People living in this region, even 2/3 years back they never thought that they will lose their households, agriculture land, school, hospital, mosque etc. Now every 24 hours they submersed with 4/5 feet water twice for 8/9 hours. The island's green belt is almost disappearing and new habitable land infrastructure is being lost to the sea every day due to rise of sea level and climate change caused by increase of global temperature day by day. মসজিদকুঁড় মসজিদ খুলনা জেলার কয়রা উপজেলার আমাদি ইউনিয়নে অবস্থিত। এটি বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম একটি প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক নিদর্শন ও দর্শনীয় স্থান।  মসজিদটির পাশ দিয়ে বয়ে গেছে কপোতাক্ষ নদ ও এর খুব কাছেই রয়েছে সুন্দরবন।

ইতিহাস ১৯৪৭ সালে ভারত বিভক্তির পর মসজিদটি আবিষ্কৃত হয়। পূর্বে এ অঞ্চলটি বন ও বিভিন্ন গাছ-পালায় ভরপুর ছিলো। পরবর্তীতে খননকার্য সম্পাদনা করে মাটির নিচের এই মসজিদটি আবিষ্কার করা হয়। মসজিদটি আবিষ্কারের সময় সেখানে কোন শিলালিপি পাওয়া যায়নি বলে এর নির্মাণ-এর সময় সম্পর্কেও সঠ���ক ধারণা পাওয়া যায় না। মাটির নিচ থেকে খুঁড়ে মসজিদটি আবিষ্কৃত হয় বলে একে মসজিদকুঁড় নামে নামকরণ করা হয়েছিল।

তবে প্রত্নতত্ত্ববিদগণ মনে করেন, এ মসজিদটি খুব সম্ভবত খান জাহানের শাসনামলে তৈরি করা হয়েছিল।

অবকাঠামো মসজিদকূঁড় মসজিদটির প্রতিটি দেয়াল প্রায় ৭ ফুট প্রশস্ত। এছাড়াও এটি বর্গাকারে নির্মাণ করা হয়েছিল যার বাইরে ও ভেতরের দৈর্ঘ্য যথাক্রমে ৫৪ ও ৩৯ ফুট। মসজিদটির সামনে রয়েছে তিনটি দরজা ও অভ্যন্তরে রয়েছে পাথরের তৈরি চারটি স্তম্ভ। দেয়াল ও স্তম্ভ মিলিয়ে তিনটি সারিতে তিনটি করে মোট ৯টি গম্বুজ রয়েছে।
