Mercenary for Hire 17- Cursed -part 1
I have to re write this like  4 times...sorry
Her heart  beneath her chest beated faster as she ran. Her breathing became ragged with each step she took, and her palm sweated with the idea of him. The idea that she’ll finally get to see him, to ask him; Why? She finally reached the empty hall that led to the yard, the place where they were standing, where he was standing. Her heels clacked through the castle halls as she got closer, his ear perked up as the sound became louder. His eyes, those glittering silver eyes raised up from where they were, almost as if they knew, and just like that, they met those of honey. Kyrius halted as she met his gaze. Her steps stopped and she just stared. Was he really this close? Her chest raised up and down as she tried to catch her breath. Her lips parted to say his name, those pale rose colored lips.
“Killian?”
Allen, called out his pupil to get his attention, Killian had suddenly gone quiet, the man was normally one of few words but this was different. His silver eyes were fixated across the yard and passed his teacher and his wife. That spot right behind them, the hall to the castle. Killian almost felt as though he was being pulled, his body didn’t move, despite the urge to leave them there and walk passed, to run right to where she was.
“Dear?” Lily called, as she patted her husband’s shoulder and brought his attention to the spot those silver eyes never moved from, and  there,  she found the figure of her daughter standing by the hall.  Allen might not have noticed, but Lily's crimson eyes shimmered with mischief and a smirk tugged on the side of her lips. Her gaze moving between her daughter and the former mercenary,  the look of awe and longing on her husband’s pupil’s face was nothing short of intriguing.  She watched them, noticing as if they suddenly had gotten lost into each other’s stares.
“HONEY BEE!!” Allen all but screams his dearest daughter’s nickname  for all to hear and Lily all but chuckles as she sees her husband run over to where their daughter stands. With less than a couple strides, he reached the blond and held her hand on his own  “I’m so glad you’re here! Come with us is a great time to celebrate” he cheered and as he did, he walked back to where he had left his wife and his pupil. Kyrius couldn't even fight it, something didn’t allow her to.
Just as fast as he reached her, he reached his pupil and his wife but this time accompanied by Kyrius, his daughter.
“I know you expend most of your time in Geffen back then but allow me to introduce you dea –”
“ – Killian..” Kyrius's voice came out before that of her father’s and he only blinked before he looked at the dark haired man who stood there, with no words, eyes as blank as if his own soul had left his body.  He looked at his daughter confused, asking himself how she knew his pupil’s name. For all he knew, they never crossed paths “ – mercenary..” Kyrius continued and it was as if a light went off on Allen’s head.
“I almost forgot, you recently contracted a mercenary, did you not honey bee?” he chuckled. “ You must’ve seen him at the mercenary guild didn’t you? Perhaps even tried to hire him, haha knowing him he refused huh?”
She looked at Killian almost searching, asking for a response but his eyes showed no emotion, no reaction at all. Please say something. Killian's throat bobbed when his name came out of her lips and Allen all but slapped his back to elicit a response “Did the cat get your tongue Wrightstone? Don’t tell me you really refused? ” Allen asked and Kyrius looked in the direction of her father “Wright.. WrightStone?” she looked back at Killian as she said his given name, and he only bit his bottom lip.
“No I.. didn’t, I- I rather forget I was ever called a m- mercenary, leave that part of myself behind, and be better”
His words were cut off and his stuttered once again came back fuck.. He cursed himself mentally, how come the moment he saw her again his voice had such a hard time coming out.
“So, she did Hired you?” Allen asked and Killian cheek’s tinted ever so slightly and his head Shook
“N..No  – ”
“Killian…?” her voice cut  though his thought, so soft so gentle, he met her gaze but the hurt in her eye was unbearable, the glimmer of watery tears forming on her honey colored eyes, was too much to bear, so he looked away. What Am I doing? not yet, not like this… I’m sorry, Please.  Killian brought his hand into a fist and Kyrius's heart skipped a bit as his gaze pulled away.
“D- do you know who I am?” She asked with a smile, gently still, calm, Such lovely voice, such lovely tone.
“Yo- You’re... My teacher’s daughter” he replied but he fought himself not to say anything else,  it wasn’t the right time. What was he to say in front of his teacher? In front of her father.
“Is that all?” Kyrius continues softly, her honey eyes trying to meet those of Killian's silver. He couldn't take it, he couldn't do it, what was she expecting him to say? What could he say? He wanted to kiss her, but why would he? His silver eyes tried to come up to meet hers but her rosy lips tempted him. His hand grabbed hold of his folds and he kept his gaze on the floor.
“S-Shou.. Should I know anything else?” Kyrius bit her lips at the response, as her eyes darkened but the smile on her lips never faltered, “I see” she mumbled so softly no one but her could hear what she’d said. Does he not remember me?.
“Aww come on Kyrius, stop smiling at him like that!! He’s weak, he has a problem with women and you're making him uncomfortable, no one can resist that smile, sweet child!’ Allen teased looking at his daughter and what he thought was his embarrassed pupil.
Kyrius giggles and they all look at her, the way she giggled, the way she brought a hand up to her face to hide her smile and the way she looked up at the tree of them.
