Random footy ask! I only saw bits of the Korea game earlier but would love your takes on what needs to change. Was sonny swapped from the centre to the left in the second half? Did Kangin just get marked into oblivion?

ah, it was a frustrating game. not the end of the world, but a proper wake up call for klinsmann regarding his tactics and starting xi choices. full credit to jordan, they did their homework and played with real fighting spirit! very hard to break down and very physical as well. didn’t play a low block and played their football, it was nice to watch. they had a lot of fans there and that gave them a bit of a home advantage.

first of all, personnel status. kim taehwan needs to start over lee kije. i’m not a fan of lee kije generally but even disregarding that, taehwan is just way more impressive going forward. second half was really bright from him and seol youngwoo - the two fullbacks made a lot of overlapping runs that led to a fair amount of chances. just no final ball today unfortunately. cho guesung was off it - i don’t know if he’s feeling the pressure as being first choice striker or if he’s just off form but i think a stint on the bench would do him good. i’d like to see more of oh hyeongyu up front. he’s very eager to impress and held the ball just a bit too long at times today (which i think frustrated sonny) but there’s a player there.

kangin is great, but he’s a young player. he runs hot/cold right now and that’s probably my biggest point of criticism with him and why i side eye kr bro tacticos that hype him up too much—he’s spectacular but he has to work on consistency within his performances and his game, especially now that he’s coming into his own and opponents know that and try to mark him into oblivion like they do with sonny. haven’t seen the stats but he got dispossessed a lot today and tried some long balls that were a bit over shot from the eye test. it’s a good game for his character, to come down a bit and know that he has to find a way past that and work on his game. he’s young, he will improve and find his consistency.

tactics wise… first half was sloppy apart from the penalty (which was super). it was kind of surprising honestly, team was clicking a lot more in the past few games chemistry wise, but this first half, oof. couldn’t put a pass together if their lives depended on it! second half was much better, more aggressive. lack of finishing was pretty much the curse today. i think klinsmann needs to just go through some attacking patterns with the lads instead of individual brilliance moment from sonny/kangin/inbeom/whoever and inshallah. loved the overlapping runs from the fullbacks today as said, and if he hones those a bit more in training and actually rewards players who play well with starts then things could be looking way better. getting heechan and jinsu back would be a huge boost, especially heechan!!! his physicality and his ability to drive into the box. i’d like to see sonny playing through the middle with heechan on the wing, that linkup is very dangerous.

think today was also in part sort of a underestimation on korea’s part, i don’t think the lads expected jordan to play the way they did which is why the first half looked so rough. the second half was much better in terms of determination and aggression. the conspiracy theorist in me is saying that they did this on purpose so they could see how japan’s group plays out and possibly avoid a clash in ro16 but i don’t think klinsmann is playing 5D chess 😭

But if we're going to judge the acting's skill of every cast, then there's a lot. You Make Me Dance has a pretty good cast, even for Chu Youngwoo who just debuted in this drama.

To My Star too, especially for the main casts, Son Woohyun and Kim Kang Min. Probably because they had prior experience in acting and they're purely actor, not some idol turned actor.

Also Sing My Crush has a great cast too, I think! Jang Doyoon himself said that the first time he saw Son Hyunwoo, he's simply just Hantae, and I wholeheartedly agree. Doyoon could portray Baram really well too!

Mình mới bắt đầu biết đến YoungDae từ phim Moon In The Day, phải nói là quá ấn tượng với phần diễn xuất nhân vật Do Ha, sau đó xem đến No Gain No Love thì thấy cũng bình thường (mình cũng từng review chi tiết khi xem là 1 phần do kịch bản xây dựng nhân vật KimJiUk quá trong sáng, đơn thuần, và tuy là nam chính nhưng thực chất nội dung phim là về câu chuyện của nữ chính và gia đình, nên có vẻ ko bật được phần diễn xuất của YoungDae), sau đó xem những bộ phim trước đó nữa. Thì theo mình nhận định tổng quát 1 chút thì có 2 bộ phim mình thấy nhân vật của KYD ko được xây dựng tốt, bị yếu thế, tính cách phản ứng của nhân vật ko đủ rõ ràng, thiếu sự phát triển, đó là bộ Extraordinary You và No Gain No Love —> lạ là KYD lại được nổi tiếng nhắc đến nhiều qua 2 bộ này —> mình nghĩ những bài chê diễn xuất của ẻm đơ và nhận được sự đồng ý của nhiều người là do họ chỉ xem 1 trong 2 phim này. Mà rõ ràng trong ExtraYou vai của em cũng là vai phụ xuất hiện cho có hương có hoa thôi 🥹🥹

Trong khi đó những phim kịch bản tốt hơn nhưng ít được nhắc đến như Moon In The Day, The Forbidden Marriage, Shooting Stars, Catche Me If You Can thì lại ít hoặc hiếm khi thấy nhắc đến cùng cái tên KimYoungDae 😔 Bộ The Penthouse thì vô cùng nổi tiếng rồi tuy cũng kén người xem, nhân vật của YoungDae thì rất ấn tượng, được nhiều người yêu thích, tuy là vai phụ nhưng nhân vật rất nhiều cảm xúc, đất diễn, mình biết nhiều người mê thể loại romcom thì ko xem phim này đâu nên ko biết rằng khả năng diễn xuất của ẻm có thể biến hoá cỡ nào 😎

Baseou-se ali durante anos, fazendo algumas visitas à família com a desculpa esfarrapada de que não poderia voltar pra casa por ter arranjado um emprego fixo muito bom; o que não era total mentira, mas se soubessem que o dinheiro ganho provinha de atos ilícitos, iriam surtar mais uma vez. Fazia todo tipo de trabalho sujo, se envolvendo com gangues, tráfico de drogas, mas o que Wonwoo podia dizer com todas as letras de que gostava mesmo, eram das lutas ilegais. Por algum tempo ficou trabalhando na organização delas, até que um dia surgiu a oportunidade que não perdeu de entrar no ringue, e isso não fazia apenas pela grana preta que ganhava por cada round, parecia ter uma predisposição natural em trocar porrada e com o efeito dos treinos de academia e boxe, aguentava bem vários socos e chutes. E, porra, como amava a adrenalina que sentia toda vez que entrava nos ringues.

