They both have repeatedly said that Miyuki was the reason they chose seidou and their batteries are a treat to watch!!
I wanted to add Rei Chan and Coach too but could not remember the episode numbers where they have scenes together and so we get just this much

Remember that Mew Mew Daiya au I came up with in 2020. Well over the past 3 years I've been drawing silly scenes and concepts for it and I finally took the time to compile them altogether!
I don't plan to really take the drawings further anytime soon, so enjoy them as they are here lol I do hope to draw more though for this au, just new stuff. I still need to add Sanada as another Alien lol and feature Haruichi as mini Mew!

This Friend...- Kawakami x male!Reader
Return to File
Recovery date: January 19th, 2025
Description: I've just been listening to Vocaloid's Suki Suki Daisuki, and the ideas are just pouring in. So, like Kawakami trying to confess But constantly failing But it's the male reader who ends up confessing his feelings?
Notes: Recovered in conjunction with an anonymous researcher, we thank them for their contributions. Gonna be honest, this is less Kawakami failing to confess and more Reader just beating him to it, but I hope it's close enough to what you wanted.

Kawakami knows he’s come a long way from first year. He’s a better pitcher, and overall better person; more confident, more experienced, and more of a leader. There are a lot of things he couldn’t do in first year that he can do now as a third year, like talking in front of the class or cornering Miyuki into catching for him. There are things he never imagined doing too, like handling all of the younger pitchers, and he’s said as much in his baseball journal.
That journal has helped a lot too, it’s become a source of reassurance when he starts to doubt himself, and he really wishes he could consult it now.
“Nori?”
There’s a gentle tap on his shoulder and the pitcher jumps in his seat, whipping around to find Y/n with his hand still outstretched. His brow is furrowed slightly in concern, a frown pulling at his lips.
Nori kind of wants to kiss him.
He flushes at the thought.
“Ye-” his voice breaks and he clears his throat awkwardly, turning around in his seat to face Y/n. “Yes?”
Y/n’s notebook is still open on his desk, and his lunch is set in the corner still unopened.
“Are you okay? You’ve just been sitting there for a while.”
“Oh, ya, I’m fine. Just thinking.” He looks down at the unopened lunch. “Why haven’t you started eating?”
“You aren’t hung up on that last game, are you? You did great, you don’t need to be so hard on yourself,” Y/n said, side-stepping his question. The flush that had slowly been disappearing from Nori’s cheeks returned full force at the compliment. “Are you sure you’re okay? You look really red.”
Y/n reached out, placing his hand on Nori’s forehead. The pitcher couldn’t help but lean into the touch, Y/n’s hand feeling ever so slightly cooler than his skin made it feel nice. And that was when his little illusion that it was just the two of them was broken.
Across the room, Miyuki and Kuramochi started snickering and he could hear Nabe scolding them.
“You feel a little warm,” Y/n hummed, pulling his hand away and closing his notebook. “I hope you don’t get sick.”
Nori tilted his head. Maybe he was being silly, but he wanted to know why. Did they miss him when he wasn’t around? A part of him wanted to be suave, to come up with some smooth confession, but all he settles on is-
“Why?”
Y/n laughed. “Do you want me to wish you get sick?”
“Oh,” Nori laughed awkwardly, “I guess that would be weird.”
If he got sick, would Y/n take care of him? Nori knows he gets kind of loopy when he’s sick, he doesn’t trust himself not to tiredly confess. That was how his roommates found out about his little crush– tired murmuring after practice.
Y/n nodded, opening his lunch. Nori followed, taking his lunch out of his bag and setting it on Y/n’s desk. This was how they always had lunch together; somehow, ever since first year, Y/n had always ended up sitting behind him.
Nori’s eyes flicked up to Y/n’s, but his eyes were focused on his lunch– trying to decide where to start his meal.
That was the other problem, Nori realized, he couldn’t confide in Y/n either.