“Right, I – I’m sorry” she said and Killian's lips parted,  but they closed up again, what was he to say? her face showed nothing more than a smile, the brightest smile he’d ever seen, but for some reason, what she showed him, what he saw was pain.
Kyrius held in a breath to steady herself , and then let it go “ It’s  nice to meet you..Killian Wrightstone” Her voice cracked and she had to turn around, to prevent them from seeing the single tear that ran down her cheek “ C.. congrats… I guess..”. Kyrius turned on her hills faster than they could even get another word in and ran.
“Really!! Even while being shy you managed to scare her off Wrightstone!” Allen whined as he scolded his pupil whose eyes darted up from the ground and couldn't stop following her figure as she took off. Lily observed him and then Kyrius. Noticing the faint frozen steps she left as she ran. She wondered, what short of emotional grudge did her daughter hold against the man, or was it a grudge at all? Was this really because of their encounter as children, or was this more than what they let show?

Mercenary for hire chapter 16- part 2
While I’m posting My as well come with the next part, this only have  2 part didn’t see it fit to have 3
******************************************************************************************
He stepped out of the guild where his teacher and master awaited him with arms crossed, the heavy cling of the clothe he now worn sound with each step, he looked up at his master’s violet eyes whom look back at him with a email
“Good job Wrightstone”
Killian looked over his hand still not believing he was able to pass his chivalry test this time, thinking back at how stupid he must’ve been back when he was a teen, or just how damaged he must have been not to care about anyone for himself.
“Thanks…” Killian replied in awe, as he brought his hand up into a fist  not yet.. But a little closer. He felt the hand of his tutor hook his neck and he almost fell over.
“Alright let's celebrate!” Allen cheered, and  Killian managed to get away. It had become a habit of his teacher to hook him up like that. He tried to fix his hair as he pulled back, he had listened to his teacher’s wife and gotten it cute, and away from his silver eyes. He didn't’ have a way to covered his scared face, but Lily had said his eyes where his best featured.
“Don’t go overboard, I still have a long way to go”
Allen huffed, and crossed his arms above his chest “ You really can’t be thinking of taking off to become a Lord Knight so soon, what’s the rush?” Allen brow raise and Killian silver eyes looked up at the sky where the sun shine bright
“The sun doesn’t wait for no one, so I got to move”
Allen chuckled, he didn’t know why but the man had been making way too many references to the sun in the last couple weeks.
“Alright then, let's get back to the training ground , I’d like to reach out to my mentor so we can get you settle”
                                                                  ◘
Kyrius was prompt up on her desk at her Prontera home, while going over some of her most recently acquired books, the mage guild had sent her a request for translation and she wasn’t thrilled about it. It wasn’t because she hated the job, she welcomed any request that was made of her from any guild, but this one was written in a language that was hard for her to grasp.
She tried to reach out to some of her friends to help, but they were all occupied with other matters.  She played with the plume on her finger as she paid a little too much time to specific runes she couldn’t make out. A  cup of tea was place on the side of the desk and she looked up to find her familiar
“You needn't lose yourself in work, you have bags under your eyes” Kyrius looked into his crimson eyes and saw worry in them. Before she grabbed a compact mirror she kept it on her desk.  “You needn't lie to get me to stop working” she restored as she put the compact down. The incubus almost but growled at her reposed, he was a little over protective of her at times
“I know you’re just worried , But I’m okay. My head’s been all over the place lately and I am having a hard time concentrating.. Can you send a word to my mother? I'll be needing access to the castle library.. There is  just a couple Runes I can’t seem to recognize”
Chase nodded and with a swift motion he disappeared into the shadows. She knew her incubus would reach her mother faster than any courier she sent their way, which meant  she would have access by this afternoon at the latest.  Kyrius made sure she gathered what she needed and ready herself.  Her hair was prompted up in a ponytail with strands of braids that were tight from the front to the back and  her usual braided crown across her head.
She made it to the castle. She wanted to finish this job as soon as she could, part of her didn’t mind it, but another part of her wanted to leave and go somewhere, where she didn’t have the constant reminder,  the constant looming desire to go find him. To show up at the mercenary’s guild and ask for him. He’d been gone since that day, and no one had heard from him. At least no at the guild
Within no less than an hour she got word back from her incubus, her mother was at the library for once, which was actually perfect for what she needed to confirm. So Kyrius made her way to the castle and once there she walked through the halls and into the double doors that  lead to the Castle library.
“Hello Ms Keeper”  one of the guards greeted, she greeted back.
“I’m here to see my mother” The guard looked at the woman up and down, the glimmer on his eyes evidently. She was used to those stares, they had scared her once, they had made her feel like an odd creature, made her retreat into a shell before. But she grew into those looks now, she grew used to the eyes that wondered her figure those who always saw her for the beautiful thing she was, and not the warlock in front of them.
“My mother?” she asked again and the guard had to cough himself into reality.
“Oh right, Ms Lily is at the training guard, Sir Allen mentioned something about a celebration”
Kyrius tilted her head to the side and blinked in surprise. She was used to her mother waiting for her to arrive, but if her father had called her out. Knowing how close her parents were, she knew her mother would pick him over all. Kyrius chuckled, a love like the one her parents shared was something  to cherish after all.
