The DRAMA in the Ken household continued.

Miyoshi couldn’t stop thinking about how Victor Feng felt about him, and soon realised he wasn’t being truly honest with himself either.

Meanwhile, Granma Inaba’s time was up, but she passed peacefully with her daughter Kodama and grandchild Junko by her side.

A few days later, both of Yoshi’s parents passed away too. He had called Victor over to his childhood home for comfort. But Kody was upset he didn’t think to bring his wife and child to mourn with him...

Are there closer fits out there? Probably. But you must remember they are a gaggle of spoiled rich kids that would probably either have very boring names (like the ones we just determined) or very eccentric ones (the ones they currently have)

Graduates Honored, Dr. Fordham Remembered at 7th Annual Ag Gala

The Emmanuel Agriculture Department graduating class of 2023 was celebrated and local farm families were honored on Tuesday evening in the Shaw Athletic Center as more than 250 members of the local community attended Emmanuel’s 7th Annual Founding Farmer’s Gala.

The event served as a thank you to the members of the Northeast Georgia community who have been instrumental in the early success of the Agriculture program.

Event sponsors included Springer Mountain Farms, Pinnacle Bank, and Bar-H BBQ.

Emmanuel President, Dr. Ron White presented Springer Mountain Farms with the Excellence in Agriculture award. Representing Springer Mountain at the event was Broiler Manager, Ken Martin.

Agriculture Program Chair, Owen Thomason, Wayne Randall, John Shealy and Melissa Webb  then recognized the 2023 graduates of the program. Graduates include –

Zoe Walraven was selected by the Agriculture instructors and  presented with the Outstanding Agriculture Student award. This award recognizes a student who has shown leadership, personal growth and dedication to the Agriculture Department. Zoe has been the Colligate FFA President for three years, recruited for Emmanuel College at the National and State FFA Convention and participated in community service events.  

Madison Nimmons received the inaugural Dr. Leslie Hart Fordham Scholarship. The endowed scholarship was started in the Fall of 2022 after the passing of Dr. Fordham. She made a huge impact on the students and college during her teaching career. Randy Fordham presented the scholarship and spoke about how Madison Nimmons wrote about her “passion for agriculture”. He talked about how, Dr. Fordham had that same passion and the two had that in common.  

At the event, a silent and live auction took place to raise money for the scholarship fund and provide more opportunities for students to study agriculture at Emmanuel. Many local businesses and craftsmen donated items to the event. The program appreciates the support of the local businesses. Wayne Randall supervised the auction and helped to find items for the sale.

“The huge outpouring of support for the program and graduating seniors was a testament to the strength of pride our community has for the students and college. It has been truly an honor to work with these men and women and I know that they are going to continue to make an impact on the agriculture industry and our world. Our past graduates have already laid the path of success for these students. Over 90% of our past graduates are engaged in the agriculture industry today.”

VP for Advancement, Brian James spoke about the continued growth of the program and how it wouldn’t be possible without the community’s support.

2022 Diversified Agriculture Degree recipient and alumnus, Wyatt Hargrove spoke at the program by sharing what Emmanuel and the Agriculture program meant to him.

“I truly thought COVID-19 would end the Emmanuel experience for me,” he said. “Agriculture and online learning don’t go hand in hand, but this program came out of the darkness with flying colors. If you don’t believe me, look around the room – we’re prime examples of it. 9 graduates, we’re constantly growing.”

Wyatt, who now works as a salesperson for AgriMed Pharmaceuticals is confident that Emmanuel’s Agriculture program helped prepare him for a successful career.

“From Livestock Evaluation to Ag Processing and Marketing, each course provided useful information,” he said. “Not a day goes by that I don’t use something I learned here.”

He closed by giving a piece of advice to the graduating seniors.

“One of the things that makes your job the best is if you love it,” he said. “I encourage you to find a career you love. Expand your knowledge and put it to good use because it will help you over time.”

GMA star Amy Robach’s stepson Nate Shue, 26, shares private family texts after slamming her ‘senseless affair drama’

AMY Robach's stepson Nate Shue has shared a private family text following her "affair" with GMA co-star TJ Holmes. 

Amy's ex Andrew Shue's eldest son Nate, 26, posted a message exchange with his brother Wyatt on his Instagram Stories.

Wyatt had sent Nate a clip of a scene from the 2004 romantic movie, The Notebook. 

He texted: "Almost made me cry I dunno why."

Nate replied: "That movie could turn a silverback gorilla into a little b***h."

Nate himself is an actor who recently starred in the short film Sense. 

The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed earlier this month that he doesn't want Amy's "affair" with TJ Holmes to overshadow his acting career as he tries to make it in Hollywood.

His stepmom Amy's relationship with Good Morning America co-host TJ made national headlines when it was exposed in November.

One pal told The U.S Sun: "It's a really difficult time for Nate and his family and he has been overwhelmed by the situation,” adding that he is staying positive. 

Another source said: "He seems to be doing well, he's just a young artist trying to make art, he's been in LA a few years now and has an agent and manager.

Insiders said the media firestorm came out of the blue and Nate feels it's "senseless stuff" and just wants his dad to be able to move past it.

Nate declined to comment on his father's marriage when approached by The U.S. Sun.

