thinking about nge theme “u can’t know anyone and even if u try to u will only end up hurting each other” and like yea but also asuka’s whole deal is that she Can’t let other people in like she views it as a sign of weakness (probably idk haven’t watched the movies don’t come for me) but the one time she opens up to class rep it seems like she actually kinda gets somewhere. like even if it’s kinda. baseline? they still make a connection and it almost seems like asuka is going to cry even though she promised herself not to ever again. and it just seems like such a waste because there’s so many people around asuka that would probably help her if she reached out but she’s too afraid for fear of being abandoned or betrayed again (mommy’s death, + trying to kill asuka as well). or just can’t stand the thought of looking weak. but yea i think that a big theme in the show also is be gay