“Alright I’ll go meet them”
Kyrius roamed the halls looking for her parents who somehow were more difficult to find than a needle on a haystack. “Where could they be?'' she looked around with books in hand   before she heard the loud laugh of no one but her father “alright! Follow the sound!” she grinned remembering a game they played as children where her father always lost because of his laughter. She reached the veranda and looked down to see if she could spot her targets, soon enough the lilac color of her mother’s hair caught her attention.
“Bingo!” she cheered with a smile. But the smile on her face halted, when her lips parted as if she couldn’t believe what she saw. Standing there,  between her parents. Face as serious as it could be,  dark rich skin and eyes, as silver as the full moon at the top of a night sky.  The books she held in her hand were almost instantly discarded as they fell to the floor because of her shock. Her legs moved  on their own, and she ran.  Why are you here?” she asked herself  internally  as she frantically tried to find a way down to them, to him.

Mercenary for Hire Chapter  10- Pt 4
He may act tough but he’s a soft bean teddy  bear okay?
*********************************************************************************
“Mr Wright!  Good morning, will Ms Kyrius be having breakfast out on the terrace today?” he heard Cecilia,  the one maid who didn’t fear him, the one voice he didn’t hear last night amongst the others.
He did not look back to see her “ I don’t know, ask her yourself. I’m leaving” he mumbled, his face darkened as he spoke. Cecilia arch a brow skeptical of his words. She had eyes. She saw how he cared for Kyrius. “Are you sure you want to leave now? What about Ms Kyrius? Did you two have a fight?” she asked worriedly.  She’d also seen how Kyrius saw him. “ Nevermind her.  S-she’s fine, I’m  just.. leaving” she noticed as his gaze met the floor at the  mention of the blonde.
Cecilia explained to him about the room's arrangement as she did Kyrius and said he was free to go. He walked away and out of the establishment.  she looked worried, why would a man so infatuated as he was, leave without the woman he was  infatuated with. She walked to the backroom and saw her colleagues talking, more like gossiping she thought.  Nevertheless, she sighed and approached.
“Do any of you know if something happened between Ms Kyrius and the mercenary?”  they all shook their heads “odd.. He up and left just now.. It's the crack of dawn and there is no sign of Ms Kyrius?” she heard her colleagues snickered
“Well, better that way,  I was wondering when would he stop being such an eyesore” one of them murmured “ next to Ms. Kyrius, of course, jeesh how dare he put his eyes on her” the other one  spoke, and  Cecilia frowned.
“What do you all mean? Mr Wright brought back mis Kyrius in one piece, if it wasn’t for him who knows what would’ve happened to her” she spatted to her colleagues whose gazes lowered in shame “Just because he isn’t a knight or a crusader, or any other job you deemed worthy. Does not mean he’s a bad person, or a lesser candidate… At least Ms Kyrius doesn't seem to think so, she wouldn’t think  of anyone that way, and certainly not Mr Wright”.
Her colleagues slumped on their chairs as they were scolded, Cecilia was right. What they did, what they said. It wasn’t something Kyrius would ever do, she wouldn't care about those kinds of superficial things. She was kind and caring to everyone, anyone. Cecilia sighed. “What if he heard you bunch? What if what you said made him think the worst of Ms Kyrius?”. The maids said nothing,  they just continued to talk amongst themselves.
                                                          ◘
It was almost high-noon  by the time the airship reached the city of Izlude. He was fighting himself about how he had just left as soon as the sun came out, and what would she think of him. But the maids were right, he looked over at his calloused hand and remembered how they felt holding on to her small delicate one, how he said her name so clearly, over and over again. He blushed before stepping out, he walked to the mercenary guild soon enough and Vera looked at him surprise
“Oh! There you are, you rascal! You took off and said nothing!!” she scolded, but soon stopped, noticing the gloomy aura that surrounded the tall brawny man.
“You look like you've been caught on a stampede of Savages. Sit, I’ll serve you food” he sat  and as she said, she came back with a trail filled with assorted meats.
“So, did you take that ladies request after all?” Vera finally asked, he did take off the day she mentioned the blonde would depart on her request. At the mention of the warlock,  his mood seemed to worsen. She has no idea why. She brushed her hair confused.  “Whether you took it or not, it doesn’t matter, afterall you didn’t even brought a contract with you”
He took a bite of his food, he realized what Vera hinted at,  no contract no pay, no contract no obligation, and still he left, he went, he accompanied her. “It’s fine.. I don’t mind not getting paid for that job” Vera’s expression shifted, she’d known the man since he was a teen,  she was surprise when the captain of the Royal guard dropped him off, but he was a hard worker, and he was determined to work his way up, to earn as much money as he could. So it stumped her that he didn’t care about this  job, especially because the warlock was being more than generous.
“Oh I get it” She mused, causing him to finally look up from his plate “ you fell for the pretty blonde didn't you?” Vera teased, not knowing  how true her words had been. He choked on his meal. She wasn’t expecting that reaction from him. She waved a hand in dismissal. “ what am I saying,  you’re the most awkward dude around women, even if you fell for the pretty lady, there would be no way you acted on it”.
