So this is the next (new) chapter of KimChay Mixtape. It's a fake article about WiK coming back to performing. But I wrote it and then I thought it would be fun to do a little mock-up and an hour later here we are.

KimChay MixTape Update 11/22/2022

So like....as I said I'm steadily writing, it'll probably be Christmas when I start posting, since I want to be at least 80% done before I post, so I can edit and post on a schedule. (If your interested in the fic, it's technically complete, you can read it here, I just had some more ideas.)

But I have a chapter where Chay joins WiK on tour while he's off from uni, it's gonna be a silly/sweet chapter, but the theme revolves around WiK being a very hot idol, and being quite cheeky at concerts/appearances...something that is a bit of a change from canon I guess, but it stems from personal growth of Kim to me (hopefully that will come across in the writing) just that he's able to be more free, less constantly on guard. I think that Chay's just generally affable nature will lighten him up considerably (the whole Theerapanyakul family honestly).

And for me, you may have noticed if you read my posts regularly, I consider dress/costuming/wardrobe to be pretty essential when it comes to character development, I think it shows a lot about them, so when I write I will often describe clothing, I have a little vision board (some more mental, some actual boards like my masquerade one I put up here), etc. and like...this look is going to make an appearance. It's so perfect. Like it certainly moves away from the more masculine looks we're used to with Kim/WiK, it has a feminine energy, but it's not quite soft. I'm honestly thinking he starts the show in his leather jacket, but then takes it off to reveal this...like can you imagine????

KimChay MixTape Chapter 3

So....I passed 1000 hits on the beginning of the story, so I'm gonn start posting the new chapters. I have NOT fully completed writing the story, but I am finished with the next 2 chapters so....hopefully I can maintain momentum. Now, An excerpt:

“What’s wrong with you,” Porsche asked, his voice teasing.  

“Kim,” Chay grunted out.  

Porsche’s demeanor shifted from amusement to irritation in a second and he ground out, “What did that little shit do?!”  

“Porsche,” Kinn barked, his tone reprimanding.  

“No Kinn. I wanna know what that little shit brother of yours did. Look at Chay! Are you gonna allow this,” Porsche questioned loudly, slapping the table with one hand.   

Placing a calming hand on Porsche’s own, Kinn focused on Chay. “What’s the problem?”

KimChay MixTape Chapter 6? 7...

Okay, so I'm a few days late, but like I said I'm at the point where I'm still writing so... and tbh this chapter was kind of hard.

This chapter is based on Drink, Swear, Steal, and Lie by Michael Peterson, and a bit more humorous. Also...I fully move into the explicit category with this one, so...

Here's your preview:

Macau laid back on his bed for a moment, deep in thought. Sitting up suddenly, he shot a finger in the air, “I’ve got it.” 

“Who?” 

“Tay.  He’s gay, he’s a friend of the family so he’s allowed in the house, and I have his phone number.” 

“You think he’d help?” 

“Can’t hurt to ask.” Macau stretched, reaching for his phone on a side table and sending a short text. 

Chay sat forward on the sofa, eyes locked on the phone in Macau’s hands waiting for a response. 

The phone rang almost immediately, and Macau answered, putting the phone on speaker so Chay could hear. 

“What the fuck does ‘eggplant emoji 911’ mean?  Because if you’re having a dick emergency you should call a doctor,” came Tay’s voice from the speaker. 

“Chay needs some advice, and I was hoping you could come by and talk to him.” 

“Why me?” 

“I don’t have relevant experience and only Vegas is home right now.” 

A deep sigh emitted from the phone. “Alright. I’m not busy right now.  I’ll be there in like half an hour.”

Kim Chay MixTape Ch. 5- Tangled Up in You

So I've updated with the next chapter...it's a bit over 15k, probably the longest chapter you're gonna get.

“How was Venice,” Kinn asked, changing the subject.  

“He was fine.  We went to the park, then did arts and crafts, and had lunch together.”  

“Yes, Chay brought me home a very lovely still life,” Kim said, fighting to keep a straight face.  

“Really,” Tankhun inquired, “I didn’t know that you paint.”  

Chay avoided eye contact, focusing on gathering another spoonful for Kim. “Well, it was oil pastels…” his voice faded out.  

“What he’s avoiding saying is that Venice’s current obsession is his rock collection, so they were the subject of the still life,” Kim filled in.  

