Pastor Hyung-Jin âSeanâ Moon, the leader of the controversial Rod of Iron Ministries, is now spreading far-right rhetoric via a series of wild low-budget music videos.
By Tess Owen
...
Another six-minute song called âFruit Ninja,â Moon raps, âDid you hear about this group called LGTBQ/You may have heard them in your school or even your church pew/They are telling our kids they can switch to any gender/Taking hormones slicing organs like theyâre playing Fruit Ninja.âÂ
Other tracks promote a grab bag of other far-right conspiracy theories. âSuddenly Deadâ promotes the widely debunked claim that people who received the COVID-19 vaccine have been dropping dead. âRed Eye Patriotâ promotes the baseless âFedsurrectionâ conspiracy, which claims undercover federal agents were behind Jan. 6 with the goal of smearing Trump supporters. âThey call us conspiracy theorists and domestic terrorists/They did the sedition and blamed it on you and me,â Moon raps.Â
...
Moonâs church, which imagines the âRod of Ironâ in the Bibleâs Book of Revelations as a modern-day AR-15 and Jesus Christ as a manufacturer of assault weapons, is an example of an extremist group that, despite being somewhat insular and fringe, operates in lockstep with the broader far-right and GOP when it comes to fighting the culture war du jour.Â
...
In late 2020, fighting âpolitical satanismâ meant contesting the results of the presidential election. Moon and other senior members of the church were at the Capitol on Jan. 6 (though thereâs no evidence to suggest they went inside).Â

The festival, a two-day carnival of MAGA dripping madness, offered an unfiltered look at the Republican Party's present and future.
by Zach D. Roberts October 13, 2023
The Rod of Iron Festival in the woods of Greeley, Pennsylvania, sure knows how to put on a show: a 50 person choir flown in from Japan, firearm giveaways, and a bonfire. Too bad itâs all organized by a cult that âworshipsâ guns and was started by one of the sons of Reverend Moon, the founder of the Unification Church who claims to be a messiah.Â
Since 2020, the Pennsylvania Sanctuary Church, a sect of the Unification Church (aka The Moonies), has held a festival in October celebrating firearms, the 2nd Amendment, and of course former President Donald Trump. The former President has never attended, but they have been able to pull in conservative names like Dana Loesch, Alan Gottlieb, Steve Bannon, and this year Sebastian Gorka and Jack Posobiec.Â
The festival was a two-day carnival of MAGA dripping madness.Â
Right-wing radio broadcaster and former deputy assistant to President Trump Sebastian Gorka opened the festival with a wild speech that blamed fentanyl deaths on immigrants and claimed that President Joe Biden had open borders from the moment he took office. The fact that President Biden has continued many of Trumpâs nightmarish border policies, while his border apprehensions and expulsions were higher in 2021 than in any year of the Trump administration, didnât seem to matter.Â
...
The eveningâs musical act was none other than the chosen heir to Reverend Moon, the Second King ⌠Sean Moon aka King Bullethead. Over the last couple years heâs been working on his rapping and even though the lyrics were truly vile and conspiracy-filled, the performance was incredibly intense. The main stage tent was packed with hundreds of devotees, some who even stage-dived.
...
Day 2 Pastor Sean Moonâs Speech opened the second day. âThe Communist Party under Mao and China funded the destruction of traditional marriage through bars and strip clubs funded by the state,â said Moon. âIn Germany, the Nazis created the first homosexual rights organization and groomed soldiers into abominable homosexual practices. In America, the Communist forces funded sexual liberation, LGBTQ rights and drag queens, shows books, schools and a multibillion dollar genital mutilation industry.â
Far-right political operative and Steve Bannon friend Jack Posobiec was the headliner for the second and final day of the Rod of Iron Festival. If youâre not familiar with him you might be familiar with his conspiracy theory, PizzaGate.Â
Posobiec knows how to terrify his MAGA fanbase. He began his speech by claiming that the Democrats were planning to put Trumpâs voters into gulags:Â
âYeah, we know what those are called. Those are called internment camps. Okay. Thatâs what that is. Theyâre called gulags. Go ask the Uyghurs in China about that. Go ask the Japanese how they were treated during World War Two about those camps. All right. Weâve done that before. Okay? Itâs happened. Now. Weâre being and now weâre being told that itâs going to be done domestically against our own population.â

