Facts No One Will Ever Tell You About Safari Rides
Tumblr media
Hey adventurers! I recently visited a national park to enjoy a thrilling safari ride. Now, I have decided to tell you some lesser-known facts about safari rides. I’ll tell you the details with a special spotlight on the amazing Kaziranga National Park. From hidden gems to essential tips, here’s everything you need to know before you hop on that jeep!
Kaziranga Safari Facts
1. Other national parks do not promise sightings of wild animals, but a safari in Kaziranga National Park promises sightings of one-horned rhinoceroses. This park is the best habitat for them and more than two-thirds of the world's population of Rhinos call this a home. Because of this, you’ll surely be able to spot them here.
2. The Wild Kaziranga has four zones: Central (Kohora), Western (Bagori), Eastern (Agaratoli), and Burapahar (Ghorakhati). I have done two rides, one in the Burapahar zone and the second in the Central zone. Trust me, the safari rides were amazing. The central zone is the famous one and it offers a lot of animal spotting while Burapahar offers scenic views with bird spotting. But guess what, I was able to spot an elusive leopard in the Burapahar zone. I’ll always remember him sitting on the branch of a tree. At first, I was scared but then I followed what my guide said and it became a thrilling experience.
3. When you go on a safari in Kaziranga, then make sure to have a bottle filled with water in summer and a jacket in winter. This park’s temperature can go as below as  5 °C in winter so come prepared.
4. This park is well known among people because of the one-horned rhinoceros, but no one will tell you that it’s even a home for tigers. Yes, you can even spot a tiger in Kaziranga National Park if you choose the Kohora or Bagori zone.
5. When visiting the park, it's very interesting to make noises to attract animals, but in reality, it scares them away. If you don’t want to do it, then stay quiet or speak softly. Animals can be easily disturbed by loud sounds and will hide if they feel scared.
6. If you truly want to enjoy the sightings of animals then bring a pair of binoculars. It will help you in spotting animals from a close distance. With the help of binoculars, you can see them from a distance without disturbing their natural behavior. This way, you can observe their real behavior.
7. If you’re taking some packets or you can say wafers to eat inside the park, then keep a waste bag with you. Keep your waste packets inside that bag during the ride. This way, you can keep the par clean. Then after coming back from the ride, you can throw that bag inside a dustbin. If you’re a true wildlife lover then let me tell you that being responsible with your trash helps protect the park's beauty and wildlife.
8. When going for a ride make sure to not wear bright-colored clothes. Those colors can startle the animals. If you don't want that, then dress in comfortable, muted-colored clothing to blend in with the environment. Shades like green, brown, and beige would be best.

Kaziranga National Park spans approximately 430 square kilometers across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River in Assam. Established in 1905 as a reserve forest, it was declared a national park in 1974 and gained UNESCO World Heritage status in 1985. Kaziranga's lush landscapes, dense grasslands, marshes, and tropical forests create a perfect habitat for a diverse array of wildlife, including the majestic Indian one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer.