“So, you drew a bunch of rocks,” Porsche queried, his voice tight as he fought back laughter.  

“Yes,” Kim replied, “very nice rocks.”

KimChay MixTape Chapter 10

So I FINALLY updated, I know I've been slacking. But here's a little excerpt:

Entering their rooms, he finds Kim sitting on the couch, his bags piled by the bedroom door. He’s settled back into the cushions, face angled up, with his forearm flung across his eyes. “You weren’t here,” he whispers roughly, not moving to look at Chay. “I’m sorry. I-- I was being stubborn for no reason.” Chay moves forward, shedding his shoes and coat, leaving them just to fall, and coming to kneel beside Kim. “I saw the video of you at the after party that’s all over Twitter, and it upset me, so I didn’t want to come home.” Kim does move his arm at his words, but as his gaze meets Chay’s he realizes that his confession has caused more harm. “I wouldn’t--” “I know,” Chay asserts again, hands moving to chafe softly across Kim’s thigh. “I know it’s my own insecurities. I let them get to me, because having you gone so much has been hard, and I just… don’t know exactly how to handle the jealousy.”

It's a bit of an angsty one, but also full of humor and some nice personal growth...and some sexy times....hope you enjoy.

Also, for some fun, just because I function better with visuals....these are approximately how I imagine their rooms at the Main family compound.

I only did some like basic decorating so you can get the gist, and the shower would have like fancy glass walls, but you get it. I also was kind of imagining they'd have like a mini fridge, but I don't have a pack with those, so...it's full size. But the door to what would be the hallway is in the bottom left, and the windows are just what was preset in the apartment, but I imagine that their bedroom has some windows on the wall the head of the bed is against, and that there are windows over the kitchenette/desk area, and perhaps some small ones in the bathroom, but like the small sort of transom style that don't open and are up close to the ceiling.

So....I've been writing on KimChay MixTape, but I had a bit of writer's block. I'm about done with chapter 5, which I'm hoping to finish tonight. (Update 2 hours later...I did not finish the chapter because I'm tired and I'm going to bed, but I did write 600 words of smut so...) I was thinking about how to proceed with a specific scene, and I had been meaning to make a cover image...so I did that. SO here you go...I hope you like it.

I'm determined to finish all the chapters before I start posting so I can maintain a schedule, so I'm sticking to that. I'm hoping to get things done fairly soon. KimChay Mix Tape Chapter 5

Alright, new chapter is up, here's a bit of a preview:

Porsche regained his voice, turning to point an accusing finger at Macau, “You taught him how to shoot a handgun.  I want to know who taught him to shoot a goddamn sniper rifle?” 

Standing, Porchay moved in front of his brother, “It was Major.  He’s the one who trains Macau, and after watching me, he said I was a natural.  We worked up to the sniper rifle about 3 months ago.  I practice every afternoon I go over to the minor family home.” 

“So today when I noticed you smelled like gunpowder, you lied to me,” Porchay accused, his finger swinging from Macau to Pete then Porchay. 

“Yes,” Porchay admitted, “I was practicing with Pete.” 

“Porchay,” Kinn interrupted, now also standing, and moved between Porsche and Porchay, “I appreciate that you want to help, but it’s very different when your target’s not made of paper.  Regardless of your level of skill in training, you would be a liability.” 

“No, I wouldn’t,” Porchay insisted. 

Porsche sighed, leaning to one side to meet Chay’s eyes, “What Kinn is trying to say, diplomatically, is that if you were with us on this mission, you would have to shoot to kill.” 

“I know.” 

“You’re not a killer Chay,” Porsche said, his voice resigned and sad. 

So my little snippet is very dramatic, and there's definitely some serious moments, but I swear there's also some humor.

KimChay MixTape free sample to help you cope with the lack of AO3

Since everyone is struggling a bit with the lack of AO3 right now, here's a link to the google doc of the first part of my Kim/Chay fic.

This is a complete story in itself, though I have continued the story since. It's mostly fluff and sweetness, at this point nothing crazy. Ratings-wise you're looking at G. I have absolutely no clue how to summarize it, but I'll do my best. It's a songfic with a chapter from Kim's perspective covering their relationship over the course of the series, essentially offscreen, in Kim's head. The second chapter is Chay's perspective and covers the months following the song video being sent.

Altogether it's a little more than 15k words.

Only trigger warning I think would be references to addiction, specifically alcoholism, but if you see others that I should add, please let me know.

