slow and steady every single time and likes to stare into your eyes before your lips officially makes contact. every kiss feels like the first time for him and you can feel him smile into the kiss. gets butterflies in his stomach if you initiate the kisses but is the one who deepens it every single time.

Heart of the Sea, Heart of the Land
Pairing: Kiri x f!Metkayina!reader
A/N: Y/N/N -> Your Na'vi name
Warnings: Angst, A hint of homophobia
Words: 2k
-> Requested
As the daughter of one of the Olo'eyktan's most trusted warriors, your path in life had always been clear. From the moment you were born, it was destined that you would become the mate of Tonowari's firstborn. But as you grew and came to know the true nature of Aonung, the young boy you were betrothed to, your heart began to heavy with dread. Aonung, with his haughty demeanor and cruel nature, had always been a bully, using his status as a clan son to torment others, yourself included. You still remembered that summer day, when he and his friends had descended upon you and your friends, throwing stones and sticks, cackling with laughter as they chased you. And as you lay bruised and trembling on the ground, Aonung's words still echoed in your mind, "You'll always be a weak little girl.”
But even as your friendship with Tsireya, the Olo'eyktan's daughter, brought some respite from Aonung's actions, the conflict between you and him never truly dissipated. It was as if he was trying to scare you away, so that your fate would be returned to your own hands.
The Sully's were not like the Na'vi of the sea, with their different hues and unfamiliar bodies and speech, they were captivating. Among Jake's two sons, a young girl caught your eye. Her wild, unruly hair was the perfect frame for her golden eyes that shone with curiosity. When your gazes met, your heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. But the moment passed quickly and you were brought back to reality, standing straight beside your future mate, Aonung, who was busy taunting the newcomers. Despite yourself, your eyes couldn't help but flicker back to Kiri.
From the moment you had the chance to introduce yourself to her, you felt a kind of connection that you had never experienced with another individual. A sense of familiarity, as if you were two pieces of a puzzle that had come together. You loved her sensitivity, the way she took in every bit of life on Pandora, the beauty that was reflected in her eyes as she took in the ocean. Jake and Neytiri's children were quick learners, quicker than you could have imagined, so that soon you and Kiri were scouring the ocean for little treasures to keep. One day, while Tsireya was helping Tuk to make contact with an ilu, you sat next to Kiri, who was looking pensively at the horizon. The soft sound of the waves washing up on the square gave the atmosphere a soothing quality as you told her the first Metkayina legend you had heard as a child.
"Long ago, before even the oldest of our elders can remember, there were two souls, one of the sea and one of the land. They were drawn to each other, but their worlds were so vastly different, they could never be together. But they were determined, and so they found a way to meet each other, in a secret place, hidden by the sea. They would meet every day, at the same time, and tell each other their stories, their hopes, and their dreams. And, as time passed, they fell deeply in love. But, as fate would have it, one day, the ocean took the soul of the sea back, and the soul of the land was left alone. But, even though they were separated, their love was so strong that it stayed alive, and it is said that, even to this day, if you listen closely, you can hear their whispers on the wind, telling each other their stories, their hopes, and their dreams." You liked this story very much, the image of two souls, separated by the world, but united by love.
"It's beautiful," Kiri said, her eyes focused on the sea. "Do you believe in it?"
You nodded, following her gaze. "I do, because it's stories like this that give us hope, that there's someone out there for us." Your heart was heavy with the knowledge that your own fate was not so romantic. "But that's still just a story," you said, your voice barely above a whisper. "In reality, I must be mated with Aonung." Kiri's face turned to you, an expression of sympathy and understanding for you. She placed her hand on your shoulder."I know this is what is expected of me, but I can't help but wish for something more. Something real and true." The girl tried to reassure you, expressing the fact that maybe fate wasn't what you necessarily expected.
With this last sentence, you left him, pretending you had to go see your family. In reality, you simply went to take refuge in your hut. You couldn't help but think of Kiri, of the way your heart beat every time you stood next to each other. You had never felt that way before, and that was what frightened you. Sitting there, lost in thought, you couldn't help but feel guilty. Your duty was to be Aonung's companion, no matter how you felt.