A coisa só ficou feia mesmo quando um rival quis iniciar uma briga já do lado de fora da arena clandestina após ele perder a luta numa fatídica noite que jamais esqueceria. Wonwoo tinha enchido a cara com uns parças comemorando sua inúmera vitória, quando o babaca chegou querendo meter peito consigo e não deu em outra: o álcool em seu organismo fez seu sangue ferver, partindo pra cima do cara com tudo. Quando deu por si, estava sendo afastado por algumas pessoas de sobre o corpo sem movimento caído no chão, o rosto ensanguentado de alguns ossos quebrados e pele cortada pelo impacto do seu punho. Certamente tinha levado umas porradas, mas o cara estava bem pior. Pior o suficiente pra terem chamado uma ambulância e a Polícia junto, acabando fichado primeiramente por lesão corporal, mas pelo estado grave que a vítima se encontrava, durante o julgamento foi sentenciado a 7 anos de prisão por tentativa de homicídio, mesmo tendo a pena diminuída.

Não podia dizer que seu tempo na prisão foi bom ou ruim, porém teve muito tempo ㅡ dos 23 aos 30 anos ㅡ pra pensar sobre toda sua vida e criar novos laços. Estava longe de querer se redimir de todos os seus pecados, mas a liberdade tinha um sabor doce quando finalmente foi liberado. E que melhor jeito de tentar reaver sua vida, senão mudando de ares? A breve volta para Busan gerou briga com sua família, que demorou a aceitá-lo por perto após a saída da prisão, mas no final o coração mole de sua avó e mãe venceram, por mais que não tenha ficado muito tempo por ali. Acontece que alguns companheiros de cela e os antigos parceiros das gangues com quem trabalhava falavam muito sobre Kowloon, uma cidade chinesa que diziam ser cheia de oportunidades. Com uma ligação aqui e ali, Wonwoo arrumou uma mochila com suas roupas e largou tudo pra trás; melhor que arranjasse confusão longe de sua família dessa vez.

Até tentou mesmo ficar longe de qualquer problema e seguir uma vida digna trabalhando no que quer que fosse que aceitassem um ex-presidiário quando chegou lá, se virando pra resgatar a fluência no idioma, mas a real é que era difícil demais não acabar cedendo a velhos hábitos. Foi assim que, retomando uns contatos antigos e compartilhando de sua experiência no meio ilegal de Seul, acabou entrando pra gangue Tian, da qual faz parte há pelo menos 8 anos, voltando a competir nos ringues como diversão. A grana era boa, mas se aventurou na Red District, onde trabalha já há alguns anos como DJ, porém é possível vê-lo perambulando pela boate, algumas vezes agindo como segurança quando é necessário.

ah thank you so much for thinking of me as an expert on sknt footy that’s so sweet 😭🥺 i wouldn’t say that’s true but i know enough to answer your question! so as for other players on the nt (you mentioned in your other ask you know heechan so i’ll leave him out), there are a lot that are super fun to watch! i’m not sure who’s going to get called up since we’re between managers at the moment but going off of previous lineups i’d keep an eye out for:

lee jaesung (31, mainz, CAM/RW)

jaesung has been a cornerstone of the nt for ages, he’s the same age as sonny and the two of them link up very well. normally jaesung plays in the attacking midfielder role and that’s where he functions best in the nt, sometimes they try to shoehorn him onto the wing but that normally doesn’t get the best out of him. he’s been described as having an engine similar to park jisung. he just runs and runs and runs!

seol youngwoo (25, ulsan hyundai, LB/RB)

youngwoo is fairly young and has just got his first run out in the nt over the past year and he’s been doing pretty well! he’s very well regarded in both the k league and now in the world of football data outside the k league as well (there are rumours of prem clubs being in for him). he’s a good modern fullback and does well to support attacking play as well! also he’s the one who said on a tv show that he wrote ‘i want to play with son heungmin’ in his childhood diary, which is everything. wouldn’t be surprised to see this kid in europe sooner rather than later.

paik seungho (27, birmingham city, CM/CDM)

oh, seungho. i don’t know if he’s going to get called up honestly especially considering birmingham city also got relegated this season to league one. there’s a good player in there somewhere, he’s one of our ones who went to spain, like kangin and lee seungwoo, but then he lost his way a bit. he’s been good for the nt whenever he’s appeared for it, most notably scoring the consolation goal against brazil in the wc. i suppose we’ll see!

jeong wooyeong (24, vfb stuttgart, FW)

wooyeong has had an interesting season! he was the top goalscorer in the asian games last season but scored his first goal for stuttgart just a few days ago when bayern played them. there’s potential there, i think, he just needs time and a proper manager. he plays all along the front!