He almost growled, remembering that he actually did acted on it. She acted on it. He slammed his pitcher down on the table  and her eyes widened.
“ I’m going back to the dorms… Don’t bother me”
Once again she was surprised. The man had spoken clearly to her, no stutter, no hesitation, his greatest source of teasing had been his stuttering around women, but now he had not stuttered. Vera crossed her arms intrigued, whatever he went through with the pretty warlock must've really done a number on him, she just couldn’t tell if it was for better or for worse.

Mercenary for hired chapter 15 - realization - part 2
The scent hugged her gently, warm her up and kept her from getting up the bed, this scent that reminded her so much of her safe place, of him. She curled up in the bed hoping to take in as much as she could hoping to keep the remnants of him next to her, but the Sun had other plans. Her eyes fluttered when the sunlight hit the peak of her room and she sat on her bed. Hair completely unruly, curls popping out of everywhere in her blonde head oh hair, eyes partly open and her sleeping shirt falling off one side of her shoulder. “Killian..”
She mumbled realizing what that scent reminded her off, she held the sheet on her hand and brought it up to her face inhaling deeply as she tried to understand where that scent had come from, but there was nothing, she could not find a single trace of that spearmint and moss field scent that kept her up at night the one her Incubu had said was entangle with hers. She looked around the room, it wasn’ her home. She blinked a couple times to try and remember what had happened the day before.
“It’s my parent's house” finally coming out of her sleep trance she placed her feet on the wooden floor, it was cold, it always was in her rooms, regardless of where she stayed. Kyrius tried to smooth out her hair with her hand before the shadows of her familiar came out of the corner.
“Master” he called and Kyrius looked up at the tall figure of her familiar, long blonde straight locks of hair falling down his back, a bare chest and crimson eyes to match her mothers. She smiled “ are you in a better mood today my dear friend?” he reached  for her and tangled his finger with the lock that fell in front of her ears, gently proceeding to braid the side of her hair.
“It’s my job to protect you, I owe no apologies to anyone, as to what methods I used to do so” he finished braiding the side of her hair into a crown that went across her head and a poring pin appear on his hand which he used to clasped the rest of her braid to each side of her hair.
“I know” she whispered and as she stood up he was gone, disappeared the same way he’d came in, through the shadows. She grabbed her clothes that were waiting for her at the side of her door and freshened up before going downstairs. She found that the house was empty, neither Allen or Lily were in, and neither was the pupil her father kept. She sighed in relief, if her parents weren't there, it wouldn't be a good idea to stay alone with the man who’d caused her such distress, not once, but twice now.  She walked to the kitchen she knew her mother to make her favorite scones in the mornings,  when she stayed over, and she’d be damn if she left without one.
Though as she approached the kitchen her steps came to a halt, stopping as she went past the back door,  but it wasn’t the back door she saw, instead the stand in which her father kept his swords. There was his and Saya’s Claymore’s. Her father only used the sword to train as he was partial to spears and polearms, and her sister was more of a broadsword lady then a simple two handed blade. But there was a third. Not a claymore, she didn’t recognize the sword, given she wasn’t a smith or a knight to know about them, but living with two, she’d seen her fair share of blades. This one through.  At first glance it looked like a claymore, but the hilt was black and it was embellished with golden accents. She had a feeling she had seen this sword before. And then there it was, again, that feeling of security and warmth and comfort. The scent of spearmint and mossy field surrounded her as if it lingered around her, as if it was part of her.
“Why?... stop playing with me” she whispered to herself as she hugged herself in the middle of the kitchen her eyes closed as she felt his arms instead around her. She had to stop. Had to stop burying herself in these memories, in this feeling, in this ghost, she had decided to let go, but couldn’t.

From Lily to Killian
"She fell again… and this time he didn’t leave, he didn’t tarnish her, he truly did love her, with everything he was,  just like you love her…
Killian gulped, if she had someone who loved her so deeply, what  hope did he have at ever winning her heart.
“You already have” Lily replied almost as if she read his mind.

Mercenary for Hired Ep  16- part 1 - Found by Sunshine
Prepare to die
*************************************************************************************
Over a week went by since he started to spar with the one they called Blood Rose, his master’s son in law.  Day by day he got re-acquainted with the skills he had been  so adamant to tap into. The training he received while being ordered around, while being nothing but a shell of a man, while being nothing more than a slave, and a killer. He panted, pulling back, after having blocked one more of the redhead’s attack.
“Is that all you got!” Killian smirked and held on to his sword while supervised by his teacher who watched from the veranda with a grin across his lips.  Allen chuckled, leaving it to his own pupil to get cocky over these last couple of sparring sessions.
“Keep Pushing Wrightstone” Rose replied before he took back his stance. The redhead appreciated this training session, and thanked his father in law for them; it had helped him in getting better at controlling his powers after he nearly poisoned his own wife. He still resented that, especially since she stayed away from him for a while after that. He sighed and crossed his katar in front of his face before launching back, it had been a great way to unwind and let out his frustrations, he appreciated the squire for that.