Normally if he couldn’t write about something in his baseball journal, he would go to Y/n but, he couldn’t exactly-
“So, someone on the team-”
“What dumb shit did Kuramochi do this time?” Y/n sighed, glancing over at the shortstop who yelled indignantly.
Nori snorted, taking a bite of his food.
Oddly enough, he didn’t feel nervous asking this hypothetical question– even if it was far from hypothetical.
“Nothing new.” Y/n opened his mouth to speak, but Nori cut him off. “It’s not Sawamura either.”
“Oh.”
“So,” Nori looked up from his food, amusement still dancing in his eyes, “someone on the team is-” the words get stuck in his throat when Y/n looks up and their eyes meet. Fuck, this was so stupid. He cleared his throat and took a sip of his water. “Sorry, dry throat.”
“Still not used to talking so much?” Y/n chuckled.
“Hey.” He looked down, picking up his next bite as a distraction as he spoke. “Someone on the team has a crush on their longtime friend…” he gets a little quieter, “and he’s trying to figure out how to ask them out.”
Y/n rests his chin in his palm, leaning in a bit.
“Aw, is he worried about ruining their friendship?”
Nori considers it for a second, and surprises himself with the conclusion.
“No, actually.”
“Then what’s he waiting for?”
The pitcher looks out the window, and then at Y/n. He’s fighting the urge to bounce his leg anxiously, or to gnaw on the inside of his lip.
“I think he’s worried that he won’t be a good boyfriend, and he can’t find the words to say-”
“I love you.”
Nori chokes on his own spite, hearing those words from Y/n. His face flushes brighter than before and he reaches for his water as Y/n laughs.
“What’s so scary about three little words?” Y/n keeps laughing.
“It’s- I don’t know, It’s a big deal.”
“Why?” Y/n rests their chin back on their palm, leaning in closer this time. “It’s true though.”
Nori opens his mouth to speak, and stops himself. His brain runs a mile a minute as he tries to understand who they’re talking about now. Had he stopped referring to his fictional teammate, or had Y/n just figured him out? He stared wide-eyed at Y/n for a long moment, only pulled back to reality when he waved a hand in front of Nori’s face.
“Nori?”
“Did you just say you love me?” he sputters out, and there’s a teasing grin on Y/n’s face.
“I wanted to beat you to the punch, and I was also answering your question. There’s nothing wrong with just announcing your love for someone as a confession.”
His smile softened, and he settled back in his chair. Nori didn’t move for a moment, before covering his face with his hands.
“It’s so unfair. Do you know how long I’ve been trying to figure this out?!”
“Three weeks.”
“Three- How did you know?!”
Y/n erupted into laughter again, doubling over against the desk as he clutched his stomach.
“Because that’s when you started spacing out? And then you mentioned this teammate out of nowhere, and those guys,” he nodded over at the cluster of baseball players, “have been laughing all lunch. It was… kind of obvious?”
“It doesn’t count.”
“Excuse me?”
“I’m going to confess, this doesn’t count.”
“Okay, the floor is yours.” Y/n made a show of opening the floor by waving his hands out.
Nori stared at him for a moment, a determined look on his face as Y/n bit back a laugh and he could feel his teammates staring at him.
“God damn it,” Nori cursed. “Fine, you confessed first, but I'm asking you out first,” he declared. “How does Saturday sound? We can try that cafe you’ve been wanting to visit.”
“Sounds good,” Y/n nodded, returning to his lunch.
It was almost strange how they could move on from that so smoothly, as if nothing had changed. Maybe, because nothing had.

A Case of Withdrawal Symptoms: Ace of Diamond
I’ve followed the Ace of Diamond series (both anime and manga) regularly for years and to this day. Ace of Diamond remains one of my all time favorite stories. Act II, in particular, I feel was even better than the already amazing Act I.