Tears began to prick at your eyes as you thought about the life you would have to lead if you followed through with the arranged mating. You couldn't imagine being with Aonung, not when your heart belonged to someone else. But at the same time, you couldn't bring yourself to hurt your family and your clan by going against their wishes.
You let out a sob as the reality of your situation hit you. You were trapped, torn between your duty and your heart. You couldn't have both Kiri and your clan, and the thought of having to choose between them was unbearable. As the sun began to set, you knew that you had to make a decision. You couldn't keep living in this state of uncertainty and guilt. You knew that whatever choice you made, it would be a painful one. But you also knew that you couldn't keep living a lie.
The next day, as the sun kissed the water's surface, you found Kiri by the stream that flowed inland. Sitting on the riverbank, your toes dipped in the cool water as you marveled at the natural beauty that surrounded you. In the time since her family's arrival, you had spent countless hours together, and had come to consider each other as dear friends.
"This place is truly enchanting," Kiri breathed, her eyes sparkling with wonder as she took in the serene landscape.
"Indeed it is," you agreed, a smile playing on your lips as you watched her delight. "I am so glad you are here. It is nice to have someone to explore this land with." Kiri turned to you, a look of gratitude in her eyes.
"I feel as if I have known you for an eternity."
But as Kiri looked at you, you couldn't shake off the feeling that was gnawing at your heart. You couldn't ignore the emotions that had been brewing inside of you, knowing that your future was with Aonung. You looked away, trying to conceal the turmoil that was brewing inside of you, yet Kiri seemed to sense it.
"Is everything alright?" Kiri asked, her voice laced with concern.
Taking a deep breath, you met her gaze. "I am not certain," you said, your voice thick with emotion. "There is something I must tell you."
Kiri looked at you with a sense of understanding and took your hand in hers. "You can tell me anything," she whispered.
As you looked into Kiri's eyes, you knew that you could no longer keep your feelings hidden. "I am in love with you," you murmured, your voice barely audible. Kiri's eyes widened in surprise, but then she smiled.
As Kiri's lips neared yours, your heart began to flutter with anticipation. Long have you dreamed of this moment, and now as it finally unfurled before you, it felt like a dream. Kiri's kiss was as soft as a butterfly's wing, as gentle as a summer breeze.
With each press of her lips, Kiri's kisses transported you to a world of sweetness and wonder. The delicate caress of her fingers, the melodic laughter that serenaded your ears, all came together to leave you breathless with ecstasy.
As the kiss came to an end, Kiri looked into your eyes and whispered, "I've waited for this moment for an eternity."
And you, looking back into her eyes replied, "As have I," before leaning in for another kiss, sealing the promise of forever.
From that moment on, you knew that Kiri's kiss was not just a mere physical act, but a sacrament, a sacred bond that bound your souls together. And you were ready to follow her to the ends of the earth, for in her arms, you found home.
The air was thick with tension as you were summoned to Tonowari's hut. Your parents, Ronal, Tonowari and Aonung stood before you, their expressions a mix of anger and disappointment.
"What is the meaning of this?" you dared to ask, your voice trembling as you tried to steady your racing heart.
Ronal stepped forward, her eyes filled with disgust as she spoke. "I saw you and that forest girl, Kiri, in a compromising position by the stream. You are betrothed to Aonung, yet you dare to bring shame upon our clan with such a vile and inappropriate relationship." Your heart sank as the reality of the situation hit you. You had known that your feelings for Kiri were a risk, but you couldn't help the way you felt.
As the accusations rained down upon you, tears of remorse streamed down your face. Your heart heavy with the weight of your pledged word, yet aching with the yearning for another. Ronal's demand for the breaking of the pact between families, a sharp knife to your already broken heart. Tonowari's voice, a beacon of reason amidst the storm, implored for calmness, yet the truth of your actions and their consequences could not be denied. Your parents' disappointment and Ronal's disgust, a heavy burden upon your shoulders.