The Proud Boysâ presence at the festival is the latest example of the far-right street-fighting gangâs willingness to forge alliances with fringe groups.
By Tess Owen
October 10, 2023, 7:04pm
In what can only be described as a meeting of minds, the Proud Boys appear to have aligned themselves with an ultra-fringe religious sect in Pennsylvania that worships with AR-15s.Â
The Sanctuary Church, also known as Rod of Iron Ministries, is run by Pastor Hyung-Jin âSeanâ Moon. Moonâs late father founded the international âUnification Church,â an alleged cult whose adoring followers were known as âMoonies.âÂ
The younger Moon, with the help of his brother Justin Moon (owner of a gun company, Kahr Arms) founded his own church in 2017, putting a militant, AR-15 centric spin on his fatherâs teachings.Â
This weekend, the church hosted its fourth annual âRod of Iron Freedom Festivalâ at the Kahr Arms warehouse in Greeley, Pennsylvania, about 45 miles from Scranton. The event included a performance by Pastor Moon, aka âKing Bullethead,â who rapped about putting pedophiles in âthe wood chipper.â It also featured a ceremonial burning of a pansexual Pride flag, speeches by failed local political candidates, as well as hard-right pundit and former Trump official Seb Gorka â and, of course, the Proud Boys. Some members of the church had traveled from as far as Korea and Japan to attend.Â
... the church has also cultivated local political influence that has helped draw the likes of the Proud Boys and âparentsâ rightsâ groups Moms for Liberty into their orbit.Â
... the younger Moon has sought to embed his church not only in right-wing politics but in MAGA culture. Moon and other church officials were tear-gassed outside the Capitol on Jan 6, and Moonâs sermons can be labeled, broadly, as Christian Nationalist.

MAGA Church Plans to Raffle a Trump AR-15 at Second Amendment Rally They consider the assault weapon to be an instrument of divine justice.
In July, former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated by a 20-year-old man wielding an AR-15-style rifle. That near miss hasnât stopped the Rod of Iron Ministries from holding a raffle this coming weekend for a special Trump-branded AR-15 at its fifth annual âFreedom Festival.â
Billed as the âlargest open carry rally in America,â the festival draws attendees to celebrate the Second Amendment and hear from headliners that will include former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, radio host Sebastian Gorka, former US Rep. Allen West, former Trump ICE Director Tom Homan, and Pizzagate conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec. Anyone who registers early for the free tickets can enter the raffle to win the Trump gun.
The Rod of Iron Ministries was founded by Hyung Jin âSeanâ Moon as a militant breakaway from the Unification Church founded by his father, the late Sun Myung Moon. [NOT a] graduate of Harvard Divinity School [see below], Pastor Sean Moonâs sermons and social media videos espouse a particular End Times theology that predicts a future overthrow of the American government. He believes the AR-15 is an instrument of Godâs divine justiceâthe ârod of ironâ invoked in Revelation 2:27.
Moon often wears a crown of bullets, carries a gold-plated assault weapon, and rides a Harley in a helmet with a creepy skeleton facemask. (Moon also seems to have musical aspirations: He raps under the name King Bullethead and will also perform at this weekendâs Freedom Fest.)
With the help of a $5 million loan from their father, Moonâs brother Justin founded the Kahr Firearms Group in 1995. It started off manufacturing mostly small arms designed to tap into the growing market for American-made concealed weapons as states began to relax their gun laws. It has since expanded, and now Kahr is a sponsor of âFreedom Fest,â which will be held at its TommyGun warehouse in Greeley, Pennsylvania.
Both Moons have cultivated significant MAGA ties, including with the Trump brothers, Eric and Don Jr. Kahr Firearms now offers several Trump-themed weapons, and the companyâs products are frequently promoted in Don Jr.âs weapons-themed outdoor magazine, Field Ethos. When the firearms company opened its TommyGun warehouse in 2016, Eric Trump gave a speech.
Given Sean Moonâs obsession with the downfall of the current American government, itâs no surprise that he was involved in the âStop the Stealâ movement to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. He was at the US Capitol on January 6, and while he didnât go in, he was close enough to get tear-gassed.

Hyung-jin Sean Moon did not graduate from Harvard College
Hyung-jin Sean Moon went to Fairfield University but did not graduate. He completed his first three years there with an undeclared major, then took the last couple of credits at the open enrollment (100% acceptance rate) Harvard Extension School to complete an undergraduate degree of A.L.B. Note: The A.L.B. degree is NOT a B.A. degree. They are entirely different. Bachelor of Liberal Arts (ALB) degree (artium liberalium baccalaureus). Claiming to have an undergraduate B.A. degree from Harvard College which has a 5.9% acceptance rate when you really have an A.L.B. degree from Harvard Extension School which has a 100% acceptance rate, is outright fraud.