The sound of steel on steel could be heard as one attack was blocked and the other blow came into contact with the another. They were almost evenly matched.
“He’s gotten better” Allen heard the voice of his lovely eldest daughter come into the veranda as she leaned in on the stone railing, a baby dragon by her side,  hovering over next to her as her hand patted the creature's snout.  “Glad you think so I was thinking maybe he could retake the Chivalry quest by the end of the week”
Saya stood straight , her long straight sky blue hair, brought up in a ponytail sway as she did. “Do you think it is a good idea? He isn't bad. As I remember last time he breezed through the practice exam… it was his heart that betrayed him” Saya commented and  Allen chuckled.
“You were just as big of a trouble maker as he was,  safe me odin you’re still a troublemaker, thank the gods, for that Boyfriend of yours that keeps you in check” Allen retorted and Saya huffed annoyed at the comment.
“Unlike him I knew what it meant to be a Knight, even if I had my own resentments and quirks. He didn’t… also the man couldn't lie to the examiner and say he wanted to protect the party?” She swayed her hips to the side and her father almost hit the back of her head. What type of daughter did he have? “Also, Holy’s outside. She asked if I could asked Rose to come meet her, so if you don’t mind releasing my sister’s ball and chain for a minute” Saya once again patted the dragon on his side as she turn on her heel “ Thanks dad bye~” she mused leaving a confuse Allen on the veranda alone.
He sighed and  motioned for them to finish  their sparring session before he motioned for Rose to go meet his daughter, not without teasing him about a grandchild before he left, which granted a chuckle from the dark skinned male.
“Keep laughing and I’ll find that reason of yours and tell her about your cowardice,” Allen teased, and Killian almost but stopped talking. Especially since he had a hunch his reason was closer than he thought .  “Good luck with that '' The man replied before picking up his sword and putting it away, he was determined to stay as far as he could from her,  at least until he could call himself worthy. He was sweaty and sore from all the exercise and training. Allen just looked him over with arms crossed.
“What do you think about going with me to the knight guild, and taking your chivalry test” The blonde spoke his amethyst eyes tracing as his pupil stop in a halt and put his sword away with a shaking motion, he didn’t turn back to see his master he only stared at the sword in front of him and the memory of his first chivalry quest flooded his mind.
“Do you really think I’m ready?” He all but mumbled his words still facing the swords. All he heard was Allen “mhm” and he turned to see his teacher, the determination in his amethyst eyes told him he believed  he could,  that he was ready, that he could do anything he put his mind to.
“ Alright.. Let's do it”
That day he walked  back to the room he decided to rent  in Prontera, while he was training he wasn’t working or even accepting a simple request from the adventurers guild, but he had saved enough money over the course of the years that allowed him this much. He went by the market and got some of his rations for the day before he passed by a jewelry shop. A single piece caught his attention, he’d seen it before. He approached the  vendor before he saw the single earring on the table,  it was a single stud with a long silver chain and at the end, a shimmering clear scale.
“Excuse me” the merchant turned to see him and almost dismissed him, his ragged appearance, likely putting him off. He sighed, he outta listened to Lily and at least get his haircut. “Sir Is that an Ice Scale?” The merchant's ears perked up, not everyone was able to recognize the good he displayed.
“Why yes, it is, are you interested?” the merchant asked this time. Killian couldn’t keep his eyes off it as he nodded “ how much?” he asked and the merchant gave him a price twice as much as the reward he’d gotten from the warlock for hunting it. He thought about it for a minute before he even  made a decision. What were the chances this was the same scale?
“Fine” he brought out the satchel and paid for the thing, the merchant wrapped it carefully and he took it back to his room. The room he rented was in the second level of the a building close to the market, it was but a Rectangular space, a full size bed at the end of the room by the window, and small coffee table in front of it, a bathroom to the right of the entrance and a small kitchen that serve his purpose, an island that separated the kitchen from the area where he slept and two bar stools.  The window at the end was more like a sliding door that allowed him access to a small balcony.
He took out some seeds from the bag he brought with him to refill the bird seeder outside, before sitting on the bed  and looking at the earring he’d just bought, he agreed he’d take the chivalry test later that week, two days from the current day.  He stared at the silver earring and the shimmering scale in his hand.
“Soon… Just wait for me a little longer, please”.

Mercenary For Hire Chapter 14- part 2
Back at Izlude, Allen watched over his pupil as he went over the course in the backyard, he remember dropping him off at the mercenary’s guild when he was distraught after not being able to become a Knight, he was good and he was still good, but back then he’d been broken, and now, he could not point it, he could not understand why, but the man he called his pupil had grown. Not because he was now a man, but something in his eyes, and the way he talked, told him, somewhere, somehow, he may have started healing.
“Alright  Wrightstone, I want you to  cut down that dummy over there, and don’t stop until I see his head roll”
Kyrius had trouble walking alongside her mother, the runes had been placed yet again on her body but in the process excess mana had to be drained out of her. Lily had made sure she didn’t go home , made it a point for the warlock to come back to her  childhood house for  the  sorcerer to observe her and she had agreed.