"How could you do this to us?" Your mother's voice, filled with tears, echoed the betrayal she felt. "We raised you to be a good and honorable daughter of the Metkayina, and yet you bring shame upon us all."
The thought of causing your family pain, an unbearable weight upon your heart. Tonowari's words, a glimmer of hope amidst the turmoil, "We must remember that Y/N/N is still young and her actions were not done with the intention of causing harm."
Your father's hand, a vice-like grip upon your arm, led you to the family's hut where the scolding and reprimanding lasted for several more hours. You cried throughout, your heart breaking as you were forced to give up the one you loved. The whole village could hear your sobs, and knew of your disgrace.
Your heart lay shattered, like the broken pieces of a once-beautiful vase, as you sat alone in your hut. Duty had called, and love had been forsaken. A lifetime of regrets and a broken heart, all that remained of the choice you had made.
Kiri too, sat in solitude, her tears a mirror of your own. Her love, now lost to a forced union, and a future in which every day would bring the painful reminder of what could have been. The village where you both lived, now a constant reminder of the love that had been denied. At the beach, you would occasionally meet, your eyes locking for a moment before turning away, hearts heavy with grief.
One day, unable to bear the weight of it all, you approached Kiri. Apologies spilled from your lips, but the damage had been done. "It's too late now," Kiri said, her voice barely above a whisper, "I can never forgive you for what you've done."
“My love for you will never die,” You tried but with those words, Kiri turned and walked away, leaving you standing alone, your heart and future uncertain. Love, now a distant memory, and a lifetime to live with the knowledge that you had thrown away your one chance at happiness.

AVATAR : WAY OF WATER with a Moth from Sky Children of the light Pt. One.2
Prologue - Part One.1
Inspired by : @dizzythediasy
Characters included : The Sully family, Spider and Norm Spellman. Mention of Grace and Eywa.
Pronouns used : They / Them
Note(s) : Writers block is hitting hard, if there's any inconsistencies please tell me so I can correct them. Na'vi language in bold.
The Sully family stood by the child sleeping soundly in Kiri's lap, given they seemed to have an iron grip and refused to let go of her, they all chose to sit and wait for the young one to wake up. When the scientists had tried removing their small wooden mask on the outside of the lab, they thrashed and seemed to be uncomfterable with the thought, constantly slapping and hitting the oxygen mask that would drift their way. Norm let them have their mask, as long as he got to make sure they could properly breathe.
"They aren't a human." Norm said, who looked at confusion at the snoring one. At first most in the room had believed they were just a strange looking sky person, but Jake and Norm confirmed that to not be the case.
"Then what could they be? Another creation, like dreamwalkers?" Neytiri looked between Norm and Jake in fear for her clans safety, while she wasn't opposed to leaving them behind if they proved to be difficult, she has compassion. Jake hmm'd.
"No, I do not think so. They do not seem human at all, science can only be based on existing DNA, neither me or Norm have seen anything like this before." He insisted, sighing and gently holding Neytiri's hand. "We should teach them our ways, they don't seem to have relation to sky people." Neytiri was reminded of her and Jake's time, still unsure, she sighed and gently wrapped an arm around him.
"We shall see, ma jake. We shall see."
Kiri moved to sit atop her mothers tank, carefully placing you in her lap and gently playing with your hair. Speaking to Lo'ak, Neteyam, Tuk and Spider while their parents spoke with Norm about you on the other side of the lab. Unconsciously, you began moving your head from side to side, slowly opening your eyes. They trailed up at your comfterable pillow to see brilliant blue skin and shining yellow eyes, shyly, your finger moved upwards and gently poked her cheek. Kiri smiled and laughed, and so you done it again.
"They seem to like you." Lo'ak laughed at your actions, leaning against Grace's Avatar's tank and grinning at your curious eyes that bore into him as he spoke.
