โ€œDonโ€™t let me see you again.โ€
I am going to need you to see her again, so at least I can salvage some ship from this show๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅน.
The implication to me at the end of the penultimate episode is that Desmond Hart is the Atreides love child (hate child) of Tula Harkonnen, which would make Desmond then the nephew of Valya. And while I was shippingย Daenerys Targaryen x Jon Snow even past the point it was clear in speculation they were going to be revealed to be aunt and nephew, I do not actively chase down those paths in my shipping. If I wanted to GRRM anything in this universe, I would rather at this point Inez x Constantine be a thing as they both annoy me and I need the former away from Keiran Atreides. But of course this is not that kind of galaxy.
So it would seem Keiran x Mikaela is my series (season?) OTP, which is funny as visually they parallel Keiranโ€™s distant descendant Paul with Chani Kynes. With the additional possibility of a love triangle with a Corino princess. Though I do not ship Paul x Chani, and I have already referenced the petty reason I do not go for him with Florence Pugh Princess Irulan๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ. I am two episodes behind in weekly posting, and am just fingers crossed this show does not get a cancellation, but of course my main anticipation is the mother-son revelation in the finale. There are too many unpursued threads and lingering thoughts in all of this to cover everything even in last-minute prediction, but I do hope we get a continuation and that both Harkonnen sisters survive to a second season. I anticipated this series would parallel and outdo the Acolyte show in that it would pick off four space monks/nuns along the course of a season in retribution for their past sins, but it seems like Kasha might be the only one who will bite the dust at least any time soon. I do kind of feel as if when Valya does meet her end though, it will be at the hands of Tula for all that she lost to the sisterhood. And I keep having the nagging suspicion that much as with The Penguin and his own two siblings, there might be some further backstory or greater Valya responsibility as to the death of their brother Griffin and not everything is aboveboard in the account of things. And if so then all that Tula willingly sacrificed will have been for naught. I cannot wait for the wreckage that will be me on the other side of this sixth episode (two episodes too short!).