“It looks like your father is in the back training, shall we go pay him a visit?” Kyrius looked over at her mother who was overly cheery still,  despite the amount of magic they both had  expended  during the ritual, but nonetheless she agreed. She knew her father would appreciate seeing her,  he was the overbearing papa bear that her mother wasn’t, and had always doted on his daughters a little more than what he needed, so when they all left he was the first one to check on them almost every day.
As Kyrius stepped closer to the backyard where the training ground her father build with his own hand stood, she felt something hit the ground and  touch her feet, everything was still a little fuzzy from her earlier endeavor,  but as soon as her brown eyes meet the floor the dummy head lay on her feet,  sending back memories of her as a child and her voice became a scream.
Allen and Killian whom where closed heard the scream and  Allen stood to his feet  as soon as he heard it
“Fuck, that sounded like honey bee.. Stay here Wrightstone, I‘d hate for you to be caught up on a magic current, our little ice princess can be a little bit of a menace at times”
The dark haired man looked him over, he wasn’t sure what he meant but he trusted his master, though something about that scream sounded familiar,  he just couldn’t place it.
About an hour went by, where he continued going over the course, his master place for him, though when he didn’t come back and the sun was coming down he decided to head back inside the house.  As he walked through the door, he noticed Lily was in the kitchen and his master was coming down the stairs.
“Is everything okay?” Killian asked curiously as he rested the sword he was given  in its place before he entered. He saw his master sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.
“I swear you gone and done it again Wrightstone” Killian eyes blinked confused as to what he meant, before he received a glass of water from Lily.
“He’s talking about Honey bee. Sweet boy, you’ve gone and scare her off her wits again. Allen got the guest room ready, since we’ll most likely keep Honey bee here overnight ”  Lily  explained this time, making sure whatever she was brewing in the kitchen didn’t burn.
“I.. it was not my intention!” He immediately  responded and was met with a pat on the back from the Lilac hair woman.
“Honey bee will be fine, she just went through a lot, eventually she had to blow up” He sighed a little relief at the words. He knew the reason one of the daughters couldn’t stay at the home was because he’d made the wrong impression, and she became scared of him, to think he’d done the same after so many years.

Mercenary for Hire Chapter 14 - Coincidences
“Again”
The stern voice of his teacher was heard as he was seen slashing through the body of a training dummy. He’s been at this since the sun came out and he have had no rest, as all he did was angled his sword, and slice, slash and repeat.
“Again”
Allen yelled again and so he did as he was told, it wasn’t like he wasn’t used to training, but it had been a while since he was last  subdue to his master training method. He remembered  those were the same training method he subjected his elder daughter to and for what he heard she turned out to be something.
“Allen!” They heard the voice of a woman coming from the hall in their vicinity. Her figure was tall and slender, and her hair a light color blue, her eyes though, a shade of amethyst that rival that of his master.
“Can you call me dad for once in your life Blue bell?” She grunted and Killian's eyes widened  at the sight of the rune knight.  That was Sayasaki Keeper? Her mere aura was menacing, not to mention her narrow hooded eyes had a murderous wind to them.
“Fine, dad, I need the training rink. When are you going to be done?” She asked, a hand placed on her hip as she swayed them to one side. She wore the Rune knight uniform, but unlike most, a black bodysuit covered the rest of her body, where the armor did not.  Killian’s gaze met hers and for a minute he shivered “Who’s that?” Saya asked, looking his way  and then at his stance, analyzing every inch of the man’s position.
“ That’s My pupil,  you remember Killian?” Saya raised a brow, trying to recall whom he meant but she was drawing a blank,  much to Allen’s disappointment. He trained them both in the same grounds, they faced each other multiple times, needless to say, Sayasaki always won. Was the Rune knight really so dissociated with everything around her she would not remember?
“Can’t place him… but he has a good grip on his hands. Work on his foot work though, he’s slow” she grinned looking over at the dark haired man “ You two have ten minutes, before I come over and kick you both out” Allen groaned, his daughter had become a pain since she was appointed as reconnaissance captain. He liked her better when she was a lazy knight who drank booze all day and fought at the arena for fun and glory.
“Alright Wrightstone pick it up,  we’re heading back to Izlude for the rest of the day” Killian flinched, he hadn’t been called by his given name in so long. The name Wrightstone, the one given to him by his master when he was found in that cave, when he lost all hope. When he was borderline dead alongside all those other kids.
He picked up the sword that he was given and followed his tutor, he’d heard what the runed knight said about his footwork, it shamed him to know his flaws were out in the open for anyone to see. Then again, she did train under his master, so maybe not just anyone could see his flaws. They walked through the hall on their way back to the Izlude home, where he knew more dummies awaited them, more training.
Lily walked right through the gate, passed the same hall, missing her husband and his pupil. Her blonde hair brown eyes daughter falling into stepped behind her. She stopped though, as the scent of spearmint lingered around them, such a familiar scent, calming and lovely.