Tuktirey noticed the new attention on you and ran over to her sisters side, her sharp fangs showing as she smiled brightly. You tilted your head and gently put your hands on her cheek, squishing them. All the siblings melted at the adorable interaction, her hands moving to your cheeks and squishing them yourself. The boys laughing as you tugged on Kiri's tail when it entered your point of view.
Three pairs of footsteps and a masculine cough quieted the laughter, only Tuk and you still curiously poking each other. Too enraptured in childhood innocence to understand your enigma of an appearance.
Your eyes drifted to see two very large Na'vi and an Avatar, though to you, the differences weren't too noticeable. Neytiri picked up the youngest Sully and moved her off Grace's tank to the ground, now Jake was right in front you and Kiri.
"Hello." He whispered, assuming you'd understand him if you were related to humans given English was the most widespread language humans used on Pandora. From what Kiri had told him, she wasn't sure if it was English or her careful and slow actions that'd earned their trust.
Tilting your head, instead of responding you reached a hand out and pinched his nose. Neytiri held a hand over her mouth to silence a laugh. Lo'ak and Neteyam looked at each other and tried to silence their own laughs like their mother, however, the young Tuk didn't have that thought and pointed at her dads wince, loudly laughing. Kiri grinned and tried prying the young ones hand off, who just pinched harder as a result.
"I'm not sure they know English." He quietly spoke, voice nasaly from their pinching of his noise, Neytiri's eyes softened at the adorable sight, hardening when she had a sudden thought.
"Maybe another sky person will be of comfort." Looking down on Spider, motioning for him to go forward. He awkwardly shuffled forward and smiled, trying to appear unthreatening as he moved next to Jake.
"Hello? Uh, the name's Spider." Lo'ak snickered and muttered a 'bro', proceeding to get slapped in the back of the head by Neteyam. You still didn't seem to know what was going on. Grabbing his nose like you did with Jake's, reaching your other hand to said Na'vi, leaning your head to study them and their differences.
"I don't think this is working." Spider's voice, now nasaly, spoke. Kiri laughed and pet your head which tipped up to look at her. Even if you didn't have a mouth, your bright eyes could show a thousand smiles if only for a moment.
While Neytiri had a sudden soft spot for you, she gently held her hand on Jake's shoulder. Words unspoken yet understood perfectly, not only through the couple, but through the entire family. Kiri tapped your hand, making you let go of the poor guys noses.
"We need to talk about this." Neytiri looked between the family, eyes studying your figure with an almost regretful suspicion. Kiri jumped down from the tank, gently trying to pry you off holding onto her torso, but you whined and gripped hard onto her, afraid of being left alone.
"Norm will take care of you, okay?" Kiri freed one of her arms and pointed to the very awkward Avatar, huffing but seemingly satisfied with at least not being left alone, you let go of her and she let you stand on the ground. You held out your hand for Norm to hold, but they could all see your eyes locked into Kiri as she left.
Nobody understood the connection you had with her, you felt like a piece of her and she felt the same way, unsure of what you were but all she knew was that she needed to protect you. Kiri heard Eywas mighty heartbeat thump louder than it ever had when you were with her. Your own heartbeat making you feel as if she was your only home.

You smiled, looking down on the large faint path that you and Kiri engraved in the dirt when you and her were little. It was done so neither of you would get lost on your way to your hideout. The place where you and her could forget about all your worries and enjoy each other’s company without any disturbances. You’ve followed the trail so many times that getting lost is the least of your worries. You could close your eyes right here and follow the path with no issue. While walking, you came across a tall familiar tree. You smiled upon seeing the old tree, countless memories were made on it. For instance, when you and Kiri were younger, you and her would always climb up the tree and just hang upside down, talking about whatever came into your childish minds. You still do it with Kiri from time to time, but not as much as you two did when you were little. This also was where you uncovered the brewing feelings for Kiri that have been sitting dormant inside you. She was resting her back on the tree, the wind fluttered through her hair.
