ACTIVITY 5: Relive History at Old Delhi
A trip to the city is incomplete without visiting the historic Old Delhi. The erstwhile capital of the Mughals – Shahjahanabad, as it was earlier known as, abounds with bustling markets, grand monuments and several medieval-era structures. Apart from the Red Fort, Old Delhi is also famous for the majestic Jama Masjid – India’s largest mosque and is home to the haveli of the legendary Urdu poet, Mirza Ghalib.
If you have an interest in wholesale markets, you’ll be astounded by Khari Baoli, the largest spice market of Asia and Bhagirath Palace - hailed as Asia’s largest market for lights, fixtures and electronic goods.