“Kyrius?” Lily called out and Kyrius looked back at her not having the time to even turn her head to find where that familiar scent was coming from, “coming mom”
They felt into step together and soon reach the castle library where books floated about as they walked, scholars greeter the sorcerer and she said nothing, the picture of poised perfection, as her lilac hair flowed gently and the hibiscus at each side of her head made her look younger than she was, who’d thought she had three grown daughters.
“Alright honey bee, let’s try and fix those runes for you” Kyrius nodded and just like that disappeared behind a door with her mother.

Mercenary for Hire Chapter  12 - Part 5
As the familiar chime of the front door rang it marked the warlock's departure from the place, and Vera looked at the pouched left in her counter the one she now held in her hand, and her eyes darted to the back door. She moved with all intention to murder the man if it wasn’t because he was already dead beat as she stepped through the door she found him. Defeated and deflated, leaning against the wall, his face covered mostly by his overgrown bangs.
“I froze” his voice lower even so than what it normally was, she stared his hand clench into a first at his sides.
The coin purse hit his feet and the golden round currency fell at his feet as the coins hit the ground, he didn’t look.
“Take it, she said you earned the mission reward not her '' Vera crossed her arms, unsure what to say, how to feel, about this all situation as she saw him slump into the floor and bring his knees up to his chest.
“Wright why? Why  do you insist on hiding from her? What are you afraid of? ”
“I’m not afraid” his silver eyes showing from under his bangs as he eyed the coin purse. Then back to the ground and hugged his knees tighter to himself like a babe who cradled himself for comfort. Before Vera could reply  to him he continued.
“She’s like a shining star. No. She’s like the sunshine, warm, comforting and  bright, beautiful , and unattainable” nothing but sorrow came from his tone, and vera just waited, waited for him to say anything else, for his self loathing to end “I’m just a mercenary,  next to her I’d do nothing but to dimmed that bright light, stained the sunlight and bring nothing but shame to her. By being by her side I’d be but a shadow looming around her perfect smile, why did I think I could be anything else? Why did I dare dream I could have some warmth and comfort for once?” He covered his eyes on the palm, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to come down his eyes. “ They were right, gosh they were  right, I’m not enough, I’m just a lowly mercenary and I’ll be nothing but that.”
Vera groaned and with less than a strike forward she kneel  next to the man, and pulled him by the hair forcing him to look at her, she could see his silver eyes fogged up with the sadness that overcame him and the self deprecation he felt for himself “Who the fuck put those ideas in your head boy?!”  his eyes widened as his silver met those of the woman and all he saw was rage.
“The fact that you’re a mercenary means absolutely nothing!” she all but yelled at him as she pulled so hard on his hair it made him wince “Whoever drilled those ridiculous notions into your head need to put on some reality glasses” Vera let go of his hair with such force he almost stumble to the floor before she stood
“The way I see it, you’re in love with her, and yes she may be all that, she could be the Sun incarnate for all I care. I don’t doubt it” he bit his lips listening to her “ But let me tell you something, fight! Wright fight for that sunlight, because at the end of the day The moon loves the sun and despite their distance she loved him, even though they only get to meet at dawn and twilight they still love  each other despite their difference”
The man chuckled at the comparison “Are you comparing me to the moon? Really?”
“That’s exactly what I am doing, Idiot!! If it wasn’t because the Sun loves the moon so deeply it chooses to share its light with it, we wouldn't have the brilliant moon we see every night, the Sun brings out the best on the Moon,  and the way I see it,  Since she came into your life, You’re becoming that which you were always meant to be, she bring the best in you... So  take that money,  go find her, but if you still feel like you’re not enough to stand by her side, do something about it! Become someone who’s worthy to be  by her side, become someone worthy to be the moon to her sun, you and I know you can do it” his gaze finally went up from the ground to hers, she could see his silver eyes shine with determination.
“That’s it.. I’ll be… her Moon..”  Vera grinned as she saw him take the coin purse and ran out of the establishment. To the one person he knew, believed in him more than anyone would, the one person who’d help him become what he needed to, the one person who’d help him become the sun’s moon, because he… his master was also a sun.

Mercenary for Hire Chapter  12 - Part 4
He continue to tab his foot on the floor, he was getting restless at this point, it’ve been a week since he’d make up his mind, and he could feel his resolve slipping, he didn’t think it would be this hard to meet her,  she’s been coming to find him for the better half of last week and now, now she was nowhere to be found. He  brushed his hair back, finally getting on his feet, he’d been doing that every so often, he kept sitting down and standing back up, now he was pacing.
“Keep on doing that you’ll make a hole in the floor” Vera quipped. The picture of calm, as she was cleaning the glasses behind the counter
“I don’t.. I don’t get it..”
Vera shrugged “ Told you she was tired, maybe she’s done chasing after your flaky behind”
He glared at Vera, his silver eyes narrowing in a mixture of annoyance and impatience, suddenly he stopped as if realizing something “ you! Vera, you got her information from the request, tell me where she lives” He came so close to the counter his face was almost inches from her.
“ don’t be ridiculous Wright,  you’ll be borderline stalking her if you do that” she pushed him away with a finger on his forehead, and he groaned before letting his head down on the counter.
“I don’t want to do that”.