Her eyes were closed and there was a wispy smile on her face. She looked so at peace, so calm that you just stood there–admiring your best friend. She held so much beauty and grace, you were confused on how you didn’t notice it before. She was just gorgeous and you knew you were falling for her when she grabbed your hand out of the blue one time, her thumb unknowingly caressing your hand. You were internally freaking out over the small action, heart practically beating out of your chest and your stomach was filled with butterflies. You couldn’t even focus on what Kiri was saying to you because your attention was stuck on how you and Kiri’s hands slotted perfectly together. Almost like your hand was made to hold hers. Your crush on her had grown stronger from there on. Now, you couldn’t even look at Kiri without having your heart run a whole marathon. You tried not being too obvious with your feelings but even Lo’ak had noticed your not so subtle crush on her. Giving one last look at the tree, you parted ways and continued following the now faint path. You were drawing close to the flower field where Kiri would rest. Your stomach began to twist into knots from the growing anxiety. You were going to confess to her and tell her how you feel. You could only hope she felt the same way about you.
Kiri was laying in the middle of the grassy field, the woodspirits floating above her. Some floated down and laid on her limbs, swaying softly with the wind. Kiri looked so peaceful, which was a rare sight to see. She had told you many times before on how she feels like she doesn’t belong, how she feels out of place but whenever she connects to the world around her, when she connects to Ewya she feels like she’s one with herself, one with nature and every living being on Pandora. You never really understood what she meant, but what you did understand is that whenever she let herself loose and feel everything that was around her, from the air everyone breathes to the ground everyone steps in, she connects with it and shuts off. You never minded when she became lost in her own world because it was a free pass to stare at her and take in her beauty. You sat right next to Kiri, burning the smile that was displayed on her face to memory. How could someone look so perfect? You failed to realize her eyes fluttering open.
She shuffled around, blinking a few times before letting out a sigh. Stretching out her tired limbs, she sat up from the floor. The woodspirits that surrounded rose up from her, bidding their goodbyes by kissing Kiri on the face with their tendrils. She felt your lingering gaze on your face, looking over to you she smiled. “When did you get here?” She asked, voice thick with sleep. Your ears fluttered, face warming up. You loved hearing Kiri’s sleepy voice. “Just now, I didn’t want to disturb you so I–”
“--You stared at me?” She had just woken up not too long ago and she’s already teasing you. “Yeah, I was staring.” You looked down in embarrassment. Kiri quietly giggled, hiding her smile behind her hand. “I wasn’t expecting you to give in so easily.” She said, sharing a few laughs to herself before placing her hand back down. Her fingers lightly brush against yours and your heart skips a beat. You suddenly remember the reason why you came all the way over here. Taking in a deep breath, you looked at Kiri. You didn’t even prepare yourself, you had no idea how you were going to do this.
“Kiri,” Your heart pounded against your ribcage and your gut was filled with unease. Her ears twitch. Curiosity glinting in her eyes over the sudden shift in your mood. “I have something to tell you.” You say.
She doesn't respond, but the look in her eyes is urging you on to continue. You closed your eyes and built up the remaining confidence you have left because what could go wrong? You and Kiri have been through everything together, confessing your crush on her won’t ruin what you and her have. If anything, if she doesn’t feel the same way, you and her can forget that his whole ordeal happened and move on.
You took a deep breath and clenched your hands together. It’s now or never.
“I like you.”
Kiri blinked in surprise.
“You like me?” She repeats, utterly dumbfounded with what you had just confessed to her.
You nod your head slowly, unsure with where this is going to go. The anxiety in your gut began to rage and the growing silence isn’t helping. Kiri bites down on the inside of her cheek, shamefully looking away. “I’m sorry.” She says, her voice small and weak. “I don’t feel the same way.”
You feel everything around you freeze. The sounds of the leaves rustling in the background became a loud static and the trees started to blur together. Tears started to form in your eyes. Even if you tried anticipating the rejection, even if you tried softening the blow by thinking of the positives. Being rejected by the person you love hurts. You don’t get the time to say anything more after that because Kiri excuses herself, and with nothing else to do. You watch as her figure becomes more than a mere blob from the tears that clouded your vision.