Amy and TJ's "affair" broke in November, when they were spotted enjoying what looked like a series of PDA-filled "dates" and even a weekend getaway together.

In pictures obtained by DailyMail, the TV stars looked intimate while having a drink at a bar in New York City on November 10.

They were also caught apparently spending time together at each other's apartments in Manhattan.

The pair - who began anchoring GMA3 in 2020 - reportedly headed to upstate New York on November 11 for a weekend getaway at a cottage two weeks before Thanksgiving.

Amy has filed for divorce from Nate's father Andrew.

TJ and Amy were taken off GMA3 after the public caught wind of their "affair."

They will remain suspended until an internal review of their relationship has been completed.

The Duff - Kody Keplinger

Generally, I wouldn’t have seen a movie adapted from a book without reading the book first. However, I’m trying this new thing where I see the movie and then read the book because I’m less likely to criticize and be nitpicky about all the things the movie omitted or altered.

I don’t think I knew The DUFF was a book until about a week or two before the movie was released. I wanted to see the movie the first time I saw the trailer: I love Mae Whitman. Ken Jeong and his sassy neck rolls were killing me. Two words: ALLISON. JANEY. And to top it all off, shirtless Robbie Amell.

THE MOVIE: I saw it the weekend it came out. Absolutely loved it. Literally laughed out loud. FANTASTIC soundtrack. Allison Janey being perfect, as usual, in whatever role she plays. Enough shirtless Robbie Amell to satisfy anyone's thirst … Other than the hilarity, I think what made the movie two thumbs up worthy, in my opinion, was that it took this She’s All That kind of stereotypical character and made her smart, funny, adorable, sarcastic as hell, independent, opinionated, quirky, awkward, but most of all, relatable. Bianca’s character represented a little piece of everyone and their personality as well as the insecurities we all share.

Additionally, if you’re looking for the moral of the story, it was blatantly obvious but incredibly relevant for the target audience: You’re not going to find personal or self-validation in others; you have to like, love, and be okay with yourself in order to have a chance at being happy.

I didn’t care for was Bella Thorne’s character. Not simply because she's a bitch, but because her character was inconsequential to the movie/story line all the way around,

THE BOOK: I didn’t know if I was going to finish the book when I first started it. I wasn’t immediately attracted to Bianca as a protagonist. She’s kind of gruff and aggressive, severely potty-mouthed, and impulsive in the not so healthiest ways. However, as the book delves deeper, she’s, of course, revealed to have more depth. She is an opinionated, loyal, self-sufficient, insecure teenage feminist Democrat who is trying her best to navigate the mess that is her life without exploding.

Her mother is presently absent, and her father doesn’t know how to healthily handle his wife being gone, and she’s stuck trying to make sense of it all. However, instead of thinking and attempting to rationalize, she looks for an escape - an escape she finds with Wesley Rush, the million dollar playboy who represents everything Bianca opposes. But surprise surprise! Wesley isn’t 100% the arrogant ass Bianca thought him to be. Initially meant to serve solely as a distraction, Wesley helps Bianca come to terms with her reality.

I thought there was an unnecessary amount of curse words, and the dialogue had some weak points. For her two best friends to have such large roles, they were very flat and kind of annoying, but once I got into the book, I literally couldn’t put it down, reading both a physical and ebook copy.

The DUFF gets four easy stars from me.

COMPARISON: The movie was VERY loosely adapted. Little details are always annoyingly changed for reasons I’m unaware of. For example, why do you have to change the name of the high school? I know it’s not that big of a deal, but it’s the details that make the story … The book had a much more serious tone. Characters played essentially the same roles in both though the best friends had a bigget role in the movie. I found the movie much MUCH funnier. I can’t recall if I laughed while reading the book … But the biggest difference was the DUFF concept.

Bianca obsessed over being ‘The DUFF’ in both the book and the movie, but in the book, it was just another thing in her life she had no control over. In the movie, Bianca actively tries to “Reverse DUFF” herself, but both end with the idea of self-acceptance and being true to one’s self.

The movie and the book (obviously) originate from the same source, but the stories are different enough to enjoy separately and both are definitely worth giving a shot.

The New Zealand Kiwis squad to prepare for October’s Rugby League World Cup.

The New Zealand Kiwis have named a 34-man wider squad to prepare for October’s Rugby League World Cup.

Headed by coach Michael Maguire, the squad includes an additional 10 players to their mid-year Test line-up that beat Tonga 26-6 at Mt Smart Stadium.

Veterans Shaun Johnson, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Kodi Nikorima and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad are among the additional recruits, while Canberra’s Sebastian Kris and Matthew Timoko have gained their first selection.

Seven players are yet to make their Kiwis Test debut in Kris, Timoko, Jeremy Marshall-King, Bailey Simonsson, Griffin Neame, Jordan Riki and Scott Sorenson.

Of the 24-man squad that faced Tonga in June, only hooker Erin Clark is absent after being ruled out following knee surgery.

The Kiwis will convene on September 27 in Sydney for two days of training before they head to England, where they will play a warmup match against the Leeds Rhinos at Headingley on October 8.

Maguire’s side will open their Cup campaign against Lebanon on October 16, followed by Jamaica and Ireland later in the month.
