Hi hullo that means a lot I’m so glad that you enjoy 🥺These alts have been an absolute joy to make!

So here’s a little secret: tiny details aren’t actually in my comfort zone when it comes to character design. Ironic, I know! It’s FEH’s entire bread and butter, and most of my art on the internet is of this game. But I think you can see definitely see it in my work from a year ago. I was (and still am don’t get me wrong) a big fan of far simpler designs. It was all I really knew how to do, which made drawing these characters a massive challenge. They were extremely outside of my range, but fortunately my brain did not care and needed a creative outlet for this fixation.

I’ve learned a lot from drawing these characters over this past year or so. Particularly from drawing Kiran! And I wanted to put those skills to the test. Apply what I’ve learned and see if I could successfully replicate some of FEH’s design philosophies (within a time constraint and the true goal being to have fun.) And man, hearing that it was noticed and appreciated feels really good. I find art to often be a solitary process, so I’m really happy that the effort I put in to improving my craft has resulted in something that you can enjoy too :D

Me when art.#Anyway something funny I noticed is how Kiran’s hood really does act as their hair #In order to keep alts recognizably looking like a character feh will often the hair and face unchanged #At most a long haired lady might put her hair in a ponytail (i.e. Spring Sharena Summer Alear and Brave Eirika)#Kiran’s hood gives them this recognizability. So I’ve made it my mission to incorporate it into most their outfits #The only exceptions I made where the child and summer alt #With the former I wanted to emphasize that this kid is not even remotely the summoner of heroes and tactician of the order yet.#Very normal child. What makes them recognizably Kiran is their laid back temperament and sassy attitude.#And with the latter… guys have you seen the summer alts? The guys are LACKINGGGGGGGGG. Where is the SPICE.#For once putting them in a hood was genuinely the most boring option. I had to do something else to convey their androgyny.#ask answered