ღ
“And you left her there?” Lo’ak said with an over exaggerated gasp, his hand coming to cover his agape mouth. “You’re annoying.” Kiri sighed out, pushing Lo’ak away from her. “How could I not gasp? What you did was so messed up.” Lo’ak shook his head, dropping his hand back down to his lap. “I know! I panicked.” Kiri frowned, dragging her hands down her face. She had been feeling guilty all day for leaving you alone like that. Your crestfallen face would forever be imprinted in her head. Neteyam slid right next to Kiri, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and pulling her in a side hug. Usually, Kiri would push Neteyam away, whining about how she wanted to be left alone. But right now, she doesn’t want to be left alone. Her emotions were too much for her right now that if she were to be alone, she would spiral. “Did you run away because you knew you didn’t feel the same? Or because you did feel the same, you were just afraid to admit them?” Neteyam asked. Lo’ak rose a brow at Neteyam.
“Bro, when did you become so smart?” Neteyam rolled his eyes. “I don’t know.” She truthfully said, ignoring the small dispute that happened between her brothers. She had been battling with herself with her own feelings for you. Late nights she laid in her hammock, thinking about you and how she wished you were right next to her. She began to admire your face and everything about you. She started to think about her favorite moments with you and think about how she would just stare at you and imagine how your lips would feel on hers. She would catch herself imagining a future with you and her heart would skip a beat whenever she’d notice what she was thinking about. You consumed her thoughts and that scared her. She didn’t know what to do so she built up this wall to protect herself from her feelings, but you broke down those walls when you confessed to her.
She realized that her efforts to block her love for you was futile. You felt the same way she did, she didn’t have to hide anymore. She had dreamed of this moment endlessly, where you would confess and she would finally open up about her feelings for you. She swooned over the thoughts about you two sharing a kiss, the kiss exchanging the words you and her never got to say. But there she was, sitting right in front of you. Your heart in your hands as you told her what you had been feeling for a long time. And instead reacting the way she planned to, she panicked. She was too overwhelmed by the sudden emotions she felt that she didn’t know what to do, so she fled.
“I feel so stupid.” Kiri mumbled. Neteyam rubbed his hand up and down Kiri’s arm, a soothing action he did to her when she was younger. “You are not stupid.” Neteyam said. Kiri didn’t say anything else and wallowed in her self pity. “Why don’t you go tell her how you truly feel?” Kiri’s ears perked up. She had forgotten that she could make amends with you. Sprouting up with newfound vigor, she hugged both of her brothers. “I have not thought about that, thank you Neteyam!” And with that, Kiri took off. Her feet padded against the floor, her heart hammering in her chest. She’s going to tell you how she really feels. She went to the place she knew she’d find you. The tree that held most of you and Kiri’s precious memories. Looking up, she saw your leg dangling off one of the thick branches that sprouted from the tree. She took a deep breath and started making her way up. Hanging her hand over the branch, she pulled herself up and plopped herself right in front of you with ease. She flashed you a smile while you stared in confusion. “I want to apologize,” She says, her hands finding yours and intertwining them together. You blushed at the sudden affection.
“I’m so sorry for leaving you alone with no explanation on why.”
You shake your head. “It’s okay, I knew—“
“Wait! You didn’t let me finish.” She squeezes your hands before letting go. Her hands cupped your face, her eyes quickly shifting from your lips to your eyes. “I have been wanting to tell you this ever since I heard my Dad say it to my Mom.” You knew what she was going to say. You have heard the loving phrase slip out of Jake’s mouth one too many times, but you would have never thought you would be hearing it come out of Kiri’s mouth.
She pulls your face closer to hers. Your breath hitches in your throat when you feel her nose brush yours. Her lips are practically touching yours and all you can hear is your loud heartbeat ringing in your ears.
“I love you.”