Okay, so I haven't written more in this story since 12/26/2022 (a little over a week ago) so I have no idea what the current last line is. My concern is I tend to write really long sentences and that I don't know enough people to tag. But let's find out what we've got...

As their breathing slowed, they both began to drift off to sleep. It was a scene much like the one a month ago when Kim's nightmare had created a wedge between them. But this time there was no nightmare; only the warm light of the afternoon sun through the windows and Chay's soft powdered sugar scent.

I warned you about the run-on sentences...I mean technically I know this many people on here, but Idk if that many of them are gonna be interested in this....it's 17 people *crying emoji* . Okay...I'm gonna tag, but probably not 17 people, and definitely only people I think will moderately care.

Also...this is from my KimChay MixTape fic, chapter 5 to be specific. Chapters 1 & 2 are up on AO3, and are a complete set, since it was originally intended to be just a two-shot. I'm writing the rest of the chapters I decided I wanted before I start uploading to continue the story (but it will have 13 chapters in total, 12 that are KimChay centered and then what I'm calling the bonus track, which will feature Kinn, Vegas, and Tankhun.

KimChay MixTape Update 11-14-2022

I've decided I'm going to start dating these, since I post them so sporadically and I don't know how to do that thing where you make masters posts and stuff.

But...I've finished chapter 3, and gotten about halfway through chapter 4. I have bits of convos and stuff written for pretty much the rest of the chapters. But I was wanting to make a comment about a birthday...but as far as I can find there's no info on actual birthday for any of the characters. So...I decided I'll make them up, but I am a fic writer, which means that they have to have an appropriate zodiac sign. I know in Thailand, western astrology zodiac isn't a thing, but I'm not well-versed enough in whatever the Thai equivalent might be. To be fair, I am also not well-versed in western zodiac. I am not an astrology bitch (honestly it seems like a lot of work). So, instead I searched around and found these delightful journal pages from @xjacqulinx , links here: air, fire, earth, water which have some great info and basic breakdowns. Also they are very beautiful.

So here is where I have placed everyone as far as their sign (We're gonna go oldest to younges)t:

KimChay MixTape excerpt

So, I've just been writing scenes as they come to my head, but I had one that I just needed to share right away. For context this is a scene where Chay gets upset after going to the minor family house and witnessing Vegas and Pete teaching a 5 year old Venice how to get out of having his hands tied (they've made it a kind of game) and it ends up as an impromptu family meeting with the Kittisawat brothers fully baffled at why the Theerapanyakuls are okay with teaching this to a five year old.

Chay: It's weird you guys, I don't understand why you think a five year old needs to know that?!?

Pete: Almost six.

Vegas: Show of hands- who here has been kidnapped?

Everyone raises their hands.

Chay, with an exasperated sigh: I swear to God, I don't know how I ended up in this family.

KinnPorsche Week 2022- Day 3: Favorite Couple

I did you a bit of a favor today and chose not to write a full thesis and I MADE YOU SOMETHING! (I don't know that it should be called fanart; I'm an internet old and I would just categorize it as a photo manip, but idk.)

So clearly, my chosen couple for this is Kim x Chay. I 'm not going to say they're the best couple, and technically, by the end of season one, they're not really a couple anymore, but their story just really hits me. It hits me because for both of them it's their first love. Like, there is an age difference there (of about 4 years I'm guessing) and initially I think we assume that because Kim is older, more worldly, he would have experienced love before, but I don't think that's true. I think Kim has had romantic/sexual relationships, but those don't have to involve love. I think due to his upbringing he would reflexively keep people at a distance, and I especially think he would avoid even the possibility of a true connection after Kinn's experience with Tawan. (I have my own headcanons about Kim's feelings being used against him by his father, and how his past has affected him, but I won't get into those here.) I think the lyrics for Why Don't You Stay pretty clearly express this as well:

All this time I sink, drowning like a stone - Tryna close my eyes, shut my ears on this throne - Losing my way home, then you came along - Everywhere we are, felt like where I belong - Lost in your eyes there was no place I could hide - Take me inside and let me live in your mind - No pain tonight, this place is reserved for only you and I - 'Cause I wanna stay on your side - Even if the world come crashing down tonight, we'll be fine - Hold me close and we'll just leave it all behind - Why don't you stay

