Dragon Goes House-Hunting Anime Trailer

Dragon Goes House-Hunting, based on Kawo Tanuki and Choco Aya’s Dragon, Ie o Kau manga, follows a poor dragon kicked out of his family when he fails to live up to their standards. He’s timid and just not fearsome enough. Thus, the dragon embarks on an adventure to find a new home where he can be safe and happy. However, this is easier said than done as everyone seems to want a piece of him. The series is directed by Haruki Kasugamori.

Dragon Goes House-Hunting begins streaming on Funimation in April 2021.

Dragon Goes House Hunting - Seven Seas

I used to read manga all the time as a child. It was a fantastic medium for goofy rom-coms and dynamic adventures. I didn’t have comics at the time, so manga filled that void for awhile. I grew out of it for a bit, but now I work in a comic shop, and it was inevitable that it would come back into my life.

So, my first venture back is “Dragon Goes House-Hunting.” And what a goofy house hunting ride this is! Our homeless dragon, Letty, is, frankly, not a good dragon. His fire breath burns his tongue, he’s scared of most things, is too polite for his own good, and can’t even protect dragon eggs! If it wasn’t for a few kind monsters, he would have easily been killed and cut into bits for sale! 

His house-hunting adventures do take him to a Devil-Lord realtor who goes above and beyond in trying to find Letty his home, and is seemingly trying to teach him life lessons along the way, in some of the most bizarre and heart-warming scenarios possible. Truly a comedic romp, this book comes with hilarious video game references, slice-of-life activities, and a wonderful injection of fantasy elements. 

Definitely recommend if people want a silly read about a homeless dragon.

Seven Seas Entertainment has announced that it has licensed writer Kawo Tanuki and artist Choco Aya’s Dragon Goes House-Hunting (Dragon, Ie o Kau.) manga. I have to say I wasn’t drawn to this manga at first, but after reading the first I fell in love with the story. The story is riddled with humor and ridiculous situations. Definitely a title I’m hoping to add to my collection.

Fantasy Life is Hazardous in Dragon Goes House-Hunting TV Anime PV

  New cast members, a new preview video, and the Japanese broadcast schedule have all been revealed for Dragon Goes House-Hunting (known in Japan as Dragon, Ie wo Kau.), an upcoming TV anime based on the comic fantasy manga written by Kawo Tanuki and illustrated by Choco Aya about a fledgling red dragon who is kicked out of his home for being too cowardly and who must seek accommodations elsewhere. The new cast members include:

    Kento Itō as Hero.

    Chiaki Takahashi as Thief.

    Daisuke Hirakawa as White Mage.

    Koutaro Nishiyama as Archer.

    M・A・O as Albert.

    And Takashi Kondō as Huey.

    The original Dragon Goes House-Hunting manga is serialized in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Garden shonen manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Seven Seas Entertainment, who describe the story of the series as follows:

  When a dragon fails to live up to the fearsome standards set for him, his family kicks him out. He embarks on a quest to find a new home, but soon finds that life on the road is no place for a cowardly beast of legend. In a fantasy world full of elves, dwarves, and other mythical creatures, where everyone wants a piece of him—literally!—the frustrations of house-hunting reach a whole new level.

    The Dragon Goes House-Hunting TV anime is directed by Haruki Kusagamori and features animation production by SIGNAL.MD. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

  TOKYO MX: every Sunday during the 22:00 time slot beginning on April 04, 2021.

Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation: every Monday during the 26:59 time slot beginning on April 05, 2021.

BS Fuji: every Tuesday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on April 06, 2021.

  Please note that some Japanese broadcast schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 26:59 time slot on Monday evening is actually on Tuesday morning at 2:59am JST. Dragon Goes House-Huntinging will also stream in the United States via Funimation as part of their Spring 2021 simulcast lineup.

La serie tv sta venendo prodotta da Signal MD.

Svelato assieme ad una prima immagine promozionale lo staff al lavoro sulla serie animata tratta dal manga “Dragon, Ie wo Kau” (Dragon Goes House-Hunting), scritto da Kawo Tanuki e illustrato da Shouko Aya. 

L’adattamento è diretto da Haruki Kasugamori (Hitorigurashi no Shougakusei, Lunatan: 1-Mannen no Himitsu) presso lo studio Signal.MD (Recovery of an MMO Junkie,The Wonderland) e il design dei vari  personaggi è affidato a Shiori Asuka (Lunatan: 1-Mannen no Himitsu) e Shiyi Su (Tales of HR). La colonna sonora sta venendo composta da Kyouhei Matsuno (You Don't Know Gunma Yet, Welcome to the JAPARI PARK). 

Un drago deve essere feroce e spaventoso, altrimenti che drago sarebbe?Il protagonista di questa storia non lo è affatto e per questo viene addirittura cacciato dalla propria famiglia. Ben presto si accorge che la strada non è un luogo sicuro per una bestia leggendaria, dove ogni ogni elfo, nano o creatura mitica vuole un pezzo di lui… letteralmente! Il nostro drago fifone si mette dunque alla disperata ricerca di una nuova casa!

La commedia fantasy viene serializzata dal 2016 sia sulla rivista Monthly Comic Garden che online sul sito MAGCOMI e attualmente conta sei volumetti. L’opera è inedita in Italia, ma volendo può essere trovata in inglese grazie alla casa editrice Seven Seas Entertainment.