Vera laughed loudly, she’d had the best couple weeks so far since the male came back from his mission and she found out he was with the blonde.
The familiar chime of the guilds door opening  came up and his eyes darted to the door the familiar figure stand at the threshold, her ash blonde hair swept to her side on a braid, and at that moment, the moment her sweet honey scent, filled the room, the moment the light radiated from her mere presence, at that moment all the courage he’d gathered, the determination, it all left his body as his knees buckled at the sight of her, and his body, his body moved almost immediately, not to where she was but, behind the counter, again
“ Seriously!!!” Vera yelped, seen as the man rushed inside the back room this time around. He was sure, Vera was fed up with him and may have just drag him out of there, but as much as he thought he’d had the courage to face her, he realize at that moment, maybe he was not.
“ What happened to : I’m talking to her?!” she complained from the other side of the door and he only replied with a grunt.  Though Vera could do nothing but halt when she heard the man’s voice from the other side.
“Vera!” Kyrius’s  voice was soft as she spoke not cheery as often “I’m guessing I’m out of luck today too huh?” she smiled sadly, and  Vera said nothing, though without her noticing she looked over her shoulder at the door that stood behind her.  Behind it laid the man she was looking for. How she wished she could just drag him out of the backroom and present it to the blonde like some kind of trophy and just collect the reward she offered.
“ Sorry pretty thing, he’s not here” from the other side of the door he lowered his face as he listened to the conversation, aching, asking himself why was he such a coward? but at the same time reminding himself, this cowardness, was just one of the reason why he didn’t deserve her.
“ is alright Vera, I didn’t come with the intention to find him anyway.  I know you can’t take the payment for the request,  but can you at least give him this?” Kyrius brought up a coin purse, it was hefty, Vera knew as it made a thud sound as soon as it hit the counter.
“ It’s not the wages for the job.. Is the reward for the quest.. I didn’t do a thing, to be honest, I was actually more of a burden than anything. If it wasn’t for him, I would’ve been dead.. So please, can you at least take this on his behalf,  give it to him whenever he … whenever he comes by”
Kyrius smiled but the counter keeper could see deep within her eyes, how disappointed she was, how sad even. The blonde didn’t look like the type of women who’d  just take a man to bed for fun, beside she’d tried to reach out, she tried to find that stupid man, and to Vera that meant there was something there, and  gosh why couldn't she just tell the woman, and why couldn’t she just dragged the man out, she smile back, all she could do.
“Alright pretty lady, I’ll make sure to do that for you,  be safe” Kyrius nodded appreciative of the gesture, and just as quickly as she came she left the building.

Mercenary for Hire Chapter  12 - Part 3
*************************************************************************************
I am having trouble writing Chapter  18th on the series meanwhile Here is  2 post in  1 day  :D
**************************************************************************************
He spent the whole night going over it,  tossing and turning,  and he finally made up his mind. He will no longer, hide, he will face her, he will say fuck it and take her.  He was seated at the counter of the mercenaries guild by Vera and it was now the hundred time he looked over at the door, wantonly and disappointed each time the person that walked in was not whom he was waiting for.
“Expecting someone?” Vera asked curiously, he looked determined, and  groomed. He attempted to speak but no sound came out, and she finally understood. “oh. I see, waiting for the pretty blonde? Oh wait what was her name again? you said it,  Kyrius right?”
“Yes.. Kyrius” he mumbled, gently, in a tone Vera never heard him used.  Before his silver gaze was back at the front door.
“We’re not hiding anymore?” his gaze back at Vera he bit his lips slightly, he was annoyed,  but it all got overshadowed by his determination to finally meet her.
“ I don’t want to hide, or run.. I ” he looked up at Vera and his eyes glimmered “ you were right” Vera blinked a couple times at the admission,  she tilted her head she was still confused as to what he meant.
“ I was?” He brushed his hair back and his dark skin was adorned with a hint of red that she rarely saw on him. “ when … when you said I’ve fallen for her..  You were right, I did”
Vera almost choked on her own spit at the confession, her jaw dropping to the counter.  “ oh shit.. You?! Mister I can’t talk to women? You fell for her??!”
He groaned as he heard the woman teased why it was so difficult for her to believe it? she was, after all teasing him about it and now that he confessed she couldn't believe it?
“That's not all, Vera” he continued and her eyes almost jumped out of her sockets in curiosity  “We … we spent a night together and..”  She could not speak. All she could do was wait for him to finish, a faint smile tugged at his face, she hadn’t seen him smile, not like that, not at all.
“ I think I really messed up and I didn’t want to face it, that’s why I was hiding. That’s why I was running, I thought that if I hide she’d be better off”  Vera sighed.
“ Alright then. So,  have you gathered your courage now? She seemed tired,  she said she was tired, I wouldn't expect her to come back for a while.  After all you did play hooky for a whole week..  maybe you’ll have to wait a bit” he sighed
“Then I will..”
“ Guess the pretty girl really snarled you in” he looked over at Vera and smiled
“Kyrius.. She’s worth it..” Vera ruffles his hair like a mother does a child.
“ Good, she’s good for you, you’ve changed”