My point is that, we are watching two people truly fall in love for the first time with Kim and Chay, and it's unique from the other couples of the series because Chay is so unguarded. And you're rooting for them, and Chay is this adorable piece of sentient sunshine and Kim has always felt like he's drowning in darkness and he's desperate for that light. And you know Chay is lonely, and you know Kim is lonely and you just want them to feel seen, and heard, and important, just for being who they are. So as noted in the quote in the picture, with first love you open yourself more than any other time. Because at that point you've never been hurt by a romantic partner, you've never experienced that loss, so you don't hold back the way you do every future time. And this type of love is so wonderfully portrayed in the series. Like it's heartbreaking to watch, not because you know they won't work, but just because we're all watching this knowing that first loves so rarely turn into only loves. Like, we kind of know the likely ending, but we're still hoping so hard.

I also really love the connection with music for them. There's a quote "where words fail, music speaks" (Hans Christian Anderson, apparently, who would have thought) and that's definitely a central theme in their love story. Chay's first connection to Kim is through his music, and, yes there's the fanboy aspect, but as Kim can't help but open up, Chay's feelings clearly become more than just idol worship. Like, yes without a full understanding of who Kim is, there's no possibility of a workable relationship, but my point is that by episode 12 Chay's feelings were definitely about more than just 'loving his music idol.' And then we have Kim, who's probably dealing with someone for the first time who has a genuine interest in him as a person. He's literally spent his entire life being used as a pawn, being seen only as his name, a representative of his family, and then as WiK he's in this new position where he's more a product than a person. And remember that music connection; Chay loves the emotions in Kim's music, and he wants to know the person who made it. It's not just about WiK being famous. Of course Kim would find it incredibly hard to turn away from someone who SEES him, who WANTS to see him.

Watching Kim go through those moments over and over again where he's telling himself 'the best thing for Chay is for me to go', and warring with his heart because he doesn't want that. And like his siblings, he's never had the opportunity or ability to just allow himself to have something that's just for him.

I also do really like the creative decision of the show to present the depth of the relationship after it's already over. Like, you're watching these sweet moments for 7 episodes and then those last two where you fully get a glimpse of just how deep their connection had become, and your heart's broken all over again. It's just so well done.

I'm gonna stop here, because I should, and continuing on is just going to turn into character profiles, and that's not what this post is about. Special thanks to Jeff and Barcode for acting absolutely beautifully in this show. Absolutely amazing work.

Also, if you'd like maybe some insight into how I see Kim and this particular love story, I do have a songfic up (link). I'm working on a second chapter from Chay's perspective, but spending several hours a day writing these KP week posts is slowing me down a little.

KimChay MixTape update

I was hoping to have the next chapter up tonight, but life has been a bit exhausting and once I got the mixtape concept in my head I wanted to plan it out a little better, and so I had to actually put together like a rough draft of the overarching story....basically my minds been stuck on the drafting stage for the last week. With the mixtape concept I went straight to cassette tape mixtape, which are are usually 30 mins for each side, so I convinced myself I had to have enough songs for that. Then it was just a bunch of scrolling through my playlists and finding songs that I thought would work, then mixing those around to build out the story. Soo....there's no new chapter, and I'm not sure when that will go up tbh, kind of debating whether to update as chapters are finished or get the whole thing out and then edit and upload every couple days. If you've been reading the fic, please let me know if you have a preference.

What I did manage to do however is make a Spotify playlist of the songs I plan to use. Which you can listen to here:

It's currently in order of how I've planned the chapters out, but subject to change. Also-semi trigger warning for the song Hell is for Children (which is about child abuse). I actually skip that normally if I'm listening to the playlist, but it's a great fit for that chapter of the fic so... I just wanted to give a heads up, bc if you're not prepared and you are someone who consciously pays attention to the lyrics, it'll throw you.

I've also mentioned before that I am a bit of an internet old, and I have VERY broad musical taste, so the genres and ages of the songs in this playlist are kind of all over the place. I will say...I'm very lyric focused, so the musical vibe of the songs won't necessarily match the contents of it's designated chapter. Also...The songs, like the chapters are sort of alternating between Kim perspective and Chay perspective (though I did bounce back and forth between perspectives in my chapters, bc honestly that's easier for me when writing). So if you listen in order they'll be Kim-Chay-Kim-Chay etc. Final song I'm essentially considering a bonus track and is one I feel fits Kim, Kinn, and Vegas in their respective relationships.