I avoided reading the last 30 or so chapters for a while but the other day I finally read everything and now I feel so in need of something to fill the DnA shaped hole in my heart. So today, I decided to just write about a few of my favorite characters in the manga. Along the way, I’ll also slightly touch upon story points and character relationships/interactions.
~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~
Kawakami Norifumi
Tumblr media
Nori is my favorite character in the whole Ace of Diamond series, hands down. There is no contest, not even close. Nori is not only a character who we see from the very beginning of Act I and continue to see until the end of Act II, Nori is a very well-written character. He develops gradually in a believable way and at a realistic pace. He is someone whose growth we get to witness.
The best part? Nori is one of, if not the most relatable character among the main cast because he is not a genius, he is not particularly attractive or strong or smart. He has above-average baseball skills at best, with a relatively quiet personality that does not stand out, but a whole lot of resolve and mental fortitude.
Tumblr media
I’ve said this before in a post I wrote way back, and I will say it again: Nori is the kind of person I strive to be. Good at what he does even if he’s not out-of-this-world amazing. Dependable and trustworthy, someone the people around him rely upon. Hardworking and resilient in the face of being looked down upon. Most of all, does not give up on improving himself despite being around people who are naturally better than him.
It’s so easy to lose motivation to learn something when someone else younger and newer comes along and has the abilities you don’t. But Nori reminds me that there is value in improving yourself for your self, that consistency is gained through hard work not “natural talent”, and that center stage cannot shine without the backstage hands.
At the end, when Furuya told Nori directly how much his presence makes him feel at ease, I just cried. Because yes, I did say that everything Nori represents is a good thing to work towards, but it’s also true you may not receive as much recognition as the geniuses. And being acknowledged like that? Hits you right in the feels and the tears of joy just won’t stop.
Miyuki Kazuya
Tumblr media
I think most people who know me in real life or who’ve read my blog think Miyuki is my favorite character because I fangirl about him a lot. Miyuki has a lot of traits I love about a person: talented but hardworking, serious but knows how to have fun. In fact, no matter how much I love fanfiction and fanarts, I tend to be really picky about the ones featuring Miyuki because I find that they often forget or ignore the facets of Miyuki’s personality that I love.
Fan creations tend to depict Miyuki as quiet, cold, and aloof. But for me, the best parts about Miyuki is his fun-loving, goofy attitude and his whole-hearted love and passion for baseball. He likes annoying enemies, poking fun at friends, laughing at other people. He’s not stuffy about hierarchy and judges people based on merit not seniority. He loves new challenges and finds excitement in playing with or against strong baseball players.
And yet, no matter how much I love Miyuki on his own, I feel that his relationships with other characters are some of the best in the series. A lot of his character growth is spurred by a relationship with another character instead of a more individual progress like Nori’s.
Tumblr media
In terms of baseball and as an athlete, his rivalry/friendship with characters like Mima and Narumiya are some of my favorites. I love the wholesomeness of their rivalries. There is never malice or spite when they go against each other in games. Narumiya is probably the person in the series who has known Miyuki the longest. I’ve said this before but I love that Narumiya and Miyuki call each other by their first names. It emphasizes the fact that they’ve known each other since childhood. And now here they are, the stars of their respective teams.
In terms of leadership and as a person, his growth was shown a lot through his partnership with Sawamura and Furuya, his relationship with the Seidou coaching team, Chris, Yuuki, and Maezono, among others. He changes from being relatively self-centered, to thinking more about his teammates and the team as a whole. He learned to be more mindful and sensitive about others, as well as knowing that he can rely on his team as much as he is relied upon.
Finally, his friendship with Kuramochi is one of the most stable, most frequently depicted, and also often overlooked relationships. Though never explicitly stated in the series, Kuramochi is probably the closest thing Miyuki has to a best friend. They don’t have many really emotional moments together, but they understand each other and have each other’s backs. Kuramochi is the person Miyuki confides in when he has problems. And they’re both the first to notice something good or bad about the other. I don’t know about you, but that constancy is amazing. Regardless of whether they remain close in the future or not, I think a friendship like theirs is something to treasure for life.
