King's Quest V piece for the @ninjapetalzines Danny Avidan themed zine!~
Sierra point+click adventure games are so fun and punny and nostalgic. I love how this piece turned out. The magical music notes are from NSP's Dragon Slayer cause that seemed on brand.

King's Quest 5! This is the one with the bad voice acting and wonky puzzle design! I have a lot of nostalgia for this one

Dragon Quest Easter Egg in Dragon Ball Daima!?
During the explanation of the Third Evil Eye's power and it's use by the Supreme Demon Kings of the past they show us the silhouettes of various Demon Kings. And the last one has a very peculiar silhouette.
Tumblr media
And that's because it's almost identical to the most famous and most powerful Archfiend in all Dragon Quest series:
ZOMA
Tumblr media
Which considering that both series where drawn by Akira Toriyama it's kind of makes sense, to be honest. And it's a pretty cool Easter Egg.
Now, I won't be able to not think that Zoma owes it's power to a magical artifact.
I would also like to take this opportunity to point out another similarity with another big bad from Dragon Quest: Nimzo and Demon King Piccolo.
After many years Daima has confirmed/retcon that the Namekians are truly demons and not aliens, returning the link with the Archfiend from Dragon Quest V, Nimzo, who looked strongly like a Namekian, especially after seeing the inmense magical power that Neva seems to hold.

D.isney Crossover Verses
D.reamlight Valley -> King of Sunlit Plateau
After being trapped inside the Elephant Cave for an untold number of years, Scar has finally been freed and is allowed to reclaim his 'kingdom' of the Sunlit Plateau.
Unfortunately, with his territory so close to the main plaza, he's going to have to learn how to get along with other residents of the Valley. After all, his "co-ruler" wouldn't be too happy to hear he's causing more headaches...
(Note: dynamics with the 'player character' can be adjusted as required, but it will be assumed that by default, Scar is slightly friendly, but still holds a trace of bitterness for how 'his kingdom' was ruined in the player's absence.)
-
K.ingdom Hearts -> The Heartless King
It took blood, sweat, tears, and a deal with Pete for Scar to take the throne of Pride Rock for himself. Scar's not going down without a fight, even if his ghost has to roam the kingdom after his death.
And if he gets to haunt his nephew? Well, that's just an added bonus.

Do you think that Sansa will be qitn ?
I 100% think Sansa will be in some kind of ruling position at the end of the books, in Winterfell. Whether that's Lady of Winterfell, co-ruling with her husband (*cough*Jon*cough*) or as a regent, I genuinely don't think anyone can know for certain and there is even a possibility that the author himself left that thread up in the air for a long time, since he's more of a "gardener" type of writer, leaving the door open for the options I listed.
As for QITN, I'm not convinced that seceding into individual kingdoms at the end of the series would change anything of significance. So, Sansa getting to call herself Queen instead of Lady of the North is not particularly progressive - just more of the same feudalism, but on a smaller scale. Nor am I against unitary states lol. Certainly our real world history has had us evolving away from the decentralized feudal system to the centralized bureaucracy of modern states, interspersed by the, *gasp here* installation of (enlightened) absolutism, before the advent of democratic institutions.*
So, I'm not expecting Westeros to turn into a socialist commune at the end of the series. I think it's fair to say GRRM is looking for a model of "good kingship", for his King Arthur, if you may. The claimants in the War of the 5 Kings die for a reason, because they do not fit that mold. They're not, IDK, let's use the term worthy, because this is a medieval fantasy concerned with critiques on honour and morality. We're not overthrowing the monarchy at the end of ADOS.
However, it would be nice if, at the end, we could see some possibility for the emergence of elements that would slowly contribute to the downfall of feudalism, like the development of cities, of the middle classes, wealth diversification and the erosion of the powers feudal lords enjoy, as well as technological progress, which has been laughably and unrealistically slow in Westeros. That last bit could have simply been done for narrative purposes, not to complicate the story too much, because this is fantasy, after all, so I'm not too pressed by it. But I feel like real technological change could only happen if magic is completely eradicated from the world and the climate returns to normal, which I am expecting to happen.
*huge simplification i know don't yell @ me, history is not that linear and neat. but still.