Sawamura Eijun
Tumblr media
DnA is one of the few series whose main character I love. I think it was in one of my first ever posts about DnA that I mentioned how Sawamura is someone you really want to cheer for. A lot of anime/manga, especially in the sports genre, tell the viewers/readers that *insert main character name* makes you want to support them and help them succeed. But, Sawamura is one of the very few who actually makes you feel that way.
Personally, I believe this is due to the effective way the author shows that Sawamura is a multidimensional character. He has a very clear base personality that defines him as a person, but like every human in history, he is not just that. Different situations and even the shortest moments can bring out anger or frustration or even silence.
Sawamura is loud, optimistic, hardworking. But he can also get annoyed at his teammates, can feel jealous of his rivals, is susceptible to judging people without getting to know them, or can put far too much pressure on himself unnecessarily. I love that the series shows all of this unapologetically. He is not good with certain types of people, but even if he never becomes their best friend, he learns to get along with them. These types of character building make him human, and make you appreciate his usual noisy, laughing self even better.
Tumblr media
My favorite part about Sawamura is how open he is to both learning new things and being corrected when he’s wrong. Not only is he willing to be taught, he does not ignore people that point out his mistakes. Of course, he gets embarrassed but he apologizes if he hurts someone, and trains when his skill or knowledge is lacking or wrong.
If not for this attitude, Chris would not have taught him all the baseball basics he clearly lacked, he would not be close enough to Miyuki to experiment with his pitches together or hangout in his room, Kataoka would not have given him the chance to be on the roster, Okumura would have stayed disappointed in him. He would never have been good enough to be the ace of the team.
And what’s even more amazing is that it’s not just the readers who go through a getting-to-know phase with Sawamura. His own teammates go from getting annoyed at his yelling to actually looking forward to hearing it, from wanting to support him to being supported by him as well, from cheering him on to relying on him as their ace.
~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~☆ ~★~
I don’t know if I’ll do something like this again, but I definitely want more DnA content coming my way because I am missing it so much. Tereading the series right now only makes me even sadder, but what can I say, I love making myself happy-sad.

@flufftober day 7: porch swing
Fandom: daiya no ace Ship: Shirasu/Nori
The swing sways lazily with the gentle push of Shirasu’s leg against the wooden porch. The air has a chill to it — crisp, fresh — but not cold enough to drive them inside just yet. But as the sun begins its descent toward the horizon, it steals the day’s warmth and sets the clouds ablaze in oranges and reds.
Nori doesn’t care about the darkening sky or the evening’s chill. Not when he’s wrapped in a blanket with Shirasu’s arms holding him close. Even with his legs stretched out across the bench, he’s tucked between Shirasu’s legs and snuggled against his chest. He’s happy and safe and warm.
He’s loved and he loves in return. It’s in these small moments that Nori feels the most secure and content with who he is and where he’s at in life.
The chill seeps through Nori’s sweatpants, reaching his legs. A shiver runs down his spine. They need a bigger blanket.
Without missing a beat, Shirasu pulls the blanket tighter around them — making sure it covers them as much as possible. “Good?” he whispers his question into the quiet moment. “Do you want to go inside?”
With Shirasu’s warmth encasing him, Nori smiles. “No, I’m okay.” He laces their fingers together and cradles their hands to his chest. “I want to stay like this for a little while longer.”
Not missing a beat, Shirasu shifts to hold Nori a little closer. “Better?”
“Better.” Nori turns his body slightly toward Shirasu. He pulls his legs to his chest and brings them under the blanket. He sighs and wraps her arms around Shirasu’s chest. “Much better.” He hears Shirasu chuckle and smiles. “Hot chocolate would make it perfect though.”
Nori can practically hear the smile in Shirasu’s voice when he says, “I’ll keep that in mind.”
